I’ve been trying to clear out my unread messages in this application. It has crashed six times in the last 20 minutes. Sometimes it logs me right back in and other times it makes me put my password in. I tried to sort my unread messages and it worked at first. No when I sort that way it tells me I have no unread messages even though there are 68 unread messages.I spent almost half an hour just trying to clear out my unread messages and it’s slow and difficult.
I received two messages asking me to fill out the attached questionnaire but there’s no questionnaire attached and I don’t know how to find it. Didn’t receive all these messages telling me about the appointment change all the messages say is check your appointments. What a waste of a message. I had to change my rating to one star because it crashes every two minutes. Also, when I sort by unread messages it shows me a list. But after I read the first message it then says I don’t have any unread messages.

SentaraMyChart is awkward, not user friendly, unhelpful, and potentially harmful. Too hard to enter information-the program stops me before I’m finished populating a field to inform me there’s nobody in the data base by that name. SentaraMyChart doesn’t let me edit information such as a change in pcp months ago. SentaraMyChart doesn’t recognize my pcp’s name. There’s no editing capability so I fear anyone referencing it on the doctors’ end will access outdated information. Why would I use this?

My most frequent uses of SentaraMyChart are to make or check an appointment, to look at test results, and to ask a question re test results. I must follow many links (some nonintuitive) to get where I want to go. Then uninterpreted results ore confusing and possibly very troubling since medical abbreviations and terminology are not in my vocabulary. Questions are either not answered or answered after great delay. Doctors have told us that they pay no attention to online pre-registrations.

I’ve tried using SentaraMyChart several times over the past year. I get logged in and then try to access a function and SentaraMyChart tells me that the site is down.
Also, when I have been able to access messaging to communicate with my doctor, the text field limits you to a certain number of characters!!! That’s so amateurish! In healthcare, people need to be able to communicate more info than SentaraMyChart allows.
Rewrite this piece of garbage.

I downloaded SentaraMyChart at the urging of Sentara for a telehealth appointment. As it turned out, the telehealth appointment would not work on SentaraMyChart , and subsequent messages to my doctor went unanswered. Finally went online to the web version of MyChart and asked if she had seen my messages. Of course she had not. I’m on here again today because the website version of MyChart is not working. It said to use SentaraMyChart. Hahahahah!!
One more reason I’m looking to change providers from greedy Sentara/Optima… despite liking my doctor very much.

SentaraMyChart doesn’t allow password managers to fill the login field or even allow paste into the password field. So users using a password manager (1password or lastpass) are forced to view their password on a different device while entering what should be a long random password. Or start using a ludicrously simple password for your medical information. Horrible for security of important medical data.

It is also vertical-only, so not usable on a ipad with a keyboard attached.

Getting anything to load is hit or miss, when I was first trying to set it up it would get stuck at the term and conditions agreement page (I’m still not sure how I managed to finally get past it). Even now it just won’t or can’t load half the pages and labs. It’s somehow worse than Safari. The only reason I’m using it is because they don’t give you an option but to use it.

There is no world where +5,000 people are so happy with their medical care that they are coming to SentaraMyChart Store to sing SentaraMyChart ’s praises with 5 stars. It constantly forces updates, doesn’t use spell check, and is poor to navigate. App Store should look into false reviews for SentaraMyChart. When an update is released, they break the current version. That’s bad practice, and literally too annoying to validate the current reviews.

Recently I had a pretty major back surgery, and was encouraged multiple times to download SentaraMyChart . “You can schedule your appointments, see your own test results, track your health, contact your Dr or staff, refill prescriptions, etc. That all sounds great, but I’ve tried to contact my dr multiple times through the emails on SentaraMyChart , tried to refill my prescription 3 + times, nor could I get my test results. I never received one response to the multiple requests for prescription renewal, never got a response to my increased pain and decreased mobility complaints, nor could I get anyone to contact me about getting copies of my test results so I could turn them over for my short term disability claim.
To sum it up, SentaraMyChart is strictly for your Dr to contact you, track your health, and better review your past appointments and labs. All in all it seems like a great app for your Dr to better track and contact you, but it doesn’t go both ways....

Update: One FULL WEEK later I finally received a response to ONE email...so they do receive the emails on the other end and I guess just choose to ignore them? I don’t know who to blame. SentaraMyChart is for THEM, not YOU, and Sentara’s post op care in general is just lack and lazy.

It was working, now I can’t log in with any of my email or passwords or social security numbers. I tried to start another chart and a message was bounced back that I was suppose to get an email to assist. No email ever arrived. Do not expect us to rely on SentaraMyChart religiously if SentaraMyChart does not work or if the customer service has no desire to follow through!

Poorly designed and executed, a “message center” that doesn’t tell you where your messages are, you have to toggle thru letters, automated messages, and actual notes from your doctor. Difficult to trash, and even after trashing still says you have messages. All the other menu options are the same - a ‘Rube Goldberg’ software nightmare of competing options, bins and toggles to find relevant data.

The convenience of virtual visits and online bill pay is worthless compared to dealing with constant app crashes that only seem to occur when logging in for a appointment. Most recently SentaraMyChart would repeatedly crash on my phone and my tablet almost making me miss my appointment. To make matters worse, the camera displayed me upside down to the clinic. To correct it I had to hold my device upside down, which then showed both parties upside down, but looked normal on the clinic’s end.

Thought SentaraMyChart would be more convenient than calling the office. Had an apt scheduled for next week and I wanted to reschedule. Every time I hit the reschedule button i get some covid notice. Then I select “cancel” or “reschedule”. After I hit reschedule I’m taken to a page where I see my dr but that’s it. There’s no buttons to reschedule or select dates, just a big ole blank space below the dr. I was able to cancel the apt though. Now I guess I have to call the office to schedule anyways. The only real benefits I’ve seen are the bills/payment options, viewing upcoming apts and see results from past apts.

Could you tell me what is so different between SentaraMyChart and how I accessed my portal prior to this. Also, and more importantly, I don’t have a mobile phone so having to compose messages on the side of my iPad is a hinderance. Please make this iPad friendly. Oh, and pray tell, why do I have to turn on my location. That is a security risk and I want to turn it off ASAP.

Every financial / insurance app I have includes biometric sign in. I would expect a health care app to understand that many of your patients probably have memory issues. So now I have another password I have to try to remember. Since I can’t, I have to write it down. Why have an app on a mobil device if I have to be at home to look up the password? I can just use my computer, which also has a bigger screen and keyboard. My kids and Grandkids tell me I need to get with the times, but my memory says, too late!
Following receipt of the developers response, I attempted the recommended fix. It did not work, so I called. The lady I spoke with was, unfortunately, not a programmer, as the call was forwarded to a 1-800 number, not the 1-833 number, but she was very polite and tried to help me. I have sent an email to try to resolve this. Could well be operator error.

They have my primary physician wrong. They have my medications wrong. They keep asking me to fill out forms before I go but there are no forms to fill out. Tech-support is useless. When I asked for help they told me to contact my physician. Really? Patients should have the option of being able to edit their information and that includes their medical history, prescriptions and other information.

I’m not really sure of the point of SentaraMyChart. There are still things that need to be done in a browser, even though every email I receive has a link to SentaraMyChart. For what it can do, it does well, but until they can design SentaraMyChart to remove the need for a browser, I can’t give it more than 3-stars.

This is a great app I was recently in the hospital and was able to see my test results even before the Doctor came in the tell me what they were. I have been able to compare past results with current ones and read doctor notes. Definitely worth the 2 minutes of my time it took to download

I will greatly miss Mary Corley and the fantastic care she provided. I have to add I had insurance issues at my January appointment and the patience the front desk staff had was above and beyond! Will stay even though Mary Corley has retired.

The system has worked great until recently. I am not able to send messages to my doctor from my computer. Not sure what is wrong.

- Does not let me see test results besides the ones it selects
- Messages say “Click” but there’s no link
- Can’t delete messages

SentaraMyChart needs to be upgraded before it has at least the same functionality as MyChart.

I’ve been using My Chart app for communication with my current provider for several years. It’s very useful and efficient.
A Sentara Doctor told me to set up Sentara My Chart. Now I find there is no app for this and Sentara does not share My Chart data provided by other doctors.
Useless.

SentaraMyChart doesn’t update your lab results in a timely fashion. I took lab work at LabCorp located at Sentara Princess Anne and have yet to receive the results on SentaraMyChart. This is the main reason why I downloaded SentaraMyChart. I received my results in the Lab Corp patient portal.

Could we get an app that way we can view our records In SentaraMyChart instead of having to use the computer all the time. Thanks.

I can get into mychart, but same UN & PW does not open SentaraMyChart.

APP needs interface for iPAD.

I use the website all the time.
To get quick access to meds, apts, test results, write messages, make apts, list issues, etc...
2 minor sync issues:
It doesn’t save your password.
It doesn’t sync with web messages.
There is no option to delete old messages.
Please fix these for next release.

Unique yet intuitive design. I can find everything I need.
