Can you make a way for instances to show at the top of the page instead of after the photo? I scroll by looking at instances and skip past the ones I don’t care about. Having the instance at the top would be more efficient so I don’t scroll down then back up.
When you swipe to left on accident and get to the page with all the communities, there is no way to go back. You literally have start at the top and again and scroll until you’re back where you were at.
I’m surprised I tolerated Voyager for so long. I frequently share pics from lemmy with my chat groups, but the sharing features are quite bad as they don’t use the iOS built-in share sheet. On iPad, sharing often just doesn’t work. And, on the ugly side: sometimes I choose Copy and then paste a giant API error into my chat instead of an image. Also, lots of images in posts don’t appear. They’re just missing. I thought it was a Lemmy issue, but it was Voyager. No other clients do it. I didn’t give one star since a developer has to know about issues to fix them, but how can this get good ratings? It has multiple showstoppers which haven’t been fixed for months. I doubt I’d use it again unless the image sharing was ripped and replaced.
In general I like the layout and UI, but there’s a glaring bug which prevents me from using Voyager. Whenever I tap through to read an article, when I return back into the feed it scrolls all the way back to the top. I lose wherever I was. Which pretty much ends my reading session unless I happen to be near the top.
Would LOVE the ability to have “multireddits” so I can keep certain content out of my home feed or have to subscribe at all but still have quick access. Otherwise, amazing app!
Let me start by saying that Voyager is amazing. this app is a nearly (explained later) feature-complete Lemmy viewing app. I used to use Memmy, but switched to this one for a much more clean and smooth experience. I prefer Voyager above all others in almost every way…
Except one.
It’s bewildering to me that this app doesn’t show you anyone’s profile pictures. Not on posts, not in comment threads, not even in profiles! I tried looking through my settings to see if there was some display option turned off, but nope. It’s just not a feature.
I would love to rate Voyager 5 stars, but the fact that it is lacking this very basic feature brings it down to 4.
Hopefully the devs see this comment and will implement profile picture support sometime soon. I will happily update this to 5 stars if they do.
Good app, feels like Apollo which is nice and is one of, if not the only client that works on iOS13. Though it does have a few bugs which I hope get fixed if it is the client like images not loading or the top bar not letting me see the top post on a page, other than that it seems like a good Apollo-like version app for Lemmy
It does exactly what you want it to do and does so very well. No more, no less. Zero complaints from me so I would highly recommend.
The developer works tirelessly to continually update and improve Voyager every possible chance. Voyager is already the best of the Lemmy apps and continues to get better every day.
this app is a great replacement for Apollo for Reddit. All functionality I used to use in Apollo is here and works beautifully. Fast performance and rock-solid stability. Keep up the great work!
Absolutely amazing app that has made my switch from Reddit to Lemmy a million times easier. This is a killer UI/frontend for Lemmy, capturing the usability and feel of Apollo perfectly. Devs are awesome and motivated, just a great app and experience.
Lemmy is a toxic hellscape of a place. It tropes to replace Reddit but somehow ends up being significantly more hostile and an even bigger echo chamber.
That being said, I have tried most of the Lemmy clients out there for iOS and hands down, this app is the best.
Coming from using Apollo for years and RIF for years before that, Voyager is clean and functions well. Easy to jump right in and configure how I like for browsing.
All the features I loved from Apollo without the headache of dealing with Reddit. This is the best app period for viewing you favorite Lemmy instance. It was a great web app and now it’s an amazing native app. Great job by the devs. Thank you!!
Easy to get started for me. Much chiller than Reddit, imo. I feel like the focus is on fun first here, which I am thankful for. Voyager is definitely helps to make the experience so great. this app has for sure won me over for the long haul. I recommend joining if you’re been looking for a more friendly social media. For me it feels akin to how Reddit used to be.
If you miss Apollo for Reddit then this app will feel very familiar. From the look, gestures, and jump button, this app is as a joy to use as Apollo was. This developer is also very active. Many thanks to the developer to making my Lemmy transition as nice as possible.
This takes lemmy and gives it that Apollo experience that I miss from Reddit. It is easy to use, especially given the multiple instances. It’s a must have!
Everyone know the inspiration for Voyager, and those of us coming to Lemmy from the old site are thankful. Also, thank you for providing the option to select which icon to use. I’m a fan of the OG icon.
This is by far the best app out there. As a loyal Apollo user for years on Reddit, it doesn’t get any easier to use with the Apollo inspired actions and styling. This has made switching over to Lemmy incredibly easy for me. It’s hard to believe how quickly this thing went from concept to my go to app for Lemmy.
It’s the best of the everyday browsing all or home or any community’s local in Lemmy on iOS. Just simple enough to work smoothly and well and have enough features without needless complexity or feelings of missing/incomplete fundamental parts. Bugs are rare and not ever any big deal. Voyager is very lightweight and that’s a good thing!
Voyager is just great. A lot of work went into it. Even though it’s free, you should consider tipping if you enjoy it.
