8/26: Nope, nope, nope! Absolutely zero improvement from the update 21 hours ago.
Series with no scheduled next episodes are still listed before those with next episode dates, in no discernible order.
It seems that my entire watching history is gone. New seasons and new series are starting but I had a record of episodes I still haven’t seen. I’m several seasons into Shameless, somewhere in Season 4. Clicking on seasons of this & every other series wipes them clean as though I’ve seen none of the episodes of that season.
8/25: I see there were several updates since I last used Episoder to update my recent watching history. It was fine earlier this month (Aug 2018) but now is a complete, or rather, incomplete mess.
Some eps being counted twice yielding double the actual number of episodes. When clicking on the Season # indicating already watched eps, no eps are shown & when closed it switches to no episodes have been watched.
Please fix. It’s worse than before the new versions.
I care about my privacy and do not use apps that track my activity. I liked the simplicity lf Episoder PAID for the pro version (to support the developers) and been using it for years. However in the past few years the functionality has been stagnant but they made sure to pass updates for Episoder where NOW they TRACK your activity, which is REALLY disappointing.

Since last update, will immediately close when opened
Episoder is nice, as good options and is easy to use.
But there are some shows I've been watching that are 10+ episodes into a new season and Episoder says there are no episodes or seasons of it. There was another show that I didn't think was having more episodes because Episoder didn't have any and I didn't look, the other day Episoder finally caught up to add 6 missed episodes into my watchlist. To make that worse there is no way to add or recommend adding episodes, or any way to contact the developer.
Good app, but I have to use two apps to get all of my shows in and properly updated in real time, or else keep track of them myself. Both of which defeat the point of Episoder .
App no longer pulls up any episode summary like it used to. Makes me sad.
*Edit
I am now unable to add any more shows...? Every time I search it just gives a big fat X. Sigh
This was EXACTLY what I was looking for to keep up with when each of my favorite shows would air new episodes, but it needs a lot of work as it is right now.
As has been stated in other reviews, Episoder is S-L-O-W. Not only that, but I usually have to try 6-10 times to get Episoder to even start; it usually crashes before getting past the initial load screen, and the times it does get into the application, it is usually slow to respond or crashes frequently.
That said, I really love the simplicity of Episoder 's design, and if it loaded reliably and quickly, I would give it 5 stars. As it is now, though, I am making due with the "favorites" piece of What's On TV from Zap2it.
While the speed in loading data upon opening may have improved, slightly, my iPhone crashes at the end of that process and I have to sign back in. Surely speed can be improved noticeably, and without crashing. Also, the addition of the calendar requires an in-app purchase, which is not clear from the description of the changes. I'm happy I grabbed the update because of the slight improvement, but I expected the calendar was one of the improvements, not a means of making money from existing users.
By the way, how is it that the speed has improved? My iPhone shuts down before a sync can complete. I'm thinking the update is 30x slower, not faster. Still like Episoder ...just concerned about the accuracy of the representations about this update. Also, even when sorting by date, Episoder no longer puts upcoming episodes in their date order -- I have about four shows that do that at the beginning, then all of the fall/spring shows with no upcoming dates in the middle, followed by the rest of my list of summer shows. It didn't used to do this --
I have been using Episoder for a few years and it has been invaluable as a tv junkie. However I recently had it freeze up while searching for a show and I had to delete and reinstall and lost years worth of data. Unfortunately it is head and shoulders above all other similar apps. But it is a few things away from being a 5-star app. First, it needs some kind of synching and preferably a way to update online as well. Second, the server needs to be more reliable. It often takes a while to search and update and sometimes can't even reach the server. Third, PLEASE bring back the status update of the show. I like knowing which shows are returning, canceled or on the bubble. That was one of my favorite features. Don't care much about the calendar so the fact that I've read some bad feedback about that doesn't bother me.
This is a great app as it is, but it could be so much better. If they added the ability to set a country you wouldn't have to wade through shows you can never watch. Also the ability to choose a time zone would be greatly appreciated. You can set a plus/minus number of hours, but -5 hours was not enough to get U.S. Eastern standard time. Please add the ability to send an entire season to your calendar at once. It is quite tedious to add your shows to your calendar one episode at a time and then to have to change the time for each after they are in the calendar makes a great idea hard to love.
I believe Episoder has incredible potential if the developer can add filters and a better calendar interface.
I love Episoder and have been using it for a long time now. It used to give us the option of updating shows when we opened it. Now it automatically updates when opened. By doing so it moves all the shows on the schedule for that day to the next week. I want to know which of my shows are playing today so I can mark them off as I watch them not search for them. Please don’t allow it to update the current date of shows until the day after.
Love Episoder . Basically does what I want it to do... Track the shows I watch. However, the start up is horrendous. Especially if you track alot of shows. It takes forever. 5 mins for an app to start is bad. Also, I love the show list. Great way to go thru shows to find what you want. However it's so long that it would be nice to have the option of what to show in the list. For example, only US show or only canadian shows or british shows, etc. Also have option to only show current shows or even only canceled/ended shows. Additionally having someplace to view upcoming shows i.e. Pilots. And finally it would be nice to have a tab for current news related to my shows. Cancellations. Or actor related news. Stuff like that.

I gave the new update. Runs MUCH faster. Great improvement. Only problem now is that I'm not getting any show updates. Even though I'm marking off shows as watched on a daily basis, in the My Shows view all shows still have the date from 2 weeks ago. Also when I click on show info Episoder crashes.
Only other downside. I had to delete all my shows to upgrade to the last update. 2 hours of work. Hopefully that won't be the case with next update. If it is I'll just quit Episoder.
I have to agree with Tru Slayer, Episoder works fine. It IS a little slow and a bit on the plain side (as the screenshots show) but I personally like the clean approach. It has found all of the shows I have thrown at it so far including two that have concluded several years ago. The episode list is laid-out a bit strangely: ascending episode numbers with descending season numbers. Plus it would be nice if it would open the list to the last checked episode to make checking the next not require scrolling through the list. Especially when you are watching an old series. Give Episoder some zip, tweak the episode checklist (maybe put a listing of the last watched episode under the next airing episode in the header that auto advances when you click on it), and perhaps move the country selection to the settings menu and Episoder will be great and worth paying for.
Update: Apparently changing the country completely wipes the show list. So, definitely do something with the country buttons. Removing a star, sorry but that seems like a pretty big 'Oops.'
I loved Episoder and have relied heavily on it for a few years. But recently I have noticed tons of
Shows that I do have saved are currently playing but not coming up on my calendar. I love you guys and would even purchase a version if needed be. So simple yet totally effective it’s all I need.
I love the way Episoder puts together the shows you tell it about but the access is kind of slow. It has a really great way of showing you what episodes exist and allowing you to mark them as viewed. You can also see a calendar of upcoming episodes.
It could use a better search tool. If you don't recall the name of the show it is too bad. It should allow selecting from lists by network, genre, cast member, etc. They could learn a little on the search side from IMDB.
Still worth four stars! Heck I would pay for a better search or more details about episodes.
I’ve downloaded a lot of free apps to track my tv shows and this one is by far the best! What I love most about Episoder is being able to easily see how many Unwatched episodes I have for all my shows, which appear on my To Watch list. When a show is up to date and all episodes are watched, it’s removed from my list until a new episode airs. Other apps don’t do this! There are a few glitches every once in a while, but the support team is very responsive and issues are fixed quickly.
This is the best TV Episode tracker that I’ve ever had since long time ago and I’m very happy that’s still here in Episoder Store, not like the others which the developer not updated anymore. I’m using iPhone 15 Pro - IOS 17.5 and I’m very and still works thats why I come here just to leave my experience and review.
I have found Episoder to be awesome and just what I'm looking for to keep track of what episodes I've seen. The listing of shows is huge!
Important note - at first I thought that newer episodes of shows were not available, which was a little frustrating. I have learned through use that the secret to having Episoder work perfectly is to very frequently hit the refresh button at the top right. Even if you just added a series to your library, hit the refresh button and it will upload the recent episodes. That's the key !
I really like the new update. The new look is beautiful and the new list of top 100 series is a great addition to Episoder . I've already seen some series I would like to know more of.
What I would also like is a list of the newest added series to Episoder (maybe listed on popularity?). That way you can even more use Episoder to not only keep track of your series, but also find new ones to watch with this app:)
Overall, I think this is the best app there is to keep track of which episodes of a series you have already seen and which you can still watch.
I love Episoder! I have tried every free app and this is the best one. No ads. They even tell me how much time I have watched. It tells whether shows are running, producing or canceled. And they have a calendar/back up add on for only 1.99 This is a great app, I recommend to any tv lovers like me!
Love the update!! The personalization options are very nice thanks!!
***I had issues with shows not updating, started using a $1.99 tv tracker app, it SUCKED compared to this one. I complained to this app support and they fixed it so fast! I am back to Episoder, going on four years. Love it, recommend it above all others! I have tried every free app and the cheap ones. Episoder IS BETTER THEN THEM ALL!!!
I watch a lot of TV series but never on the original air dates so its very hard to keep track of what I have or have not seen. Therefor I have been trying to find something to help, computer software, desktop widgets and other mutiple other iPhone apps all to absolutly no avail. I mean really how hard was it to make a app with this simple function! It was getting to a point where I was pricing a Apple Computer so i could teach myself the iPhone SDK and create an app myself. Then I found this app and it is exactley what I was looking for and in fact almost identical to the design I was working on. Danny Grob proves that at least some of the people out there that know how to program apps should in fact be programing them.
