We Investigate the app owner's website (Kijiji.ca), verify their legitimacy, and uncover hidden scams and complaints.
I would give this app a 4 Star review, but they promote illegal posts, especially in the rental housing section. Their filters are awful there as well - because they allow posts that lie about their category. So if you are looking for an apartment - thousands of users post under apartments… for sublets and room rentals. And you can’t filter any of that out. And you always see posts saying “women only” “students only” “men only” - which is 100% illegal: You can’t discriminate on sex, job, lifestyle for renting. I’ll continue to report this app and other similar apps to business, housing, and government watchdogs. There is also no easy way to report users, and it shouldn’t be my job to do so. Unless this app wants to pay me. Generically this app is OK as a buying and selling site. I do like it better than other apps, but they are all doing the same thing and promoting or ignoring illegal activity. If this app responds to this with a message that is anything other than “we will put a stop to this” then you can ignore whatever they say as unhelpful or misinformation.
Thank you guys for messing up something that used to work really good , FIRE YOU U.I designer , cant even select text properly so that i could text the advertiser and not call , 95% of people dont prefer calls , used to take screenshots with ohone number popup and advertisment text , now i can either screenshot number or the add seperately … it ….idk man F.U
Trying to scroll past ads triggers as a click which opens them. That is, tapping the screen seems to register the same as pressing down and holding the screen to scroll when the section of screen you touch is an ad. It does not seem to occur elsewhere. You cannot touch an ad in any manner without it opening them. This is not common with any other app I’ve used. This is a predatory design that misleads those paying for advertisement and wastes their money. It is also a hassle for the users. There is no very good excuse for this—it is simply a result of negligent programming that wasn’t tested thoroughly.
I recently contacted their support desk to try to report a scam I had, and was told that the report has to be initiated by the seller confirming the buyer. So basically if a seller deliberately cheats on the buyer and deletes the ad without identifying it’s a sell, then the seller will never get reviewed and there’s no other way for the victims to speak out, which confirmed by their agent. This company designs policy only to protect the scams but not the buyers. Will definitely delete Kijiji and use other platform or bbs.
First off, after Kijiji updated from Kijiji Store it will not accept my password. I use the same login information on my laptop and it works. By the 3-4x trying the same information credentials it finally works. Secondly Kijiji is very glitchy. Looking up items, Kijiji says none available for common items. I can’t trust Kijiji anymore. App logs me out randomly which is annoying when I’m in a chat with someone.
App overhaul is pure garbage! Buggy, slow, just pure crap. Clearly the people working on Kijiji don't use it at all. I won't even bother listing the issues, but I'll give one example; the description text is barely selectable and they chocked the system overlays so you can't translate on the spot. Serving in a country with two official languages, you would think they expected this use case.
Cooperate greed ruins everything
Used to love Kijiji but loaded it on my iPhone XR and it’s extremely buggy. Photo shows as oriented correctly when I take it, then rotates 90 degrees upon posting. And posts look like they’re going through (even got an email confirmation) but then they disappear from my list. Was trying to list a bunch of items from my father-in-law’s estate and finally gave up. I’ll list on Facebook Marketplace instead.
I am in an area where this app is popular.
However Kijiji and/or the website are frequently down.
In addition the messaging feature is just about useless. I get notifications on my phone that I’ve a message but when I go to my message list there is nothing. Often I get the error: “our content isn’t loading at the moment”
I like Kijiji and it works as supposed to. I had to remove it from my devices because it shows too many ads and their are positioned in a way to make Kijiji hard to use. I get there are ads in free apps, but they do not need to get in the way.
I like Kijiji overall but it’s really buggy and slow, I have not been able to open the notifications area in a while. Sometimes it not responsive and some features don’t even work. The notifications does not show up on my notifications center and I don’t know. I tried uninstalling Kijiji and install back it again and I tried signing in and out. I restarted my phone, nothing seems to be fixing the issue. It’s really difficult to navigate to find the support center where I can just easily go and email the main people. There should be some at least some better way to contact.
This was a very good app. But recently, it was updated and the new app is not as user friendly as the previous one. It is now so slow and clunky. I will remove Kijiji from my phone. Not sure why waste time, money and energy trying to update something that is already good.
I like it but with the new version I find it more difficult to navigate and search, the old version is much better
I love almost everything about Kijiji, but what drives me nuts is that when I go to look at my saved searches and then exit from one, it doesn’t default back to the list of my saved searches. Instead, it takes me one step away which is just a waste of time and surprisingly frustrating. Otherwise, it’s effective and easy to use...but this really drives me nuts because it seems so illogical.
Maybe its just me but so far everything ive seen on Kijiji is alot higher than the other apps like it & they're selling some of the same products in the same secondhand shape. Guess this ones just meant for rich people.
I’m only able to see the first 4 or 5 ads. When I try to scroll it just reverts back to the too of the page! UGH
Thank you for Kijiji, use it all the time. Not a full 5 star as sometimes it seems to get stuck trying to post a item or access app. Wish there was a way to be able to post to other towns and cities at the same time, otherwise it is a great app.
The new app looks good for browsing, but it doesn’t work with saved passwords on iPhone, so logging in is nothing less than a chore involving moving between the this app app and iOS settings to retrieve the saved password. The old app would auto fill the login details, and this one doesn’t. As a seller and buyer, I’ve gone back to using the website because if you can’t easily log-in, you can’t easily reply promptly.
Very good place for finding second hands items
Or brand new
This new update is too slowly to respond, it doesn’t load faster so I’ll prefer the old version instead of this new version. Please do something about it
I love this app and Kijiji makes it so easy to place ads on my phone. It works perfectly and it's free. I've been turning useless items into gold with it.
