Anthropology has always been one store that I can count on for it’s unique fashion forward concepts in all areas of this unique store including furniture, bedding, lighting, dinnerware, jewelry, and books too! This store not only has stunning and impactful widows, this innate designer, Is drawn in for textures used to create unique and unusual effects. They use color to create impactful impressions on the customers. If you are comfortable with safe preppie styles and typical Talbots looks(yawn) may I recommend staying in your Talbot’s world. No cookie cutter or safe style here! Only one that appreciates eclectic, unique, with whimsical touches and imagination needs to take it all in! As a jewelry designer for many years I understand and appreciate the hard work Anthropology from the top to the very nice and hard working women and men that make their stores welcoming enough to return over and over again! You won’t find exceptional customer service anywhere else except Nordstrom’s. Anthropology buyers you are also amazing me all the time! Each time I walk in in know to excpect the unexpected. The app is great but there are a couple things the developers need to work on. Firstly, just because an item size is sold out online it should not mean you cant check your nearby store for the sold out size. Many times when an item is sold out in my size I wanted to check my nearby store using the location feature but the app does not allow you, but when calling the store I have found that the size is actually available. Secondly, if there is going to be a “Shop the Look” feature, then it should be available for ALL outfits and actually have the correct items of the look presented. It’s frustrating to see something the designers have put together and really like it, select the shop the look feature only to find the item either not there, or completely wrong. Again I think the app is great but I really think it can be optimized if you fix those two things.
Filter should have store availability
It’s definitely a beautiful app like the store. The issue? Like other store apps you cannot filter the availability for nearby stores in your search at least not that I can tell. So you spend one disappointment after the other finding out “not available at (insert store) “ over and over again when searching making it a prolonged and frustrating shopping experience. Sure you can buy online but what’s the point in not having the technology there like other stores if you want to visit the store that day near by & don’t wish to wait for the item to be shipped to the store, etc. And for the past year I kept finding things I wanted to buy but they would have a much later “in stock date”, sometimes up to over a month later! Why even list it? The pros? This store is quite pricey so it’s nice they offer payment installments.
My latest purchase from Anthropology are the Herringbone carpenter style pants. Light weight, not a tight fitting pant and are high waisted. So comfortable, I also bought them in a light rust color. Perfect for fall. A few months ago I bought high waisted bell bottom jeans with buttons on the bottom. Fabulous jeans and a great fit. I have to admit I’m 64 and I wear a size 10 but the clothes in Anthropology fit wonderfully and make me a little younger. The costumer service in the store is hard to find anywhere else. Who else puts your name on the dressing room door. Anthropology is a little pricey, but the unique clothing and the costumer service is beyond what you find in other clothing stores. I have been a loyal customer for at least 10years and really like shopping at Anthro. They have good quality items, great return policy, and the people that work at my local store (Perimeter)are always helpful and pleasant. However, on multiple occasions I have had my order cancelled by Anthro. When I place an order (online or through the store) and Anthro accepts the order I do not expect a week or more to tell me the items are not in stock and that my order has been cancelled. The ‘We’re sorry we’re a bit behind’ note doesn’t cut it; it just makes me want to shop elsewhere. Especially , after it has happened several times. I accept that it can take 24 to 48 hrs. for the inventory to cycle through but 5 to 7 business days is unacceptable!
Consistently High-Quality Selection
Anthropologie has consistently been my go-to store for inspiration and for treating myself to nice things, for over 10 years. Their packaging is immaculate and they ship fast. If full-price is out of reach for me (which is often, being in and out of school for the past few years!) there is always something in their sale section that is just as special. I love that they've expanded their wellness/self-care section, though they've always had this niche market on lock, long before the wellness trend appeared on social media. Great store! And I hope and expect it to stay that way for many years to come! Xo
Not an improvement
The new app is a major step backwards, at least on an iPad. It is very unpleasant to browse since the useless sidebar on the left takes up about a third of the screen and on the right there are three rows of items instead of two. You can barely see what kind of item is being shown much less make out any detail. And now the latest version is even worse. Still 6 items per page, so not much detail, and when you choose an item the left 40% is description and the photos on the right are small and CAN'T BE ENLARGED! What were they thinking!
Needs an updated system
Items out of stock after purchase. This is completely not shocking. It happens all the time and is completely annoying. For example, I tried to purchase shoes that were in my cart since the night before the start of your sale and when I went to pay for the shoes, they were out of stock. So, again you system needs to be updated. Then my earrings get canceled after purchase and I get an offer for free shipping for a purchase of $75. The offer would have been better for free shipping’s any price or maybe a substitute for the earrings.
I was so excited to get all my items after I received an email a couple days ago which says my transaction has been canceled. Really hate to have this problem again and again. No reasonable cancel my order, now I have to wait my refund even I don’t know when I can receive it. Also, be ware. The return policy was the worst. You need to wait after a month to get your money back, somehow the amount would not correct, you had to call them and figure it out. I was a big fan of Anthropologie, I already lost my confidence to purchase anything from here.
Skin Care Buyer (Sephora VIB Rouge + more)
Love your curated Beauty selection, especially skin care. Disappointed in your lack of FULL, complete ingredient lists for your products, substituting “essential ingredients”. If a person has an allergy or sensitivity to an ingredient, or simply wants a full ingredient list, he or she must go to another site. Often, I end up purchasing from that site, rather than returning to Anthropologie, which is a shame because your curation inspired the sale. Many of your “Natural” products are about transparency, it only makes sense, in my opinion to offer full ingredient lists under your “details” for those who want and/or need the information.
Nice App, but......
The new app is a lot more user friendly and I like how it displays the different color options of the clothes, as well as alerting you when the quantity of a specific item you’re looking at is down to one or two. The thing I hate is it won’t show my complete order history. It limits me to my past 10 orders and that’s it. Even if I change the filter, the 10 order minimum stays the same. So if I want to have access to my full order history, I have to log on to the Anthro website. It’s annoying. The old app never had this problem. PLEASE FIX!!!!
More user friendly?
I love Anthro. It’s been my favorite store for about 15 years. A few changes to the app and it would be lovely. First, give the option to move multiple items from “saved for later” at the same time. If I want to add 10 items to my cart from my saved for later, or delete multiple items, I have to do them one at a time. Can there not be an option to select several together? Second, when I am in my cart and click on on item, it takes me to that specific item. However, when I click the back arrow, it never takes me back to my cart. It takes me to whatever item I was looking at before. Can this be fixed? Thanks!
Rude Customer Service and App Glitches
The customer service at Anthropologie is blunt and rude. It makes no sense to call them at all. The app is slow. The After Pay payment function is poorly integrated and takes a long time between loads. I tried three times yesterday and this morning to place an order. When I finally was about to declare success, the amount for the order changed as the sale ended 30 seconds before I could hit the place order button after being redirected from Afterpay. It was a frustrating experience. When I called customer service to forward my complaint with tech, they were rude, matter of fact and condescending. I was going to buy the items anyway but I am no longer. They need to train their call center and fix their app.
The app automatically opens
The app automatically opens after searching for something Anthropologie related on google chrome. So for example, if I place an order at the store (so not through the app) and I try to go to an order tracking page online, the app opens making it impossible to track my order. Anyway, the app is fine for looking at product but for managing orders or returns is lousy. In addition, the customer account through the app is separate than a customer account used in store, so orders and order history is not synced.
Need to fix buggy review submission
Noticed my score for the fit of a dress changed post-submission from ‘true to size’ to ‘runs a little small.’ Have also seen three star reviews from other customers where the content suggests it was supposed to be four or five stars, and vice versa (complaints with high scores). This suggests that it’s not human error, but a buggy review submission issue. They also need to allow more chars for reviews. Had a very hard time deleting extra characters — cursor kept wanting to overwrite words instead of letting me delete them. Otherwise the app is very aesthetically pleasing to navigate.
