Worst banking app I ever used

BMOCanada is the unfortunate price you pay for banking with BMO, and it’s pushing me to seriously consider switching banks. Biometrics barely work, BMOCanada frequently shuts down and logs you out without warning, and insight notifications keep reappearing even after you’ve already read them. Worst of all, BMOCanada often fails to provide access to your account information, showing a generic error message claiming they’re “working hard” to fix the issue. Spoiler: they’re not. BMOCanada is unreliable and frustrating, yet we’re stuck with it as the sole option for online banking with BMO.

can’t login

BMOCanada has been updated almost 3x within the last few months and the login page is still bugging. please fix this ASAP!!!

iPad?

Mobile banking is great but I have big fingers and using the tiny keys on the iPhone are not practical when using BMOCanada. They claim to support iPad but it ONLY works in a small size. You can use the 2X mode but it still does not fit the screen and well, it looks terrible... I am very disapointed that one of Canada's big 5 banks can't afford to make its customers a decent app. We keep forking over billions to them in banking fees a year and they can't even provide us with a decent FREE app that we pay for anyway with banking fees!!!!

Got scammed

got scammed with cheque fraud. BMO digital bank showed that I have the money, and then money disappeared. They know about this flaw but don’t do anything.

Please avoid at all costs.

Using Version 6.5.1

After update when logging in, see a perpetual spinning circle around the padlock icon. no longer have any access with app

Lame

What a lame app: I can do virtually nothing other than check my balance and transfer between BMO accounts. Very little functionality: cannot pay bills, cannot transfer to non-BMO accounts. Hope BMO improves the functionality of BMOCanada in the very near future.

Constant crushing

Always says “something is up on our end” or “we are trying hard to fix. How about actually fixing? One day BMOCanada and tech issues will be what drivers people away from this bank. Whoever uses BMOCanada in Canada should know what I’m talking about. Worst banking app out there easily

App is down at night

It has been consistently down at several nights.

Stop the upsell

Sick of 2 month old updates and upselling ads as I try to navigate BMOCanada . Give it a break.

Not very intuitive

There is a step when designing an app’s user experience where you hand BMOCanada to somebody who has never used it, and tell them: “try to do X.” And if they have trouble, you make it easier. The designers of this application skipped that step. So if you want to change the way it does two-factor authentication, you need to configure how it sends you Alerts. That might be obvious to the developer who wrote it, but it’s hard to be intuitive for an end-user.

Use

App is slow and can only be downloaded and updated from the apple canadian store

Need Chinese interface like the TD app

My mom likes the TD app because it can be configured to show in Chinese. After switching to BMO she can’t use online banking anymore.

Need more features

I have two debit cards, one for personal banking and the other for business banking. BMOCanada only allows me to use one card. Please make it like your online banking so i can sign in with either card.

Confusing

I have used BMO's online banking on my computer for years - so it took me a while to figure out (a) you have to put in your full16 digit debit card number (on the web they default the first 6 for you ) and (b) BMOCanada limits the password to 6 characters while online it accepts as many as you choose to type but discards what you enter after the first 6.

So BMO - how about doing some usability testing with real customers before releasing something that works in an unfamiliar way? Might improve your ratings.

Glad there's an app

It's decent for checking my account. The UI could use some work. I'm on an iPhone 5, iOS 7.1 and the status bar is currently being hidden by a portion of the interface.

Excellent app!

BMOCanada has a beautiful user interface. It is very functional, user friendly and streamlined.

Of course, it's still missing the camera check deposit that the competition has. Also waiting for the Investorline functionality. But it's great. I must give it to them.

New app is amazing

The new app is nothing like the previous one. It's fast, responsive and packed with essential functionality. Looking forward to regular updates from now on.

Good features in 1st version

Decent UI. Has transfer features between accounts.
