Block Puzzle Woody Origin Reviews

So this game used to be good but has progressively gotten worse. I’m used to games having a ton of ads but there use to be a point where you could leave BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin and come back later and resume your game straight from where you left but now every time you close or minimize BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin window (for example taking a call or opening another app) you have to watch an ad. It gets quite annoying as most players (me included) play this game to pass time or while doing other activities.

Next is the biggest issue and reason why I removed BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin after having it for so long and that is the recent changes to the game itself. Up until a few weeks ago I could play quite a while and could reach at the VERY least 1000 points each game before pieces started to be harder to fit or given pieces didn’t fit whatsoever. As of now I can only barely reach 400 points before I’m given pieces that don’t fit. I thought maybe it was just my imagination but in over 50+ games over the span of a week the highest I’ve reached has been 800 points. I truly liked the game up until now but it’s no longer fun and good to play when I need a quick game to pass time. Maybe in the future I’ll try it out again if they change but as of now I’ll find another game.

I’ve had BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin for probably 6 or 7 years. It’s the best game on BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin Store, it’s the only game I’ve had on my phone longer than a week. One of the BIGGEST benefits of BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin is there are barely any ads, unless you lose, unlike every other game on BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin Store where there’s an ad every 30 seconds. NOW I update my app and every time I open Wood Block Puzzle there’s a full minute of ads??? If I switch to another app, to send a text message for example, and come back 10 seconds later, there’s a full minute of ads????? Are you guys serious?? You ruined the best thing you had going for you. FIX THE ISSUE. That is absolutely absurd. It’s now worse than all those other apps that play an ad every once in a while. I can’t believe you ruined your app. FIX IT. FIX IT. FIX IT.

Fun game, really is. Been playing for years now. Somewhat recently they changed the advertisement system. Anytime you leave and come back you get an advertisement.
Having a text conversation? Every time you go to reply you’ll come back to an advertisement.
I listen to podcasts while playing this a lot and this will be the system play podcast, open woody, get ad, ad stops podcast and changes what’s playing, podcast won’t start back, exit app to start podcast again, come back, get ad, which stops podcast again. The only thing that breaks it is some of the advertisements don’t stop my podcast (or music.)
Again, been playing for years but like most apps these days the advertisements ruin it. I deleted BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin . How many ads had I watched before this just because I enjoyed the game enough? Back when the ads only played after you finally lost? Well, more than the 0 I will be watching going forward.

So today, January 4th, I opened the Puzzle to see that a theme change is available. I can see through the cover screen that it’s a Christmas theme. I love Christmas. Always enjoy it. But, again, IT’S JANUARY 4TH. I don’t want the Christmas theme. But there is apparently no way to NOT select this “available” theme!! Maybe an explanation of the word “available” is in order?! Available does not mean mandatory. Available means you. An choose it, or decline it. It’s just available to you. The game that I used to play for stress relief is now causing me to write a frustrated review. Not because it matters all that much. I just really hate it when my phone or any app thereon, tells me I HAVE to choose something I don’t want to. Like a Christmas theme in January!! I really could care less about changing the theme of my supposed stress relieving game. So now I’m relieving my stress by ranting into the ether and deleting this game so I can install something else that’s “available.” Jiminy Christmas!!

I have played this game since I was a freshman in high school; I am now a freshman in college. Anyone who knows me, has spent any time around me, KNOWS this is my favorite game. I play.... playED... it all the time. Literally my battery data shows over 50% of it is used on BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin . However, in the last 5 days since the update, every time I open it and am met w an ad, I close it. Now most of the time a 5 second ad isn’t that big of a deal to me, and it hasn’t been any time I lose a game. BUT! Every time I open BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin ???? Even if I have only switched screens for 10 seconds??? Absolutely ridiculous, and I am a little heart broken. This was something I used to keep my anxiety low and keep me calm, but with the newest update including the insane amount of ads, it no longer is able to do that for me. Maybe after 4 years w countless hours spent on BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin it’s time to give it a rest, no matter how much it pains me to do so. 3 stars as a courtesy for the years of 5 stars content I received, even though it now is barely a 1. The game itself is great, it kind of reminds me of Tetris with fitting blocks where they go best. However, starting playing it is so frustrating because of the ads! Ads on their own I can handle and I get it, free game and it has to make money somehow. The frustrating part is that I like to listen to my podcasts while I play, but I can’t do that at the same time. If I have my podcast running and open the game, it automatically pauses my podcast because of the ad sound, then when the game finally gets done with ads, if I go to restart my podcast, as soon as I go back to the game, it again pauses my podcast to start more ads with sound. SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

You know I really love this game tried all sorts of different ones trying to find a good one and I thought I had it with this one but then I made a mistake I put five stars on it and then in the very next game, the algorithm changed to where I couldn’t possibly win it and commercial started at least two for every game which really doesn’t seem like that big a deal but 60 seconds of commercial for a crappy game that you’re lucky if it lasts for three screens is absolutely worthless. By actual count I got 7L shapes in a row I mean three Ls seven times. I really feel like I was fortunate to get that far without Losing. To get seven Ls in a row like that it’s impossible to win because L only fit so many times. So there’s really something wrong with the game.

For a game such as this one would think it wasn’t rigged against the player. But I have literal hours upon hours testing this. I have gotten to within 3 squares of having the entire board filled on multiple occasions. Then the 9 square will pop up every time. I have tried numerous patterns and it doesn’t matter which pattern I try whenever I get within a few squares of filling the board the 9 square pops up but only if there are not enough consecutive squares open to accommodate the 9. I deleted BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin and reloaded it but now right in the middle of the round the adds pop up and when I x off the add it resets the puzzle back to the open board thus negating the round I was working on. Sad part is I downloaded the game for therapy due to injuries. It has now become an infuriating game....

This game is okay. It’s not amazing and it’s not terrible… but it’s not outstanding. The ads are to much and they ruin the whole “calm and relaxing” feel this game is supposed to present.
Another problem is how just when you are about to pass your score, it suddenly gives you prices that would NEVER and I mean NEVER be practical to get any points.
Please fix these two things mainly and listen to others feedback. I am not trying to be rude, mean, etc. when I say this… but FIX THIS PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Stop just saying you will do something and start DOING it! Thank you and have a good day.

Update: They have started putting ads on before you play now. Three very lengthy ads. Apparently they don’t realize what time length is appropriate to hold your attention. You are turning your customers away. If I have to wait for more than 15 sec to play a game, I lose interest. Haven’t you studied marketing or advertising? You lose your customer if it’s too long. I’m giving you two weeks to change it ( I’m sure others are complaining), and if you don’t, your deleted. These ads are stressing.

Prior Review: This game is relaxing and zen-like. Great for winding down, but still requires brain work.

Who knew that a game with just one level, and no storyline, could be so captivating? It's been seven months -- daily play -- and I'm still infatuated with this game. Almost no apps can do that.
Sometimes I play to relax, without concern for the score. And sometimes I strategize and play the odds. Either way, there is tremendous satisfaction watching those little blocks melt off the board.

Many puzzle games have levels that get progressively more difficult, until I get to the point where it's just not fun anymore, and I stop playing.
Wooden Block Puzzle has just one level. It is always the same... never gets harder to play.
But it never gets boring, and has actually become more fun the longer I play, because the possibilities are endless, and the challenge is built-in. You can try to beat your own high score... or not. Very well-crafted by some genius developer. Thanks, Dev.

I am writing this post to share the great news that this morning I more than doubled my previous high score and am now sitting on a proud 25,051! My biggest advice to anyone looking to boost their scores is “if you have a chance to clear a line...clear a line!” It is so easy to get distracted by the aesthetic of the game, it is very tempting to put pieces where they would fit so perfectly, but if doing that is not going to clear a line, it is not going to help your cause. This is probably the best game that has ever happened to me and I hope to grow my score so I am in the top 500 on the leader board (I am currently 1,496/2,288,030). I cannot recommend this game enough and good luck to you if you choose to download it!

Like chess, this is a skill acquisition game dependent on the interplay of two, you and the computer. The puzzle requires you to figure out how to keep the board swept free of tiles. The computer will lead you to fill the board with tiles. The trick is to leave few or no holes as you stack the offered tiles, trusting that the computer will offer you the right combination to sweep. It will, but this is subtle. The annoying part is that the machine can turn, and offer only impossible tiles at some juncture when Al, the Gorithm, decides it’s time to end the game. Keep at it. I’ve broken 10,000, where I intended to stop and resume my life, but it is mesmerizing.

I've never come across a game that was so simple yet so addictive... you don't need levels, or to turn the pieces , an undo etc. that would make it too much like Tetris and defeat the purpose of just playing to see how far you can go ..over and over. It only takes 1 piece to ruin the whole thing, and so that's kind of the whole point of continuing. An undo button would take away so much of the addictiveness and excitement/frustration. I mean, if you wanted to add playable variations to keep BlockPuzzleWoodyOrigin fresh and exciting, there's a possibility but don't change the one basic concept, ever! Thanks

Of course I give it five stars because it’s the most addictive thing I’ve ever played but the only problem is I originally thought that every round the pieces given to you must’ve had SOME way to fit so that you could move on yet I guess I was proven wrong since it will sometimes give me all the pieces and tell me I’m out of moves before I even put one down because the ones they gave do not fit. It’s very frustrating when I’m on a roll and then all of the sudden I’m forced to stop because the game itself does not give me the pieces that could even possibly help me move on.

I spend wayyyy too long on this game trying beat my score and numb my existentialism BUT I love it. Also, if someone’s reading this, I highly recommend you read the review about the Christmas theme cause 1. If you know, you know 2. It’s the only reason why I’m reviewing this cause I can’t respond to it with the comment and it made my NIGHT. Also, if you’re new to this game, you’ve now been warned of its addictive quality. Pro tip: it’s all a mind game, the moment you think “oh I got this,” I promise, you’ll fail. Never look at your score, focus on one line at time (not the entire board of getting bonus’ (slow and steady really does win the race). Peace out, a-town down.

I got to over 15,000 and had to delete for a while. Now I’m back and loving it like before. And I realize u have to have them to stay alive, but the ads at the bottom of the game are very distracting 🤪

I'm up to 8483!! Not sure if I'll ever get there again to beat my high score. I love this game. I like that I can stop anywhere I want without having to save, remember my entire board or completing the game (especially when I start making careless moves out of haste) and can come back when I have a clearer head and more time to continue. I also enjoy taking risks just to see if my intuition was right for the next pieces coming. I think it's helped me to look more carefully at what's in front of me, (not to always go with the obvious) to prepare for what might be coming and to try to be ready for anything.

I really like this game ! This is the original wood block game I started out with a couple years ago, then got attached to the rotating wooden puzzle version. I still like that quite a lot but have been coming back to this original version because I realize I can start doing better at this game by taking it slow and steady & if I re-think my strategies a little differently my scores are starting to go higher!! Thank you to the designers of this game!!

I love this game. I’ll find myself thinking about it and possible moves at just random times. If I have to wait in line or sit in a waiting room I am always occupied!! I never get tired of playing.... I find it’s more like......ohhh just one more game and I’ll stop. It’s never just one more. It’s a very simple game but it does require that you start “thinking” differently if you want to get a higher score. You will get to a point where you realize if you don’t try different things you will forever be trapped around the same score. So much fun!! Thank you!!

I would give it a higher rating if it was fun and not frustrating! I only play to pass time when waiting on life or such in other games. There is no incentive to play and it seems like they try to make it impossible to ever do really good on the game! Others seem to enjoy so I guess that is good, but when I play I will be doing really good then it gives you 3 of the same shape which seems to always cut my game short and just makes me frustrated. I was talking about it to my boyfriend and my son so they tried it because they wanted to beat my score, but they too ended up frustrated and didn’t enjoy it! It isn’t horrible, but just not really fun at all! They both quit altogether, but I have given more chances then I should have!

I really enjoyed this game, but I hate the lengthy ads. Today I experienced that the ads now interrupt during the game. That is unacceptable. I will uninstall the game as a consequence.
