Titan: Smart Investing. Reviews

I have been using Titan for about 3 months, all good. But suddenly after 3 months they realize that they need to verify identity, and they lock your account without giving any prior notification. You don’t actually come to know that the account is locked until you try to login, and suddenly you receive and email that it is a routine check up. Well they keep deleting the reviews every after I post it. Customer Service: they are okish. They reply once every 24 hour. They mostly reply what they want to irrespective of what we ask. And another thing, suppose you ask 2 questions, they will reply to one question in first 24 hours and may reply to next question next day. It has been 36 hours and yet they haven’t responded yet. So in all, I would say just put a little in your portfolio in this app and invest the rest somewhere else. It will be frustrating to keep waiting for the response from the customer service and their custodian partner!! Mine review is still in progress, 48 hrs and counting!! AVOID this app!! One more point, even if you sell your entire portfolio and they are not happy they will cancel the process 2 days later and give out some Wierd reasons which makes no sense. My account is still in verification process 168 hrs have passed and still no update!! Customer service doesn’t even respond anymore! Best advice is stay away from this app

I’m a Finance major, I totally understand how the stock market works and how to research a company. I was doing it on my own when I first started to invest but realized that I did not have the resources it takes or the time to effectively and responsibly manage a portfolio of companies.

Then I was introduced to this app and immediately moved all of my money over to them once I heard about their long term oriented strategy to investing. I also love that they do all the research for me and then succinctly summarize what is taking place in each company. They also analyze macroeconomic trends and present their ideas and research in easy to understand videos and infographics. No matter you knowledge or background in investing their goal for you is to grow!

I’ve also worked at several investment firms myself and the level of customer service that this app exhibits to their clients is unparalleled in the industry. They are quick to reply and answer questions and make the experience feel tailored to you, no matter your background or knowledge on how investing works. This is SO RARE for the finance industry.

Overall - this app is one of my favorite apps to recommend to friends that are actually serious about investing for the long term instead of gambling their money on Robinhood. I cannot recommend this company - or Titan - any higher.

Titan is simply a tremendous idea. Scaling hedge funds to learn the moves they are making, and seamlessly implementing it into individual portfolios as opposed to one overall fund. It’s brilliant and gives the user the best of both worlds. It truly feels like your own personal hedge fund in your pocket.

My only wish is for more competitive fees. Perhaps .35-.5% would be more appealing for early on investors (which, lets face it, is who Titan is appealing to). I fear the 1% may scare some folks away when they could comparatively throw their money at a Robo advisor like Wealthfront for .25% fees. I know it’s not the same thing, and not what this app is aspiring to be, but most investing noobs don’t know and won’t care. Anyway, I’ll eat the fee because I’m bullish on this project, this idea, and the intuitiveness of the UI. But that’s just me...

Love Titan . Love the idea. The devs seem to be active and along for the ride with the investors. Excited to see where they take this train.

I tried TitanVest after hearing an interview w one of their founders. Titan is simple and intuitive. Their information is timely and thoughtful and no-nonsense. I invest with several discount brokerage firms, a large full-service firm, and a boutique firm, and this app provides as much insight and involvement as the boutique firm and makes all the others look like dinosaurs. They provide ongoing updates to their investments held in their various funds and the breakout of investments in each fund with simplicity and granularity. As a this app investor, I get “three things” updates each week also, and those are very thought-provoking and revealing. The ease of use with Titan makes this a fintech champion. TitanVest is a great, simple app that makes investing painless while providing a strong sense of connection with the investment team.

Clay and the this app team seem to really be onto something. I won’t harp on the returns because they speak for themselves, but I am also very impressed with their client engagement. I have seen multiple improvements implemented that (I’m sure not just me) I specificaly asked about/recommended. I do wish you had the ability to get a little more technical with your own data, (e.g. look at cost/gains by lot or look at performance for specific time periods. Would also be cool to be able to compare this app to indexes/etfs/tickers of your choice)... but I also appreciate that the simplicity is part of the point.

I would, and do, 1000% recommend Titan to anyone who has the means to invest, and will continue to increase my holdings with them for the forseeable (and not so forseeable) future!

this app is a hedge Fund that is accessible to average people like me. I feel lucky to be able to invest in this app. I want to thank Clay and all the this app team for offering this investment fund. It is fully transparent and the this app Manager regularly updates clients on the investment choices. Fees are comparatively low for a Hedge fund and they give us a opportunity to lower the management fee even further if you share Titan with others and reduces the fee by 0.25% for each person that invests in this app through the shared link. I hope I can reduce my fee to nothing and then I would have professional stock management for no fee. I look forward to long term investing in this app and it serves me very well for my aggressive allocation in my overall investment portfolio. Keep up the stellar management!

this app is my favorite source of research and investment manager. this app provides all of the benefits of an actively managed and concentrated value oriented investment portfolio that also values growth. They leverage hedge fund data in ways that regular way ETFs would if they weren’t afraid to diverge from broader indices and the standard heard mentality that comes with them. Management is thoughtful, organized, and transparent about why they make their investment decisions. And best of all, they speak in understandable terms for people who could but don’t have time to read hundreds of pages of equity research. It’s also nice that there are options for different hedge preferences to align with each investor’s risk tolerance. Keep it up guys, this is my favorite investment and puts ETFs to shame. This is the future of investing.

Clay and the this app team have created a ground-breaking investment app that virtually does all of the heavy lifting for the investor, while providing insight and education about the “why” aspect of the portfolio. Clay is essentially a modern day Buffet evangelist committed to using proprietary software to review hedge funds’ 13-f reports to find the best stocks with high moats and strong long-term fundamentals. If you believe, as I do, in the old investment adage that stock performance tends to track solid and consistent return on invested capital (ROIC), then look no further—this app is Titan to use. If, however, you want to find the next high flying IPO with high growth prospects but questionable long-term moats and/or little to no record of strong ROIC, then you may want to look elsewhere, like Las Vegas or Macau. Good luck and go this app!

Having worked in finance at multiple hedge funds, I can tell you that the long-term investing that this app does is hard to find in most hedge funds, and a source of alpha for this app. Most hedge fund portfolio managers can’t invest like this because they are subject to risk controls (-10% and you’re fired). Thus, they 1) crowd into many of the same trades, or 2) play short-term (ex. company missed earnings. Even if portfolio manager knows a certain stock is a good long term investment, the street will lower this company’s earning projections in their models due to the short term, which leads to a lower valuation/price. Thus, PMs need to sell because the stock may go down)

In addition, more important than the performance, in my opinion, is the educational content that comes from this app.

I ran into this investing app and gave it a shot. There are two main portfolios: flagship and opportunities. The first is for more stable and less aggressive set of stocks and the second is for newer companies that may give you greater gain opportunities. I’ve chosen the first initially, but then moved my funds into the second and my gains are at 15% within the first few months. I don’t have to manage anything and it’s great so far. There is only a 1% annual fee, but you can drop it by 0.25% if any of your friends create an account. You could eventually drop the fees to 0% if I’m not wrong. Still, even a small fee is better than losing your money with one of those commission free brokers.

Working a 7-3 m-f job makes trading difficult. Not to say I haven’t made a ton of money myself, I’ve also lost a lot. This gives me piece of mind once reading up on their DD they provide when entering a trade or their reasons for closing or trimming a trade. I’m quite impressed. I’ve loaded a good bit of funds and so far. Even with the market down trending since the Ukraine invasion they have performed well. The more money they make you the more they can make themselves, so they are going to try their hardest to grow your capital. I’ve done other roboinvesting like acorns, also traditional in my own account with ETF’s like a boomer. BORING. I’m going to stick with these guys for very long time.

Great work this app!

Outstanding app for knowledgeable retail investors. I like the simple and intuitive UI, regular updates from management, and the ability to control my fees. Personally and anecdotally from friends, the returns are as advertised. My one critique would be the somewhat limited control over scheduling capital transfers. I would like more options. For instance, “I would like to initiate a transfer of $X on this specific day of the week and every week thereafter.” I want this because it would simplify my finances. I transfer capital to my non-this app IRA and high-yield savings on Fridays, and it would be great to do the same with this app.

Clean app, transparent communications, and great returns. Slightly limited functionality in some areas.

I've been using this app for a little over a year. I'm a bit of a believer is the low expense index funds, but saw your product and I thought I'd give it a try. While the returns have been good, what has really stuck out to me is your content you provide. I likely would have left this app because of the 1% fee (which I get is not a bad fee for financial advisors, but is very high compared to low cost index funds). However, your content has been so consistent, insightful, and helpful that leaving doesn't make much sense. I just wanted to leave that positive feedback and I'll leave it online as well.

As a first-time investor in Titan , it was very concerning I found a glitch in the first day of use where cash in my account was reporting negative.

When I reached out to support and shared this concern, I see that one support agent read my message, but never reassured me my funds were OK and that their team was looking into it. They look like a very successful app, but reminds me of fast-growth apps like RobinHood that over-invest in marketing and underinvest in support and operations to ensuring customers can access their funds quickly when needed.

Feedback to this app: When users send you support messages that funds in their account appear missing, take it seriously and write back to the user with what steps are being taken and re-assure them their funds are safe. As a new user, I was ready to put in 100K+, but this experience needs to get resolved with care to restore trust with your company.

To preface, I think this app offers a unique value proposition. One that I completely buy into. This review has more to do with their app. Which I've reinstalled several times on different devices. I'm not sure if my experience varies from others, but I find Titan to be extremely buggy: 1. The welcome videos sometimes show at the top, as if they haven't been seen. Other times they go back to the bottom, hidden under the Onboarding section. There are several other small things that detract from the overall user experience. If Titan had the same polish as the bigger players, there is no doubt this would be the platform to beat.

So first off, I guess I was wrong to assume I could actually pick the stocks I wanted to invest. Instead they just take your money and invest in whatever they want. Well, that’s ok. I’m fine with that, I just want my money back. Oh but wait I have to leave my money in Titan for 6 months in order to pull it out right away. Well I can’t wait that long what’s the alternative, hmm, I email this app and they tell me of a way to take my money out. They said all we need is 2 forms of ID and then a proof of residence at your address. Jeez, ok. Well I sent them all that and then they told me they’ll ship out my check. I’ve been emailing their representative, but now I’m being ghosted. Today with no response I’m sad to say I’m still missing money and they aren’t even getting back to me.

My advice to everyone is that Titan will more than likely just tie up your money for an undetermined amount of time.

I piloted the service for almost 12 months before moving my retirement portfolio from Betterment to this app. 3 reasons I made the move:

- Personalized hedge: traditionally, investors in a similar financial stage as myself have not had access to this type of benefit. It brings more long term stability to the portfolio.
- Active mgmt & research: unlike Robo investing, this app is actively managed and provides great insight and clarity into their decision making. So far (granted only a couple years) the performance speaks for itself with significant gains compared to other financial investing platforms.
- Innovation to come: this app has accelerated their growth, demonstrating adoption and value to their customers. fin tech has been riding a wave of innovation, I believe in the management team & quality of the service, and are looking forward to this app continuing to evolve the value they offer their customers.

I definitely recommend this app if you are looking for a focused, actively managed investing service that has trended significant performance upside relative to other services.

Listen, by now stretch of the imagination am I financial whiz. Nor do I have mountains of investible assets. Still, I want to learn the 101s of market investing and see some returns flow my way. I’ve been invested with this app for several years now and seen gains in both these areas: the daily newsletters and videos of analysts’ analysis help me feel in touch with market fluctuations and I’ve seen my capital increase. There is no get rich quick promise here. Slow and steady investing still applies. But the interface and UX are great and I feel like I’m safely invested with thoughtful pros who can show me the way.

I like Titan because unlike betterment and wealthfront they take a unique approach to investing. Although this does not replace a traditional retirement account, it does allow for an investor to add money to a actively managed account with the hopes of aggressive returns. I wouldn’t recommend Titan for the faint hearted, but its definitely worth a shot for people new to investing and have already maxed out their retirement contributions and are looking for another place to park their money.

Cons: the 1% fee is very high. Also looks like they only have three employees. Its make me nervous to trust them with large sums of money. Taking it step by step with them

So from a product and design standpoint, Titan is superb – it’s a joy to use. I also love the communications from the this app team.

Unfortunately, that’s where the good experience ends for me. After having invested $200 in mid February, my portfolio has yet to increase more than $0.76 in value (a 0.38% gain). It is now June 5th. Adding insult to injury I’ve paid $20 in advisory fees over that same time.

To put this performance in perspective, over this same period, all of my other investment accounts have seen 8-12% returns.

I was really hoping that with a 90+% all time return since 2018 that I’d be able to gain at least a couple percentage points in 3-4 months.

It’s not that I can’t afford to invest more than $200... I was just dipping my toes in the water to see if it was worth investing more. Unfortunately, I’m kind of coming to the conclusion that it’s not worth it for me.

I’ll give this app two more months. But if performance continues to be flat, I’ll have to take my money off the platform. 6 months with only 1% return will not quite have met the expectations set by the marketing of the flagship fund’s performance.

Have been a this app user for 18 months, love the mobile app user experience, the team is on it and I have built significant trust in their ability to take care of my money and manage it smartly. The portfolio diversification and quarterly new company analysis makes it so I don’t have to be optimizing my own portfolio as much. And the mobile content — written and videos, for company deep analyses and explaining dramatic market moves is higher quality, easier to understand (even fun), than anything I have ever received from a money manager. I am moving more money over to this app. Highly recommend.

I am a fairly sophisticated investor and have been a doing my own investing for over 30 years. Always thought I knew better than the experts so why pay them to make my stock picks. Decided to try a managed account for the first time when I read about this app and I am happy to say, at least when it comes to this app, that I could not have been more wrong about the value of a managed investment account. These folks know what they are doing and are doing it well. I continue to add to my account on a monthly basis and could not be happier.
