Great

This is a great app, great bank! convenient!, no fees!, 24 hour over draft protection if you overdraft from spending (checking account) it will automatically take from your savings to stop you from getting a penalty which cost 7-15$ for your own good because it’s not a credit card!, with the virtual wallet account you get a checking , Savings , and a reserve account you can only pull money out of your reserve so many times or you’ll get penalized which they’ll just take it away from you and I belive charge you 7-15$ but it’s for your own self control to not spend out of that account you get like 5 transfers from that account a month I believe it’s a great way to save money. you can transfer money from checking to savings all you want. You can send money to friends with zelle, there are Pnc atms at every speed way to with drawl from only for no charge 20$ ,40$ 100$ ect, this is the best bank and app no doubt about it ive had 33 cents in my account for 2 months and it’s okay that want you as a customer! And the bankers are very helpful they took off a 22$ fee I had received from a misunderstanding so there verry friendly! 100% only bank I’ll ever use for the rest of my life, best part about it is you can manage all of your money from your phone and even deposit checks by takeing a picture, (takes up to 1 day) and don’t void the check untill it’s forsure deposited. I recommend this bank to every one :)

Couple improvements needed....

I really love using the features of PNC’s virtual wallet. My issues are this and I hope the developers will listen to this and make some improvements. I totally understand the need for security and auto logging a person out after inactivity, but you need to consider that a person may need time to scroll through their activity and budget their bills etc. I can barely work with my spreadsheet without being auto logged out before I’ve had a chance to look at anything. This is getting highly annoying. How about a feature in settings where someone like me could hit a button that says “keep me logged in until I sign out” that would be my choice and security would be my responsibility. I’m sitting at home doing my bills and don’t want to be logged out every two seconds as if I were at Starbucks. Please developers give me an option.
Secondly, in order to go into the reserve section of account to see how you’ve allotted monies saved for certain items you have to go online through a browser, PNCVirtualWallet will only show you how much money is in reserve, but you cannot access what is for what or rearrange the funds. Please incorporate this into PNCVirtualWallet . As it is now , PNCVirtualWallet is limited and causes me to have to login the website anyway to fully see what I have allotted and repurpose funds. If I have to go to website for that why am I using PNCVirtualWallet ?
Please developers look at these issues.

Not working well with iPhone XS Max

I would have given PNCVirtualWallet more stars if I was still using my iPhone 7 (my main complaint then was that I’d more often than not, get a message saying that the web ice wasn’t available and to try again later. My main issue now with the XS Max is that the facial recognition function will not work. It starts out like it’s going to do facial recognition. I even get a check mark like it worked but then a pop up appears saying that there’s an error and that the service is unavailable - please try again later. So then I sign in using my password and every time I do that I have to answer a security question because PNCVirtualWallet isn’t recognizing my device. This doesn’t just happen after app updates - it happens every time I log in. Even though I’ve check marked “remember this device”. And then when I get into PNCVirtualWallet it asks if I want to sign in using Face ID. So I press “Use Face ID” and on the next screen I check the box to use Face ID and try to press “accept” at the bottom of the screen - however that button doesn’t work. Doesn’t matter how many times I press it or how long I press it. So I have to cancel out of it. To the developers - Please fix this - I don’t have the option of using the thumbprint anymore and this makes signing in so much more cumbersome.

I hate PNC Bank!!

I have been a PNC Bank customer for four years and it is the worst! It really is not for small customers because if you're not making the kind of money where you can pay all your bills and still keep hundreds of dollars in the account then you'll never be able to cash a check. I don't care what kind it is or who it is from. I had to cash a state treasury check at another bank before because PNC wouldn't let me because I didn't have enough money in my account to cover the check. It doesn't matter how big or small the check is, you will have to go somewhere else to cash the check which is redundant, especially when some people only get bank accounts so they can cash checks without issue and or for free. PNCVirtualWallet is terrible. Crashes repeatedly. They told me to download it to deposit the checks so that I could have the money available immediately to me. After I finally got through the whole process without it crashing, I still couldn't get any cash and all I wanted was a little pocket change for the weekend. Plus, if it did do it, it was gonna charge me two dollars. For a dollar more, I could have just took the checks somewhere else and got them cashed. Pointless. I'm just done. Mother's Day weekend and thanks to my sorry bank I can't even make sure I have money in my pocket for it. This was last time going through this with PNC. I hope they get what they deserve!

Like it but....

I really like PNCVirtualWallet but.....
I don’t understand why there’s two separate apps.
The main website contains all the information that you need but it is not ideal for a mobile phone.
Each app has information that the other one doesn’t. You have to look at both apps each time you want to pay bills or reconcile your account.
It’s just easier to use the website on my phone even though it doesn’t work the best. One example is, if I click on a check number to find out what that check is for the pop-up box is hard to find and see on the phone.
Both don’t contain the actual calendar that you get on the main website and you can’t set up reminders.
It’s very frustrating especially when I do ALL my banking online. It seems like such a waste to have both apps when they are both not thorough. Although the virtual wallet app is definitely better than the PNC app.
I have spoken to someone at a branch and they gave me to a number to call. On that call I explained this situation. We even got on the different apps and website at the same time. She was able to see the differences. She stated that she would pass along the information. About 2 to 3 weeks later PNC did a update on the regular app and I was hoping that there would be at least some improvements but there was none!
So even though I’m not totally pleased with the apps I am pleased overall with the combination of the apps and the website.
It’s just too bad I have to use both apps to do what I need to do.

This app does a great job of catering to today’s virtual banking users

I have been using PNCVirtualWallet to monitor and manage my accounts with PNC and I find that I rarely need to use any other PNC app or making a trip to a brick and mortar branch. The ease and convenience of handling everyday banking tasks combined with the user friendly overviews and monitoring makes this a great choice for my busy schedule. The only thing I am not totally happy with is the new overview page setups as they seem a bit too limited and weren’t always this way. The number of transactions that it shows you on the home screen has been severely reduced. That being said this may also be user error and controlled by settings, however I did make attempts to find out if this was the case and I was unable to locate any options for that issue. I still wouldn’t qualify that as a good enough reason for me to be unhappy with PNCVirtualWallet as a whole, and I will most definitely continue using PNCVirtualWallet for the foreseeable future!

Annoying bug

Overall, I like Virtual Wallet. The “free balance,” which takes into account all of your upcoming bills and pending transactions is probably the single best feature, as you always know how much is safe to spend.
However, PNCVirtualWallet could have a lot more features, particularly regarding the online bill pay. There is a lot of functionality which is only available through the website, which is a shame. Compared to other banking apps, this one is overdue for an update!
Also, annoyingly, they just can’t seem to get FaceID right. This is the only app that I’ve had to delete and reinstall numerous times just because Face ID stops working. Often, it makes you re-enter your password and won’t allow Face ID to function until you delete PNCVirtualWallet . And when you do enter your password, it almost never remembers that you use the same phone every time, and wants your security questions again.
Finally, PNC is slow with updates. PNCVirtualWallet does not work well with iOS 13, although this is not surprising as they’re often late to update PNCVirtualWallet for new iOS features or software updates.

I Love PNC and their Mobile App

I have been banking for many years and I truly love their customer service and their app. My local branch is out of the way to get to, but I consistently have great service of any kind. They are a more conservative bank so do not take risks other banks may take, but that is wise in my opinion. I have had times when PNCVirtualWallet was not functioning at the time, but I can logon later and complete my banking business. I figure all software like people are not perfect and need work at times. One feature I like the most is the money bar so I can at a glance see what my account holds and I can transfer money by sliding the bar. I also like the reserve account so I can set aside money to cover things that I know are going to come out so I don’t spend that money or I can use it to save for something coming up I will pull out in a shorter timeframe and don’t want to put into savings necessarily. Hope this helps you. 😊

Great app, with a suggestion

Overall, I love PNCVirtualWallet. I live on the West Coast now and I think the closest branch is in Chicago, but it hasn’t affected me too much. A suggestion to the developers: I’d like to see pending bill payments show up somewhere as soon as I hit the confirmation button. It wouldn’t matter to me if it was under Pay Bills or under Transactions or both. Just a little note that the payment is in the works. As it currently stands, if you pay a bill on the weekend or holiday, it sets you out for the next business day which makes sense. But if you say, pay your credit card and then forget you paid it, you might pay it two or three times just trying to be sure you’re up to date. Otherwise, great app. I love being able to do goal setting in PNCVirtualWallet , track my budget, set up savings rules (which have been EXTREMELY helpful in my savings), and I actually really like punching the pig.

Good but not great...yet.

I love PNC’s money management system and I love it so much that I’ve had an account with them for several years despite the fact that the closest branch is something like two states away. In any case, I think PNCVirtualWallet had gotten better with more features, but it’s also taken some steps back. Not all of the entries in my calendar show up on PNCVirtualWallet even though they’re on my calendar when I login via a browser. Also, I hate that when I tap on the calendar preview (the two weeks that are visible at the top of the screen) that it doesn’t take me to a view of the entire month. I used to be able to see the month as a whole and I can’t figure out how to do that now. Being able to see your finances for the upcoming month, laid out visually with the calendar, is a huge part of what makes PNC better than the rest. Please change this so clicking on the calendar preview takes you to a full month view, or perhaps offer the option to customize the layout.

Great, but with one big annoyance

All I want from PNCVirtualWallet is to be able to view my accounts, transactions, and to transfer money between my accounts. In that respect I have nothing negative to say, everything I want to do with PNCVirtualWallet is easy and fast and it looks great. My only issue is that there is an option to use FaceID as the login method, yet PNCVirtualWallet always requires you to enter your password anyway after FaceID is accepted. Every app that I’ve used that offers FaceID login will have FaceID be the only authentication needed to get into your account, yet this one app for whatever reason needs you to enter your password for verification every time. I don’t access my account from other phones/computers, and if I use PNCVirtualWallet twice in as little as a half hour, I need to enter my password both times. I understand the desire for security but, as petty as it sounds, it is super annoying that FaceID is offered but does absolutely nothing since you have to enter your password anyway. What gives?

Really good, could use a lil tweaking

Love the fact that I can keep my bank and live in a state with no branches. I never need to go to an actual walk in bank, I can do a lot with PNCVirtualWallet . Wish there were more reciprocal ATMs around the country, or any! Being out of Pa I have to pay a lot of ATM fees to access $. It seems crazy that it’s so incredibly hard to get access to actual cash. That needs to be resolved somehow, I pay a monthly fee to bank anyway. There is no reason to be financially penalized for using cash. The iPhone app is great! I would like to see more transactions on the 1st page instead of the last 5-15? Also I have zero interest in the adds attempting to entice me to spend money at another store or restaurant. It’s a bank app not an advertising platform. I would stop using PNCVirtualWallet if that continues or is built out any more. It’s clear these are paid ads-not appropriate and very unprofessional.

Best banking system I have ever used

Virtual Wallet is, simply put, the best online banking system I have ever used.
I started with online banking in its early days with a third party system called CheckFree that worked through my bank. Banks at that time did not offer what we have come to know as online banking. I evolved to standard online banking software through my bank when it became available but opted for Virtual Wallet when it was first offered.
It allows me to track all of my funds, plan on payments in the future knowing what funds will be available at that time. All of my accounts are linked so that if I ever scheduled payments that exceeded available funds in my basic checking account, funds are automatically transferred from one of my other accounts without my intervention.
You can place me in the category of being a very satisfied customer.

App Logs me out completely and says I do not have virtual wallet

I’m going to complain right here and now because I don’t want to call and unleash my anger at a poor unfortunate soul of an associate and it is super difficult to send an email to PNC Virtual Wallet for some odd reason. Since I first signed up at PNC in September, it has been nothing but trouble. I was completely card-less for a week and they locked me out of the virtual wallet app (vw) completely which meant I needed to go in store to access my account. I took out money but it was completely inconvenient since I don’t like carrying cash. One of the tellers signed me up for vw student when I got to the first PNC so why would it log me out and request proof of identity in person? Needless to say, PNCVirtualWallet has a huge bug problem that hasn’t been addressed since they switched over from a different layout in early November. I know I need to login every time I open PNCVirtualWallet which is fine (for security purposes) but why say I don’t have a vw account when I do? I have to constantly uninstall/reinstall in order for me to login. PNC YOU NEED TO FIX THIS.

Best,
An angry, dissatisfied customer

Useless Danger Day Feature

Update: Danger Day feature is fixed. Upgrading rating to 4 stars
——————-
PNC Virtual Wallet isn’t an overly terrible app, it functions in a manner that allows you to view account balance and other typical banking functions - but the Danger Day feature they implemented on Virtual Wallet is presently a junk feature that triggers at absolutely erroneous times.

Right now “Danger Day” is saying that we need to take urgent steps to remediate our account balance today, because we risk overdrawing our account. How much is it indicating is “going out” that would place us in such a detrimental position and way? $0.00. Absolutely nothing is going out today, and the “Danger Day” alert is throwing. Couple that with a useless customer service team who tells you to manually review the issue on a desktop computer (instead of troubleshooting on their end) and you get a 2 star review for lack of effort.
