BB&T comfortable

I was tired of all the chains banking facilities and when I moved here from the Beach they gave me sick great one on one service almost like small town bank where everyone knows your name and I like that!!!!! I grew up in a small town with corner neighborhood store. Small local library, small local pharmacy, family owned shoe store and bank that was good doing business with because you didn’t feel
Like a number because it was small enough they gave you attention like your home and I enjoy that small time personalized service. I’m
So glad that I found them. Matthew Tow is a really nice and professional person . This will be my bank for years to come. Even helped me with a few other products. I really think that this is what banking should get back to!!!! Not like those other bigger rip off corporations like BANK OF AMERICA! Which I never hear anything good from
Anyone anymore! Keep screwing people over they’re not going to stay in business with the way that they treat their clients! I used to hear some good things some not so much but now all I hear is very negative feedback saying don’t go to Bank of America they WILL rip you off. Maybe not right away but it will happen.$




Having something removed off my credit report

I was called by the fraud department they said they turn down a charge and the charge was because I bought something on television and it said I only had to pay for shipping which was 699 but no where could I find that in 14 days they were going to charge me $100 and something so the fraud department said well just we’re not gonna let it go through but just change your credit card number and I said that would be OK I said they don’t have my account number or anything so if I just change my credit card number you know so anyway I waited for that for about 10 days or something and I think it was my debit card but anyway the girl close my account and started a new account and now on my credit report it shows that I closed I A account but that’s not what I wanted to do and they said BBNT already said a manager I guess from the corporate said that they would remove it and credit karma said that they talked to BBNT and they said it would be removed but it’s been on there for two years I was hoping somebody could take care of it for me and you know remove that off my credit report because I’m trying very hard I’ve made all my payments on time and I’m working very hard to pay off everything that I owe it to you so if you could help me out I would prescient it thank you




No iPhone X compatibility

Love app but now I have to manually type password to get into app every time I use. Needs face ID compatibility. I don’t understand why bbt is so slow to catch up to latest technology? I wrote CNBC because their app crashed on my iPhone X and received response within two days and they updated app & was released a week later. I wrote BB&T email to office of CEO and received email stating I will get response back in 72 hours and 4 weeks later still have not heard back from them ? I remember it took months for U to update to Touch ID ? More importance needs to be placed on mobile access as many people do all their banking through mobile !! Look at Bank of America app version history....updated for iPhone X four weeks ago!!!! Come on BB&T you can do better. Someone is not paying attention to customer feedbacks...evidently not even the office of the CEO.




Sometimes r good other times bad

I know I’m over drafted a lot but BB&T will not pay for large amounts but they will pay for small amounts it seems that paying a $25 item they will make $10 on a $35 overdraft. I helped my granddaughter threw medical school that’s why I stayed overdraft but now she has graduated, I changed my card but some companies I don’t understand can still charge me n now I’m overdraft again the money spent on overdrawn accts I can pay my bills n still have money in the bank. The only overdraft should be the ones I knowingly made myself stop paying companies I have not given my new Acct new card means new number like an unlisted address or phone number. I do thank most of the representatives they have been very understanding n very polite, that’s my only complaint. Be Blessed




No issues since app was released

Sometimes I never understand negative reviews. I see reviews about lost passwords, slow glitchy, crashing app etc the only time I’ve experienced this is when I’m not regularly updating U like you should. I don’t have any issues with my fingerprint password. It transfers money just like it should on time and never late. Honestly, if you are blaming an app because of bounced checks and overdrawn accounts I think something else is going on.
I love the photo check feature, find it very simple and quick to use.
Overall, awesome useful app. I’ve been with BB&T for over 16 years now, I hope they don’t take too much of SunTrusts crap service with the merger. I hate SunTrust.




Mobile app

I believe this latest update to U has broken the mobile deposits. I have been trying since 2pm on and off to get my check deposited, it is now 7:15 ! U keeps saying that it can’t read the data at the bottom of the check. I have tried multiple surfaces and varying degrees of lighting to no avail. I’ve also tried my camera flash on and off with no success. I’m so aggravated and I don’t have time to go by my local branch. I get off at 5 M-F and they close at 5! My only option now is to head into an office with my children (single parent) and get this taken care of. Please BBT, fix your stuff! I know you all use an antiquated infrastructure but this may be the final nail in the coffin for me! I’m seriously considering switching banks I’m surprised I didn’t after the tax refund weekend “mishap.” I know for a fact I had $1,200 more in my account before the “outage.”




Don’t get this

Something has broken in U , because every time I try to log in through U it tells me I used the wrong password and due to too many attempts I’m locked out. (Using the right password and only one try.) That starts an endless cycle of calling the automated password reset number, getting a new password emailed to me, which does the same thing! The only way I can access my account via mobile is to then go to the website and use the new password—but I want to use U , not the website. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because when it worked, it was very convenient. But now this has been going on for several weeks, and I’ve opened accounts at a new bank and will close my BB&T accounts—because I have zero trouble accessing the new bank’s app! Too bad, BB&T....location-wise you’re more convenient, but I HAVE to be able to access my accounts on the go.




Change bill pay date back!

Why would you change the main bill pay date to the delivery date?? You take the money out as pending on the pay date, not the delivery date. It is soooo confusing and makes no sense at all. It makes my checkbook all jacked up and is very time consuming. PLEASE change it back. I am seriously on the verge of changing all my accounts to the credit union. This is the last straw. BB&T sends threatening letters if you are late on loan payments and customer service could care less to help with payment plans but the statements say they “are happy to help”. Now the “delivery date” change has caused me overdraft fees the last 2 months. I’m done.




App Crashes

I believe the latest version of U along with iOS 12.1.2 is having app crash issues. My settings are Face ID enabled and Quick View Widget Enabled. After opening U and successfully reading my face, U will act as if it is loading the account and then crash. Have tried rebooting phone and deleting app and reinstalling. It seems this error starts happening after enabling quick view balances. Not going to rate U low as I have been using it for the last couple of years successfully. I understand that bugs come up and as long as they are quickly resolved everything is okay in my book. Will rate 4 stars, as the purpose of this review is to get the attention of developers so the issue gets resolved.




Auto bill pay

The one thing I absolutely HATE, and the reason it did not get 5 stars, is the fact that the money in bill pay is deducted from your account before it is actually scheduled to pay. Sometimes I have a scheduled deposit before a bill is due, but since the bill payment comes out before my deposit and before the bill is actually paid, it may put my account in a negative balance. I have considered going back to check writing because of this. The money will not leave my account when I write the check. Go back to the way it was!!




Discouraging results from the start

I was excited to find out I could use such an app to send money to a friend who sold me her car in good faith. And yet, I have not been able to make the first payment, even though my bank account indicates the money has been sent. Soon afterward I notice the money is back in my account. This has happened more than once.

My friend signed up for U after receiving notice I’d sent money, but she can’t find out why she’s not receiving what I’m sending. I called my bank (BB&T) when I saw this was happening, and the person I spoke with could not figure it out either. So we are at a loss as to what to do to sort this out. I’m about ready to just drop the service and try to find another way to make my transactions. Very disappointed but maybe all the wiser.




App is ok. Just ok.

When I try to get face recognition to work I get a constant BB&T error try again later.
I’ve had U over a year and have even re-downloaded with no difference.
This bank has violated written policies by holding a wire transfer for 5 days, holding certified checks 10 days and the last straw: holding a certified insurance check for 10 days from damages due to hurricane Florence, even after calling to verify funds were there for it. Then we get a letter in the mail from BB&T mortgage telling us they co-signed the check, so promptly repair the house. Question: How do we promptly repair the house when you’re still holding the funds for no reason, BB&T?
I’m done with this bank. I’d recommend not banking here unless you enjoy a bank holding your disaster relief funds and making you prolong your suffering.




Good service and Service tools

I became a bbt customer after this app guys acquired Susquehanna bank! I was a bit skeptical but the experience has been really good! 👍🏿 bank locations excellent, banking hours, and the mobile banking app all really practical and beneficial in my everyday function. The bank personnel is a reflection that this app show those guys value because they genuinely perform there job with a smile and good attitude(may try but can’t fake that) so thanks when I loose a card or lock myself out of mobile banking this app make it possible 2 get back on track again

Thank you so much for being my bank

During hurricane Katrina you allowed me to draw money from my account when I had just put my check in, there should have been over draft changes but once I spoke with my banker and explained the situation they supported me in ever way and understood FANTASTIC customer service and made sure I wasn’t penalized for needing extra money in a desperate time of need. I was out of power for almost a week, the damage to the trees and all the work we had to do BB&T made sure I was alright. I appreciate my branch and I hope everyone else does too




Mobil banking

I’m a new customer and so far things have gone fairly well.
One major flaw with the I phone version of U is that the curser bar is so small and so dimly lit that you
can’t really tell if your at the right place. One other thing is that if you get locked out by trying to sign in too many times you ( I )had to go to a local branch to get unlocked. That seems a little extreme. Most apps you can change or recover passwords from you phone or home computer. So far the staff at the 5 branches near me have been very helpful.
