It takes getting used to

I was a Firefly member and had no problem transitioning from that credit union to Trust One... excuse me; this app (auto-correct).
TruStone works technically the same with an extra step. I was used to clicking on Checking, for example, and seeing all the transactions. Instead TruStone brings me to a screen list of all the things I can do and I have to press “transactions” to see them. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
The list should be separate. I should be able to choose what I want to do and then choose the account(s) I want to look at. In lieu of this, the list could be a page afterwards. Transaction History should show first after clicking the name, it’s the most important in my opinion and for me at least it’s the screen I want to see. As is, it’s an unneeded extra step.
Everything else about TruStone is fantastic. The way all the accounts appear to “update” when logging in brings my attention to each one that has changed. TruStone also shows a detail for interest earned. Again using my Checking account, I see an effective interest rate paid. If it’s on tiers it’s shown as a “split rate” combining the different rates and dividing by the amounts of each tier to arrive at the overall rate paid. Kudos!

Not the credit union I would choose

I lost my job a couple of years ago and got behind in my home equity loan. I was with Firefly credit union. Instead of working to right the ship, this app froze my accounts, stopped my automatic payments and then lied to me about my visa not once, not twice, but three times about it. Had they been upfront about their practices I might have considered changing credit unions or at the very least spent ALOT less time attempting to figure out why my credit card did not work. On my fourth attempt to figure out my credit card not working and fourth trip into their location I was told my credit card was frozen because of my outstanding home equity loan. Funny thing was the loan had been paid in full for two months. I find that working with them is difficult at best. Nobody seems to know what is going on and nobody wants to give bad news. The merger between Firefly and this app left a very bad impression with most of the Firefly members that I have talked to and certainly me.

Good but mobile deposit ok

So far so good on most things! Pretty straightforward on balances, transferring money, etc. Check deposit is just ok. The checks I receive from my work have a “check here for mobile deposit” box. However, this app doesn’t recognize that box. I need to physically write “for mobile deposit only” under my signature and even then, every single deposit is “pending further review.” Maybe this is normal for this app but worth my last credit union I never had these extra steps. You also CANNOT link your mortgage to your bank account. It is a completely separate site and log in. Again, different from my last credit union. Now I again have that extra step. All in all I’m very happy with this app, these should be extras added to the user friendly experience.

Nonfunctional

TruStone does not show complete titles for bill pay so you can’t tell what you are seeing. You also can’t get the views to change by selecting the buttons so I can’t even see what bills are already scheduled to pay. I have never been able to get it to actually process a mobile deposit across 5 attempts, and when it appears to go through I still get emails that it is not deposited and is actually under review. (It does not say why.) Funds that show as available in TruStone have been not actually available for transfer, resulting in fees when TS says there are not sufficient funds. I am NOT impressed with this shoddy app as it actually decreases myeffectiveness while adding stress rather than the opposite. Fix it, please!

Subpar

Sign out is hidden behind too many menu’s have to click hamburger menu, then tap on my name on bottom (not listed with other options that first show up there); then it unhides sign out and then have to tap sign out. With a banking app you would think this would be more prominent to protect your data.

Also within transactions view it says “Withdrawl_ach_withdrawl” and you have to click on each value to then see at the end of a long string the actual identifier of what was the withdrawal for. Could be a bug; but very annoying in current state.

Works well for basic functions

I use it to mobile deposit checks and look at my balance. Most bills are on autopay. I don’t think I’ve written a check in about 5 years.
Only time I had an issue was after I updated iOS but TruStone did it have an update for about 2 days later to fix a bug where I couldn’t photo back of check. Once I updated app it worked again. That’s the only issue I’ve ever had. Like the thumbprint verification feature on iPhone 7.

Fast transfer

This is my fist on time transfer and am not sure if it would go through same day. I give it a five starts because I love this app and I’ve been with them for over three years now. I’d just moved to Cleveland and have not seen another brunch anywhere close. But It’s still okay

Could use some improvements

There are a couple things I’ve noticed that could be a bit more streamlined. I share a joint credit card account with my partner, but I do have my own card with my name on it. I’d like to be able to pay off the balance myself rather than needing to go online via computer.

I also can’t view the credit card account through my own user profile in order to check the balance—I have to use her’s. Not sure if this is an issue with TruStone or the way the banking system is set up.

A Step Backwards

The this app use of Banno OLB is a HUGE step backward in functionality compared to the Firefly Q2 offering. So disappointing to lose the advantages of the services that members have enjoyed with the previous online banking product. The product doesn’t display running balances with the transactions. The posted transactions descriptions are useless. The financial budgeting and FICO score features are gone. The account naming feature doesn’t exist. There is more to list here but really I’ll focus my time on finding a new financial provider that brings online tools to the table that are useful. ONE departing comment - Not related to OLB the loss of SecureLock was HUGE. That was a differentiator tool to manage ATM / DEBIT cards.

Mobile app

I find TruStone so useful on a day-to-day basis. I rarely have to contact the bank by phone.

More importantly, it is so user friendly even someone whose is not computer literate can use it. However, I sometimes miss talking to the cheery and informative people at the bank’s help
line.

Car loan

I’ve been making extra payments on my car loan. I called several times asking if my extra payment was being applied towards interest. Every time I called I was told it was and when I asked why it looked like it was I was told it was but I’m a round about way. Finally after my third call I reached a person who explained it was not being applied to my principal at all. I’m very upset with the information this bank provides to its customers and will never finance a vehicle with them ever again.

Improvements to app needed

Why does “credit card loan advance” appear for each credit card purchase instead of the actual store where the purchase is made? This is jargon that doesn’t make sense unless you work there. Why can’t I transfer to another persons account through TruStone ? And it’s only available by calling and talking to someone. This is better than the version before, but seriously consider collecting “voice of the customer” to make improvements to what WE need and want from TruStone . I want to be able to nickname the accounts.

Neighborhood Credit union

I opened my account because I could deposit cash tips into my account with the ATM. Turns out the online banking and Truestone application does it all! Easy to view account activity, transfer funds and set up bill pay.

If I need additional help the branch associates are friendly and helpful!!

True stones mobile app is wonderful!

I live about 30 miles from the closest branch and being able to make a deposit of checks via my mobil app is great. Definitely a step up!

Good app, similar to desktop website

TruStone works pretty well. Only time I can remember having an issue logging in was when the system was overloaded with too many members logging in to see if their stimulus checks arrived.

Otherwise the service is great! Can’t think of any major downsides to it.

Mobile checking

It is very difficult to deposit your check mobile but it’s extra difficult when you’re not told that you must write mobile only and you’re expecting your funds to be available and it’s not because you wasn’t told that it has to have that on it in order for it to deposit.

Transaction Alerts Broken

Transaction alerts were already delayed to begin with when the firefly to this app shift happened. But they did eventually appear, until the ceased suddenly over these last few weeks. Not sure why as all other apps are sending notifications on my phone, and the transaction alert I set up is still listed in app settings. Disappointing.

Very disappointed

Ever since I changed over from Wells Fargo I’ve had nothing but problems with TruStone. Doesn’t always update and it becomes laggy and I have to jump through more obstacles than I ever had to with Wells Fargo. Also just doesn’t seem to be very reliable so I will be closing my account and changing back over to Wells Fargo I’m really glad I wasted my time and money with this company and will not recommend this app to anyone and will caution them about it.

Credit Card Loan Advance needs to go!

When looking at credit card transactions I don’t need ‘Credt Card Loan Advance’ at the beginning of every entry! I can’t see who the transaction is from without clicking on it. If it must be there, put it at the end. Get rid of this and I’ll give you 5 stars.

Very cumbersome

Not only their policies but also the user frendliness of interface. Just became a member a few weeks ago and everything appears to be out of date compared to other financial institutions: refinace underwriting antiquated, held my first deposit of $8,000 for almost ten days, now reviewing every mobile deposit (much smaller amounts) individually before even pending in my account.
Taking my money elsewhere soon.

Was fine til latest DOWNdate

I have a 7+ and when TruStone is opened, everything is now scrambled. Luckily if I click on a particular account, I can see it.

I love this app Financial and have a member since 1986 when it was Teachers federal Credit Union..I went paperless to be environmentally sensitive but now I find all sorts of obstacles with the website when I try to view or print my monthly statement. Please make this site more user friendly. I’ll try downloading TruStone again to see if it’s fixed.

Easy to use. I am an avid user, especially because I travel. Never need to worry about payments and deposits!

My App Lags

TruStone is ridiculous! I have money in my savings and in my checking - it will say I have one amount and then after a few hours say I have another amount and I over drafted. I have contacted the bank but they only say that TruStone isn’t a perfect - so to use the computer log in for accuracy. Which is completely ridiculous.

Pretty solid, alerts delayed

App is pretty decent overall. ATM locator is not great for finding atms that take deposits. Transaction alerts seem to come at random times, not as quickly as other banks.
