Why can’t I log on and keep saying the assets downloading

I have deleted/re-downloaded RagnarokOrigin several times. One bug after another. First frozen after going through map portal. Maps wouldn’t load properly and cause the game to freeze. Now I can’t even enter the game… character selection page just says “assets downloading please wait”. Nostalgia makes me want to play but the bugs are terrible and make it painful to try and play.

I understand ROO was just released so I’m hoping devs will figure it out. Until then I am stuck.

When this came out it didn’t say anything about having to pay for the game and when I received it ,it said I had pre paid for it , I never pay for games this is a rip off I woke this morning and there was 5 apps I never asked for on my iPad they downloaded them without my permission over night , I deleted all the apps ,…don’t ever pre order a app it doesn’t say anything about money but they charge you to pre order even if the game says free to play

Downloaded the game because a friend recommended it. Tried joining the server they were on, but “reached the maximum amount of registered users for this server”. I am not going to start a game that I was intending to play with my real life friends. That’s just ridiculous. My friend should not have to start a whole new character (especially if they have already spent money in the game already), just to play with me. They already had to restart a character once because of the same issue when they recommended their friend to play with them but they couldn’t join because of “the maximum amount of registered users for the server”.

I understand if too many people are on at the same time and you are unable to join due to this, but the server reaching the maximum amount of REGISTERED USERS? Really? What if they only played once and quit? That registered user is taking up space.

Oh boy do I love starting an MMORPG—a genre where you play alongside thousands of other people—only for the story to IMMEDIATELY tell me that I am the Chosen One and that No One Has Ever Done What I Am Doing… as I play alongside hundreds of other Chosen Ones doing the same thing as me. I didn’t even do anything story-wise to earn this.

On top of that, the game explains all its systems poorly and then rather than having you do things to understand the systems, it just hands out levels. I had characters praising me for being so skilled when I had done nothing more than progress the conversation. And, of course, the game is quick to shove items and currency at me, tons and tons of them. I had hundreds of diamonds just for starting the game.

Stats are a mess. When will MMO developers learn that large numbers right out of the gate are meaningless? Let me start with HP in the double digits, not in triple or more.

I was still in the tutorials and hit level 14 or so, which is something I remember taking me ages back when I first played the original, and that was when I quit.

If you want to hand me levels and items and currency and accolades right out of the gate, I want to hand the game back to you and never play it again.

Don’t bother with this game.

This game really pushes the p2w but has terrible customer service. There was recently an event where the top 20 contributors could win an outfit pack that all of us believed had a full outfit in it. After spending thousands they updated the pack the day before the event ended to have only 1 item in it and not the full outfit. Customer service hours are at 4 am us time and there was no resolution other than too bad that’s what we changed it to. I only wish I had topped up through apple vs the game’s website so I could refund because of these bait and switch practices.

Update: everything started before remains the same but now I must include that this game considers cyberbullying both in game and on their official discord. Customer service was contacted many times over bullying done to multiple different people and despite the complaints nothing was done as well as their mods participating in it. Stay away from this toxic gaming environment.

This game is one of the worst I played, not only can you not add friends that didn’t start in the same server as you, but when you join another server, instead of letting your character joint that server. It makes you make an entire new character. Then when I’m logging in on my computer it won’t even let me access my server to play my character but on my phone I can. (Yes I’m logged in on the same email for both, it still won’t let me access garden-4) then the games glitchy. I have a iPhone 12 I know it’s not going to be the smoothest but come on. Game is a waste of time, I highly recommend not to download this if you want to play with friends.

Long time RO player , and really enjoyed M. This game has streamlined many of RO’s issues over the years, but put every through a predatory PTW system. Many systems to enhance your characters, locked behind gacha’s with weekly opportunities to get freebies(recent patch removed some and scaled up the level requirements on others beyond server average level, which is absurd). Events are mainly gacha events and behind paywalls. Even if you subscribe to a monthly subscription you’ll find you need several other subscriptions, event subscriptions/costs. I can imagine that the people that really enjoy this game are shelling out hundreds daily to do so.

The worst part? Server congestion and fullness leading to a complete inability to play with or join your friends because their server is always full, and there are no transfer options for them meaning you all need to try and start fresh on a new server assuming it does not fill up, but nobody pumping money into this incredibly predatory engine is willing to do that.

Coming from somebody who started on PC during alpha phase 20 years ago, shame on Gravity for doing this to Ragnarok Online.

I played RO when it first came out. When the last server died, it was a huge blow as it was the best free mmo for any gamer who likes rpg. The grinding was super hard and long. You had to keep your gear updated and durable. You had to travel far. Every player looked different with class armors. Any account you would look at would show the time and dedication the person made to their avatar. There were fairly little auto functions or teleporting.

This garbage you call a sequel literally has nothing to do with the story of the first game. Or with anything I just mentioned. Just the same drawings.

The list of all time great rpgs has stagnated over the past 20 years and I thought that RO2 would be the saving grace Ive been waiting for. Boy was I wrong. This game is for small children and people who don’t know better. It’s quite shameful.

This “video game” is just a Ragnarok-themed casino. Most of the events revolves around gambling. I highly don’t recommend this especially if you lack self-control.

Even if you ignore those shady cash grabs, most players mentally top out at around level 75 when Jupero Ruins become available—-that’s when you have to grind out YET another dumb weekly task to improve your character alongside with tons of other daily/weekly tasks you have to do. For F2Pers, missing out on any of those will be a setback. Playing this “game” feels like a freaking full time job especially if you don’t pay real money for in-game resources. On my server, I saw a huge dip of players once the server level reached 75!

PVP is a major waste of time. It only exists for whales to feel like gods after spending thousands of dollars into this semi-dead gambling game XD.

“LNA” is not really for North American players. The majority of the population is from South America and English speakers are rare.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT play or support this game financially. These mongoloid devs have decided it's a good idea to drop English speaking players into a Brazilian Portuguese server, and when contacted about the issue to do a character server transfer they will ignore you. As anyone who's played this game before knows, the majority of the content requires forming and communicating with teams. Can't do that if they stick you in a digital favela. There's also the fact they price IAPs far cheaper in the third world than the west, skewing the balance of everything. Awful experience, don't waste your time or money.

As an aside, the loading times are horribly optimized for a game over two decades old. How are you this bad at your jobs? It's astonishing.

This game has a decent story line, fluid mechanics, good graphics(think super nes graphics), and not completely full auto like other newer games out there. But that’s about as far as the positives go on this review.

The cons:
I’m not sure if it’s due to servers lagging, but failing to load is a widespread issue on this game. My character is currently stuck (yes actually stuck with no movement joysticks or any screen icons available) right at the anthem trial (so about level 21ish, can’t really tell my level cause I cannot see it). It has been stuck like this for going on 20 hours now and not looking any better. It is a cash grab game, so unless you want to pay, don’t expect to be among the leaders. Like others have said, this isn’t an actual new game - this has been released before, and then was pulled from the stores. So I do feel bad for those that lost time and any money they dumped into this game.
So I’m going to let my character sit how it is for another 24 hours, and then if it’s still stuck, I will no longer pursue this game and delete immediately.
Overall experience with the game:
Not great, it doesn’t seem like the devs actually want to make an actual good and playable game. And if it continues to keep going the way it does, I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone.

Due to a “translation error” the developers have robbed the player base of literal several weeks of progress on Season 2 of Nightmare Temple.
It was stated in game that if you spent your season 1 rewards on both perm or seasonal stats you would get allocated bonus start off rewards for season 2. So people reset their season 1 stats to allocate all points into the perm stats. When season 2 started players only got rewarded for putting points into the seasonal stats. Developers reply was just oops translation error only supposed to be the rewarded based off seasonal stats.

I get mad just playing this game from how slow it is. Why did you even bother adding a skip dialogue button when it doesn’t even work ever. I like to get through the beginner quests quickly because it’s boring and everything is locked. This game drags out these quest for so long and they are all kinda pointless since most of it is just endless dialogue from every single character. Why do you have 4 back to back quest of just dialogue with the same character. Just do one. I love the set up and detail of the game but I can’t even unlock everything because it takes forever. I’ve already invested like 8 hours into this game and I am still just talking and talking. None of the characters even stand out or develop and it’s all just fluff. Introducing this many characters this early into the game makes them way less memorable and I don’t even want to bother reading the dialogue anymore.
Please invest more time into the actual content of the game and make the dialogue interesting if I have to sit through it. Or make the skip button work please. I really wanna enjoy the game since I usually enjoy these kind of games and this one has a very good system.

I played this game non stop when I was younger on PC and saw this mobile version and the Sakura new server and events (YAY PINK!!!) But was completely disappointed about language barrier, I met only 1 person who spoke English and couldn’t find anyone who spoke English let alone find a guild where people actually spoke English…the translator on the game doesn’t even translate so I can’t even speak to those who are speaking in another language….this game requires being in a party with other players but can’t even find a party because again …Language barrier, even in servers that says English or NORTH AMERICA still nobody speaks English

Used to be fun but it’s always the whales that ruin everything. It’s a pay to win now and they will always favor the whales over the casual players.

They showed me gameplay from the OG RO, like this was a simplified of that.

It’s not, it’s a 3D fake that is RO2 but trash.

It is really disappointing how much this game is just a cash grab. The last update basically broke the game and support is extremely slow to fix anything. For how much money they are making off of people, they need to be giving us 5 star service. Players who sink a ton of money in this game, they are the most powerful. Anyone who is FTP, good luck - you will be getting one-shot at every event and it makes the game extremely un-fun. Too many whales, Gravity doesn’t care about its player base at all.

Like many, I played RO from when it came out over 20 years ago. I started this for Nostalgia, as I missed how it was. I really tried to like the new ROO, but it’s just difficult. Everything seems to be a chore, and there are so many systems. I particularly do not have how everything is a draw, and looks like it’s by chance. So you can’t progress just based on skills or hardworking it’s really just luck or what the game likes you to do “spending money”. All those pointless event with rewards that you can’t get until you spend money. And the game is so imbalanced PTW players are just so much stronger than f2p. PvP and GvGs are very boring because of that, it’s likely you just get one shot dead, there isn’t really much of a fight, or team work. Most GvGs we are either against guilds who do not show up or full or whales.
I understand a game needs to make money. I just don’t think this is the right way.

Do not invest time or money into this game it is a major scam.

This is the second release of this game. For some reason they removed the original release from RagnarokOrigin Store. All time and money that players originally invested was lost.

Major scam. Avoid completely.

I have not played yet I’m excited

Game was fun when you first start but once you get into higher level content it is pay to win. The gap between a p2w and f2p is so wide, you won’t be able to finish equipment dungeons without the help of a whale or 2 to carry. It is really sad how the game progressed. If you are looking for a game to invest money into with no return or profit, then this is the game for you. Expect to spend thousand of dollars to get to the top of the ranking latter. Like others said, this game is not about your skills, but how much money you spent. After every pack you buy, you will be offered a top up. Odin cup- Interserver was not balanced. They put new servers that had lower level cap against the veteran server with higher cap lvl just to give them the free win. If you still insist on starting this game after getting this far in my review then please do yourself a favor and join the NEWEST server so u have a chance. Otherwise the game mods only really care about their main server PRONTERA. So join that one if u still want to play.

First the game has a lot of nice QOL features. Things other MMOS and Games should use. However the gacha rates in this game are a lie. 1% for a legendary pet is not true I’ve done over 1000 pulls and every pet I’ve gotten has hit pity. Also you need to spend over $800USD to max Limited Pets. Absolutely ridiculous. Refine rates are also crazy high. You barely get any materials and each refine after +9 needs 40 materials and stays at 10% which feels more like .01%…
The DEVs also have poor communication with their players. This game like all Ragnarok Games is just to milk money out of players and then eventually die after a year or two. Proof of this is how unpopular their Odin Cup is.
If you want the nostalgia try the game out but long term don’t bother the game has maybe until 2025 before it’s player base falls to less than 500.

it's nostalgic, the log in bgm is pretty much the only thing Ragnorak about the game lol loading screen is slow. game freezes. the worst part, "skip" button does not work, not only that, it reverts progress. If you are almost done with a conversation and you click skip, you have to redo the whole convo.

Which brings me to the multiple choice in the game. you don't even have to click on the options. if you click too fast on empty spots the game will choose for you.

fighting is boring. controls are conflicting. you can be having a conversation and suddenly you tap and your character starts walking before you even choose a reward.

the mini games takes so long and because it's glitchy and laggy, it makes it very unenjoyable especially with it being so repetitive to other games.

I downloaded it for the 7 day quest but deleted it after lvl 15. oh and you won't even see that quest till level 20 or so.

The game is overall decent but I am playing Mastersmith right now and one of the skills leading into a particular build doesn’t work properly. I wanted to play the turret build but leveling up skills from 1-10 doesn’t make a difference. It does not upgrade the skill at all. The other part of that build is another skill that allows you to summon multiple turrets doesn’t work. I maxed it out and you can only summon one turret. When you try to summon the second one it just destroys the first one resetting it.

I know the game just dropped a few days ago but there are quite a lot of issues and bugs with the game. although I can look most of them, one in particular is literally stopping me from playing the game. Everytime I log in to play the game it freezes my character rendering me, unable to move but everyone else around me can move 💀 before that issue occurred. I was having fun playing the game to be honest.

The other countries cannot understand eachother, or even learn the languages u provide to be at least decent assistance in this game. They dont speak English or have a good ability to learn. Every single game that is downloadable is destroyed by the other countries. They cant read, write, or even learn. They are a hindrance in everything they do. Why not give USA there own server. They are literally making your own game terrible. Seperate us and see for yourself you become more successful.

All the ads and marketing show music / gameplay/ artwork from the original Ragnarok online from the early 2000s. There is even an ad for a pianist specifically playing the log in music from the original game. There is NO original artwork or original maps, original sprites. It’s a remake of the game gravity made maybe 2 years ago but with more generous giveaways and loot. It’s essentially a watered down version that quests for you, enables auto combat, along with micro-transactions and a gacha element to it.

Game keeps you entertained, although it can be overwhelming with everything there is to do. I wish it gave you more room to just play freely instead of forcing so many objectives, daily duties and events on you. Almost feels like homework.

Also the user interface is super cluttered. It’s easy to misclick some random menu or the huge chat box in the middle of everything. Please clean up the UI, gives us the choice to hide the chat and make the icons smaller.

It took about 15 minutes to download from the store because it’s 3.9GB. The only help is a chat no email or anything to even give you a ticket number. Saying report bug only brings you back to the same thing different page. Update support opened… Bot says give contact information and problem and we’ll get back to you… I’ll give it 24 hours since I want to try to get to the daily logins and possibly get the outfit stuff but that ends the 9th and still haven’t seen either by chapter 2. Am I still in the tutorial or?

Whenever I try to log back into the server where my account is, it says “Assets Downloading,PLEASE WAIT” and never starts. So you go to the another server log off and back on it’s the same issue. How do I get back into the server that has my characters? There is no way. You just start another server until it stalls and then go to another until you have a character on every server that you can’t use. 🤨

I really liked this game and the idea but PLEASE have more character customization features. I’ve never made a game so i don’t know how hard it is to do character customizations, but i’m tired of finding good games where the only issue is i can’t make my character black. Very good idea and not that buggy so far, but i like immersing myself into games and i don’t know how to do that if my character is white and has straight hair and i'm black with curly hair lol. All in all, character customization is my only complaint!

I love the game but I used to have an account at a different server and they deleted my account and I lost everything I have evidence of my old account and everything, I spend more then $5,000 dollars on my account and they just deleted like it was nothing, I try to contact someone and made a ticket to see if someone could help me get my account back but now is long gone.. I started the game again after leaving the game for a whole year because I was very upset. Im in a new server and all im asking is for at least admins to give me something in return is not fair what you guys did to me. But overall I love ROO SO I’ll give you guys a 3 Star because I do love the game but when it comes to invest in the game I’ll probably skip that, because I’m afraid the same issue will happen again.

I really loved this game when it came out. I played with my friends, we made a guild. But the drop rates were just a bit too low and it discouraged a lot of my friends and so everyone dropped it.

I would love to see an auction house and not just a tiny auction every 4 hours where if you aren’t there at that exact time you miss the opportunity to get what you need and have to wait 4 more hours to try again.

This had better be more f2p than p2w like the previous multiple installments of this series…

Game is pretty fun and the world is beautiful and art style is really sweet. I loved RO growing up and really want to get into this game. But honestly it crashes nonstop, I downloaded it today and no joke it has probably crashed already at least 15 times… I don’t understand my iPad is old idk it runs fine but will just crash. Then I reboot and it crashes again after 5 seconds of running.. it is still new and I will try again maybe my iPad needs an update or something but it is basically unplayable if it continues to crash. Maybe it’s my system I think it’s still worth a shot

So the game is fun overall but i think its just a little clunky in terms of how you interract in the game. You dont have that granularity of control nor in the use of the macbook do you get hotkeys. You are QUITE limited in the HOW you interract with the client itself. Maybe they could make a dedicated client for the macbook that gives this kind of quality of life improvements but until then 4/5 is not bad but its not a perfect system.

Wow this game is super cute and fun, immersed for a mobile MMO and the community isn’t so toxic, then again I’m still new. I would say my main let down is the lack of browner skin tones lol…other than that…maybe introduce gathering classes or weaving to sell on markets but don’t allow auto gather XD. It’s a nice mobile chill game that has much potential

I love that there are so many choices and lots of things to do. It really makes every character unique, depending on the choices. Just one thing, every time I go into the pet to level them it freezes. I have great internet and I have no problems with any other game. I also put it on medium graphics. So I think it may be some sort of error in the game.

It’s a really fun game so far but what the heck is up with the loading screen? It gives me an error and when you press confirm it then begins a loops of the same message over and over again without loading. I hate the feeling of not knowing if I’m able to jump back in after I log off. Please someone anyone fix this please, there are events we want to do but if this loading error keeps happening we won’t be able to meet the goal of these certain events. Please again someone anyone fix this please. I see good things for this game, keep up the good work but please fix the loading problem. Enjoy the game everyone.

I played Eternal Love for years. This is better in some ways and worse in others. The visual quality is way better, animations etc. the systems in general seem well thought out. My only real big complaint is the amount of clutter on the screen. There’s so much covering it it’s distracting. The chat box is way to big, as are other ui elements. But others are way to small, it’s odd. Perhaps a small update to place some ui etc.

This is a fun trip down memory lane chalk full of fun stories and quests and lil game modes with a very helpful ui and systems to keep you always knowing what to do, however the monetization is very heavy. There’s like 4 different premium passes. On top of everything there’s a LIMITER on the amount of time you can grind monsters. This is literally a first for me with mmorpgs. No pass eliminates this limit either. If I can’t grind mobs for loot and exp to my hearts content is this even RO? Is this even an RPG? I’ll still play for a bit to scratch that nostalgia itch but come one guys let us grind monsters at least.

This game is fun and has some good character customization options, but the UI is super cluttered and confusing. I have to frequently consult google when I’m trying to find things both in the UI and in the actual game.

I would like to see a better organized UI, and more access to costumes because there seems to only be 5 or so outfits available currently through the various ways of obtaining them. Give us a store with lots of outfits to buy and I’d probably spend my money (and give the 5th star to my review).

I was a fan of the old Ragnarok Online back in the day and I’m reminded of how the game feels with this new version of it.

Before you go and yap about all the “paid to win” honestly just play casual.

The ost is probably the best ost’s I have ever heard. It’s either calm, elegant, or fast paced. The music has a bunch of nostalgic memories. (Even if I usually played alone).

Just causal play this game, farm, because it’s pay to win, but not to enjoy 😹

This is our Family game! My whole family and my parents play this game. We enjoyed playing this game. Yes, couple of things can be fix, like everything else in life. But is a pretty cool game.

Just wanted to say I’m first

Excellent game! Yet again, left in suspension by another awesome addition. Get ready to get your world Ragnarok’d.

Let me start off by saying, "WOW!" This game was one of the first games I got addicted to, making me want to play more and more. The aspects that I love the most are that you can level up quickly, but not too quickly that it is just given to you. While, yes, there is auto-battle enabled, in my eyes, it makes it easier to grind for better equipment and even level up while AFK! This game had some iffy expectations from other players due to the lack of F2P in the other games before this, but I am happy to say: No money required! I am leveling up quickly by completing requests and the anthem trial every day. You can pay for top-ups to support the developers, or just play away and have fun! I’m giving this five stars, and I have already convinced a friend IRL to play the game!

I got good and bad rolls

I started the game at first launch because of the ads and the trailer talking about how it was an overhaul of graphics but still kept the same map and music. And man did it sure deliver. The music is (mostly) the same as RO and the maps are very similar. The classes are the same (though only 2-1 is out not 2-2) and as always I have a hard time choosing what class I want to be. RO is one of the few that has kept me in this predicament as I like many of the jobs. Like all mobile games, of course, there’s gacha purchases, and they give a lot of “rewards” as you progress. For me, this is just the nostalgia fix I need to have fun. Thank you gravity! Can’t wait for 2-2 classes!

Hands down, this is the best phone MMORPG out right now. Ignore the haters. Great for beginners and pros alike, but you do have to read and pay attention to the choices they give you in conversations with NPCs. Quests are super fluid, storyline is great, voice acting is well done. Not an idle game, but AFK experience is handled well and the battery saver option is a great addition. No ads and free with in-game purchases if you want. Discord is also available. I rarely write reviews, but if you liked Ragnarok Online or Rose Online, this is an easy choice.

Because the servers just opened, there aren’t 5 years of gacha for everyone else to be ahead of you by. There are so many in game systems that give you the premium currency. Now is the best time to play, and I’m having a blast

I love the game it’s very fun. And I can’t wait for the other alternative class advance options. Just like in the original game. Especially the Acolyte’s alternate class advance. So I hope it releases soon. I’m the meantime I’ll continue to enjoy this fun game with my friends.

I just need to write a review regarding the inappropriate comments here regarding other countries and languages. I’m English speaking playing on the global server which is mostly Asian. My guild is Filipino and they have been absolutely amazing. Talking English to me, being very helpful and everyone’s very friendly towards me. If you get mad about people speaking other languages it’s a you problem. Maybe try and approach people with a better attitude and they will match your energy. 🙄

I am really enjoying the game

First off let me say that I have played Ragnarok Online for the PC many moons ago. While the landscape has somewhat changed and the core gameplay has some new additions, the graphics are updated and the story and plot have become more developed, the game at its heart is still the TRUE Ragnarok Online top down mmorpg-lite experience we all know and crave.

New additions like 2.5D/3D mode. Easily accessible skill trees and a plethora of quests and activities that are both new and veteran player friendly alike.

The game does feature classic Gacha systems as well as newly incorporated “pay to win features” that are really only acceptable because the game is on Mobile and is FREE.

I spent 25$ so far to support the developers and to catch up on some days of game-time I missed due to a busy work and life schedule - I can say I felt the immediate impact of that purchase during early level progression, but as with all progression it’s WAY more important to stay on top of your characters growth as a whole by doing the daily quests and getting the login rewards.

The overall experience wasn’t really hindered for anyone else I played with either, there wasn’t a big noticeable difference in gears except that I wanted those gears to access higher level content that I felt I should have already progressed too.

I would love to right more and I hope this isn’t a review that sounds like justification for purchasing content. No matter your choice - this a fun and friendly game that caters to all types of people. The themes and concepts behind Ragnarok, Valhalla and the mythos of the game itself are the hooks and the art style for the game can have both cute and serious undertones.

The combat is very fluid and the skill trees while a bit broad in certain sense are actually very manageable. There doesn’t seem to be a clear cut meta either and with the option to switch classes and jobs after a certain point in time the replay-ability is quite endless.

If you’re a daily hunter just looking for something consistent. A serious RPG-MMO player who likes large group events or activities. A casual type player who enjoys occasionally logging on. Or a hard core PVP connoisseur who likes to Meta-Chase and get watch big damage numbers while you face real life opponents. If you like skill sets, variation, multiple builds paths and choices, really this game has almost every desirable feature you could ask for in this genre.

I would give it 20/10 Stars if I could just to offset the glaringly negative reviews. The game is worth a try at the least. The auto play function is very handy especially if you are limited in the amount of attention you can provide for the game.

I could go on and on - just try it. I was a bit put off initially because I am used to other games like Diablo 2 or Black Desert Online. I played WoW all the way through Dragonflight and have found that experience to be quite boring. Ragnarok for mobile has piqued my curiosity and brought me back into one of my favorite genres. I never thought I would get to experience some of the feelings I cherished growing out of my youth into adulthood playing games like this - but ROO has certainly reignited that passion.
