About Remote Desktop
Remote Desktop allows you to connect to any Windows computer using your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
The app uses Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect to any Windows that has support for Terminal Services.
If it works with your configuration (routers, firewalls, etc) then you can disable the ads by purchasing an in-app product that costs 0.99$. The app in it's free version is a fully functional app, so you can test every option before deciding to buy.
After purchasing the in-app feature on one device, you can disable the banners on all your devices (iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches) without having to pay again, as long as you use the same iTunes account.
On slow network connections choose low image quality and a low resolution to insure proper screen updates.
Add a name for the entry, the hostname (or IP address), your username and password and choose the image quality and resolution.
Hit 'Disable Ads', confirm the purchase and a message from iTunes will confirm you already bought the product and the banners will be disabled.
When you're on a slow speed network choose "Low quality images" and 640x480 resolution.
Tap on it to connect, swipe it to delete it or tap the disclosure icon to edit the computer's informations.
* connect to any version of Windows starting with XP, except all Home and Starter versions.
When touched it brings up a set of text edit commands: CTRL+C (Copy), CTRL+X (Cut), CTRL+V (Paste), CTRL+Z(Undo), CTRL+F (Find), CTRL+R (Replace).
* zoom and pan the remote desktop screen as in the Safari browser.
Also be aware that iPod Touches tend to work slow when choosing higher image resolutions.
To start using Remote Desktop tap "Add PC" from the bottom toolbar.

This app is not working on iOS 11
It is a great app but earlier versions of iOS as RemoteDesktop updated its iOS for iPad to 11 I am unable to open it.

Won't run

Buggy but great start
The setup is easy but seems like the display is a little buggy and the controls a little laggy (could also be my connection) but a good app.

Great remote desktop app
I'm a new iPad owner and one of the uses that I have is to remote-control Windows machines, both at work and at home.
I've looked at a couple of apps--I like Mocha RDP Lite and PocketCloud--but Bamtoo's Remote Desktop app is the best value.
I've had no trouble connecting to Windows XP Pro computers and the only trouble I had with Windows 7 Home Premium is Microsoft's fault (disabling RDP, but there's a patch for that).
I am sure that some people will complain that the banner ad in the free version is annoying, but that's the point, isn't it? Just pay the $0.99 and it's gone forever. You don't even have to download a new version or lose any settings. Perfect!
Performance of RemoteDesktop is good, but I'm using it on internal networks, so it should be. There is good access to the Windows special keys and key combinations. I like being able to force the keyboard to appear-I couldn't do that in some other apps.
The interface and configuration is clean and easy. I stumbled a bit trying to modify and delete configurations, but that's because I'm an iPad noob.
Summary: Works. Cheap. Great value.

Works, But Not Great
RemoteDesktop works, and it is very responsive, but I have two major complaints about it:
1) The shift key actually functions more like caps lock. I'm used to hitting shift to type a single uppercase letter, and then the keyboard automatically reverting back to lowercase after that. Just about every other app works this way. In RemoteDesktop, you have to manually turn off shift after typing a capital. This makes typing very annoying, especially when it comes to passwords.
2) no retina support. RemoteDesktop supports low resolutions, and to get the entire screen on your iPad at the same time, you're limited to about 1280x600 (I think - higher resolutions require scrolling), too small vertically to make some programs useful.

Functional
This will not replace a true remote connection. But is excellent for routine maintenance ie. checking server for reboot after power outage or tweaking win media player or other stream software on the fly. Much easier to connect if you have dedicated ip address instead of router assigned ip. And 'allow connections from non pc terminals' google if you don't know how. Paid the 99cents and satisfied. Yea drag and drop is a pain but can be done one file or folder at a time multiple selection is a fail most of the time.

Problematic
App appears to function quite well, however I am unable to reasonably test as the ad bar sit right in the middle of the screen making it impossible to do things such as using a browser on the remote machine. I would suggest making the ad bar movable at a minimum. I would probably pay the .99 if I could properly test the free version, I can't do that as it is designed now.

Great app
Well worth the .99 cents plus some. RemoteDesktop works as advertised and better. I tried other apps for accessing my pc away from home and this one allows me to do everything that I need to do with it.

Needs improvement
I purchased the full version but there is a bug where the ads come back sometimes. It does not support Server 2012. There needs to be some sort of option to password protect RemoteDesktop . There needs to be a way to edit saved PCs instead of deleting and recreating them.
