After struggling to even place an order because every other screen takes several minutes to load, we get to the restaurant to pick it up and they said it never came in. It’s there in the Order History, it has an Order Number, the right address was used to place the order, the Loyalty Points used to buy it are spent (how convenient) but the restaurant says if the order isn’t in the system they can’t make it.
Don’t waste your time with DickeysBarbecuePit or this chain.

DickeysBarbecuePit may be the worst I have ever used. I have attempted over and over to submit receipts and DickeysBarbecuePit refuses to recognize them as valid Dickey’s receipts. I have been in contact with DickeysBarbecuePit Team many times but they are not helpful at all. They claim that the “development team” will address the problem but nothing happens. In the meantime I have about a half dozen receipts they refuse to accept (over 150 points) and they say they cannot enter the points themselves even though I provided photographic evidence of the receipts. Not sure what I can do at this point but I would recommend that Dickey’s find a new development team for their app.

I signed up to redeem a free sandwich thanks to T-Mobile Tuesday. The website wouldn’t let me redeem a reward so I thought DickeysBarbecuePit would be easier. In an era of take out food being so popular Dickey’s needs to invest in technology because DickeysBarbecuePit is terrible. So bad I don’t want to eat here because of the digital experience. It was looping me around and not loading correctly. Errors when trying to load a time, errors when login a a car. Taking longer to place an order than the drive there. It also is poor with pricing and when redeeming a reward it showed $0 for additions which wasn’t correct until seeing my final bill. It doesn’t break down prices and only totals the bill. I adjusted the tip to $1 and from it always looping back to the screen I was charged 2.92 for the tip. DickeysBarbecuePit is too frustrating and I will not be using it to order anything else.
by Sad And Frustrating
I was brought to DickeysBarbecuePit due to the T-Mobile Tuesday promotion, boy, it’s a torture for the user and it’s a joke and a shame for developers to have such a horrible app.
1. It keeps complaining the address wasn’t found if I sign up with my email even though the address was auto filled up by DickeysBarbecuePit . It stuck here.
2. It seems to allow me to sign up through google account, but when I logged out, the screen title bar still displays (hello, “my name”). Even when the screen shows the new user sign up/ sig in form, my previous sign in name was still displayed.
3. No way to check/uncheck items selected, the cart is not sync up either.
4. The store selection pull down menu is a joke, which shows DickeysBarbecuePit was developed by someone from a half century ago.
When I thought it cannot get any worse, boy, today I try redeem from t-mobile app, and was taken to the store app, it shows “I will get my reward through my email in the next day”, guess what, there is no place for you to enter the email address, what a frustrating and sad experience. An App from the Stone Age.

I ordered lunch with DickeysBarbecuePit . I drove to the restaurant. It was closed. It was 12:15pm. Hours on the door and DickeysBarbecuePit shows that it opens at 11:00am. Nope. Dark. Locked. Empty. But they took my money. I’m disputing with my bank. Gave it a second try. Placed a curbside order. Went through the whole process. Took forever. I pressed the submit button. Poof. Crash. I opened it back up. No sign of my order. Cart was empty. Waste of time.
Edit.
I gave it a second try. Ordered using DickeysBarbecuePit after confirming that the location was open. Paid. Got to the location. Several things that I paid for... they didn’t have. They never have desserts other than the soft serve. Discontinued by the location. They were out of 2/3 of the meats that I ordered and two side dishes. At 2pm. Done. Done. Done.

As I sit in a dickeys location, I am angered by DickeysBarbecuePit. My boyfriend and I placed an order to a location and when we hit place order, DickeysBarbecuePit said it could not place the order because we had already used the free drink coupon. However, his card was still charged for our order. Because of this, we called the restaurant to see if our order went through. They said it had not, yet his card was charged. DickeysBarbecuePit shows poor connecting between the individual stores and DickeysBarbecuePit servers. Thankfully the workers were ice enough to take our orders, but it still cost us an hour.

This was my first time using DickeysBarbecuePit and, I must say, I am unimpressed. It started off by not loading. All other food apps I have don’t have that issue. Then I tried to use a loyalty reward that I had. Well, at checkout it wouldn’t run my card for whatever reason. That’s fine, I’ll try again. Didn’t run my card, so I tried a different card, then it wouldn’t run the card because my “coupon had already been used.” That’s right, DickeysBarbecuePit ate my coupon. I hadn’t completed the order, but it marked my coupon as used. And that’s not exactly an inexpensive “mistake”. I don’t know that I’ll be using DickeysBarbecuePit again.

The day after I created an account on the Dickey’s app I started receiving dozens of texts and emails and calls with spam ads. It’s literally non stop and I’m a little irritated that a $5 mediocre bbq sandwich has turned into a avalanche of endless texts and calls trying to sell me stuff. Since the pandemic kicked off I haven’t signed up for anything and Dickey’s was the only thing I recently created an account with my personal info. Who would have thought Dickey’s was so cash strapped they’d sell off customers info for a payout.
by Creetisvan
I placed an order and added a nice tip. Upon checkout the tip screen appeared again and the tip didn’t appear as a line item on the details so I figured that something went wrong with the tip I chose, so I chose it again. Then I saw the tip UI appeared AGAIN and again no line item for the tip. I realized that because of the misleading UI I had given a double tip! After this I won’t ever add a tip on DickeysBarbecuePit again. The employees lose because I was conned into thinking I hadn’t added it when I did. If I give a tip I’ll do it with cash at the location, but not next time, as I essentially tipped them in advance. Tough.

Previous issues were eventually fixed, but we’ve been trying to use DickeysBarbecuePit to order from Dickey’s for the past two weeks, and it’s problem after problem. One store says they have baked potatoes but DickeysBarbecuePit won’t let you order baked potatoes. Another store shows potatoes on DickeysBarbecuePit , but the store doesn’t have potatoes. Also, the store isn’t receiving the order info. I feel so bad for the DoorDash guys who are having to play intermediary. And today, DickeysBarbecuePit wouldn’t even let me pick a date or time for order delivery. This is infuriating! It’s an awful app.

Maybe I’m just old, but this is a very painful app to use. I wouldn’t use it at all if my local store had enough staff to answer the phone. Fo example, It is impossible to remove items from the cart- when the qty is 1, the “-“ button is disabled. Trust me, sometimes people want to delete an item before purchasing. The “continue” button is directly under the iphone window control tab, so trying to advance to the next screen closes DickeysBarbecuePit . And so on.
Love the food, hate DickeysBarbecuePit , and therefore when I want the food I just drive to the store and order in person. You really ought to be able to do better.

I'll update my review once DickeysBarbecuePit is corrected but right now I'm unable to make an order in DickeysBarbecuePit . I can find the store I want to order from but it won't let me choose pickup at that location. I never get to even add an item to my cart because I can't choose anything but delivery. Useless app right now since I have to call the store and make my order anyway. Maybe contact the Chick Fil A app developers and ask them how to fix DickeysBarbecuePit !

I missed out on $90 worth of Dickies points. DickeysBarbecuePit wouldn’t let me create an account or login on my iPhone11. It did not even email me a receipt for my purchase. They didn’t give me a receipt at the restaurant either. And it would not let me order waffle fries. I couldn’t go back to my order to let the restaurant know I had arrived, so I had to wait for them to pack the order at arrival. However, it used time more efficiently than ordering in the store and thankfully I was not asked for proof of purchase because I didn’t have any.

First I had to create an account multiple times to even be able to get into DickeysBarbecuePit . Then immediately it asks me to put in my email and password just to tell me my password is wrong. So after the 4th time trying to reset my password it finally let me in after confirming my location multiple times it will not let me select the Peoria store to to pick up. Just for fun I tried a couple of stores in Texas which it’s defaulted to and it worked just fine. The foods good and employees are nice but DickeysBarbecuePit needs an entire overhaul

Right away, this is not a reflection on the food, the food and service at every location I’ve been to has been excellent. There are just a few things about DickeysBarbecuePit that could use some tweaking.
First, the loyalty program. I’ve spent quite a bit of money at these locations and I’ve never received a royalty reward. I can submit my receipts or order through DickeysBarbecuePit but I never seem to get to a reward. I know I’ve spent well over $35 too.
Second, the location that is closest to me doesn’t always have the promo items. For instance the wings. I can order them on DickeysBarbecuePit to pick up, but when I get there I’m told they don’t do the wings and have substituted it with something else. There should be some way to know before hand that not every location does the promo items.
On the plus side ordering through DickeysBarbecuePit is easy. Sometimes not all the options are available but the process is simple.

I am new to the world of eating at Dickey’s. When I first heard that they were opening up a restaurant in my area I thought it was a joke and I laughed. Why? Because I live in Kansas and Texas barbecue is inferior. (I lived in Texas a lot longer than I have in Kansas and so I do speak from experience, and barbecue is literally the only thing about Kansas that I like at all.) The first time I tried it I was very unimpressed and figured they wouldn’t be open long, but I did give them another chance and now love them.
DickeysBarbecuePit , however, is very irritating. DickeysBarbecuePit works just fine when I’m at home and just looking it over. The problem is that there are special deals that are only available by ordering from DickeysBarbecuePit (the cashiers are unable to match DickeysBarbecuePit ’s prices on their end), yet it seems like DickeysBarbecuePit doesn’t want to work while I’m at the restaurant and needing to order something. This has happened to me on numerous occasions.

I had to download DickeysBarbecuePit since the website is so terrible. The only way to continue through DickeysBarbecuePit was by adding food to my cart, closing and then re-opening DickeysBarbecuePit every time I added food. Our small town mom and pop restaurants have better online ordering services. Only two stars because I THINK I was actually able to complete my order.
UPDATE:
Context is important. My online order to Dickeys a few weeks earlier never made it to the store even though I had the confirmation email. Very annoying since I was on a time crunch but not the worst thing to deal with. The employees at the Benson, AZ store more than made up for the inconvenience simply by their understanding demeanor. Two things are consistent, the food is great and the employees I’ve dealt with were very very understanding and accommodating. The fact that I got a response from their app developer let’s me know that they care...this warrants a two star update. Not perfect, but still very good.

Overall DickeysBarbecuePit was easy to use, other than I placed my order of food first, then when I moved on to order a beverage (and redeem my Free Yellow Cup) it deleted my order and I had to start all over.
Should have ‘redeem rewards’ as your first selection option (vs meals, etc) so you don’t have to redo your order.
Otherwise app is user friendly.
*now to see how the delivery & accuracy of our order is.

Easy to use app for ordering online for pickup/delivery! The only thing I wish would change would be to be able to review my delivery address before I submit my order. You are able to set your address in settings, but you don’t ever see it again to confirm accuracy. I have a tricky address so it would just give me piece of mind! Otherwise, once my order is placed, it is very easy to track the progress.

Dickey’s steals your money by forcing you to buy a drink even though you don’t want a drink or don’t like their drink selections. It costs more to order your food a la carte without the drink than to order on their app with the drink you don’t want. I consider this legal but unethical. Be informed and consider other establishments that don’t pull this legal scam.

This is quite possibly the worst app I have ever used. The account process is atrocious. I’m constantly getting an alert that my phone number is in the wrong format without giving any indication of what the right format is. The keyboard to enter the phone number is a number key pad that does not allow editing of already entered info. Screens are slow to load. It asks for your location but doesn’t use location services to pinpoint user. Such a bad experience that I think twice about ordering from Dickey’s now.
by Asimonina2
I attempted to order from the website and did not use an app. It was useless. I finally had to download DickeysBarbecuePit to get my order correct.
by Ashdjfndkc
Took about 20 minutes to be able to place order.
by EZTider
I tried to order takeout from DickeysBarbecuePit and it hung up at the credit card payment screen. Given that the restaurant sometimes runs out of some items, and now this...I’m not sure I want to trust DickeysBarbecuePit with my credit card info anyway. Fail.

My family is so happy we got a Dickey’s in our town. Delicious food at a good price. Not a big fan of DickeysBarbecuePit though. We change what we get almost every time and DickeysBarbecuePit is a bit difficult to order on with 6+ people.
by 12/24
I love that you can use a gift card on DickeysBarbecuePit , however I wasn’t sure how to add the gift card at checkout so I ended up having to use my card. I think there needs to be add gift card to checkout option. That’s all! Love everything else though!
by New Girl 13
Things went well the first time I used the new app. No problems ordering and got my food fresh. Will use it more often.
by SalnSu
We travel this route often & stop at this Dickey’s. Food is great, but staff is greater! Always friendly and helpful! 😊
Thanks

5 Stars! The only concern is that the restaurant did not appear to receive an alert that I had arrived at the appointed hour despite my using DickeysBarbecuePit to alert them to that fact.

I eat before I shop in Walmart and got a Togo bucket of ribs! Excellent BBQ ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, and sausages. Try the spicy BBQ sauce! Great service, staff, and management. You will be amazed! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The owners are so nice! They love to know their customers and do whatever it takes to keep them happy!
by Lbethr13
App is much easier to use and looks great. Good new fav feature!
by @bjg01
App has a lot of new improvements!
The app to order delivery is awful. Trying to redeem points is horrible. Why can't I redeem points without ordering $40 in food???? I tried redeeming 1250 points only to be told I couldn't check out until I had a subtotal of $40....I never ordered any food because of this and it took my 1250 points that I earned... it literally stole my earned points. Whoever put this site together needs to be fired...it's horrific.
