this app is definitely robust and flexible. I love the ability to do more than just task management, or group interactions. Because it is cell based you can literally do anything you could in excel, but more. So that means this is a powerful multi-platform solution. Linking cells with live updates from one sheet to another. Budgets. Business and sales projections. Schedules. It truly is a project management system that is intuitive...not like other apps that have their own system layout that seems to make no sense.

I REALLY wish they would update a few things like being able to create filters that are accessible and applicable across any sheet you want to apply them. Makes ZERO sense they haven’t implemented that yet. Same with conditional formatting. Great tool. But you have to recreate each conditional format you want in each sheet...unless you make that sheet a template and then create new sheets off the template. But then if you think of a new conditional format you’d like to implement you have to recreate it 10 times (or however many sheets you have). Just very frustrating. Also, Smartsheets doesn’t seem to handle times of day very well. Ugh. But there are ways around.

So overall I think it’s great. But needs continued feature updates.

Seems pointless paying for this when I can only run 10 projects. Also it HAS to be connected to the internet to work, which is just so frustrating when working on remote locations without WiFi. I use a iPhone 11 Pro.. this phone should be plenty powerful enough to run all the computing needed for spreadsheet projects.. as many as can fit on my hard drive, not just ten of them, and the program should be able to run on my phone without being connected online and then save my work to a cloud. Having to do all the work computed through a cloud is stupid and slow. I’ve experienced lag many times now because of having a bad signal on job sites. Every time the phone isn’t on the internet, it results in having to take hand written notes to then log into the spreadsheets at the end of the day.. when I could have easily just imputed the data in real time if they’d let Smartsheet run offline..

Cool app, but so insanely limited because of these reasons.

this app is amazing. I was looking for a solution to our core issue of absent organizational structure and processes within our department. I searched for months and never found anything that suited our team's progressive needs for how we work in today's world: Offsite, remotely, and in the office. Until I found this app, we were a hot mess. this app has the systemic foundation that we need for organization and to establish processes, workflow, and manage projects. We are still learning and feeling out the software, however, it has been user friendly, easy to manage, and adaptable. It also is flexible and lends itself to grow with us. Smartsheet is the icing on the cake and has the continuity to allow our team to stay connected and organized. I'm a this app girl and am onboard all the way.

I’m much better organized! Although I’m a project management bubba I have never been able to really benefit from the use of Gantt charts. However, this app has so many more organizational tools with the capability to insert Gantt style attributes to them. Very versatile and a one stop shop for all my projects. Moreover because my plans are in one place I can review older projects and LEARN areas where I feel I need to improve within my own operations. Monthly fee is a little steep. HOWEVER, in retrospect, I can easily spend that amount on a daily basis simply buying lunch. It’s an easy compromise as my project TIME is more important than a few bucks a month. Thank you.

So I’ve been using this app for about three years. I’ve gotten a lot of my friends on it. I originally started out with a more expensive plan where you have to have a minimum of three users. I thought it was worth it that at that point. I found my job made a change so I needed to go back down to only needing the ten sheets which is the individual program. Unfortunately my job has changed again and I have a significant need for additional sheets. I went online to go back to the original business plan and found out that the price it actually doubled up to $900. I’m extremely disappointed that after I called and asked if there was anyway they could just charge something but not requiring the three licenses and virtually got nowhere. This is a great program but they are really going to eliminate their single users. Extremely disappointed!!! Looking for another option.

Most of the time people need this type of app to be available when they’re on the field. When I need to access any information I have to open my laptop. The whole idea is to get the information as quickly as possible. If you don’t have internet signal, forget it Smartsheet only works with internet. I don’t understand how other much simpler and much, much less expensive allow to work offline. Smartsheet should at least have that minimum. The mobile app is extremely limited its practically a read only type of thing. You can’t control font size, color, fill, and all the very basic functions that most free apps have as a basic feature. I have no idea why Smartsheet is still years behind. They’ve done minimal upgrades in more than 7 years. Don’t waste your money, look for other alternatives.

My consulting engagements are complex, long and require attention to incredible detail across many variables. I have to manage interviews, ideas, tasks and sub-tasks, images and costing, and scheduling.
I used a combination of Asana, OneNote, Word, Excel, Dropbox and Slack to create and then organize it all...and still made myself crazy in the process.
Then along came this app. It’s a WOW! Organization...thought management...collaboration...formula logic... Kanban views...only a partial list of its feature set.
The only thing I’d like to see it allow is copy & paste images into comments. Currently you have to upload the image file.

We reviewed this years ago and ended up going a different direction. Recently we had an issue with contracts and found that this app was the perfect solution to organize and collaborate this issue and give a platform that fixed enough to keep standardization yet flexible enough to customize as needed. While using it daily we have also be discovering new ways it can help us. Every week we find new ways this app can improve adding to our bottom line...more to come I’m sure

We are finishing up a reinvention of our Business Model. It has taken a year to complete. We couldn’t have done that without this software service. It is easily expandable when you all of a sudden remember something you forgot to put in the plan. The best part is how easy it is to access no matter where you are located.

We are going to keep our subscription going for future projects. Great software.

Unfortunately when we got to talking I let our representative know that I only had 20 minutes before I had to leave but my team would fill in for the last 20 minutes due to a late minute scheduling conflict I had to attend. At that time the demonstrator started suggesting we not even do this webinar. I explained to him that my team has been with me for eight and 10 years respectively and they may even know me better than my wife.

And that point he told me his time is valuable too and that he didn’t want to waste time with this.

The reason why I let him know that I only had 20 minutes or so that we could cover the main points first and then the last 20 minutes my team can fill in less important stuff but apparently he wasn’t concerned with that.

If the customer service is that bad from the jump, I have zero desire to pay the $1000-$1500+ or so it costs when there’s plenty alternatives out there that basically do the same thing for a fraction of the cost.

The lowest cost individual plan is essentially trial software since it locks you out of many useful features such as Dashboards. The pricing model is problematic in that the only way to unlock all the features is to sign up for 3 users—regardless of whether you are a single user or not. Moreover when you share a sheet with someone they are required to sign up with a 30-day free trial account—and they will lose access to the sheet after 30 days unless they pay for a subscription. Hardly the “users can share with an unlimited number of collaborators for free” that is advertised. While I find the software very useful, the individual plan is frustrating.

Still very new to the project management process and to smart sheets however so far the experience has been positive and I am looking forward to a better understanding and workflow. There is a learning curve that has taken me a bit of time with setting up but so far I am enjoying the process. Love Smartsheet and having the ability to make adjustments right from my phone. I will update as I get to know this on a greater level but so far so good!

I’ve been a this app user for about 8 years now. Even in the early days, this tool was the center of my daily work. Collaboration with the teams I lead and being able to provide transparency to our leadership, has always provided value above and beyond expectations. With each feature update, we appreciate just how hard the this app development teams work to improve one of the best systems I have ever used. Keep up the good work!

Initiative, cost effective (“no sorry, I don’t have MS project”).... easily collaborate, share and track progress while also being able to report to clients, and from a portfolio perspective. I spent hours trying to get the hang chart and WBS to print in a usable manner with MS Project... don’t even try to talk to me about creating dashboards with MS Project.... I’m able to set up a client, add to our portfolio in minutes, not hours... YOU GUYS ROCK!

Very useful tool and adaptive to our particular needs of keeping track and advancing our follow up on operations both for sales and construction activities. It allows us to attach important and relevant files such as proposals ,and contracts that can be easily opened with a touch of a finger .
Moving the cards to next stage of activity to be done or follow up is a breeze.
Excellent ,effective, and simple operating tool.
Highly recommend it.

Would give 5 stars if it had the following features...
1. Rapid scroll through sheet instead of repeatedly scrolling through thousands of rows. Similar feature to touching grey bar on right side of screen to rapid scroll to anywhere on sheet.
2. While using ‘search’ feature on sheet, add “filter” and “sort” to bring up specific search results and to sort by columns.

Will give 5 stars for these features.

It would be very beneficial if an administrator had the option to share only selected lines or only lines where the collaborator was included. The sort function is cumbersome and copy/paste are better on other platforms. Import from other applications are not great.

There is definitely still room for improvement for the mobile app and even the mobile website view. The desktop view work great but you lose a ton of the functionality when you switch to a mobile device. I wanted to use this tool for my onsite events team but the lack of the functions really don't justify the price. They need to figure out how to make the mobile sheet more interactive, otherwise it's too much data in such a small view with no way to pull out what you need.

I really love this app’s since it continues to provide great enhancements, and I love how it allows for various people to use the sheets at one time.

My only thing that I don’t care for which is minor is the new layout. I really liked how this app’s had their own layout to the left of the sheet. It would be nice to be able to choose. Now it seems more like excel instead of its own design of this app’s.

Hey I’ve been working off outdated spreadsheets for a long time. Tracking interviews, hires, payroll, calls, everything needed a list. Now everyone everywhere can see my list help build my list and receive reports on the relevant data found in my list... I believe my tracking/ documenting systems has been needing this service for a long time. Thanks for bridging the gap for me this app!

They have had options for paid and non paid users for years so our company had both paid subscribers and simple users. We created over the past few years quite a few procedural systems for use with SS. A few months ago, they randomly decided to eliminate some free user access to certain tools necessitating a complete re-tooling of a whole lot of systems. Instead of launching NEW options to encourage more paid users within an organization they’re model is to basically get you to subscribe your organization with a basic paid subscription, establish your protocols amongst paid and non-paid subscribers and then block your non paid subscribers from what was originally accessible. Blackmail pure and simple. We left one division on this tool but moved our remaining three divisions to another more ethical platform. Buyer beware.

Smart Sheet, Evernote, Password Keeper = an organized Roger. this app really keeps my life and work hyper-organized without having to get hyper to keep it that way. I’ve been using this app for years and as a filmmaker with zillions of ideas and a family man with gazillions of responsibilities this app let’s me invent new ways of organizing all my life data without complicating my life to do it.
