If i could give this app zero stars I would

This is what happens when a software development company offers crappy salaries - they get crappy developers who lack basic knowledge of software engineering and end up making a mess of the simplest applications. This is the most frustrating health check app I’ve ever run, and having three kids in three different schools I’ve seen several ways to manage students health and covid 19 checks, none as bad as this mobile disaster.
If I had to pick one issue to describe what’s wrong with Magnus, it would be the credential management. Passwords stop working sometimes. Then we have to ask the school’s health admin for a “reset” link, which is only valid for one hour. Click on it accidentally when you didn’t mean to and close the browser, then it’s gone, link can’t be reused. You change credentials, set up a new password - but guess what, this only changes the password for your mobile app; on the web login you still use the old password. Good god, what a mess, how do I convince the school to pick a different app?

Spend some time on experience please

My experience using Magnus created the most stressful first day of kindergarten a parent could possibly experience, thanks to a poor login experience, inconsistency from web to app and a poor password retrieval experience.

I had to just give up and show the faculty I couldn’t access the mobile app for some reason, after doing that I placed my phone on the side runners of my jeep to finish prepping my child for school. You can probably guess what happened next!

Raced to jump back in the car and get out of the way for others, oops, phone is still on the side runners, until it wasn’t (did I mention I use a wallet case?).

Instead of parent orientation, I spent the next 45 minutes circling the midtown Atlanta neighborhood for my phone, wallet, license. 😖 #anxiety

Your app is used buy busy parents in high stress carpools (those things are hectic). Biometrics is tablestakes, why could I login to the web view but not Magnus ? Why couldn’t I do the health screening form in the web view? Btw that web view is definitely not mobile or even desktop friendly.

If you have no users your business will tank, think user first and foremost, the business will succeed.

Utterly useless app and not Apple friendly!

If you have an iPhone just throw Magnus away. You can’t edit fill or sign anything electronically—-which is THE whole point of paperless! The instructions literally state to Print, fill out, upload! Can we talk about the massive amount of typos on the actual this app platform itself??? And they want us to fork over our children’s medical records to them?? My mind is blown at how horrible this system is developed. It should not be on the market. Period. And before you try to respond and say “our customers have helpful articles on troubleshooting issues with the platform” just save it. I’ve read everything in your FAQs. The system is simply useless for paperless/mobile iOS usage. Fix it or get rid of the entire app.

This is the first app review I’ve ever written

That’s how frustrating Magnus has been for me. I read through other reviews and apparently a new version was supposed to fix issues but I had v2 and I literally just had to uninstall and reinstall to be able to login. I changed my password yesterday so I knew I had the right pw. Why should I have to reinstall in order to login? I’m glad it only took me a few minutes to make it work this time but I spent way too much trying to get Magnus to work last year. Do you do any QA whatsoever?? Finding major bugs are not difficult to catch before a release goes out the door.

Not a stable platform

After using this app to complete all of our kids health forms prior to the start of school, this app then tanked on the 1st day of school. Both online and app access indicated that our account was “Disabled” which ( in their embarrassingly self sabotaging logic) not only prevents you from logging in but precludes you from any opportunity toward resetting your credentials? Brilliant! With dozens of parents and children queued up for COVID protocol validation, this app helped to create (as another reviewer said) the worst first day of school ever! Not an easy feat in the annals of our family.

School Magnus experience

While Magnus does have some space to grow, overall it does everything we need it to. For schools new to this app, I would recommend having a point person watch this app’ trainings. They help A ton.

Additionally, to assist our parents with using the application for the first time we created an instructional video of how to log in and use the daily Covid screening.

Thank goodness it’s over

It’s incredible to see how little Magnus has improved since the quarantine began.

It’s still painfully difficult to use. Tap on something, a word gets highlighted somewhere else. Like tapping? Good because the first tap probably won’t do what you need anyways.

It’s slow too. Scroll the screen, it doesn’t follow your finger. I mean, they just have the basics completely and painfully wrong.

And they don’t even care enough to make it awful but pretty. It’s ugly and they have random squares painted on the screen instead of actual buttons, good luck figuring out what you’re supposed to tap on. But great for you if you like puke green.

Warning. If you are logged in, but can’t do anything, quit Magnus , then when you restart it it will let you log in properly.

Fixed bugs come back with updates

Example: if you use a password manager to paste in a username/password (as a security conscious person would) with the iOS mechanism for doing so, the login button remains disabled. You have to type a character then delete it so the login button becomes usable. This was fixed 2 versions ago and the most recent update reintroduced the bug.

It worked until it didn’t

I’m so glad the school year is almost over and I won’t (hopefully)have to use Magnus anymore. It’s so frustrating because I can’t get the login to work. It just spins when I put in my credentials. Ugggggg! Now I have to go inside and fill out a paper form when I drop my child off so she can go to school. Ridiculous.

Really awful

Constant login problems last year, won’t work at all this year. I’ve tried changing the password, uninstalling/reinstalling, etc. I’m busy trying to get to school and can’t spend 10 or 15 minutes troubleshooting Magnus . Luckily I’m a teacher so they’re going to let me in.

Poor design and execution

Magnus is not set-up for multiple students attending different schools but live in the same household! We have to literally log in to each and every time for each to submit the required forms. We have 3 different user names and passwords!!! Magnus is a mess!

By

Can I give zero stars?

The worst. Can’t log in. Totally user-unfriendly. Really stressful first day of school, trying to figure out why my randomly generated user name and password aren’t being accepted. Do better or take your app off the market, because it’s useless.

By

Terrible

Very glitchy. Password sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. Can sometimes upload from mobile, sometimes not. Last year, it worked with Apple devices, this year, only PC…it’s a mess.

Login 2x for 2 kids at different schools??

I can’t believe that I have to log out and log back in for my two kids who go to different schools when both schools use Magnus !

By

Bug-riddled 🪳🪳🪳

Magnus seems to have no developer support. FaceID functionality broke months ago, and it’s even challenging to use the paste function to enter my password from my password manager.
Disgraceful to effectively abandon a product that schools and families depend on. 👎🏼

What’s the point?

Magnus is utterly useless. Doesn’t bode well for the company either. Why is our school paying them/you? What do you offer the school in return for a website straight from 1996? Must be an A+ data storage company.

By

Doesn’t work

I have tried deleting and downloading this several times and it’s not working properly. My profile is there but my son is missing. Unable to use.

Password login

Still not working correctly…
It’s incredibly frustrating but do not have another option with our school.

By

App doesn’t work!!!

Cannot sign in with the same credentials as when I use on the web! How am I supposed to do daily Covid check-ins with my child and show proof? Bring my laptop to their school?! Are you joking?

Failure for an entire year

These guys had an entire year to make Magnus one start to at least threes starts. NOTE to company, better lay some people off as your going to loose a bunch of customers.
