TrueMoney is absolutely useless. If you’re a foreigner without a local residence or work permit, don’t even bother wasting your time. After going through registration and approval, you’ll find out you can’t even use TrueMoney . From a legal standpoint, I’m not sure if it’s even acceptable to collect passport copies from foreigners only to block them from using the service afterward. This should be clearly stated before registration, not after users have submitted their personal documents. I’ll be reporting TrueMoney to the Apple Store for further investigation to see how it was even approved. To me, this feels more like a scheme to collect passport data rather than a legitimate service provider. Can you imagine how many foreigner passport copies PRIVATE company collect through the years

I’ve tried to register 5 times already. I’m stuck on setting up my pin. Your process doesn’t allow me to add the last number. When I add the last number it directs me to the next screen. That’s why my pin doesn’t match. Please do more testing on this

No matter how many times I try to upload a scan of my passport I keep getting the same error message.

Unfortunately, you need a Thai mobile phone number to use TrueMoney.

Foreigners who are visiting cannot use their own phone numbers

Added an MC card, but payment at 711 failed 3 times.
Chat option in app opens chat that ends immediately.
Trying to contact at web site shows queue of 30+.
No matter how great TrueMoney is, without support it is useless.

TrueMoney stopped working in my iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus after I downloaded its latest version 2 days ago. Called in Support at 1240 waited for almost 5 minutes, yet nobody picked up the phone; the chatbot is more helpless as it’s pre-programmed...

Don't even try, it's only for those who know Thai. There is no support, everything works crookedly. To scan a document, you need to hire a professional photographer and even then it's not a fact that it will pass the check.

Besides not working for it's intended purpose of paying for things, TrueMoney is also buggy and crashes frequently. The customer services only recommendation was to use a different service and provided no help whatsoever. If you can avoid it, you'll be a happier person.

To register, you need to scan your passport if you are a foreigner. It won’t take the photo if there is even the tiniest bit of reflection…..the information page is reflective itself. Spent days trying different lighting just to keep failing. And no, there is no option to manually input the info. Just going to uninstall.

I’ve attempted to create an account several times while living and working in Thailand. As directed in TrueMoney , I scan my passport and take a picture of my visa to submit my identification. The notification then states I will get a response in 3 to 5 business days. However, I never get a response, nor do I get approval. This is very unpleasant and disappointing.

Cannot connect a bank or credit card even if it is from Thailand unless you are Thai. Cannot use a foreign card either. Contacted customer support and was “number 1” in line. Waited a half an hour. No one answered. I can not close the account now without customer service and they now have my passport info and other details and I can’t use TrueMoney .

It always fails to process. Maybe that is a good thing because I was not completely confident to do that. In any case I’m sure they have about 100 images of it now. LOL I was hoping to use it as a visitor to Thailand to use scan to pay, but I since learned I will likely not be able to do this with TrueMoney (or any app or bank?) without a work visa.

I mainly use TrueMoney at 7/11. If it wasn’t for 7/11, I wouldn't use it much due to the limited options for non-Thai users."

Want to use please update other languages.

Works great. Would love some clarification how I can authorize my account to use True Money to pay in China via AliPay as a foreign national.

this app with Advanced level is a game-changer. Just upload your passport and Thai driver’s license, and you can pay both personal and business PromptPay QR codes. With this and a few other tools, you won’t miss having a Thai bank account. Only gripe: top-ups at 7-Eleven are limited to 3,000 THB—would love more flexible options.

Edit: Wish it were more reliable. “Unable to process” occurs more than I would like.

I downloaded but still couldn’t change language to English. Can anyone help?

Lost my Bangkok bank ATM card and finally got a replacement. surprised to find out that I cannot re-add my new debit card to use directly with this app anymore. probably Bangkok Bank’s fault, but still please try to get them to allow non-Thais to put in their passport number as before. Thank you!
