In my opinion I really think that (GILT’S), has the best prices in town. An, the most beautiful clothes, shoes and other items. Plus, I like that (GILT’S), will hold your items in your cart as long as they can because some stores is not as nice as (GILT’S), and I really appreciate that about there company. I only wish that I were rich were I could go a head and get my items when I find them. But, like I stated earlier (GILT’S), is good about holding your items as long as they can. Also, the company is good about trying to get you the items that you want if they are sold out! Not What It Used to Be
I have been a loyal GILT shopper for YEARS purchasing most of my clothes from the site. I spent a lot and regularly to achieve Noir status, which entitled me to top positions on item waitlists and gave me credits when certain dollar thresholds were reached. The waitlist or wishlist was essentially how I did my shopping. Things were much more interesting and exclusive. The search feature on GILT used to be so robust and has been seriously dumbed down in this new model. Rue La La was fine for other purchases and some very nice things but was generally second tier. When GILT was purchased by Rue La La, they essentially became the same site in my opinion and the things I loved the most about GILT were no more. Other than cashing in some credits I had and buying ONE workout outfit, I no longer use them and it has been so terribly disappointing. The site looks and feels like Rue La La, so why bother? I’ve switched over to Yoox. I will always miss my former favorite shopping experience. Poor customer service folks have the same insufficient response for what’s now lacking on the site and I am just weary of it all. I hate it when people mess with a good thing.
Update: Wow!!! Just when I thought Gilt couldn’t get any worse, it did. The same item I mentioned down below was sent back for a return on July 2nd. I just spoke to an employee who told me it takes 3 days for the facility you drop the package off to actually ship the item, then it takes 7-10 business days for the item to get to Gilt’s warehouse, then it takes 7-10 business days from the time they receive it to process your refund. It takes up to 23 business days for a return!?! All of this with absolutely NO way to track the return process. I don’t even have any previous orders listed in my account, and now I have $1,000 lost in limbo somewhere because Gilt is a Trumpian monster. Thanks for less than nothing!!!!!! Gilt will sell you defective products and then refuse to accept them as a return or offer you any kind of solution! The way they handle their shipping is exceptionally frustrating. It is shipped through FedEx but delivered through USPS so Gilt claims less than 0% of responsibility if anything goes wrong, like when my items say delivered but they are nowhere to be found. Never using Gilt again :)
What has happened to Gilt?
I have been shopping with Gilt for many, many years and it has always been a stellar shopping experience, but in the last 8-10 months the site has gone completely downhill. You can waste hours trying to put an order together (need to keep reordering every 9 minutes as items disappear from cart as has always been an issue) but when you go to place the order a gray screen will pop up and state “your order can not be placed due to technical error....please try again later”. When you try to call customer service you can hold from 15-30 minutes and once an agent gets on the phone after 30-60 minutes of trying to resolve issue your items are no longer available and they just apologize verbally but do not a thing to help complete your transaction. This site is a complete mess and complete waste of customers time. Such a shame as it was such a delightful site to use in the past. Buyer beware and stay away from this site.
Great range but “unlimited shipping” is misleading
I love the wide array of brands and products on Gilt, but after paying for “unlimited” annual shipping, it turns out that returns are $9.99 shipping EVERY TIME. Had I known that, I would have passed on the “unlimited” shipping. Having to pay $10 to return ship each item is a disincentive to buy from Gilt when almost every other retailer offers free return shipping. Also, most of the truly discounted items are “final sale” (which isn’t a big deal because they’re often super cheap); however, the very minimally discounted designer items are almost all final sale. Of course in the fine print there’s a disclaimer that Gilt is not an authorized seller of these items, which means they’re probably returns with some damage. I personally don’t care enough about a 5-10% discount to be willing to get stuck with an item that’s already been used.
I love gilt. Been using it for years. I dig that the clock ticks away. Otherwise you could spend hours looking at stuff and I don’t have that kind of time. It forces me to make a decision so I know I’ve gotta get busy. It always helps me round out my shopping and just now it saved me driving out yet another day for family. I just have to make myself NOT look at it every day. Oh yes. And the couple times I’ve had to return thing it has been no trouble at all, no questions asked. I would add one thing: Mr Porter has a feature you should have. A “Fit” description. “This item runs small so purchase a half size up.” Or “Fits true to size.” Im betting that would save you a host of returns. dorian
I used to love this app! I have shopped with Gilt for YEARS- but now there is now way to waitlist items, or “like” items - so there no way to find them later if you are not ready to purchase them. I used to put items into my cart, and the move item I was not sure about to my waitlist so I could purchase items I definitely wanted and could have more time to think about item I was not sure about. Not now - now you have to return to the sale and hope you can find it again! Also the search feature is not pulling up all the items in a brand anymore... I have searched brands that are available in select sales, and items that I have seen in the sale are not listed when I search the brand. Very annoying. This used to be very user friendly and has, frankly, become cumbersome to use. Too bad, so sad. If it is not fixed, I fear that many long time customers (like me) will stop using this site.
New Updates make this app less user friendly
It used to be easier to browse on Gilt. The new updates such as mixing all the ‘sold out’ items in the content instead of at the bottom makes it confusing. The appearance of the ‘sold out’ graphic also used to be clearer where it would be grey-ed out. Gilt city also became very confusing as to why it is displaying offers in other cities that are not relevant. There should be an option to display only offers that are relevant to you based on location. They should also bring back the feature where we could save all the items that we like and having recommendations based on those items. Overall, the new updates are not really improving the app and completely change it’s accessability. The old version was definitely much more user friendly and helpful.

I’ve been shopping with Gilt for yrs. They have great products as u can see at good prices. They have my favorite moisturizer always cheaper to buy from them. Everyday is different ! It’s fun to see what they have everyday from lamps to some of the coolest stuff I’ve ever seen. They have a different kind of return center I bought a pair of Velentino eyeglasses and told them I didn’t know they were women’s the picture to me didn’t look like men’s . They returned them no questions ask. Most things unless they are defective if u find u need a return all u can do is hope they will take it back unless specified. I love this app and u will to ENjOY Mark W. Walker
Gilt has proven to be a worthy app when seeking designer clothing, home decor, kitchen items, etc., etc. The ONLY ISSUE I have is that you can no longer “Love” an item that would be transferred to an area where you can go back to it when you are ready to purchase it. Being retired and on disability my funds are beyond limited, but every once in a while, when I can scrape a few pennies together, I treat myself to a designer favorite and Gilt can make that happen!! Ten minute reserve way too short!
Ten minutes for items in my bag to remain reserved is simply not enough time. It gives me anxiety watching the clock run out. It takes a long time for me to shop if I’m getting more than one item, which is always. The clock always runs out on me. Every single time I shop. So I have to go back and re-enter the merchandise, Or checkout and hope it’s still available. IDK if “no longer reserved” means they’re no longer in my bag, or just that my items are now available for other shoppers to snag which is not cool if I got the last item. It should be at least 30 mins to an hour, IMO. Other than that it’s great seeing the original high retail price next to the sale price. It’s like drugs for my shopper’s high! Thank you!
What happened to notifications?
I have used this app for so many years and it has gone down hill as far as ease of use goes. What happened to notifications on new sales? I shouldnt have to open the app everyday to browse sales when I’m Premier level. In the past, you were able to set calendar notifications for upcoming sales so you knew as soon as they opened. OR if you had status you had early access and were given a heads up as well. Also, the point of having status seems to not matter. Almost all of the items I want to buy I have to get on a waitlist for, because the item is sold out and I never get off the waitlist. Not sure what their system is but it does not work. I would literally buy everything from Gilt if I was actually able to buy it!
Useless in that you can’t buy stuff, zero value
It is hard to understand why an app with so much potential in the shopping domain would not fix final checkout glitches. I am not all furious but I do feel guilty about having wasted a few hours trying to spend almost 700 dollars purchasing some clothes that I was unable to check out. First, it will error as credit card method not authorized and on retry it will say the items are no longer available. If you go back to item page, the item is available to add. Hire some good developers, Gilt. I think the UI and database are not in sync and the payment gateway is messed up. There is probably a good number of consumers like me that will stop using this app right now. Also, it would be nice if you could respond to consumer reviews or at least incorporate constructive feedback.
Terrible Customer Service
Yes, the app has gone downhill lately and so has the service at Gilt. I purchased a final sale item that took 3 months to be delivered. In that time, the price of the item went down $100 and they would not honor the price reduction even though my order had not shipped. They could not cancel my order either. It seems that many of the products come directly from the supplier and Gilt loses control of the Oder and any ability to alter, refund, or cancel a purchase. But worse than that, they have no idea the quality or condition the item is in when it is shipped to you. Once my order did arrive, it was damaged. I ordered a picture that had an acrylic overlay and it was cracked, scratched, and had chips all around the edges. The framing was even coming apart in places. It now sits in storage. Beware!
App keeps inquiring about new app
I love Gilt. The shopping experiences, and customer service experiences (over the phone) has been great for me. The items and the merchandise that they offer is pretty good. I would love to see more buying options for one person, in regards to restaurants and events. The only problem I have is the app keep asking me If I want to download the app and I already have it. It’s been going on for a while would love to see this fixed. I rebooted, erased and cleaned the phone to its original, right out of the box condition and re-downloaded the app, hoping that any bugs in it would be resolved, and it still ask me about downloading the app. Please fix this problem.
