It DOES NOT WORK!!! It won’t accept password

It worked fine for some weeks, after that and until today, it won’t recognize my password. I’m able to log in to my account via web browser, but not in your app. I’m unable to log in due “incorrect user or password”. When I call your customer service, they just tell me there is nothing they can do besides resetting my password. Which I already did myself, which I let them do and which is not solving my problem!

Breaks logins due to poor design

Use this only if you want it to lock you out of your account.

This unfortunate excuse for a banking app claims to use location to enhance security. But it turns out to spit endless demands for insecure dual passwords ("security questions") on subsequent touch-id logins, as well as when app is switched back to after a momentary email view to confirm numbers. If you close HSABank , it then locks your account, requiring a phone call and insecure emailing of a temp password. They get security almost entirely backwards here.

I'll be seeking a more competent HSA custodian (also one without this bank's high fees)

Terrible, just terrible

If a new version of HSABank is made available any ability log into the older version is lost. But the thing is....they don’t tell you this. They just tell you something is wrong with your login attempt. So you drive yourself crazy trying to figure out if you used a wrong user ID or password but - NOPE. They’re just forcing you to install the new app version. Ridiculous and a waste of time.

Also, the Enable Touch ID feature on HSABank is terrible. It never works.

Worst HSA account ever

Refusing to close my account without $25 fee and charging $2.50 every month. Now my account has zero money according to their rep they might not put my account in the negative. His exact words were might not ! I ask if someone could actually give me a definitive answer he could not answer that either. I told him I would not pay them $25 just to close an account that I have no use for. Tried to roll money over to bank without monthly fee there was also a $25 fee.

I had such a great first experience with HSA Bank, but when I started in 2021 they made a huge error and now I’m trying to clean it up. They set us up in a regular FSA even though I filled out the info that my husband was on Medicare and they should set up a limited FSA. Then they’ve drafted everything, even last year’s bills from the FAA when it should have HSA. Total disorganization and horrible communication.

Average user experience doesn’t work abroad

The UI is only somewhat user friendly. When I had to travel abroad for a family emergency HSABank was unavailable and support did not even get back to me with a solution despite several follow ups. Being unable to access my own money because im traveling is unacceptable. Based on this experience I’ll opt out if the HSA based insurance at the next opportunity.

Was Good - Now Broken

Worked well initially but is now broken as of the latest iOS 15 update. Upon initial login it takes an excessively long time to even display the application Home Screen. This is not a network issue on my end because none of my other apps have this issue.

In addition, the summary of total balance, investment balance, and bank balance totals no longer display.

Also, why does HSABank ask for my location? I cannot imagine a single scenario in which it would need that.

Better than it used to be

Improved over the years. Still too many clicks to reimburse myself. Suggestions- let users select defaults for accounts so we don’t have to click through that every time. Also, get rid of the check boxes that make me certify it’s a medical expense. Just make it part of the click-wrap agreement when I click submit. Still legally binding… less clicks.

Otherwise, everything works pretty well.

Needs many improvement

I do like their free account but HSABank needs work. It doesn’t assume that the entire amount billed is after insurance so you have to key in your expense twice. It makes you read the distribution disclaimer EVERY SINGLE TIME. Creating a distribution is broken for photo uploads; you have to use the manage expense button. Probably other things but don’t want to waste my time.

Easy to use, room to improve

It is easy to see balance and history. Requesting a withdrawal due to an expense is easy.

Editing notes is a pain if a mistake is made and it does not allow selecting multiple family members on a single receipt (i.e. family dental cleaning all on same day). However, overall HSABank is still great to use with lots of flexibility.

User-friendly app

This is my third HSA account in three years, as my employer keeps changing affiliations. I find HSABank very easy to use, it does not force me to link any uploaded receipt images to any specific transactions.

Every time I pay a healthcare bill, I take a picture of the statement, and then request the distribution. The money shows up in my checking account in a few days.

FAVORITE HSA ACCOUNT / App

This is my 3rd HSA account / APP . Previous Banks either were sold or stopped HSA service. By far this is the easiest HSA system I have worked with. HSABank is straight forward as is the Web Site. Also phone service reps are on their game. Please don’t ever change!

Love HSABank. I can quickly see my HSA balance and transactions and easily make contributions or distributions with my linked checking account. HSA Bank has wonderful and professional customer service as well.

I can sign on, request a distribution, and be done in two minutes. If only that was all the time it took to go to the doctor! Or if that was ALL you had to wait before you saw the doctor!

I am so grateful that I can use HSABank to pay medical bills or get reimbursed for money out if my pocket for copays etc. one thing I would like to do is upload photos of my receipts or bills here so I would have a full record of what I’ve done. Thanks for HSABank though ❤️

I like that I can track expenses that I may save for later. I hope there is a way to export this if app changes or company. I hope they create more functionality with application on phone, there are a few things you have to login for.

Easily contribute to an HSA and make payments for expenses. And if you pay expenses with a credit card, you can reimburse yourself. Use your phone’s camera to take photos of your receipts, and upload into your HSA Receipts file. I love how organized and efficient this is!

The HSA Bank app is the best HSA app I’ve used so far. Our company changes FSA/HSA companies every year and this years choice was excellent. HSABank is user friendly, allows facial recognition and communicates required tasks well by both email and or text. You can file a claim in less than 5 minutes!

The worst, can you have negative stars?

Customer service can’t look up claims, they send one card to families and make it a pain in the neck to get a second, four months into the year, still waiting on second card. And still waiting on a claim from January. Email them? Just get a form email back with zero answers. They also do not know the IRS laws. Call them? The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.

System Issue

When I request reimbursement via HSABank from an uploaded health care claim, I always select our checking account as our reimbursement method. I double check before completing.
Once finalized, when I review the completed transaction it automatically changed to check as the reimbursement method. When I use my laptop or a desktop computer I don’t have this issue.

Please escalate and fix this system issue with your app.

Would be 5 stars except...

I get my password set up, Face ID enabled, and it works for approximately two months then Face ID disables itself and by then I can’t remember my password. So I have to go thru the whole rigamarole of changing the password and resetting up everything. It’s a pain, and no one can tell me why it stops working every single time within about two months.

Seriously wish they’d fix this part of HSABank .

Good App, Excellent company

HSABank is easy to use and manage expenses and investment of funds. HSA currently has one of the best fee structures if you examine all fees for min balance, account management fees, investment fees (based on investment choice) It also links to TD Ameritrade which offers Vangard Fund choices too.
