With a new look and easy-to-use features, this app is the most convenient way to
keep track of your loans from your mobile devices. It’s simple to check your
balances, make payments, view previous transactions, and more. And now you can
enroll your loans in auto debit right from the app....
Whoever is reading this please do not take it personally. I’d give you a 5-star review if this weren’t about to turn out exactly like the housing market crash of 2008 and cause the next Recession. I sincerely hope all of your CEOs get to experience life-crippling loan debt like the rest of us Americans. Since the wage-gap is only increasing between Americans, maybe you should consider lowering your “affordably low” interest rates to affordably low interest rates instead. Or you could just feed the beast and continue being part of the problem, profiting on the suffering of other people. Oh right I forgot you’re a bank.
The update ruined things
The app used to be helpful, until the update. I’ve never has to change my password so many times because “the credentials” didn’t match, when clearly the saved password matches the initial login until I go to manually type it in and suddenly IT DOESNT WORK WHEN IT DID ALL OTHER TIMES BEFORE WHEN IT WAS AUTO LOADED (yes, I checked the log key). The sad part is, when the password is ACTUALLY wrong, the message says “This password is incorrect and you have two attempts remaining” which I find utterly and amazing irritating. This should be looked into because ppl try their best to ACTUALLY make payments and keep getting these msgs and can only harbor so many passwords until things just get complicated.
Sallie Mae app
Super easy and convenient. No need to use a computer or even open up a web browser on your phone. I like that you log in and it clearly tells you the amount you have to pay and by what date. You can turn on your notifications, and the app will even remind you when your payment is due. The app is simple and enables you to pay your bill on time. I highly recommend.
They don’t want us to pay
This app is pretty crappy. It’s hard to find much information on my loan. But my main complaint: Since I have overpaid each month by a little bit, for the past several months, the app tells me I have “no payment due.” This is total crap. I have to figure out myself when my payment is due, figure out if/what I’ve paid each cycle, and make a payment within parameters that I figure out. All other student loan servicers I have used will still give due date, payment due, and if I’ve paid that month. This app is terrible and they are just trying to scam us into not paying so we owe more in the long run.
App is great
I absolutely love this app for paying. It makes making payments so easy, especially with the finger print sign in. I always seem to forget my password, so this is so much better. As for Sallie Mae itself, come on man... 8% interest on student loans? Society tells us we need college to be successful and then make us have to do this. With you and the federal government combined I have $160k in loans for my law degree. This is ridiculous. #Bernie2020
This app makes it so easy to pay. I don’t have to wait till I’m at a computer, I can just open the app and take care of business ASAP. It would be nice if the summaries of the loan(s) showed the accumulated interest. To make it easier to keep a eye on that number. At the moment, I have to use my computer to log into the site and hunt for a recent statement to see my accrued interest.
Great App but I want more Features
I love the simplicity of this app in viewing my loan balances, information on those loans, and amount due. Although those are very useful, there isn’t much that gets me excited. I’d like to see a progress tab that shows my progress on paying off my total balance and each separate loan balance. Also a line graph of my progress over time would be nice to see. I like how Student Loan Hero sets up their platform, Sallie Mae should do the same.
App messes up your credit score
The app lets you put a “bank” in order to pay but it doesn’t specify between bank or credit card and will accept payment from a credit card and processes it like normal only for it to bounce back a week later and say you are late paying!!! Even though it took them so long to process and your credit card says it never paid them?!? The app is worthless and I have to call each time to resolve and pay on the phone and be bounced around agent by agent - if you have to call make sure you get the person name and agent #number !
The newest update is meant to cost their customers money.
There is a reason I’m writing this review as my first, the new update is horrible. They no longer giver you the option to pay more than the min. amount due on mobile. A very sneaky and despicable thing to do, now you can’t lower your interest by overpaying on mobile. Sallie Mae does not have your best interests in mind, just whatever makes them the most money. AKA you never paying more than the interest early, and thus you never lower your principal. Their UI is terrible and built AROUND trying to keep you in debt. They are awful and their whole business mode is OBVIOUSLY built around taking advantage of the students they give loans to. STAY ABSOLUTELY ON TOP OF THEM, make sure you’re principal is actually being lowered, etc. THEY ARE SLEAZY AND DONT DESERVE YOUR TRUST (or business if you have that option.) We both know what you’re doing sallie Mae. Fix this terrible strategy and fire who cam up with it.
Good enough information about each loan
Good app with enough details about each of my loans. It is easy to navigate from one loan to next and back as needed. It would have been even better if we have the option to enroll in auto payments in the app itself. If it was already there I wouldn’t have gotten 2 missed payments while my 6 other loans all already enrolled. Good work on the app anyway! Thanks
App bill is wrong!
The app is very simple and the first screen shows you what you owe. I put in my banking information to pay and I got a confirmation that said “paid” and the date. Then one week later the app says my bill is past due and there’s fees to pay along with it. I look in the app and it still shows the date and I paid. Called Sallie Mae and the total for what I should be paying was different than the app and the money was never taken from my account. They fixed everything over the phone but I wouldn’t recommend the app.
So Helpful- Extremely Convenient
I found myself panicking every month if I had paid my loan payment or not, but since I got this app it’s much easier to tell. Knowing if i owe a payment or if I’m making an extra payment is great; the app just makes paying bills a lot more convenient, and there’s Face ID available 😍
This company is trash
My biggest frustration is that I can’t use a credit card to pay my student loans unless it is past due. That is trash. I should be able to pay how I need to. When I need to. To re review this: praying of college students with 10% interest is trash. College degrees are almost mandatory for bad jobs.... and the fact that they truly do not want to make it possible to pay it back with out you living broke. I just hope one day they are forced to give all the money back they made us pay. Education should be free
Changes of the app
I dislike that it is more difficult to look up past transactions, statements, and to compare and contrast how much I owe to how much I want to pay. I can’t see my history as easily as before. Seems like the app is now just a hub for payment. I used the app to look at more than just what you need to receive from me right now. The new structure makes it seem like you don’t care about anything other receiving payment. It’s much simpler to pay now with the changes but everything else is more complicated.
Bank account Number
I tried to made a payment with my bank account number. Just because when I was making the payment and I didn’t put save account for cute payments, the transacción was rejected by Sallie Mae. Sounds like is mandatory to leave your account number on records. I am NOT agree with this condition.
