Ordered from them and paid on the 25 of May 2020. Order was due for delivery on the 9th of June. On the 8th of June (after noticing my order had not shipped) I sent them an email and was told the order was missing an item and that they’d cancel the 1 item and deliver my order on the 18th of June. They had to cancel my item because it is against their policy to do split orders. I agreed to the cancellation and got refunded for the one item and indeed my order got delivered on the 18th of June...
Except that it was an incomplete order. Missing an item which they had not canceled or reimbursed me for. When I asked the driver where my item was, he said it’d be delivered the next day. It wasn’t. I contacted Takealot and they told me they had split the order. Something they had said was against policy when I suggested it.
It turns out policy is only relevant when it suits them. I’m still waiting for my one item - almost a month later.
Last order with them, will use other online services.

I recently tried to purchase a tv from takealot. It requested that I verify my tv license and I entered all valid information and it said my account was in arrears. Even after making two payments for the tv license the site kept giving an error message stating the account was in arrears. I contacted customer service who pretty much told me there was nothing they could do coz that’s how their system works. Just lost a customer!

I bought a vacuum cleaner on Takealot. It has a 2 year warranty, Takealot have been completely incompetent in providing the required service never mind that they said they can’t call me and I said email me then, they can’t get the product fixed because they can’t get hold of me via phone but I’ve had 6 different people email me, saying the same thing. I will never use Takealot again.
