TeamGanttCompanion is very useful. Aside from gantt missing (Yeah I know it’s missing Gantt chart but it’s probably in development as we speak so I’m going to ignore that.), The only drawback I have with TeamGanttCompanion is that the keyboard layout changes for some reason when typing comments. The space bar divides into an @ symbol and small space bar which is ANNOYING.
Other than that TeamGanttCompanion is awesome! Teamgantt is amazingly organized and they are linked up to Trello which makes it very favorable to me.
I wish they had subscription plans for 1-2 people because paying 40$ for just 2 people on a 5 person Vaseline package can be a little high when compared to how much I’m paying for 20$ Trello gold, 10$ butler gold and whoever else gold is wanting a subscription. Golds gym, golden Coins on Pokémon go, Golden Grahams, you get the idea...
Teamgantt offers a great package but the bottom line is 40$. TeamGanttCompanion itself is excellent! More people should know about it. It deserves to be a mainstream app. The lvl of detail in it is very helpful. Your able to see all your tasks, outlined and timeline in a very nice and easy way to view. The interface is sleek and well put together. Every form of group text is exactly where it should be. Notifications, lists, summaries you name it and it is there nice and clean.
I think they have a solid product and the price is definitely worth it. The bottom line just makes it a little harder for individual users to jump on and that may be because their target audience is coding teams, project manager teams etc...
But the regular everyday person could really use TeamGanttCompanion. Trello handles a majority of my task management and automation but teamgantt provides a way of seeing my cards on a timeline!
It still isn’t supported by IFTTT which would’ve been amazing for automation (a craze that will probably take hold over the next few years as most kids who grew up in the tech age want to do more with their apps than just be confined and boxed in to single platforms. Apps are starting to talk to other apps and it’s pretty cool).
This is even happening in gaming via cross platform play.
Teamgantt is ahead of the curve and gives you an overview of everything. It would be selling itself short if it didn’t make its presence more known and support more cross application communication (for example I want to be able to use IFTTT to tell Siri/Cortana create a project, which then makes it in gantt. This is currently possible through using Trello. IFTTT allows a voice command to trigger a card on Trello which then (if you have a power up by Teamgantt enabled and sync) allows you to create a card on teamgantt in one motion.
This type of automation is big!
But lost in the sea of apps and projects is a way to see them all via timeline. Teamgantt helps with that problem but feels so...isolated from other apps.
Like, it’s the smart kid in the class that won’t talk to anybody but the other smart kid named Trello. But if it knew the popular big brother of Trello in the class named IFTTT they’d all be able to work together.
This review is to spark an idea💡 . It’s happening right now when less than 15 or so reviews are here. TeamGanttCompanion is relying on large companies and teams to buy into monthly packages and annual premiums.
But please reconsider. There are lots of people like myself, looking for an app that communicates with other apps and shows all the information I want on a timeline.
Please expand your target audience (I know it’s just a fancy way of saying lower the price for 2 people lol) but in all seriousness you guys are sitting on gold and your app just needs a little more marketing or availability. (I understand that prices are determined to reach minimum payouts, salaries of employees etc...)
Not sure if a ton of users like Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter etc is what your looking for...
But everyday people like to make plans. All in all your app is awesome and even if you didn’t lower the price I’d probably end up subscribing anyways (which is probably hurting my argument and actually building a case for keeping entry base at 5 people 40$). But that’s because I already use Trello a lot and my Boards literally need that one extra piece to complete it (think Kevin Durant 🏀 or Kevin DuGANTT 😎). Teamgantt offers that service.
I use butlerbot to automate my cards and rename cards using variables like time, date, keyword etc..., cronofy to sync cards to my daily schedule on outlook by the hour and minute, IFTTT (if this than that) to create bridges between my iPhone apps and Trello (which is what we both could really benefit from as far functionality goes) and Cortana to voice command texts into commands that trigger scripts on Trello.
I don’t know how many people have a specific defined role for teamgantt app. I have the supporting cast of apps ready to just plug in and make this thing go.
Teamgantt on its own is IMPRESSIVE. But it doesn’t have automation. I can’t make a task and have it automatically email me a reminder and schedule an event on my gmail calendar.
I make it so that any comment containing a keyword “hello” automatically creates another task and labels it with blue “followup on this”.
So Teamgantt is useful as a stand alone but misses the flexibility I have with Trello cards and lists.
The fact that the communicate with each other already is awesome and I actually discovered teamgantt on Trello power ups.
So yeah, please add IFTTT support and fix the spacebar that keeps splitting into a @ button while commenting.
Also, not sure if the mobile team can impact the desktop team but please send word to make it so that checklist items on teamgantt show up as checklist items on cards in Trello.
Thanks for the Awesome app! Take care.
