Terrible app

I have been with HSBC sine a long time and wonder why I am still with them. Their security system for on line banking is terribly cumbersome compared to other banks in the USA. My assigned advisor in Paris ignores my emails and I’m limited to the mobile app to deal with my banking needs. That is pathetic. Looking for a new bank as of now.

Horrible Service

The people are incompetent. We are high net worth clients with the private client services and we still do not get a minimum of services. We pay over 3000 euros a year in fees to chase people down for months to try and resolve simple issues or get questions answered and it is not like we ask much from them. We have accounts with them in three countries. If I was not American born I would bank elsewhere. Being born in the US no bank wants you in Europe because of regulations even with a net worth in the 8 digest. I would recommend anyone to bank elsewhere not at HSBC. The people at our old local branch are much nicer people.

Just updated to the newest version on march 16, 2021, now can’t even open HSBCFrance ! Can someone do some testing before release it?!

Worst on-boarding/sign-up ever

The on-boarding / sign-up for new customer is amongst the worst in the industry. You need 3 pass-phrases, 2 passwords, 2 activations keys which comes with a big delay of email server response. Not information are given to user as why all these crazy steps are necessary, as no other HSBC apps from other countries requires this. I couldn’t even see if I couldn't even find where to use Face ID.

And if you forgot one of these passwords you gotta call the customer center (paid call).

Terrible app

Over complicated rubbish. Too many passwords. Why change from a pin to a password?? A pin I will remember, a password I will write down. Want to do a good mobile banking app?? Copy Bank of America .. it’s simple, secure and at least you can make e payments .. worst banking app ever

I have never seen such a horrible banking up looks like something from 2007. Can read your documents in HSBCFrance , the 2 factor security is totally dated, no ipad version, basically its pretty much only usefull to check your balance and thats about it.

Native iPad app is missing

It seems that HSBC France is one of the few apps in the HSBC family,y which is iPhone only. When will you release an iPad native app?

My HSBC FRANCE app is telling me I must update HSBCFrance before I can use it. But the apple App Store does not have a new update. What is going on? I am using this in the USA and accessing the USA Apple App Store.

Help!!! I cannot access my account without this.

Getting things set up and running well is confusing, time consuming and frustrating. There are codes for generating codes and alternative protocols that aren't always applicable. And national HSBC affiliates don't seem to follow the same sequences, probably because of software updates or their lack.
But perseverance pays off! Once the system is in place and you grasp the process, then things work well. It's quick and the fees aren't extortionate (though at times you need to question fees that seem unwarranted to have them removed ).
Staff are friendly and patient; they know it's a tough slog.
In the end, as you use the facility, you let go of earlier bad feelings and enjoy the ease and practicality of HSBC Première Global banking. It's a good service, hard to get into but well worth it once you're there.

Great app, but missing one important feature

I have to say HSBCFrance has gotten better and better. The FaceID update was a huge quality of life update for the security key and is really nice.

It’s fast, easy to use and shows you your finances and lets you do most of what you need.

The biggest shortcoming is that when you do a transaction with your HSBC card it takes several days to appear in HSBCFrance (or on desktop). This makes it very hard to manage your day to day spending as there’s no way for you to accurately know what your spending is unless you stop for a week and wait for HSBCFrance to update.

If HSBC could do this, this would take HSBCFrance and service to the next level. I really hope you are working on this for an upcoming release!

I was a happy user of the HSBC global app. I have two accounts in two countries and it was just perfect. Why do you have to complicate my life with two apps? I don’t see the pros for now. I am happy to change my mind if you explain what’s the advantage.

One improvement would be the ability to use any character when writing in the description field, more than just periods and dashes. I would like to use the slashes and ampersand for example. Also, the description field should be able to hold more characters and or have multiple lines like the web version of the site.
