Stone Age Credit Union

I’m sorry, I’ve been with CU1 since college and I’m starting to realize they are light years behind other institutions when it comes to accessing your money and digital banking. They’ve advertised this “new digital banking” for the past 6 months only to give us an updated app/website. They zero new features, no Zelle, no ability to pay mortgage from outside account, no edocument upload. This is a joke, you have to go into the bank to take care of several things or mail it to them. I can’t understand why anyone that is tech savvy would bank with them. I honestly wouldn’t recommend them to any friends or family. CreditUnion1 is a joke as well, when it is stakes up against other credits unions like Navy Federal in terms of features and UI. It’s so limited. I’m giving this review because CreditUnion1 is one the many things I check before signing or changing banking institutions. If you want a bank account to hold some money/savings in, this maybe great but to do transactions it’s abysmal. I honestly regrets refinancing with them because it’s a pain to pay your mortgage, as they make it so hard with many steps.

Can’t Deposit Checks

I got the following message when I try to deposit checks on CreditUnion1 : “Error: We’re sorry, but an unexpected error (502) has occurred. Please try again later.”
I have tried on multiple devices and I still get the same error message. I have sought help both in the bank and my calling customer service and they have no idea what I’m talking about. I get passed from person to person and have to wait on hold for forever.

Needs updating

Credit Union 1 just acquired Emory Federal credit union and so far I’m not liking the transition. Digital banking is confusing and not user friendly. I am trying to simply transfer money from my checking account to my loan and it does not even list my loan as an option to make transfers to. Why make such a simple task so complicated.

Poor service

I have been banking with this place over 35 years. I tried to transfer funds and the option is not working. I tried online website and CreditUnion1 . Called but now sit in the phone for over an hour. Tried the chat feature but they were not able to help. They did the transfer after spending 30mins with them.

Terrible app

This is a terrible banking application. I can not depend on CreditUnion1 to work , it often logs me out or gives me error messages. When CreditUnion1 does work it moves very slowly. I’ve had a difficult time trying to contact customer service regarding an issue with my card and have not been able to reach anyone. Hopefully, the bank will make updates to CreditUnion1 to keep up with the times.

Very Frustrating to use

If you are accustomed to using other digital banking apps from other banks, you will be disappointed in this one. CreditUnion1 is not user friendly, and most information you will need is not available on CreditUnion1 . Zelle is not an option either. The only thing good about CreditUnion1 is that you’re able to see your account balances, other than that it’s not helpful. Please make some updates!

Doesn't Deserve One Star

CreditUnion1 is the worst. Mainly bc it's overly difficult to login. The security questions don't even make sense. They ask questions that you've clearly never answered or don't have the answers to. The features also need to be brought up to date. CreditUnion1 is very poor and I wished they'd fix it so that I can bank properly like I do with Chase or Citibank. 👎🏽

Not ready for prime time.

Issue after issue with what seems like no plans to resolve them. Log in page goes blank and stays that way. You have to delete CreditUnion1 and reinstall it just to log in. Off the topic of CreditUnion1 , their bill pay is garbage. Nickel and dime store operations designed to get your money if you make a mistake with no way to edit or even place a memo on the cheap paper fold checks they send out. I’m giving them one year. If these glitches are not worked out I’m leaving.

This app is garbage

I’m genuinely surprised with how bad this application is. You press one of the icons on the bottom menu and it’s a good 2-3 seconds before it responds. It’s not instant like you would expect. The bill pay feature is obviously a completely separate service duct taped to CreditUnion1 as another window pops up when you need to use it. CreditUnion1 frequently just stops loading at random points and is just an pain to use. It’s mind boggling that credit unions and banks need to keep their apps update and good to maintain their younger customers.

Why???? Can you just fix it!!!

I tried to go in and pay on my mortgage with the new long touted improved version of the mobile app…. It is worse than ever. Now it says my usual $1400 mortgage payment is over $4800 for the month! And no account history is available!! At least using my browser I used to be able to make a payment from BoA to CU1… but not now! I can’t even change a phone #. At least I got facial recognition to work, by accident! This is a shame. Who is working on this IT situation? Can you spend some money and hire REAL OIT folks, please? We can wait, till then, put it back the way it was. It’s been this long. Waiting till it works properly is worth the wait. Then maybe more than 500 people will use the mobile app. 🙏🏻🤬🙄

Seriously what are they doing?

CreditUnion1 is like the cheapest high school programming class project! Are they really a financial institution? Do they have any idea of application development? Should I really trust a bank that cannot design the simplest app for they whole customer service? CreditUnion1 lacks any valuable information in it. I cannot find my accounts routine numbers. The first page looks like a cheap template downloaded from a windows 98 theme website. The menus are disoriented. It does not support any third party apps like Zelle. You barely get any valuable info by surfing CreditUnion1 . But it keeps suggesting you to change the nick names for your accounts! WTH should I even need that? It really is disgusting. I cannot wait to go and close my account with these guys after downloading their app! Seriously! What were they thinking?!!

Needs... A Lot

There’s a tremendous amount of bugs and issues with CreditUnion1 since the massive overhaul update. It was always pretty basic and ineffective, however it now has a feel of rushed and sloppily put together. Swiping down to see the verification text it sent on a phone I’m always signed into resets CreditUnion1 and I have to do it all over again... the incredible lag time just to view my balances... it unlinked my husband and I’s accounts so now we have no way to share funds for bills without putting ourselves on each other’s accounts as joint owners...the inability to make more than 5 transfers in a month... the list goes on. Given that I personally only do mobile banking as I work during bank hours, it’s come to the point I’ve considered just going elsewhere for a functional mobile solution. I’m very saddened by this recent update, it was always laggy and clunky like an old computer but it’s just so much worse. CU1 just put bright red lipstick on an already geriatric pig.

Needs to fix pending transaction time

I been with this bank for over 2 years and yet pending transaction take days to take out my money or been post on the account. Than im overdraft and you guys take $29 per each transaction. I hate the fact of loosing money when i dont have to. Also referrals takes months to get. My opinion this bank doesnt really care about us cause if they do they would of fix how transaction its post it(right away).

Could be better

Sometimes password works and sometimes doesn't. Have to try back later when password doesn't work. A touch or thumbprint password capability would be a nice feature as other online banking apps do. Also real time balances would be very helpful.

Slacking innovation

I’m a little disappointed in CreditUnion1 in the fact that you cannot look up your credit score, as you were able to in the past.
Secondly, transactions are delayed by days if not weeks to be displayed on CreditUnion1 .
For as big as CU1 is you’d think they would invest into better technology and ideas for an app.

Delete old app first before downloading this one

As someone else noted, you need to delete the old app first from your phone before downloading the new app.

I have never seen a mistake and I check often. It is much easier than a checkbook and it it usually works.

Not bad

I like CreditUnion1 . I can do what I need to do with ease. Only thing is that hopefully they add more pics or things to make CreditUnion1 have more to its appearance like other banks instead of it looking a little plain.

Good App

Quick and easy to get and use. Can be set up for Face ID. Makes keeping track of your accounts and the money in them a breeze.

Pleased

I have been a CU1 member since 2013 and they are very secure about how you save and spend your money depending on your account set up. I absolutely love them and the new upgraded app. Only thing I wish they had was facial recognition but other than that one of the best banking in the world.
