This game is amazing. Not for the gameplay or design, but for the story it tells and the excellent building of tension.
I would love to see a game similar to this one. Games that are seemingly cute and innocent but turn out to be much darker are my favorite.
Sorta spoilers ahead as I would like to talk about the ending.

So, this boy decides to build a treehouse with his friends but they all died during a storm.

How I see it is that this boy never had friends at all, but pretended he did, when it was really just him and his toys. I prefer this interpretation better as I was lonely and had to play by myself as a kid, so I relate to the boy a lot. I would pretend someone else was there with me. I had fun, but the overbearing loneliness of not having friends to share it with is very emotionally scarring for a child.

Either way, great game! I loved it and I hope to see more like it.

I wish I have much to say about Wondertreehouse. Oh boy, I began to catch on the details in the game while gathering the supplies to build the ‘fort’ like the bunny sudden appeared when the children builds the wall. Give with lack of full information about what the heck is happening in this story and the behaviors of four children, the game is hella good. I still don’t understand the truth behind this story but I guess some truth is better being left untold for now. A++ game! Please makes these weird but inspirational games/apps! :D

It's an incremental story based game, not a construction game. But it's one of the most interesting things I've discovered on Wondertreehouse store. If you're here from Alpaca evolution, give this one a try. It's quite different and leaves you wanting more.

I have no idea what I just completed.

Suddenly a bunny appears, then a baby... then everything dies.

Am I watching flashbacks? The present day? Visions of the reason the forest is “dangerous” (ie haunted)?

I don’t understand.

But I remember I’m playing a Cocosola game and then I realize it’s not meant to be understood. Just like an alpaca mutating into a giant pair of legs made of hundreds of mutilated legs fused together.

Just enjoy the story unfolding. Appreciate the weird twists. And then move on to a different game.

Adorable, creepy game that I shouldn't have played at night. Nothing especially scary, just creepy. I love it and would love to see more like this!

I tried it out to see if i could design my own tree house, BUT I CANNOT EVEN DO ANYTHING. All i do is tap build and gather. You should make a game like the show tree house masters where you can design furnish and build your own tree house.
This doesn’t even represent what a childhood is because that “tree house” that the 2 buttons were building is LAME.

this has a nice aesthetic feel to it I like it. not meant to be intense. it's very enjoyable.

Very fun

I would have never guessed that there would be a horror part to this game. I figured it was just a game where you built a nice treehouse. It was very interesting though how a bunny and baby came and seems as if they killed the boy's friends.

I wished that there was more to the game because to be honest, I finished the game within like 15-20 minutes. Maybe if Cocosola added new things I would add a 5th star.

This game is so odd

Firstly I just have to say good job cocosola inc. your warning on how this game is not as cute, warm and fuzzy as it seems is all too right in fact it's down right creepy when you get down too and also sad when you learn the whole story the only problem was it was a bit slow paced now to me that's not a bad thing it helped build up the story the real concern how ever is loosing the interest of the player so maybe making things happen sooner might fix it besides that this game was really good the story was great and it really caught my attention. also the creepy factor that it gave off made you feel like oh i'm not sure I want to finish this cause something bad is gonna happen it kept you on edge the whole time And that can be hard to pull off I really enjoyed this game and look forward in seeing more games like this in the future ( note to those reading this stick through to the end of the credits it will help you understand everything )

I didn't read the description first, so when I played the game, I became both confused and scared. It has an eerie feel to it later on and the setting of change was interesting! I do recommend this for those who are searching for 'creepy' settled games. There's things to stitch together and make a theory of what the story is about. Some photos, scenes, and actions just don't add up properly to me, but that's a personal problem for me. I wish there could be more games like this!

I think I know what's happening. The boy is remembering when he and his friends were making a treehouse out in a forest. The bunny and baby weren't really there. He was most likely the one whimpering on the ground. The switching of scenes show that what really happened was that during their time a storm came and killed all his friends while he was spared. Traumatized by the event he probably took comfort in the toys hence the baby, bunny, and car. And that's also why they were in his memory

so this is about 5 kids who graduated summer school who will go their separate paths so as best friends they meet up in their summer spot in the woods deemed dangerous. eventually the boys build a dream tree house but end up becoming insane and seeing each other as other crazy things, the story ends with the tree getting blown down from a storm killing them all. I would like it more if the story would change with more playthroughs

If you think building a treehouse is what Wondertreehouse is about, walk away. As each journal entry progresses, the cute little façade this game carries slowly degrades and exposes its eerie, twisted story about loneliness. Lots of deep meanings and metaphors, as well as a few genuinely creepy moments. You're playing Wondertreehouse for the story, so if you don't like that, don't play. If you love dark plots and a few scares, you won't be disappointed.
