The Mod app was pretty problematic before and I’ve messaged the company a few times when I’ve had issues with it. Recent update has cured a lot of my ails. It’s not quite as intuitive as I’d like and I’ve encountered a few buggy things, but I love that if I want to edit something now, it still keeps my previous selections so I’m just adjusting and not totally rebuilding the pizza. I also don’t get errors where I can’t generate an order from history or favorites anymore if something is out of stock. It’s still a little buggy here where the same item isn’t always recognized, but at least now it just omits the items with problems not the whole order. Building an order for a family of 6 is really tedious and time consuming if you’re starting from scratch every time.

I don’t like how there’s some back and forth between food menu and app control menu and it’s cleared my order out on occasion when I’ve tried to adjust the location, but at least reordering from history works now so it’s not as big it a deal.

Appreciate that the devs are listening to feedback and making it more user friendly. We love the pizza and love that it’s much cleaner ingredients than your standard chain pizza places.

App UI is pretty easy to navigate, especially when ordering food. Also, having access to my rewards and being able to add rewards to my account by scanning my receipt is great. However, there are two things I’ve come across that I wish was implemented in MODPizza.

First, it would be great to have the ability to add and store gift card credit on my account in MODPizza . Then, when I go to pay for an order, I can use what’s left on my gift card first and then move to another payment. To further explain, my issue was my gift card couldn’t cover the entire cost of my order. This in turn prevented me from using my gift card to pay for my order in MODPizza , so I’ll have to wait until I go into a store or make my order total in MODPizza be less than the value of my gift card.

Second, when I select “reorder” from my order history, I would like the ability to easily change what store I am sending my order to on the resulting page. Right now, it seems to default to the last place you made the original order from and it won’t let you change it.

I like the convenience of ordering from Mod in a dedicated app, but I had a horrible experience recently. I went to order a pizza for Friday night, and the closest location (which is the default) closes early (8pm). I started my order before 7 but placed it afterwards 7:15pm. MODPizza placed my order for the FOLLOWING DAY AT NOON!!! No error message regarding closing early, nothing. It wasn’t until my food still wasn’t here at 8pm that I realized the issue. I also couldn’t cancel my order in MODPizza - despite them creating a future order!!! And MODPizza makes you contact the store - which wouldn’t open until AROUND 11am on SATURDAY! And to make matters worse, if I had ordered from another location - I would have had no trouble since the others were open until 11pm. It was a very frustrating evening for my family - we ended up eating cereal. 😖

The only reason I downloaded the iOS app today was to redeem my free pizza reward. I tapped on the actual reward within MODPizza and before I knew it I was charged the full amount. I actually like Mod Pizza so I’m not going to make a stink about it at the store (they didn’t develop MODPizza). Why offer a rewards program when customers can’t easily redeem them? Just offer the paid pizza in that case and don’t tantalize customers with the promise of a rewards program. Jfc.

I like the options available on MODPizza for ordering visually, changing pick-up modes, applying promo codes and rewards, and saving payment options. It would earn five stars from me if it still included the “favorite orders” options from a previous iteration. My family is quite boring and we tend to order the same items each time. It’s such a nice time-saver to apply a favorite order as a base and then make changes as needed. Please consider bringing this back as an option in a future update.

I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to order MOD and knows what they want. Such a pleasure to order in advance with a few taps, pay for it, earn rewards, and then walk past the line to pick up our pizzas on a Friday evening.

I love that it saves your order history making it easy to re-order. Since we’re a family of 5, we’re always ordering 5 pies or more if we have other kids or guests. One incredibly annoying flaw is that if any single ingredient on your recalled order is not available on the day you are ordering, it won’t let you order from the history. Why can’t you simply add a previous order and then modify each one as needed? C’mon. Second, when using a gift card, if the amount doesn’t cover the entire order, it won’t let you use it. This is just mind boggling. If I have a gift card with $30 but my order of >$30, it won’t apply the card and allow you to pay the remainder. These two issues drive me crazy. Please add some common sense to MODPizza!

i like mod pizza & the mod pizza staff. However MODPizza got to go. When MODPizza was upgraded recently it’s now screwed up. i order from the same mods location & each time when placing an order it ask me for my location. This new app does not store my mods gift card “EACH TIME” i place an order it ask me for that long gift card number & pin. this annoys me can someone please fix ASAP Another issue… if i make 2 separate purchases the same day it will not let me scan for points until the next day — please fix this issue also

update i took a star away — i can’t log on to MODPizza — it’s giving me error message. i tried changing my password 2 times & still won’t let me log in. App still logs me out all the time, & it does not hold my gift card info. i have to put 19 numbers + 8 more digits for the pin each time i place an order. PLEASE FIX —

Before shortages MODPizza was great. Let me start with this. We always order the same pizza when we use MODPizza . It was so easy to order, all I would need to do is hit the re-order button and presto, pickup would be easy. However MODPizza has one major flaw. You can’t edit a past order and if the location is out of just a single ingredient the entire order fails. Last week it was arugula. The week before it was basil. This week it’s chopped tomatoes. Why not give the customer the option to simply skip that ingredient and order the pizza with everything else on it? Seriously having to rebuild 2 pizzas from scratch? Seems like an easy fix. Please fix this!

I love MOD Pizza and love the fact that they have upped their vegan game by adding a vegan pizza to the menu the Willow Vegan! MODPizza is pretty good but definitely needs some more detailed customization options. For example it would be lovely to select light or extra for a topping. Additionally on the restaurant side they should be able to provide customers with more information about their location. Due to the recent staffing shortages not only have hours changed but some days our local Mod Pizza, has in person orders only and other days online only but MODPizza doesn’t make that clear.

First off, mod pizza itself is AWESOME. The employees are awesome and the food is awesome and the service is awesome.

So I open MODPizza for the first time to place an order. No problems there, actually one of the better ordering experiences. The problem was with paying for the order. First off, it’s impossible to type in the exportation date since you can’t type a / because the keyboard is a number pad. (For anyone else having this issue, copy and paste it in) but the big problem was when I hit the pay button. MODPizza said “credit card declined invalid billing address,” but I immediately got a notification from Apple wallet that my card was charged the EXACT amount as my mod pizza order.

So I go to the store annnnnd they didn’t get the order. Thankfully mod pizza employees are awesome and understood my situation and made the pizzas without charging me a second time.

Also they should just use Apple Pay, I’m sick and tired of having to give each restaurant app my credit card info each time I order since I don’t trust them to keep my credit card number secure.

It would be nice if I could choose an order from my order history and edit the order. I tried to reorder something that I had last time, and because the shop ran out of basil, I couldn’t use that order. So I had to create a whole new pizza the same except without basil. I think you could MOD MODPizza to make it easy to change. That’d be way cool

This used to be a good, simple app. Now it is very buggy with many annoyances. It automatically logs me out and turns off the Face ID so I am having to log back in. In the update, all my past orders were lost—it doesn’t save them as easy anymore. The notifications are excessive and the notification badge says there are notifications when I cannot find any when logging in. I have gone other places for lunch because MODPizza is now clunky and takes too much time to deal with. What used to take less than a minute to do to order ahead for pickup or curbside now can take several minutes or just not work at all. They had a good app! Now it’s an annoyance that deters business.

When ordering pizzas with multiple toppings, occasionally the shop doesn’t have all the ingredients listed. It would be helpful if the items they’re out of don’t appear on the list as an option. Currently, when you go to check out, an error message spears saying “(topping) is not available”. You then have to go back to the order and remove the topping item yourself. If you like a lot of toppings, this can be laborious. Seems like this could be a quick fix and prevent frustration.

If I could give this zero stars I would ...I don’t I even know where to start. While using MODPizza it looks like it belongs to the very first iPhone produced, its elementary, basic and it doesn’t even fill the whole iPhone screen like 1.0. I can no longer create a favorite pizza to save on file so now I have to build the pizza each time. I can no longer view my order history and there is an annoying notification bubble but no message and no notification. I did verify that 2.0 is compatible with my iOS currently on my phone and it is...I have also deleted and reinstalled MODPizza and nothing changed. Something is terribly wrong and it needs to be fixed STAT!!

My family and I eat at Mod every week, same location. Love the pizza, love the team at our location.

I loved MODPizza until the latest major rebuild. I use the favorites and re-order function all the time and it worked really well until a couple months ago. Now MODPizza makes me log in most of the time. And when I use favorites OR re-order it only enters one of the pizzas. I order for a family of four. Which means I need to enter all pizzas but the one that transfers over. Fix these issues (logins and favorites / re-orders) and you’ll get 5 stars from me.

MODPizza is great - easy to use, pick toppings make favorites, order BUT (and this is a big BUT) MODPizza doesn’t predict anything about how long your wait is. I arrive late regularly to my pick up time- tonight it wasn’t even close. Over 30 minutes past the pick up time. The expediter is telling us each time we walk up “We are about 30 minutes behind” - why can’t MODPizza update to that instead of not really being convenient at all for speedy pick up.

The newest version has so many issues. I am anal about being able to clear notifications and I can't with this one. It's showing I have notifications but nothing is there. Please fix it! Also it had kicked me out so I was forced to re-login but all of my favorites and my favorite store were gone. Only my point and card on file were the same. Which is almost scary to me that you can find a way to keep my card on file but every thing else was gone? What the heck? I liked the old version much better.

Hey save favorites feature. And if you already do, make it easy to find. I use MODPizza a lot, and it would be nice to be able to re-order the same thing over and over again. Maybe I missed something but it just seems like it’s changed and you know longer have that feature. Thanks

I opened up the new version today and it was confusing to use and the worst part… when I tapped the button to pay, it didn’t give me the usual options to choose which payment method! MODPizza just chose for me and went ahead and charged. I have several payment methods loaded in and I want to edit them, but nowhere on MODPizza allows me to access and edit my payment information. I went online to see if I could edit in the browser version and I can’t find it anywhere, nor can I find a “contact us” for app support. Really bad update from and excellent pizza place.

The last version was clunky but functional. The newest update is trash. I’ve had multiple issues.

One, it shows badges on MODPizza but there are no notifications within MODPizza . I am anal about clearing badges so that’s a big one for me.

Two, all my favorite orders are gone, same account, points are still there, no favorites, so much for that crazy Mad Dog variant I liked so much.

Three, it freezes often require a force quit and reopen, and that means starting everything over, including login.

Four, you have to use Face ID or you are forced to manually login every time, security is good, but if someone snags my phone, the thief ordering themselves pizza is the least of my worries.

Five, just a small glitch, but when I choose delivery and search for my store it says delivery not available in your area, but if I go directly to my store on MODPizza I can choose delivery.

Worked initially after the account setup and first receipt went through, but now it crashes after every launch. I even tried it on another iOS device thinking it was my old iPhone 5s, but it has the same behavior on a more capable device such as the iPhone SE. It must have something to do with the latest update that was pushed out not too long ago. Here I was thinking it was just the usual “bug fixes and performance improvements”. Turns out it was an update rollout that completely bricked the application. It’s shame really, because now I can’t earn the points that I was supposed to receive after eating there today. If this isn’t fixed soon, than I will most certainly miss out on my last two visits. I only just discovered this after the update was pushed to my phone, and as I was approaching the payment counter it was in a crash loop the entire time. I can’t even scan the receipt like I normally do after I pay. Please fix this soon so I don’t lose out on my two $20 purchases.

Update ver. 1.0.2: Tried it on an iPad Air 3 that I recently purchased that has the A12 processor and it works fine. I was able to sign in and add rewards points from the receipt barcode flawlessly, but on the iPhone SE it now shows an “Unable to open app” window instead of crashing. Does Mod Pizza just want the new devices using MODPizza only? I’m at a loss. If you state your compatibility is any device running iOS 10 or above, then I should be satisfying those requirements ten fold.

I was super excited to try out MODPizza and was left with disappointment. 1. Point accumulation doesn’t work. I only got the signin bonus points but the scan at the register never worked. I thought there was a lag on MODPizza side but it still hasn’t shown up in 2 weeks. 2. Order doesn’t go through. Tried 3 times to order via app. Each time gave me an error after putting payment info so I had to go into the store physically to order pizza. When I was at the register, one of the 3 tried transaction went through. That’s about 20-30min lag on MODPizza and shows how faulty MODPizza is, just on getting transactions through. 3. Wrong payment. Now I’m checking my credit card history shows that I was charged twice for the pizza cuz apparently MODPizza went through despite the errors. I now have to call my credit card company to dispute this claim. So much unnecessary stress and work on the customer’s side. I can’t believe such faulty app has went through submission and deemed ok for app release. Clearly, not enough functional testing was done on MODPizza before the release. I highly not recommend you try MODPizza. I am uninstalling this as I speak.

My issues with MODPizza are because it will give you an alert, but when you log in to MODPizza , there’s no immediate alert or message alert section. You actually have to click “something “ to get to a page where there is a task Bar with things you can select.
Food is always great! Prep is perfect even if you order via app. There’s a nice tipping function too!
That may help with prep as well, I don’t know. If it’s there , I would imagine it does.

This review is waaaaay overdue. I’ve tried using it more that a dozen times since the first and only time it’s worked; After that, nothing! Just black screen. Every. Single. Time. Regardless of internet connection/cell reception, you’re in their store or at home, using a different phone. Like other reviewers have said: only works the first time; or if you’re lucky, a second time. After that, it’s just black screen! And the sad thing is, as nice everyone in the store is, all they can say is “I have no idea”. To the developer/corporate: If you are abandoning MODPizza or in the process of updating it, at the very least, let your stores know.

If you like MOD Pizza, go into the store. I ordered online, MODPizza told me that my order had not gone through, so I pushed submit again. It charged me twice, so I figured I would address when I picked up 20 minutes later. Went to the store for pick up and..... they did not have my order. So now I’ve been charged twice for an order which I didn’t receive and have to pay for again at the store. Why? Because the local store cannot address anything that’s done online, including charges that I can prove went through. Tech is ridiculous and just wasted a lot of my time.

Like other small chain apps I’ve used in the past, the communication between MODPizza and the store is anything but real time. We decided to use MODPizza so we could order and my wife could pick it up on the way home. Ordered at 6:32. Said it would be ready at 6:52. She arrived at 6:45 and inquired “we’re working on it” as she stood there, a dozen people came in, ordered and received their pizza. Her name was finally called at 7:10, which means, they didn’t even actually queue the order until after she arrived and asked about it. Don’t waste your time, just go stand in line.

I enjoy the product but find the inability to download multiple receipts dishonest.
I go in with my kids order pizzas and drinks. Before I go the kids may want a shake or another pizza to take home. If rung on separate tickets because the orders are at different times MODPizza doesn’t allow all the receipts to be downloaded.
We have even had my kids friends join us and I pay when they come and I can’t download those either.
Mod pizza is not cheap but MODPizza limitation is. The rewards also expire which is also dishonest in my opinion.

I’ve used the application to make a pick up order twice. The first time everything went fine. The second experience felt the same; however, upon checking my bank account the next day I noticed I was charged 3 times for 1 order. Only 1 order shows up in the application orders but I have 3 charges on my card. I didn’t hit the button multiple times either because it went through one time. That’s $24 of missing money out of my account. It’s not safe to use.

I’ve been waiting foreverrrr for a MOD Pizza app. It’s a great thing for regular customers (like myself) who visit a few times a week. Had no issues adding my points with the receipt, and it’s super easy to “save” my favorite pizza order. Can’t wait to see what special deals/rewards they give out.

I cannot give any app that wants me to pay on my iPhone 5 stars unless it supports ApplePay. Sadly, Mod Pizza is anything but Mod as it doesn’t support Apple Pay. You must store a credit card, which means if Mod has a data breach, you gotta get a new card.

Come on, Mod, get with the 21st Century!

I use MODPizza to order to-go from the Kingwood East store two to three times per week. Always works flawlessly and this store always has my order waiting for me. They are friendly and it is a perfect experience.

Downloaded MODPizza at the restaurant and thought it would be easier and faster to signup using my Facebook sign in. Big Mistake! After downloading, I could no longer use my FB app or messenger. Later, someone tried several times to login to my account in a different state, but I had already changed my password. Still after a day cannot use my apps and I run a business through social media. I am very angry about this!!

MODPizza just crashes on start up and if you made it past the loading screen it says “app cannot be loaded”. What a shame, I frequent you guys almost every 3 days, but I won’t bother anymore. Already scammed me by making my points expire, and now they’re going to expire again. Here’s my personal recommendation, just let us scan / redeem points on your website. That would make everyone’s lives easier.

love MODPizza . love the rewards and how easy MODPizza is to work. the only thing I don’t really like is 1$=1point so you have to spend 150$ to get a free pizza or salad. it’s not a problem on how much you have to spend, it’s just how slow the awards rack up especially if you’re a single eater.

I made an online order through MODPizza and chose the ASAP option, but the order came through to the restaurant as 20 minutes from when I ordered. So my pizza wasn’t even started when I arrived at the restaurant. Also the credit card scanner didn’t work for my discover card. Please add Apple Pay option and Siri shortcut for favorite
