MakeMeSuffer would be more accurate

I’m traveling India solo and tried MakeMyTripFlightHotelBus today at a nice Indian man’s suggestion. I really needed help in finding affordable accommodation in Shillong after battling an overnight train ride with the flu. I chose the “pay at location” option and received confirmation of my reservation. Upon arriving in Shillong in very poor shape I called customer service as I had a feeling something was off. Sure enough, make my trip had canceled my reservation without even telling me. They said it was because they did not receive payment- when I actually chose the more expensive, pay upon arrival option and was given a confirmation. MakeMyTripFlightHotelBus still says my reservation is good but customer service says it is cancelled but will be glad to reinstate the reservation for almost double the rate that I was promised. They put me on hold telling me a supervisor would be on the line any minute to help out. After fifteen minutes the line went dead. Now I am staying in an absolute hole of an Indian hotel room- shivering with cold. Makemytrip, the world must know about how you treat your clients... like complete dirt!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I booked my flight tickets and it was a connecting flight. My connecting flight got rescheduled without acknowledging me and it led to shorter layover for my next flight. So, what do I do now in this situation? I decided to call MMT customer care but their automatic answering machine isn’t designed to handle queries for customers who have already booked the tickets. You can cancel and perform date change via online on MakeMyTripFlightHotelBus ONLY. There is no way your call goes through to the representative. However, I found a way and got to a representative but they say we will get back to you on the phone number you gave us and no one called after that. Also, the people don’t transfer calls to the appropriate departments as they say it’s against their policies. How is this against the company’s policies if you are trying to help a customer who is using your platform to book tickets? Aren’t you responsible for it?

It’s one of the worst and pathetic service and would not recommend it to anyone.

Extortionary policies and untrustworthy company

App review: I was able to book flights and outstation cabs fine until recently. The My Trips portion stopped showing up after I raised a refund request (mind you, this still worked from home within another app called PhonePe). This continued to not work even after I reinstalled MakeMyTripFlightHotelBus a couple of times.
Service review: The biggest problem is their service and refund policies.
The airline canceled my flight and MMT keeps the convenience fee. This is close to 10% of my total booking for 3 people. During the pandemic, I think the only way for MMT to survive seems to be through flight cancellations. I recommend everyone go directly through the airline websites. I sincerely do not know how this practice is legal. Paying for MMT Black is another wasted aspect of things 1) they unilaterally cancel its benefits during the pandemic 2) they keep any membership fee you’ve paid for it.

When it works....

Makemytrip has a decent website that usually works just fine. The problem is that they make it nearly impossible to talk with a customer service representative. Searching the web for a customer service number gives few results and when you do find a number it takes you to a prerecorded message and doesn’t let you talk to a real person. The options, “press 1 for this” or “press 2 for that” are very specific and do not allow for out of the ordinary issues. The service directs you to their website which is also not at all useful for solving problems that do not fit their predefined categories. It looks like I will be moving to a different online travel agency like Yatra or Goibibo or something. Really frustrated!

No resolution on refund

I have always used MMT but no longer! If anything out of the ordinary purchase of ticket is needed, good luck. My husband and myself have worked to get his ticket refund, due to Covid cancellation last year by airline, for approximately 3 months. We have provided all documents requested and called maybe 50-60 times at least. Three times someone responded via email for information or to say they were working on a resolution but nothing has happened yet. We keep being told they will call us back in 48 hours, does not happen. Very poor customer service, I have never dealt with any company like this. I will never use MMT again, even if I could save a lot of money on flights. BEWARE if you ever have to work with them. I am telling everyone I know who flys frequently not to use them. If they take care of my refund I will update my review.

Worst Experience

I selected higher price category while booking my flights which allows free date change. I had
selected this option as I took my dad to Nimhans Bangalore for treatment and which may take extended time. When I went to change the return flight date, I realized that free date change is allowed only 72 hr prior to the flight departure. No where this clause was mentioned when I asked the customer care they mentioned that it is mentioned in the terms and conditions which customers normally don’t read. This is a very cleaver way to fool people and charge higher money. Finally I went ahead and canceled the ticket through airline but again MakeMyTrip deducted Rs. 300 per person from the money refunded by the airline. MakeMyTrip is surely loosing one customer today.

Used to be a reliable as a travel company, but lately has been obnoxious

I have booked many many trips over the last 5 years with MMT. They used to be good with changes to bookings as well.

However, since the COVID 19 lockdown, and cancellation of all travel for a while, their customer service has been extremely unhelpful. Even after the Supreme Court of India and multiple airlines have declared their intention to fully refund trip cost to the customers, MMT is holding on to my money (which they originally promised to refund), and refusing to obey the current laws. As a student, I have lost a lot of money on this trip to MMT and never really will recommend this to anyone any more.

Used to be a loyal customer until…

My flight was cancelled by the airline due to the Ukraine crisis and they refunded me the full amount. But guess what, MakeMyTrip didn’t miss the chance to take their commission and only returned me the remaining amount.

Although the cut was small, but it’s about ethics and morals. If this company can’t return users their full money when cancellation happened from the airline side and that too for a cause like the Ukraine war, it shows what kind of company is this.

No other travel company, I repeat, no other travel company cuts commission fees when the Airline cancels the flight and issues full refund. And on top of that, there’s literally no email or chat support to contact them. And I don’t have time to call and hold for hours. 0/10 in customer service and 0/10 in ethics!

So yes, this was my last booking on MakeMyTrip. I recently booked a flight via Cleartrip and got more discount and loved the experience.

Goodbye MMT! Hope that commission fees was worth losing a lifetime customer :)

Worst Customer Service when you need it

Make my trip is decent for booking flights but Beware, if you ever need to change your flight or your flight is canceled or delayed, getting hold of a live person is impossible.
They keep bouncing you around through pre-recorded messages and sending to their app when is useless for such cases.
Getting refund for cancelled flights is very cumbersome a d they make the process so that the customer eventually gives up on the refund.
You will be better off booking directly with the airlines.
This has happened with me atleast 3 times.

They don’t care about customers

Booked a 5 day trip from Make my trip through an MMT agent, on the trip there was a snow storm because of that trip has to be cancelled on second day only as all roads were closed, I was told by MMT agent a partial refund will be given. But after some days agent stopped replying, and MMT kept all of the money to themselves, MMT do not care about customer experience they just know how to take money from customer. After giving your money to MMT forget about any refund you can get back no matter whatever the reason. I will not recommend Make my trip to anyone. Better do some extra efforts and book things by yourself.

Joke of an app

Basic option you would expect from a travel company app is a way to get to customer support if there are issues. But here’s an app which decides to just leave no way to aces any kind of support for issues that invariably crop up while booking through MakeMyTripFlightHotelBus. Instead , one is sent meaningless SMSs and WhatsApp messages giving you random links to click on for ‘contact-less’ support !! Of course these links lead nowhere. What kind of an idea is this ? A strange case for an app like Makemytrip that it has either deliberately decided to inconvenience users or just seems to be taking the users for granted !! Real Shame !

Cheats!!

Over promise and under deliver. Promise discounts on booking, which never realize after the trip is over.

Poor hotels in trip packages, complete mismanagement of travel schedules. Went on a recent package trip to Bhutan. MMT had 4 couples in 4 different hotels with the same van!! We wasted one hour everyday just picking everyone from their hotels before we could begin the day tour.

Even their customer service is bad. They will call you everyday before the package is booked. Try contacting them and resolving issues after the trip. They will send you a ticket number which is never resolved. And their customer service will only provide lip service, no resolution at all.

Worst Customer Service

When I started my booking, I had some queries to be sorted out and this lady was assigned to help me out who was very helpful and replied to all my queries even at awkward times. Once I completed my booking I was assigned a Relationship officer who was supposed to look after all my queries but this person would take days to reply to my messages I had to keep calling even then my calls would go unanswered. I just cancelled my trip cause I was scared that if I needed urgent assistance when Im traveling I would not get it. I would not recommend make my trip to anyone. But again the First Lady I spoke too was very helpful.

MMT- Travel agent or Frauds?

I am quite an old customer of MakeMyTrip. Now they have gone to an insanely low levels. They are using the global Corona virus pandemic as an excuse to their fraudulent activities.

I asked them to cancel my international tickets 2 months back on the account of flight not being operational. They got the refund back from airlines but they didn’t refund back my money which is in lakhs. After many follow-up they finally refunded back the money in mmt wallet that too with deductions.
After checking directly from the airlines I was informed that there has been no deductions at their end, also they have made refunds to mmt in actual cash. But mmt is not ready to refund me to my bank account and they have made unnecessary deductions.

Please don’t waste your money by booking tickets through MMT. At time of needs they don’t care at all about their customers. Instead they go to as low as taking advantage of the global pandemic for their personal profits!

Excellent stay, hospitality and food.

I stayed at Winnie's resort, Kasauli for two days wef from 29th July 2019. My self and my wife are above 70 and wife has problem in her knees. Their executive Mr. Ravi have allotted a room without stair. Further they have golf cart for movement from rooms to restaurant etc. Room and balcony were very spacious with a beautiful view. Each and every staff was very helpful. Nice food and location. I give them full 10 out of 10 number.

Non-existent customer service

I needed help with my account and I was locked out. I could not get to 1 human representative to talk to to get my problem resolved. I could not find 1 email address where I could seek help. I still haven’t gotten any help with my account and I am still locked out.

To the folks at MakeMyTrip reading these reviews, I dare you to get to 1 customer service agent using your publicly available numbers or emails. Either you don’t have any agents which is really bad or your website maintenance team is not doing their job right which is even worse.

Absolutely pathetic.

Its “Destroy Your Trip” - Boycott MMT

Make My Trip should be blacklisted. They advertise hotels and services that are terrible and when you make them aware of the issue their customer service has ‘I dont care’ attitude. I recently made a 6 night reservation at a property they advertised as close to 4 stars. The hotel had no rooms with functioning bathroom and they changed my room 3 times in the first 12 hours. I checked out next morning and cut my stay short. Now I am wasting my time daily talking to MMT.
BOYCOTT MMT. BLACKLIST MMT.
Note - The hotel i selected is ‘Delhi Hotel 37’

Save your money and do not stay at this hotel. The good reviews are all fake.

Over all impression

My airline canceled the flights. There is no way that I can speak to someone at MMT. MMT thinks they sold and took his cut so no worries. Let the customer face all the heat. Why should I book the air ticket or hotel through MMT if I have to call and cancel directly with the service provider. MMT NOT DOING TO DO ANY GOOD TO ME. Rather I will book directly with the service provider HENCE FORTH.

Very displeased with MMT's policies as well.

Experience of getting a travel insurance through mmt.

On our round trip through Thiland we bought a travel Insurance through mmt. We never received the policy in-spite of so many email reminders from us & hence remained practically uninsured through our journey, which caused a tremendous mental stress of traveling with out Insurance. Had to pay a higher price for car rental & took 5 weeks of intense efforts to get the issue resolved after getting at least 15-18 emails from very inefficient officer dealing with us from mmt, before we settled for a lollypop to put the matter to rest. Aghast is the only word to describe the whole episode & experience...

Difficult application to use

One of the most difficult application for claiming the bonus points. I believe, user interface could be made more candid to allow user value for money. The following features were troublesome - 1. User cannot claim all the bonus in the MMT wallet. Sometime ago this was not so 2. MMT option of Rs 5 to charity should be off by default 3. MMT ticket insurance option should be off by default.

Since option 2 and 3 are on by default they add to the price of the ticket. These are hidden costs and only an experienced user can discern. Please make changes asap.

MakeMyTripFlightHotelBus gives the best hotel and combo(flight +hotel) prices.
Need improvement: “online booking surcharge” that appears at checkout for flt tickets is something that needs to be more transparent. For Instance it is better if it is included in the fare at the “results “ page itself.

Very useful and easy to navigate to book tickets on the go. Additionally, they also give some cash back which gets added to the account and will be applied automatically every time we are booking the tickets giving us the beat rates possible. Very good to have👍

MMT is clearly working hard to incentivize app use through cash backs and coupons. If you know what you are doing, you can easily claim 20-25% off on face value of any given booking.

Wondering why doesn’t MMT have an iPad app if they are working to hard to incentivize seamless app experience.

Buggy and tough to convince them about any correction unless you pay

I don’t know how many of you had this experience that while booking you selected right flights times and rate ... but when you went to make payments it booked at higher rate and also wrong timing ... and within seconds you end up paying hefty for corrections as no one seems to help from MMT team . I lost lots of money . Will rather say a goodbye to MMT and go to other better and reliable site .

I book a business class ticket for Mumbai Kul Jfk and when I paid and got my e ticket number to my surprise I had to change airport in japan and had only 3 hrs to connect my flight I called make my trip and was kept on hold for 1 hr and nobody came on line so I decided to email about my concern and was told I will get a call back in 12 hrs it’s been over 24 hrs nobody has called back Today again I am calling them and again I am on hold for over 1 hrs This is my last time I will ever book anything with make my trip

U.S consumers - WARNING stay away!!

PS: their customer service number is based in India therefore you need to dial via International call capability.

I booked my international tickets through their website. The payment gateway timed out, resulting in no confirmation via website.

I saw the pending charge on my card and called my bank and makemytrip customer service. They said there is nothing to be worried about since the transaction did not go through.

Since then I called them 15 times and all along they said they can’t find the original booking and there is morning to be worried about.

Came back from my trip and now they’re saying that I booked it twice and it’s our fault for booking 4 international tickets TWICE on the same flight with the same passengers.

Stay away from this company, and spend your money elsewhere.

MMT doesn’t know how to secure App,

Their website wont let you login, MMT app says wait for 40 mins to login again.
Being a genuine user I cannot access my account. I think they themselves don’t use MakeMyTripFlightHotelBus , otherwise they understand how annoying is this when u have amount in your wallet and you cannot use it.
Have some design thinking, MFA are for user double layer security, you dont have to build waiting time in between. Lock the account for suspect-able activity. Use captcha to identify user with bots.

Worst app and website ever

You will feel like killing someone after you try to book with MakeMyTrip. You won’t be able to find any help. Their support takes you to a chat service which doesn’t understand...only option is yo choose existing booking or wallet. Any thing other than that it says start new chat.
