Lieferando took my money like it was nothing

While visiting Germany I downloaded Lieferandode to order food because I saw it advertised everywhere. Thought it would be nice to use and decided to order food through Lieferandode . Ordering process was easy. Filled out all the proper information such as where i was staying contact information etc....Lieferandode said the food would arrive in 45 minutes and after 1hour and 15 minutes my food never showed up. Another hour later and no food. By this time the restaurant from where I ordered was closed so now I knew for sure i wouldn’t receive the food. I sent a request to liefernado about getting my money back and this was their response (a week later might I add) “the delivery service told us that they neither were able to find you at the given address nor could reach you with the provided telephone number during the ordering process. We’re sorry but we can’t cancel the order and refund the money because the delivery service would suffer a loss” they claimed that I could contact the restaurant to ask for a solution from them but since their response was so slow I had already left Germany after that time. After a few more long worded emails to them I gave up arguing with them. This by far is the worst app i have used on my phone period. I HIGHLY recommend you stay away from this non functional app.

Worst experience Berlin

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Worst experience of using delivery services ever, this guys are not taking any responsibility for delivery and does not support you — they just happy to take your money. In my case I’ve booked delivery for the exact time (lunch brake before leaving the apartment) and was waited for 40 minutes for the delivery and not received my food — went out to eat something. While waiting I was messaging support as they don’t provide phone or any other type of urgent support — there was no response for many hours. Lieferando took position of the restaurant who claims they have delivered it but my empty stomach confirms that there was no delivery and I suffered 40 minutes of hunger before getting out of the apartment and getting to the closest Kabab place to eat. So my lunch that day worth me 20 euro, a lot of stress, not very healthy food. Shame for this kind of customer service. Recommend anything BUT lieferando!

UPD: got coupon on 70% of lost money, not refund though.

Extremely bad app. Especially if you’re a visitor.

Tried using Lieferandode as it was the only way to get food delivered. After 4 hours of waiting and seeing my order status change to delivered my food wasn’t delivered. Sent 5 emails to Lieferandode customer center which they told me they can’t do anything and I should call the restaurant to which I responded. The restaurant doesn’t have any English speaking employees. Long story short. They took my money and did nothing to fix their error.

They told me to send a screenshot of my call logs to confirm I wasn’t contacted for a delivery, which I did. To which they responded that they can’t refund me because of the economic loss to the business. So Lieferandode only caters to business owners by trying to get them money by any means necessary. The customers not so much. They don’t care about you getting your food. I doubt if the restaurant even made it. I wish I could rate this no stars. DO NOT USE Lieferandode.

HORRILE

I am in an Airbnb with no food so I order dinner. The wait time is 1 hour and a half. Well, the restaurant calls me and tells me it’s going to be delayed another 40-60 minutes because there aren’t any drivers available. So, I try to cancel the order but they can’t do it on their end. So I try to contact customer support, but the only way you can contact them is VIA EMAIL. So clearly there is no quick resolution to this issue. Then I look at the Liefernando website which says the restaurant has to cancel the order. So I call the restaurant again and they tell me they can’t cancel it because I payed with credit card. The owner of the restaurant ends up driving me the order himself!! And me feeling really guilty about the whole thing, tips him 10€ since he was so kind to bring me food. This basically ended up being a really expensive and stressful meal. I have no idea how Lieferandode has so many high marked reviews. Probably all FAKE!!!!

Terrible food, terrible delivery

I made two orders within one day. Both of them are just awful. One is at an Asian restaurant in Hamburg. The rice is obviously leftover food and smells really really bad. Second one I ordered a poke it bowl. The package was completely squeezed, the package was open, everything was terrible. I again tasted the food and could not finish it, the rice tastes like it has 100 g of vinegar in it. Again probably leftover rice or the delivery guy/woman did something to the food.

Both restaurants have high ratings in Lieferandode (>4.5), with this kind of services, I really don’t know where the good ratings for Lieferandode and those restaurants coming from. They are probably all fake. I recommend you to uninstall Lieferandode immediately because the food is not trustworthy and the service is just terrible. Delivery people and restaurants are arrogant when you file a complaints. Delivery app like this should be eliminated from the market.

Poor Customer Service

Lieferandode fails to properly update the location of drivers in real time. For example, my food (90$ worth) showed its location as at the restaurant while my delivery driver was outside my house trying to get in touch with me, eventually leaving when he could not because he was using a dated phone number. The phone number was dated, by the way, because Lieferandode failed to register the update to my user profile which I input.

Instead of simply walking up to my apartment building and pushing the call button for the apartment with my name on it, the driver merely left. Later, customer service refused any refund. An awful experience. I can’t recommend finding a different food delivery app more. Thankfully, with Covid winding down, we can all start eating in restaurants again and lieferando will fade in importance.

Great restaurants, lousy app

Updating to add that their customer service, when a delivery goes wrong, is absolutely awful and insulting. Tiny token voucher rather than proper restitution for the trouble, like they’re saying “Here’s a few bucks, now shut up”. Then they follow up to ask how it went and ignore the feedback. JUST DELETE Lieferandode AND ORDER THROGH ANOTHER ONE, you’ll be glad you did! 😎

The people at Lieferando don’t seem to have much understanding of what their users might want, but at least their app does get the job done (in however a less than ideal fashion!) ... Why would anyone want immediate easy access to their order status once their order has been placed? Why would anyone want to see pictures of food from the restaurant they’re ordering from rather than random stock photos of food from the same “category”? 🤷‍♂️

Bad timing, bad communication, and poor transport of food

I made an order from a hotel at 4pm.
It said about 30 min time while making the order. Once inputted and paid, it updated to an hr for delivery.
At 5:01 I received an update that the driver was near and would arrive shortly.
But, at 5:20 I wrote to Lieferandode contact for support, as there was no other way to contact the driver.
The email returned with “working on it”.
At 5:45, 1.45hrs from order the hotel called and said man had my order.
The hot foods were cold, all was mushy, and the ice cream was melted.

The delivery guy said there was traffic for 5 min delay.

Please note this company was not worth the wait, cost, or frustration for crappy delivered food.

Cherry on top: no napkins and no utensils.

And the poor service continues.
Received a response from my review to engage with the developer and email them. I had already sent two emails, but decided to send another per the request of the review response. And again no response. Just an automated « received your email ». It is so sad how companies can be so disrespectful to their clients and do nothing about it.

Not bad.. BUT could be BETTER

I used Lieferandode a couple times and my only things I wish to see is that they offered different languages translations in the settings like to English. I really don’t understand most of what I’m ordering and have to use Google translate to constantly type words from Lieferandode to see what things are. Also the customization of food could be better, you can only ADD certain toppings and things to a food order but you can NEVER take anything away for example I don’t like onions on any of my food and it doesn’t allow the option to take onions off or anything else a person may not like on their food.

Don’t use this app ever again!

Tracking is NOT Functional

As someone from outside of Germany Lieferandode lacks many things you would assume are standard. There is no way to edit an address following the order, meaning that when I realized I had mistyped something I was unable to go back and it made it more difficult for the delivery person. Additionally, there is no way to contact that person to let them know. Since I don’t have a German number the delivery person didn’t want to contact my phone number because it would be an expensive international call. He ended up having to wait twenty minutes outside of my building while the tracker said 30 minutes remaining so I didn’t even think to check if he might be outside.

Great service

I am also in Germany and have successfully used it at 2 different addresses. Perhaps the previous commenter input the wrong address. It is not the apps fault if there is user error, food is late or not delivered. They are the middle man. We’ve actually ordered with them quite a bit during the quarantine period to support our local restaurants and have contactless delivery.

A break up letter

After you successfully gained a delivery monopoly in Berlin by purchasing the competition, I was stuck with you for a lack of other options. Never have I hated a service so much. Your app is fine, the cyclists and drivers are also super nice, but the service, a total disappointment. From deceitful delivery times to hours of waiting for cold food, to restaurants being zoned in a auch a way that something super close no longer delivers to me, presumably because the restaurant is also charged more, you have left me hangry many times.... The customer service was never helpful either. Well, Lieferando, we are breaking up. Wolt is here and I’m never looking back. Bye!

These people are thieves

I placed an order that said it would be delivered in thirty minutes. After two hours it still hadn’t arrived, and when I called the restaurant they marked my order as delivered even though it had never shown up. I had to leave for a concert, so I ended up just eating at the train station.

When I contacted Lieferando about it, they said that the food HAD shown up while I was at the concert, more than two hours late, and as a result I was not entitled to a refund or a credit. So I paid for a meal I didn’t get to eat, sat there starving for hours, and missed the opening act at the show I was attending.

How can you even run a business like this? Is more than two hours past the estimated delivery time seen as acceptable? Do you bear no responsibility for delivering the products you sell?

Anyway, avoid Lieferando like the plague. They have terrible service and take no responsibility for it, and will steal your money and refuse to give it back even when they fail to deliver the products you purchase.

Sloooooooowwww delivery

I have ordered from Lieferando several times in both Dresden and Frankfurt and I have never ever ever gotten my food earlier than 45 min after ordering - on average I would say it has taken 70-90 minutes. And there is no ability to find out where your food is through Lieferando - you have to call the restaurants, where almost always I have been told “oh yeah food is on the way already” and then still had to wait 30 min. What’s the point? With these kind of waiting times I might as well cook myself. I’m not going to use this anymore - only Foodora, bc at least there I get my food fairly quickly and I know where “on the way” it is. This service is a joke.

Slow Service and Inaccurate App

Let me just say that Lieferandode is light years behind other apps.
1 -Delivery time is misleading. Initial time of delivery and confirmation was 45 mins. This changed to 95 mins 2 minutes later.

2 - “Track your order” is a joke. Waited the 95 minutes and saw the progress tick down to 15, 10, 1 etc. Went outside and no delivery guy. App updated to 0 minutes but still no food. Called restaurant twice and they said any minute. 15 mins later, no food! App updated to “Delivered” so I called the restaurant “Hong Bin Taxi” and they said the driver was in another area finishing deliveries. It’s now 2 hours since time of delivery and NO FOOD!

What's On The Tin

As a native English speaker, I've found ordering out over the phone can be somewhat problematic due to my limited German. I've been using Lieferando for the last year after being told by an expat friend about this English friendly app and have with zero issues since. My food is always delivered fresh, hot and on time. My hats off to the developers for paying attention to the international crowd!

No customer service

Had a restaurant not deliver food. Needed to call restaurant myself to to track down what happened. Ask restaurant for refund. Then, also contact app people to request refund. Really? The people that wrote Lieferandode can also see the food tracker? No food being delivered should be handled by Lieferandode ; instead they treat the customer like it was their fault.

Good but could use updates from restaurants

I’ve gotten food twice and I get an update that my order was received but no feedback on when to expect our food, so it could be 45 minutes or 2 hours, kind of frustrating when you are hungry. This last order I put in at least let me choose a time for my food to get delivered so that was nice, 1:15 from now. Food quality has been pretty good.

Lieferando stole my money - never again

I made an order and did not receive it and Lieferando refuses to refund the money. They are telling me that it’s my fault for not waiting longer than 75 minutes after the agreed delivery window. My interaction with the call centre and with customer support via email can only be described as dark comedy. In addition to not giving me back my money for an order that was never received, they have sent me emails by accident where they are talking about me in a very unprofessional way. Never again. This company is a joke.

Good but no English

Second time ordering. It’s a good app. The food and delivery has been pretty good as well. I just wish that if I chose to view it in English that it would translate everything. The majority of the menus is still not in English even though in the settings I configured for English. It makes it a bit difficult but I guess it’s another reason to learn a new language.

Functionality between text and app do not connect

I order something off of the Lieferando website, Ger a text saying I can track it on Lieferandode , then click on the link and it asks me to open Lieferandode . When I do there’s no order available for me to track. Bottom line: fix Lieferandode and website link.

English speaker in Germany

Lieferandode has a lot of opportunity, but for an English speaker in Germany, even when the English language is chosen there is no translation of ingredients or menu options. This makes it extremely troublesome to use.

You're Better off just walking

Without a doubt the worst delivery app in the western world-
I only went back to it recently because the better, more reliable app died (RIP Deliveroo) the time estimates are in no way indicative of delivery ETAs , there's no way to search by distance or area (I've seen restaurants in my feed from a whole city away) and they will routinely and inexplicably tell you restaurants are closed even when you LITERALLY SEE THEM FROM YOUR WINDOW. You're better off just walking to the place yourself, avoid Lieferandode at all costs.

Just functional but very clunky

It works to get your food but it is very clunky. A bunch of little things add up to make it very hard to use. Some examples: scroll positions are off and parts of pages are inaccessible when the keyboard pops up, the signup and login forms don’t work with password managers, there are web views everywhere. All together feels like a “just ship it” product that has no love.

Effective but you loose your cart

Lieferandode is great and the service works pretty well. I've successfully made an order and it went smoothly except for some lag in the driver delivery.

The reason I give it 3 stars is if you mistakenly exit the menu there's no easy way back to your cart or the restaurant. It's very annoying and makes Lieferandode almost a turn off.

I understand that German is the language here but plenty of customers in my area are Americans. Having pictures in the menu would help a great deal to order food.

The worst

Lieferandode is terrible. For weeks they have made it impossible to input questions about pending orders. I had an order come last week which was missing half of the items and still have not heard back regarding a possible refund. I’ve never ordered food from Lieferando which has come in the originally promised timeframe. On top of that, the UI is very confusing and no where near as easy to use as the Deliveroo and Foodora apps.

Avoid, if you have the option

The day Deliveroo left Germany was a very sad day for me. The only option is this terrible service. Lieferandode looks like it was written by the cheapest developers they could find. Even when Lieferandode works, they don’t have enough drivers... not that they say this, just suddenly the restaurant is closed... at 7pm!! What a joke. Seriously Germany is in the digital dark ages compared to most other western countries.

Lieferando is the worst delivery service I’ve dealt with. The app constantly states delivery times which are consistently 30 min to 45 min shorter than the actual delivery time. And the app gives the choice to switch languages, but that doe not work most of the time. The owner of the app continuously tries to shift blame to the restaurants instead of taking responsibility for this horrible service. As an example, the problem of not translating the text after clicking the translate button is the responsibility of the app. I have even deleted and readied the app multiple times.
