CallaBike is fine, works well, and does what it's supposed to.

The system of picking up and dropping off a bike on any street corner within the S-Bahn ring was fantastic — I used it all the time. Then a few years ago, they changed it to where you are only allowed to take and leave the bikes at one of the limited number of Call-A-Bike stations throughout Berlin. None of the stations are convenient to where I live or where I'm going, and they are often empty (meaning no pick up) or completely full (meaning ride to another station to drop off). I've stopped using the system after the change.

"Renting not possible, please try another bike in a few minutes." This is the message I get every time I try to rent any bike. After an endless registration and having pay for a "Tariff" I cannot use the bikes. The other app from Ford, is not available on the USA app store.

Considering how well Germany works, CallaBike and company are absolute disgrace. You can't fully register online, if you have an overseas mobile they tell you to phone in, when you phone and they tell you to go online, I've never encountered something so miserably "designed" in Germany.

CallaBike is useless. I successfully signed up and put money in my account only do receive the error "Renting not possible. Please try another bike in a few minutes.". Well I have done that and it still doesn't work. This is a waste of time.

Thanks for never told me you’d delete my account in a week. Just a few hours after I changed my tariff to the one with calls.

Bikes don’t unlock a locks are stuck, but your rental still runs and you get charged. Use a different company, this one just doesn’t work.

I get around fine for basic spotting of bikes and renting. But when reporting an issue it would be really helpful to have it in English.

Not so much English in here. The process is fairly straightforward, but, if anything goes pear-shaped you might be out of luck at the rental spot, while the meter is running.

I get the base app would be in German but if it is offered on the U.S. App Store, why would it not be offered in English?
Probably the second most used language in Germany and likely the largest group of tourists would understand English.

The set up is a nightmare. You are required to call a hotline, which doesn’t pickup and so money and time is wasted.

I don't see why not everybody in Germany uses this.

Wasted 15 min. Registration way too long.

Call a bike is awesome and CallaBike just makes it better... ;-)

Sadly it doesn't have English or any other language for tourists visiting and wanting to use a bike

Registration is totally broken and way overdone, should be way way simpler

App stürzt häufig ab. Es werden in München Fahrräder von bmw angezeigt, die nicht ausgeliehen werden können. Auf der App ist kein Hinweis, dass es sich um BMW Räder hält. Standorte oft falsch.

I signed up for Call a Bike this morning and just downloaded CallaBike. I could do the registration in English and got an email confirming my registration in English, but then the website is only in German and - even though it says CallaBike comes in English and Deutsch - I cannot find any way to switch between languages. I would not mind if it was consistently only in Germany - at least I would know that it was not intended for people who do not speak the language - but having English functionality for some parts but not others is more annoying.
