Fabulous!!!!!!

I’m not the type of person that writes reviews, I have other ways to spend my time. But as a gourmet goddess who ventured out to make her own creme fraiche, I will definitely use JamiesRecipes! I love the pictures with each step and the ingredient amounts at the bottom so your not constantly flipping back and forth. Extremely well thought out. I did upgrade which is completely out of character for my being a stingy goddess lol. But well worth the price. The culinary recipes are top notch. No reason to go out and drop $100 for two when you can prepare restaurant quality at home! Thank you Jamie for this marvelous app!

Big love right back at you xoxo

Home retired old fossil!

I’m old (88) and live alone! Can’t do many things any more but love to watch Jamie. He’s fun and a brilliant chef. Some recipes are a little “much” for me alone. Some are good to
to have a second time. Anyway, I love his beautiful Australia accent! Could watch him all day long.

Support menu

Once you enter support menu JamiesRecipes stops working appropriately. Once you click on the support article to read you can’t close it, the only way to exit is to quit JamiesRecipes . Even the message to support cannot be sent. I don’t know if there needs to be an update for JamiesRecipes but it’s definitely frustrating. I’m using iPhone 8.

Good intentions, poor execution.

JamiesRecipes has great intentions, but it’s poorly built, hard to navigate, difficult to use and I found the usefulness of the step to step recipes and the tips & tricks to be nothing new to the cooking apps out there. There are better apps that are doing this already.

Love the app

I looooooooove JamiesRecipes and everything about it and about Jamie 😍😍😍😍😍

It’s ok

It’s free so that’s a plus but wasn’t exactly what I was looking for . I want an app that’s like his 5 ingredient show.

Very helpful

I like it

Terrible

You have to pay for the recipes. Avoid.

It's practically all I use!

I bought 20-minute meals a couple of years ago and have been cooking from it a few times a week since then. I was disappointed at first that there were no additional recipes for that app. But then one day I happened upon JamiesRecipes, Jamie Oliver's Recipes, and found that it had extra packs that you can buy and it automatically included the ones in the 20-Minute Meals that I already have. Very pleased. The only small request I would make is that the ingredient amounts printed on the tan colored panel at the bottom of each image/step is written in a very small font, I couldn't tell the difference between 1/4 teaspoon and 3/4 teaspoon. You can read it more easily in another view but I would have liked to have been able to use the iPad/Apple finger motion to enlarge the screen but it did not work. But really, love JamiesRecipes .

I swore to never buy an app...this app is the exception

I was disappointed after downloading the free version to only have ten recipes (they do cycle in and out so some new ones will appear if you wait long enough). But after a few weeks the six month subscription was well worth the money. The step by step pictures are so helpful, along with the videos, they have made me a better cook and understand food. I love the grocery list manager. It lets you cross off things you already have, and saves me time in the store. I also love how it will arrange by recipe so you can easily find the recipe you bought things for. And it can email the list to my phone (not an iPhone). The recipes were not our usual "taste" but I haven't found a recipe my family doesn't love (including my picky two year old) and expanding our horizon is always a good thing. I particularly love the 10 and 20 minute recipes. They are quick which lets me spend more time with my daughter after work and daycare. Though I did need to invest in a food processor to make them 20 minutes. Chopping the veggies by hand makes them closer to 30 or 40 min depending.
The only down side I can think of is some of the items I could only find at whole foods. It is more expensive but getting the family to eat better quality foods is a good trade off. Also, I wish the recipes in JamiesRecipes gave nutritional information like the website.
Overall I love, love, love JamiesRecipes!

Nicely done but...

JamiesRecipes is nicely put together and enjoyable to look at and has a couple of good recipes to start you off, but the need to buy recipes to get very much content is not something I'm interested in. I certainly don't begrudge the authors/Jamie needing to be paid for their content and ideas but personally, it's easier to go to the epicurious or food network apps for recipes on a broad range of styles and tastes. I enjoyed looking at some of the photos in JamiesRecipes but they're just window dressing unless you are a fairly inexperienced cook, e.g. grating ginger, slicing onions; or enjoy looking at photos of food being prepared. The audio content is not too useful unless you are literally not turning pages until ready to move to the next step, if you do move ahead so you know what to do next you'll hear, "don't forget the rice" each time you cross that page.

The seller is really stuck between offering a visually appealing fun to use app that by necessity is expensive in both useful content and memory use, or creating a less cool, less gadgety app with lots of recipes but then you don't end up on best app of the year lists. It's tough choice.

In the end if you absolutely love Jamie Oliver recipies and don't mind spending $20 for all the content, then this might be JamiesRecipes for you. If you want to find an app with a broader range of recipes that doesn't eat your memory then you might want to look elsewhere.

Awesome

It is very cool. Has step directions. The pictures are very good, they really compliment the directions in the description on each of the individual pages. It has a feature where you can control the slides with your voice if your hands are ever full or messy! The only cons I have found is that it crashes once in a while when you first open it up, it only happens when you close JamiesRecipes with the directions open. So what you do is open it again, if it crashes... open it again, then it should pick up right where you left off (No harm done!) The only other thing that I absolutely wish was in JamiesRecipes, was the nutrition facts for each meal (It has how much of every ingredient, just not the nutritional value for the meal.) Jamie and app designers, if you could fix those two things.... It would be a PERFECT APP! Other than that, it is a really, really, really, GREAT APP! So would recommend to anyone, skilled cooker or beginner cook! 5 STARS!

Really cool application for chefs at any level

Jamie is on the cutting edge with this application, and I'm really excited about it! I love the interactive nature and the beautiful pictures, as well as the little tips and videos that really make the kitchen a whole lot less scary for newbies like myself. O e aspect that I really like is that I never feel lost, as the videos and tips always provide solid directions for amateurs (which other cookbooks seem to forget exist), and the directions are quite clear and combined with accurate pictures to boot. I really like this effort by a great chef, and I look forward to additional recipe packs to come. From a consumer's point of view, the only addition that I would like to see is the ability to mix-and-match a pack (perhaps 5 recipes of my choice for $.99, for example). Please keep up the great work, and thank you for this excellent application!

Love Jamie

I am a longtime fan of Jamie Oliver's. Not only is he amazing, but he and his recipes have helped make it possible to feed myself healthy, delicious meals when my energy levels are down. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, and spending everyday in pain often makes it hard for me to have enough energy and gumption to cook for myself. Cooking has always been one of my favorite ways to relax, so it's doubly frustrating. If it weren't for Jamie and his whack-it-up and smash-it-in relaxed style, I don't know what I would have done. He made cooking fun again, and the results are amazing (Jamie's food redefined fresh cooked simply for me.) You, still learn techniques--especially with JamiesRecipes. I knew how to cook well before, but my skills have even gotten better, and beginners will be well cared for by Jamie. I highly recommend the bacon, white bean, and tomato soup. Love Jamie.
