I wish there was a negative star

Your service does not deserve a one star, it’s a one star too many. The only good thing about your App is to order; after that everything goes downhill. I have made a total of 3 orders from your app and my experiences have been nothing to write home about. I have complained to your useless chat handler on JumiaFood , and was asked to send a mail for services paid for and not rendered. If that was all I had left, I would have died of hunger because after 3 mails there has been no response just automated messages acknowledging my mails.
The last experience was a joke. I made an order to be delivered at 11am, delivery guy calls that he has been in a minor accident and would be on his way after attending to himself. He calls back an hour later that he had arrived. He actually brought a delivery of rice that has scattered all over the nylon with little or nothing left in the bowl. And he asked if I would collect it. It was a messy sight, as anyone could imagine. He promised to get another bowl delivered. Meanwhile I had called Jumia customer care, I had tried chatting and later wrote several emails. Till this moment, I have received no food, no call back, no response to my email and no refund. Shame on you! Please refund my N1300.

Crappy app!!!

First of all, there is no English interface in Morocco! However, I managed to translate whatever I wanted and placed my order successfully. Then I went to the bathroom for 5 minutes, out to find one missed call on my phone and JumiaFood mentioning that the order is cancelled!! And the customer service initial reply was “the number is not working” then when I went mad, they claimed that they contacted me more than 3 times with no response!!! So, rude attitude and above all ... liars! Where I live, you don’t cancel the order when you try to reach the customer ONCE and you cannot reach him/her. You only try to reach the customer by phone only if you need to clarify further about the order! Ruined my day!

Terrible Experience

I have been a long time Jumia food app user as far back as 2018 and it’ used to be an awesome experience. However, recently the quality of service has declined. There seems to be a lack of communication between Jumia and the vendors. On many occasions after placing an order, the vendor unilaterally cancels the order without same being reflected on JumiaFood or in some other instances the vendor doesn’t act on the order without communicating same, so you end up waiting for a delivery in vain. This needs serious fixing. Also, getting a refund processed after an order is cancelled is apparently a headache of its own. PLS FIX!

So bad that the developers can’t do their best and try to make some small changes in JumiaFood ,
It’s so dis pointed that i can’t configure the section of the food in the restaurant or i can’t take the order cuz it’s just a fraudulent offers that’s make you pay online and didn’t get what did you request..
so the way i used all my apps is so smart and easy to me cuz we are in 2019 so the movement inside JumiaFood is very difficult and the normal customer he will cancel the order before he place it like i did ..
it’s just like an advertisement that the company pay to have more stupidity inside the people minds

I’ve ordered food from KFC, I’ve paid via my credit card, the order was cancelled and the payment was confirmed since I’ve checked my bank account, I’ve claimed expense and It has been 3 months now and I haven’t received anything. Knowing that I was always in touch sending e-mail and stuff, they’ve told that I’ll get back my money, just check the wallet balance in Jumia Pay when I’ve checked I’ve found nothing so they were just playing around and stole people’s money..So, don’t install JumiaFood because tbh it’s useless and they’re not professionals. They don’t give a f* of the customer, what it matters only for them is money.

Worst customer service

I placed my order and a few minutes I was told the order has been confirmed and the count down began. An hour later the agent called me to inform me that the order is not available. I tried to explain to him that I need to make another order now because I have a family to feed and I need to get a voucher equivalent to the loss but the agent said he can only email it to me the next day and that it will only be 50% which is the voucher given for late order (not incomplete orders as is my case). I was appalled that he didn't seem to understand that I had relied on their service to provide food and had lost the time it takes to go out and buy my own food. The voucher to be emailed for the next day was not going to resolve the problem of the night. I am very disappointed with Jumia Food.

Horrible management and customer service.

Unfortunately my food is been delayed by over an hour three times in the last two weeks. When I called to speak to somebody they always say let me call you back in five minutes and nobody ever calls me back. So I end up calling 30 minutes later and talking to a completely different person which they assure me that the problem is being resolved and I will get my food as soon as possible. When I do get the food that’s already late it is soggy and cold. I will not be using JumiaFood again and will be using their competitors app Simba food will see if they are any better. I recommend that you do not use JumiaFood it would be faster to hope in a cap and go get your food.

Terrible customer service

JumiaFood is a great idea that isn’t carried out well in practice. When things work, they work well. As soon as something goes wrong with the order, it is impossible to get a hold of customer service. I’ve called 15 times in a row during working hours and nobody answers. On the rare chance the call goes through, the employee always says there isn’t anything they can do to solve the problem. I have lost so much money and time to Jumia throughout the years. They need to staff more customer service agents and actually train them on how to actively solve problem instead of repeating the same “sorry, we can’t do anything” line from their script.

Your business started well but over the years is getting worse. Yesterday I received food with no receipt and when I double checked after the guy left I realize he did not give me 1000 as part of the balance. So you have drivers who are being dishonest and careless. Today, I ordered and it is coming late, yet I’ve had no indication of compensation. And finally, anytime I ring your number the network is so bad. I don’t know what kind of phone you’re using but it is very frustrating. There are other few delivery companies starting to come up which I will be using in future if you people don’t top up very fast. Typical for businesses here… They start well and then go downhill very fast.

We’ve used JumiaFood a few times now and it’s really hit or miss. Sometimes it works perfectly. Sometimes one goes through the process of selecting food and then find on the payment page the selected restaurant is actually closed.

We’ve had it work perfectly once. Fingers crossed that the current order is okay. There are also very few options. The rating is three stars because it kinda works, kinda doesn’t, and I look forward to another competitor jumping into this space.

Following on my previous review, the map option is quite bad. I know there are not addresses in Senegal, but one cannot select a place on the map without putting in an address. When I move the map to the correct location the address is lost. It’s a constant battle to fight JumiaFood to get the food.

Horrible customer service

I used the application multiple times, yeah the deals are great. But food always gets cold, and 3 times my order was missing some stuff, and after debating with customer service I got a voucher of the amount of the missing food that I paid for, and once I made an order using the voucher the order was cancelled and I lost the voucher and the customer service stated it was a one time use, the agent even started debating with me when I’m trying to get my voucher or my money’s worth back, he stated “What is wrong with you” which is nothing like a customer service experience should be like! Multiple other issues occurred and never have I ordered from them without problems, I really hope they improve their delivery and customer service!

Do not refund for missing items

I ordered from Mister Wok, I noticed right away after opening my bag of food my spring rolls was missing. I reached out to Jumia immediately to inform them of error. Also after tasting food it was disgusting. I requested for food to be picked up and needed refund for old nasty food. To this day I do not have refund for missing item. I understand they did not acknowledge gross food but at least refund me for the food I did not receive. I have reached out many times regarding my order but no help from customer service. However, my other orders which are correct, I have no complaints.

App works...but customer service needs to improve

I’ve used JumiaFood to order food countless times. The application itself works very well. The U/I is straightforward and user friendly. This review has to do more with the poor customer service as often times the food delivery is delayed. The riders will at times mark the food delivery without having actually delivered it. When you attempt to call Jumia to determine the status of your delivery, often times you cannot get through. As a consumer, I don’t feel valued when experiencing these type of challenges. Jumia needs to do something about if it actually values its customers.

Online payment doesn’t work, but otherwise a good app.

App works well and support is good. But after the first 5 or so orders, online payment started giving some funny problems, as it would keep going back to the login page even after I put in my details again (it had already been stored and used to order previously).

Therefore, I am now only able to order and pay at delivery, and no longer able to pay online with my card, which can be an inconvenience if one has to go to the ATM first.

This flaw is the only reason I’m giving it 3 stars and not 5, or even 6!

Annoying

The most annoying thing about this delivery app, you order the food, they call and confirm IMMEDIATELY. Cool. BUT THEN the delivery guy calls and asks you to WhatsApp him. Then on WhatsApp, he asks a million times what your location is. You send a map screenshot. They can’t see it. You send your address, they have no clue, you literally have to give ur geographic coordinates. SUPER inconvenient. If the Jumia person can call with my exact info and address where is the breakdown in communication that the driver has NO IDEA how to find me?? STOP HIRING DRIVERS WHO DONT HAVE DATA ON THEIR PHONES/NO GPS WITHOUT WIFI. It’s my duty to pay for the food, not guide the driver to my house. That shouldn’t be my problem!!!! Also, they offer a lot of discount codes and when you try to apply them, they disappear at checkout. A very annoying bug.

Jumia is the best

The food almost always arrives before the estimated time. The delivery people are friendly.

The only bad thing about JumiaFood is I can’t pay with credit card because Jumia Pay doesn’t work. I’ve contacted Jumia and they just replied that there was no problem but I’ve deleted JumiaFood and reinstalled and tried all sorts of things, but it doesn’t work.

Good but basic

When an order is straight forward or there are no adjustments needed, then it’s great. If I want to add anything, subtract anything, adjust, anything other then what’s exactly on the menu, it gets difficult.
I would like to see more options.
Example, to call them from JumiaFood , cancel or adjust the order immediately, additional items such as “no onions”, things like that.

Quarantine Life Saver... But no Uber Eats!

JumiaFood is a quarantine lifesaver getting food, groceries, medicines, and other supplies delivered during this crazy pandemic. But it’s not like Uber Eats in other countries where things are as they seem. With Jumia you never know when the driver will show up, and he may or may not have change. Also the food may not be exactly what you ordered, vendors often substitute without asking, especially true with the groceries. Still though, nothing better is available in Kampala, and I am very grateful for the Jumia Food App. Just wish they spent a bit more on programming and got the kinks worked out of JumiaFood better.

Great app

JumiaFood is great in Mombasa and customer service has always been fantastic. They’ve helped when restaurants have taken too long and when restaurants have forgotten items.

I’m looking forward to the addition of more restaurants and to continue using JumiaFood ! It reminds me of Postmates in the US but with the chance to be better :)

The addition of promocodes would be cool for avid users as a way to say thank you

Decent in Kampala

JumiaFood does exactly what it’s meant to do, and on rare occasions when things go wrong the support team usually calls me. There should be better compensation when mistakes are made however, I have had situations where the restaurant delivering the food or JumiaFood has some kind of miscommunication and when they do finally bring the food it’s cold and soggy... Jumia should hold restaurants responsible for making a fresh order or at least throw something extra in, discount, voucher for next order with that restaurant, along those lines. When my order finally came in late and cold and soggy they didn’t even have the decency to put include some sauce smh WHERE DA SAUCE

All timing on the delivery are always wrong you will always wait for more hours(2 or 3) for your food to be delivered. For me personally I will never use JumiaFood!!! Coz when you’re hungry an order from JumiaFood you’re buying your death wish. Realistically, It’s better for you to take a flight from LAGOS to ABUJA and eat, coz the the food is not going to be delivered and this is for real coz it happened to me. The fact that you can even call effective customer services and yet they can’t do anything about it makes it even sad, unfortunate and waste of valuable time.

Am sorry to say this but am not satisfied at all. JumiaFood work well but the service is no worthy . I have orderd food from one of the restaurants listed and it directs me to the payment session which i have used M-pesa and I paid. I didn’t even got an option to select cash on delivery but i believed that will gone be fine as long us they commit and deliver the food for me. but , as a matter of fact they say the vender(restaurant ) declined your order . they also left me with no options and even days after I did not get my refund. What a nonsense 😠

Good app but needs some fixes

JumiaFood ’s definitely good but it needs to be perfected. Also it’s frustrating to find that some of the options don’t work and there are bugs that need to be fixed. Also needs the right pictures for the restaurant dishes. Other than that I always use it, it’s very practical and easy to use. Keep up the good work and give us a more perfect version of the Jumia Food app.

Excellent App!

Generally JumiaFood works really well. It has never failed to get my food ordered and delivered -especially helpful on this days I'm pressed for time or just don't feel like going out. There is sometimes a long delay between placing an order and having the restaurant confirm. But that is likely an issue with certain restaurants rather than a problem with JumiaFood .

Functionality of app and Service are all good.

JumiaFood hardly ever crashes or hang so I’m pleased about that (iPhone X). With regard to the service it tells me 1hr and brings within 1hr. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that because they do what they say; And whenever there is a problem with my order Jumia informs me and I am able to act accordingly.
