I’ve used the previous version for years. Could view all my pdf file then email them to clients. Joe I can’t view any file without emailing it to myself, then forwarding the file. Old version was much better m, easy to view and email files. Please bring it back. Can’t recommend Carbonite until it fixed. Been a customer for years.

I have to reinstall Carbonite at least twice a week because it stops loading. In between, it crashes constantly when trying to search files. Not even worth the effort anymore and after 15 years as a customer, this will be my last year! Do the developers even use it?

April 2024 update. Although I canceled, it doesn’t expire until June. I was excited to see they upgraded Carbonite recently so I gave it another chance. After upgrading I wasn’t able to log in, once again it wouldn’t get past the load screen. so I deleted Carbonite and reinstalled it and was able to log in one time; but it crashed after searching for a file. The next day it wouldn't get past the log in screen. I keep reinstalling it to get some use out of it but even when I can sign I , it crashes repeatedly when searching for a file. So much for an upgrade. What a joke this company has become. Glad I canceled.

I’m happy to see this app has a mobile app again, but this one isn’t helpful at all. You can view photos, but you can’t open PDF files Excel files, or Word documents. You can see these files if you email them to yourself, but that’s a real pain. When I’m out and need to see a document, I don’t have the time to play games trying to view a file. Please fix this.

Ever since the last update a few weeks ago, Carbonite stalls on the loading screen. Many rounds of closing/relaunching, toggling networks, rebooting, etc. and every once in an while it will load… but then regularly crashes when loading a long directory list. If this doesn’t get fixed soon, I’ll need to start shopping for a replacement service.

Long time this app user of over ten years and Carbonite comes and goes and I think it’s time to go again. You login and nothing works, it will show your backed up computers but good luck trying to see a list of anything. Next I’ll complain about just how crappy the product is on MAC devices about once a month you have to reinstall the application on your MacBook just to hopefully get it to backup your device.

I get the log in screen but the iPhone mobile app just spins and it doesn’t connect. I’ve deleted Carbonite , reinstalled it, and it worked for about 5 minutes, then abruptly crashed and now I can’t connect again.

I can connect to my account via the web and it is backing up files on my PC, but I use the mobile app frequently to access photos, docs, etc. on the go and now I can’t.

I miss the old app and was excited the new improved version they promised was out. That is until I downloaded it and tried to log in.

I keep getting an error message to complete the CAPTCHA below but there IS NO CAPTCHA displayed anywhere on either my iPhone or iPad. I logged into this app through their website to verify I remembered my password correctly AND verified my email address under settings.

Still same error message and still no Captcha displayed.😡

The latest version is a major step backwards. Can no longer easily advance through a folder of photos as you previously were able to. Now have to open each one individually. I primarily access my backed up files from my phone and need a functioning app. After years of using this app, I’m seriously considering whether to renew my subscription or look at alternatives that my provide the baseline functionality previously available through the this app app.

I have found that every few days Carbonite is not able to be opened. When trying to open it, it just spins and spins, and spins, never opening. I’ve tried force closing it. Nothing. I’ve tried rebooting the phone. Same thing. The only fix that seems to work is uninstalling Carbonite and then reinstalling it. Seems to work for a few days and less than a week later its back to infinite spin. When it works its great. But mostly it doesn’t work.

I used to love this app because I could easily access all my backed-up photos and swipe through them to find what I want. Now the “new” app only lets me see thumbnails. When I click on one, I get an enlarged photo, but have to go back to the list of thumbnails to see the next one. I’ll give it until my subscription ends in 45 days and if that function isn’t restored I’ll cancel and seek out another service.

Ok well let’s give credit where due - they listened to the deluge of negative feedback and reacted relatively quickly and and now we CAN easily view files (PDF/XLS/DOC at least) in Carbonite without going through the cumbersome process to save the files to the phone first. Major hole still is lack of thumbnail support for HEIC image files so hopefully they can get to that too soon.

I did click Carbonite support button through Carbonite Store, and it takes me to a “page not found” on your website, so this is the only place I can mention this. Carbonite has been crashing for the past couple of weeks. I log in, find my file scroll around, and it crashes and shuts down. Every time.

I am happy Carbonite is back - we get emails regularly about our account, why not an e-blast saying it’s back? I’ll be testing it for usability and so far so good.

You used to be able to view file contents. That has been taken away, without first having to forward it to yourself is a file to your email. Extra step is time consuming, confusing and not user friendly. Not happy with new app at all.

I am not able to access my files using the mobile app. Keep getting a message’Try Again” This message appears on both my iPhone & iPad. Carbonite needs to be fixed

App for iOS 16 no longer opens. Just spins. This has been the case for over a month. Deleted and reinstalled twice! Renewal date coming soon. If it is still not working, I’ll be switching vendors.

Dear this app, I just want to thank you for the great Back-up/recovery service you provide to me. It works seamlessly and for me, when I need to Search for a Document, often I cannot find directly on my computer, the this app pops it right up, saving me time and frustration. When I call for technical assistance, that occurs rarely, the this app Representatives are outstanding.

I was so happy to see a new mobile app to use on my iPhone. I loved having my documents at my fingertips and was so dismayed when this capability stopped a while ago. Unfortunately, as stated in another review there is not access to Word files. Hoping Carbonite is still in the midst of change and it goes back to being as great as it was a few years ago.

I had an older version of Carbonite but lost it when I switched phones. At that time Carbonite was not available because they were working at home this one. When I got it I was so disappointed that you had to send a file to Acrobat, or a PDF app to read it. But now with this update were you can view them immediately it is FANTASTIC! And seems to be faster than the older app. Great job with this last update

I recently renewed my subscription because I use this mobile app several times daily. Having been able to access the thousands of files while away from my laptop was a tremendous help to my job and especially for customer inquiries. Now I’m sorry I renewed. Seeing file statistics does not help me at all. I know that I can forward the files to myself via email or text, but that’s a step back, not an enhancement. With the tremendous number of apps that enhance accessibility on mobile devices, why would the developer not continue to allow file access without this extra step. This has taken me from a 5 star rating to1 star. Please consider restoring file access on Carbonite.
