No more push notifications???
UPDATE: I noticed recently that push notifications is no longer an option for an alert type. (Not that they rarely came through anyway) it would’ve been nice to have working notifications for everything that’s turned on in addition to text alerts but looks like it was better and easier for you guys to take away that option from us all together hmm? Some of the push notifications are finally coming through on my iPhone. After how many years this app has been out? I could play around and customize the alert settings in the app all I want and it seems to not make a difference whatsoever. However only when I use my debt card I get push notifications, awesome! But any other activity with my account and I don’t receive push notifications. Please continue to enable push notifications for all activity on our accounts. Also it’s been telling me I don’t have an email on file for alerts for quite a while now but when I deposit a check using the app I get a confirmation email immediately. Makes sense right?
Used to Work (update)
It works! I wrote a nasty review earlier this day about how I couldn’t log in and got network errors after the new update and tried it again this evening and now it works! Hopefully all the other features work as well. Mobile banking is easy with this app — I can easily deposit a check, pay a bill here and there, quickly transfer money between accounts, even send money to an account in another bank (haven’t used that feature in awhile, hopefully I still can).
Overall okay but needs certain updates
The look is good. Here are some suggestions - cash reserve bill pay options should show you minimum or total due as a convenience. Currently I have to go to the summary page, choose cash reserve account, choose details to finally get the balance due with the interest accrued which is the full payoff. At that point I have to write it down or memorize it until I get to the bill pay section. I wish you could just do it all in one section. Mortgage portal or mortgage payment options should be available on the regular site such as the payments referenced above. Finally, the summary page. It freezes or remains updating for so long sometimes I just close the app and restart. I mean, that's a basic update that should be addressed. Everything else works as it should, payments, transfers, bill pays, etc.
App no longer works
As premature this app used to be, at least it used to work until I upgraded my phone’s operating system to iOS 12. Ever since then the app continues to give me a “SSL” error. Union Bank’s tech support says that they know about the issue and they’re working to fix it. This happened a couple of years ago when a new version of iOS was rolled out. The app was basically out of commission for a few months. What I don’t understand is why these people don’t prepare in advance for new and up coming operating systems like everyone else does. Very disappointing.
Liked it better before...
The most recent update (2020) has killed Face ID on my iPhone 11. I reset the biometrics as suggested, and Face ID sets up again on my iPad, but still wants me to reset biometrics again on my iPhone. This has been going on for months now. I have reset biometrics, many times. My iPad offers to set up Face ID when I sign in after a reset. My iPhone 11 only offers Reset Biometrics to me after every reset. Frustrating enough that I may move all my funds to Chase Bank whose app is excellent to use...
Union Bank app
I had almost given up on this app. It wouldn't even open up when I tried to use it. I uninstalled and reinstalled it at least 3 times. Something made me try one more time. Everything that I use seems to work now. I can see 30 days of transactions. It is so much easier to check my balance in the app than to call on phone or use laptop.
Hear me out!
I like your app and it’s simple and easy to use but have previously had another bank app which could turn off an on your card and it’s very useful for security reasons. I feel more comfortable knowing my card won’t get used when I’m not aware of what anyone is charging me for so please, take time to put this useful feature!
Not made for int’l customers
If you live abroad and the app needs to update, it will tell you it is not available in your region and therefore you can no longer use it. In order to update it, you need to change your location to the USA and input an American credit card and address in order to update the app. A real nuisance and the entire procedure takes 20 minutes. Not exactly sure why the app was designed this way as Union Bank is owned by a Japanese bank (MUFG) and you would think it would tailor to multi-national customers...
App used to work- no more
I have had no results trying to use the app for days now. I have deleted it and reinstalled it 4 times in the last 5 days. It flashes Union Bank on the screen and then closes down. Tech support has been "notified" according to customer service, who could only offer the recommendation to "try it again in 48 hours". They seem to be satisfied that customers can log in using the browser based page. Why have an app then? I'm on version 2.7.1. Very disappointing.
Key services available, but no notifications
I like the app as it is very comparable to other bank apps. Problem: notifications don’t work. Several notifications are configured in the app, and they’re enabled in the OS. But, I have yet to see a notification of any kind on my XR. However, notifications are visible in the “alerts” portion of the app; it’s something, but not the expected or desired behavior.
Its actually really easy to use especially if you want to keep track on what youre spending, the amount in your account and if you use checks you can easily transfer the money through helped me save time going to the bank!
Worst check reader software ever
I tried to use the deposit function on the app and it kept rejecting the photo I submitted. It says it can’t read the routing number on the bottom of the check even though I tried multiple times making sure the bottom number is clearly included in the shot. US Bank has a better check reader app. I never had any problems with the mobile deposit.
give me back the account transfer option before I switch banks. for some reason it says my “account doesn’t have that feature” bs. I’ve had this app for 2 years and have never had an issue. It gives me the option to go on the “union bank” website. But that doesn’t help me any further to make a transfer. Great.
Unable to view last 90 days of transactions
Unable to view transactions for the last 90 days. Transactions only go back to January 2nd. Also the December 2018 statement doesn’t show up as an option, so there is no way to see any December transactions (which are part of the 90 days.)
Locks you out
I’m giving this app one star because I’m sick and tired of always being forced to reset my password anytime the app doesn’t recognize my finger print. If it doesn’t recognize my finger print, at least give me the opportunity to type in my password before just locking me out. I’ve had to reset my password so many times, I can’t even remember what the current password is anymore without writing it down and that just makes things less secure.
