OnShift is really only good for a couple things 1.) seeing your schedule 2.) putting in a call off 3.) obtaining a staff members phone number.
It is an ok app for general staff but does not have much to offer managers or supervisors all you can really do is log a call off and see staff phone numbers. It is very disappointing that with the technology available in the world now and considering how advanced other apps are that OnShift is so limited. Managers should be able to send this app messages to all staff or specific staff not just reply to a message. We should also be able to edit current schedules (add/remove staff). It would be nice to view some items on OnShift just like we can on the dashboard on a PC such as...time off requests (also be able to approve/deny) and view the employees who are projected overtime. If this app would make these changes 1.) see and edit department schedules 2.) send messages to any staff (other than just call offs) 3.) view and approve/deny time off requests 4.) see projected overtime, then I will change my rating of OnShift. (It is possible to add these things into OnShift -other apps do similar things). Until OnShift actually has some more features that make it worth using for a manager I will not even download it to my phone again. It currently is not worth the storage it is using. Please add some helpful features this app and I will give you a much better review next time.

OnShift is awful it barely works half the time where I open it up and nothing happens it’s just a white screen. Even when I try to login online on my Mac it says there’s an issue and I have to contact customer service there’s seriously something wrong with OnShift and I’m fed up that the nursing home I work at uses this. So difficult to pick up shifts through this thing. It’s not even working right now We are currently experiencing an issue with the this app application, which may affect your ability to login.” this happens all the time.

I DO NOT LIKE THE UPDATE AT ALL!! & it’s not just me, many of my coworkers do not like it either!! They should have left he schedule view the way it was. I liked being able to see my pay weeks side by side and being able to calculate my days right then.. now I have to scroll through the whole thing and guess how many days I’ll have in that pay period!! SUPER ANNOYING!!! I HOPE they switch it back and FAST!!!!

So stupid that after I request to pick up a shift in the future, when I click back to my current schedule, it’ll kick me back up to the current day and I’ll have to keep re loading again to get back to where I was. So if today was 2/26, it’ll only load the schedule till 3/11 and then I have to hit load more to load more days into the future. So I hit load more and go to 3/21. So if there is an open shift on 3/21 and I hit the plus button to see the open shift and then go back to my schedule, it’ll Kick me ALL the way back to the current date of 2/26, and I have to load the future dates AGAIN. what should happen when I hit back from a future date is just to be brought back to the future date on my schedule. Like that is just common sense!
There should be a way to export my schedule.
There should be a way to see my shifts a month at a glance with the times.
*****There should be an option to just show open shifts and then like a slider or something to pick what hours you want seen*****

OnShift got so much worse. I can no longer see who I am working with on my floor it only shows who Is working upstairs which is no help at all to me and OnShift itself only works half the time. For the past three days it just keeps saying bad connection and I have perfectly fine connection so it’s OnShift not my connection. I can’t even check my schedual not to mention OnShift is super slow. I’m forced to use OnShift for work and so are a lot of other people so please fix it.

As a manager OnShift is useless for me. I need to be able to manage employee schedules. Our employees see more detail on their apps than I can on mine. I have tried to manage schedules using browsers on my iPhone and iPad. I can see more but still can’t manage schedules. If I’m not near my computer I am helpless to add people to schedules. Bottom line- It’s a waste of mobile space and my time. Is there any device this works on? Will it work better on non-Apple devices? The web version is fairly complete though I could offer suggestions to improve it.

OnShift is horrible. As a manager I should be able to open OnShift and look at a daily schedule, at least, to see who’s on shift at that moment. When I asked our representative about this, I was told I had to sign in from the website, which is not feasible when I’m driving/out of the community/have no computer access. With all the technological advances around the world, you’d think OnShift would be better suited for managers. Come on this app, make this more “manager friendly”.

OnShift doesn’t work most of time. I get an error message most of the time when I want to see a printable schedule for the week. I use it mainly to see who I am working with. OnShift does not allow me to do this. If I could give zero stars I would. Now the so is 100% useless. I’m using the latest version and cannot see the schedule at all to see who I am working with. It is a waste of space on my iPhone.

The developers of OnShift have to be either bad at their job and have no idea how to fix things, or are just oblivious.
I don’t mean to be rude either. This type of outcome for any app is unacceptable and the only reason this thing is still around is cause work places uses it/need it and OnShift works atleast somewhat.
OnShift always logs everyone out when they reopen OnShift . I have have to close OnShift and open it twice for it to log me in. The service on this is terrible too. I sometimes can’t view any messages or schedules because “it’s appears we are unable to connect, might be your service,” which it isn’t. I’m uploading a review right now, I just updated apps while streaming music on Apple Music. It just runs so poorly. I dread opening OnShift cause it’s an extra 5 minutes to see my schedule when it should be 30 seconds.

The best thing OnShift offers is the ability for managers to put in “ghost employees” to pass the nursing staff requirements by the state. The managers are also able to control what you see in OnShift . Currently, the managers don’t let us see whom we are working with, so you get to work expecting you are adequately staffed, and you’re not. They then let you work understaffed and say it’s ok, ‘cause OnShift reflects adequate staffing anyway. Understaffing for years under this app has made corruption in the company legit. OnShift is also the perfect excuse for these managers to say, “ I asked everyone who could cover for the shift, and no one answered”. My company paid millions for this service. I hope the state health department reviews this issue as well, but they’re also understaffed lol.

White screen when opening OnShift . Would not recommend for employees and employers to use this service at all. So many bugs and no actual technical help, try just reply back with message at this email with no response and IF they do it’s weeks. I haven’t been able to use the wallet part either which is the main reason I downloaded OnShift. I put in all correct details and it still showed it wasn’t correct. I have now been without the wallet part for over 6 months because of it. I’ve also mentioned this to my employer and they are considering another company as this is not the only time they have had issues with this company as well. Will not do business with OnShift or company any longer. Uninstalled!!

does OnShift, which is supposed to be for only me to use and for only me to see my schedule, which affects only my family and me, require me to fully sign in every few times just so l can see my schedule????? Why is it so hard to keep me signed in to something that shows on-going daily and weekly shifts??? I’m not trading stocks, dealing with money or any other password-sensitive task. IT’S MY MY MY SCHEDULE! Let me stay signed in! Quit deleting it!!!! Design a better app!! ARRGGHHH!!!

Needs to be updated, frequently goes blank or freezes when trying to go through the weeks or picking up shifts. Needs to have the ability to pick the hours you want to work such as offering to work half a shift instead of a whole shift. Also would be nice if there was the ability to see the entire month instead of just two weeks at a time. Wish it would show a schedule of who else is working also

OnShift was good and now anytime I try and load it to look at my schedule further out or do anything other than what it originally loads when I log in, it logs me out. it used to leave me logged in always but not anymore I have to log in every time and 5 more times just to see more of my schedule! Fix it!!! It’s beyond annoying to not be able to use it!

OnShift is a disappointment for those who actually do the scheduling and need to assist with call offs. I’m giving it 2 stars from a scheduler or manager point of view for the following reasons:
1. When using OnShift to send a message, you can only send one message at a time AND it sends it via an SMS text. This then allows the employee to always have my personal cell phone number. The other option is sending through Safari which allows you to send a message in the same fashion you do on a desktop, however, reading any responses in this manner is nearly impossible. So if you accidentally forget to check “forward responses” you will most likely be tracking down your laptop. Therefore, not very on-the-go friendly.
2. OnShift does not allow you to view scheduling for all employees for a particular shift. I need to know how many staff are scheduled to ensure we remain appropriately staffed. This again leads you back to a laptop. And, again, not very on-the-go friendly.
If these issues would be fixed I think this would be an amazing app!

Half of the time I am trying to open it I get message that my internet too slow or something like that. Meanwhile I have a high speed WiFi hooked up to my phone so it is 100% not because of my internet connection. Something is messed up on your end.
by Moo2cheese
Every time I click on a different tab it kicks me out and makes me sign in again. It’s very frustrating and I hope it gets fixed soon. I’m not the only one having this issue either many of my coworkers are experiencing the same thing.

Compared to what my company was using this is a huge upgrade. However, there are some features I’d like added such as staff being able to see who they are working with and staff being able to request partial shifts (by being able to edit the time when they go to pick up). Also the printable are awful and need a rehaul. I will say the auto approval for staff picking up shifts is awesome as well as the messaging system. Overall it’s a good system but still has a way to go!

I like seeing all of my shifts in OnShift . It would be nice to be able to transfer the schedule into iCal. That would make it a 5 star app for sure. It would also be nice to be able to see the entire schedule for more than just the current week.

Update: they have sent out an update that fixes OnShift login issue
The new update is horrible and difficult to use. OnShift always signs me out, and I have to log back in. Open shifts can’t be seen on certain days, so if you want overtime you have to go to the open shift tab, versus clicking on the day. OnShift has become very irritating to use
by Llwad
OnShift is always kicking me back out of my login in, doesn’t want to load, my weekly schedule won’t load and now it’s just disappeared off OnShift and the “who I’m working with” won’t work. This is literally used for companies and so unprofessional of OnShift. If I wasn’t forced to use it by management I wouldn’t even mess with OnShift .
by Amoha16
Good app to see when i work but i dislike not knowing where ill be placed especially when someone picks up a “fill-in” shift.. OnShift needs to give off more details and provide a better way to communicate with not only the supervisors but our co-workers as well.

Hi
Why is it I can not see the full weeks schedule of who I work with any more. There used to be a icon like a small printer I could tap and the weeks schedule would come up with who is working. This was a great application I used a lot. Is there some other way to see this?
Thanks Sandy
