Yes

This game is probably the best environment/puzzle mobile game ever. It uses the minimalist’s art styling, but instead of the over defined/under defined object textures that many mobile games use, it employs a soft yet consistent coloring. I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t seen any of those colors used in other games, probably because they don’t pop. this app uses these muted colors and combines them perfectly, making each color seem its own. And the gameplay itself is astounding. Simple, short, hard, and easy. Detail is something that at first glance isn’t really there, but as the levels progress, you’re forced to take a look at your surroundings, and you notice these small objects that you maybe haven’t noticed. When it clicks together, it’s a very gratifying feeling. Amazing game. Thank you for putting in effort, something that you don’t really see these days, and thank you for creating such an amazing game.

It’s “supposed” to be short!

Before I explain the title, I want to give huge kudos to the developers. It’s one thing to have a unique idea, but to execute it with universal understanding and care for the player is super rare. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Now, many of the reviews mention how short the game is. Well, the game itself follows the theme, that we are to focus on two things: the feeling of when something is gone, and how we react to it. The game ending so soon is no different than the items we’ve removed in the levels... we feel “this app” when something we’ve “had” in our lives is now gone. And, our varied reactions challenge how we cope with that “loss”.

For me, I’m happy to have experienced it, and to cherish the time we spend with things and people we enjoy. Again, thank you for the journey and the lessons gained.

Nice game

Thank you for making this game. It’s original and well-executed.

I’d love to toss a couple bucks at the developer(s), but I’m only willing to do that through Empty Store, and I didn’t see an obvious way to do that. I am not going to use another payment system, and in fact I almost never let the apps I load touch the open internet due to all the embedded surveillance-ware libraries. That’s one thing I love about this game - it can be played to its fullest completely offline.

One suggestion, and this applies to many small or independent developers; the way many apps used to work is that you’d have a free “demo” version with a limited number of levels or features and a paid version with everything. This is perfect. It keeps the payment system completely within Empty Store, protecting the user, and makes it easy to both sample the product and pay for it if it’s appealing.

Don’t get me wrong, the notion of just “putting it all out there” is appealing. That said, I just finished the game and came here looking to contribute, but seeing no easy way to do so, I thought I’d write a review with feedback instead. Again, thank you for this game, it was fun.

It's a work of art

I download Empty simply because I was bored and wanted something to do to pass time. The more time I spent solving puzzles I also learned many things. How something so simple is yet so interesting. No scores or timers, just you and the puzzle. Their are no ads or pay walls, they built the game on donations. I would donate as well but I'm only 16 so... But throughout each level their is a phrase with a deeper meaning behind it. I saved some of them because they spoke to me in a more spiritual manner. And Empty really did make me open up my eyes to a new way of thinking. So thank you to everyone who made this. And overall just an amazing experience and definitely recommend to anyone who feels life is just more than simplicity

Beautiful and soothing!

I pre-ordered Empty and I'm so glad I did! I've only been playing it for an hour or so today, but I'm loving it. The music is so relaxing, the aesthetics are cool, and the concept is so clever! So far, the puzzles aren't super difficult. As you continue inn the game, the scenes become more intricate, but they don't make you frustrated. Everything seems to be well-executed, though I think I got a bug in the lighthouse level. The colors weren't changing when the anchor and propeller were left, but then I restarted the level and was able to solve it. I think if you like Monument Valley you'd like this. This is such a high-quality game, there are no ads to run the atmosphere. Please support these developers and this really chill game!!

Must Play

This game took me all of thirty minutes to finish, but its not about the time, it’s about the journey. The gameplay was very fresh and simple; meaning that anyone could play. The levels were fun and medium in their difficulty in my opinion. I didn’t use any hints, but I could see how the feature could be useful since some objects may be hard to match with their colors at times. I also enjoyed that there wasn’t any ads, but I encourage writing reviews because you can tell the developers spent a long time on this project. Overall, the game was unique and refreshing to play, and the music also provided a serene ambiance which really helped me wind down for the day. Definitely recommend.

Mrs. Zen

I have never written a review on any game before because I keep telling myself that although I love these games/apps, they’re still not worthy of a review but yet again, here I am, finally writing a review on a game, that I must say, is fascinating and just the best game I’ve ever played. It’s calming and profound game, it’s simple and life changing might I say. I love it. I started playing it yesterday and although anyone can finish it in less then day, I wanted to go slow, to actually mediate and analyze its simplicity. I don’t know if I’ll every write a review on another game but this one is worth of a five star review and recommend it to anyone who is willing to take their time and relax and reflect on life through its simplicity.

Simply Amazing

I pre ordered this game because I had thought it looked interesting and I couldn’t remember playing anything like it before and it was wonderful. I don’t have much to say about this game besides the fact that it’s amazing and extremely fun to play. There isn’t a crap ton of levels to play that’s for sure but the levels that are there were very fun and took some time to complete them. I do hope that there will be more levels added in the future but I’m extremely satisfied with all the levels that are there now. I have never played a game like this before at least to my knowledge I’d love to see more like this from the devs. This game is Simply Amazing.

I Miss It

This game holds on the fact that you won’t miss anything in the room that your clearing, and for me it’s hard to know wether that’s true or not. I do know, that I miss the game, which I think is a pretty good compliment for a game that’s so simplistic and short. It being so short is sort of the reason why I miss it, I feel like I didn’t get enough. I wouldn’t call it relaxing cause you can’t really get that feeling from an app, but it definitely counts as a small break compared to other apps. I’ll admit, the small sentences in between each level are extremely corny, but that doesn’t make the game and less good. Idk how to end this so I’m just gonna say yeah, I like the game.🙄✨

Simple Beauty

Although this game’s design is very simple, once you get to play it and really pay attention to it, it turns into a work of art! this app doesn’t use drastic coding but it also doesn’t feel like a lazy project. Some colors are bright but the way they put those bright colors with dark ones makes it comfortable for the eye. I really fell in love with some of the rooms to the point of even creating ones just like them! I don’t mind that this app is short because it feels complete; it told its story very carefully through the phrases and it’s ending was simple but perfect!

Congratulations on this app.
It is really a work of art.

A Short Little Gem

Rarely these days do you find an app that's fun, pretty unique, and entirely free with no ads or in-app purchases. This is one of those games and it should be praised for it.
Not only is this a pretty unique little puzzle game, it's also pretty fun. The game itself doesn't ever get too complicated or add new mechanics once you know how to play but it's short run time and the enjoyment of solving fun puzzles makes sure that this isn't an issue.
If there was an update to this game adding something like a level pack with ~20 more levels for 1 or 2 dollars I would definitely give it a buy.

The Perfect Cooldown Puzzler

This game could not be what it attempts to be any better. It’s a short, sweet, ambient, relaxing puzzle game that you’ll spend one enjoyable hour on.

The puzzle itself is simple- it’s a form of knot theory that’s as satisfying to solve as untangling four pairs of headphones (and I mean that in the most positive way possible). There are no dead ends, you’ll never need to restart, so there’s never any element of stress. If you keep looking at the set from new angles, you’ll always get one step closer to the solution. Even when introducing more complex mechanics that could force you to think a few moves ahead or risk failure, they keep it simple and never put you in a position where you can make a mistake. It matches the tone of Empty very well.

The assets compliment this tone beautifully. The music and elegant architecture is enough to keep you visually engaged throughout each puzzle.

Overall, Empty was the best hour I’ve spent playing a puzzle game designed for mobile.

Woah…

This was a beautiful game. The soundtrack made it so peaceful, and it was challenging without becoming annoying. The messages in between levels made me ponder on these topics that seemed so out of this world to me before playing. The topic of emptiness was so enlightening and it amazes me how well put together this game was. I am barely 14 years old, but the game still resonated with me. It was short, but I think it was the perfect length to let the players be sent off and take their own understanding to apply it to our world. Thank you, developers, for making such a wonderful game. I enjoyed it the whole way through.

Deserves 5 stars

This game was AMAZING! The graphics and color are very eye appealing and the puzzles were calming to solve. I wish there were more levels tho, cause it is that addictive to play. The music put ur mind at ease and was the perfect app to play to make time fly by.
The puzzles at first are kinda hard but it gets easier as u go. I wish there were options for how u want to play the game( like timed, hard , easy, etc.) I also wish the game had more defined way on how to solve the puzzles. Also MORE LEVELS!!
This game is very good and I will hope to see more apps like this.

Such a nicely made and relaxing game!

I downloaded Empty because I was looking for a good puzzle game and came across this one and I adore this game so much. First off, I love the art style of this game and the music is subtle to the right amount. Then the puzzles start off easy but then get a bit harder and were so much fun to play. I finished the game in two days though, so I do wish it was a bit longer and got even more challenging with added levels, but apart from that, I absolutely love this game and would love to see more levels in the future!

If Konmari was an IOS Game...

If you want to feel what Marie Kondo secretly plays when sitting on her toilet, this is it. The game — designed entirely around hypnotic Eno-esque ambient earcandy, you are an outsider that deconstructs places and spaces over time from 3/4 D to 2 (to 1/none!) simply by changing your angle... like a post-existentialist God of Nothingness re-perceiving a fleeting illusion of an architect’s creation; not unlike the device you game on itself: the Nihilistic Physicist’s Vacuum State, the Hindu moksha path of Kaivalya not Samadhi, or the Islamic Al-Lah (The No Thing). Buy Dustyroom’s soundtrack and play it before falling asleep. Can’t wait for an immersive VR version!

If IKEA was a game, this would be it!

The graphics are minimalistic, but enough to mesmerize you. The audio is deep and spot on. Best of all, there are no ads that will ruin the amazing experience. The puzzle are hard enough to tease you brain a bit, but not too hard that it’ll make you want to chuck your phone across the room. The only reason why I wrote this review was to get you (the reader) to become interested in this game so that the devs will gain more popularity. Which in turn will allow them to publish more of these amazing games for us :D

Exceeds expectations

I never review games, but this one was so nice, relaxing, and it makes you think a little. It’s all about perception and it’s a delightful little game. It’s probably about an hour or so all the way through, and I wish there was more, but I’m really impressed with the developer than their team. I’d even be willing to pay $2 or $3 for it. If they make more games like this and they put a price on it, I’m definitely going to support them.

Great job, and I look forward to more of your work in the future! ❤️

Passion Project

You can tell the creators of this game developed this out of love for their art. It is completely free and absolutely beautiful. There aren’t many mobile games out there that make me go “wow,” but this was definitely one of them. Sure, it was quick and pretty easy, but it stretched my perspective and brought a little wonder to my day. Fully recommend. Wish more games out there were like this (or maybe not, because then I’d be playing artistic games all day, haha.). Love it when I can find gems like this.

I loved every second

I never write reviews on apps. Ever. However I struggle with a lot of dissociation and depersonalization and was having a small episode of such, and this game gave me something to train my mind on. The sound and the colors were never too much and just the right amount of stimulation needed to bring me back. I love it, I'm emotional writing about it even though I finished it a few minutes ago. 10/10 would definitely play it again.

Short and Relaxing

Many mobile games have no end. That can be a good thing. It means there are games you can turn to every day so your hands have something to do. But eventually, the game gets so repetitive, you just leave it for weeks, months, maybe years. This isn't that type of game. It isn't endless. It does not overstay its welcome. This game could be finished in a quick part of your day. And for that quick part, it will take you away from your routine with gorgeous music and a simple art style with one goal: get rid of everything in the room. You this app your room, you this app your mind for a little bit. It is a wonderful way to relax.
