eWallet - Password Manager Reviews

I have been using iAccounts app for years but sadly it has been discontinued so I went looking for a replacement . I read glowing reports about eWallet but it just doesn’t live up to the hype .iAccounts blows eWallet away for simplicity and ease of use , the ability to change or add fields to data entries is so simple
I cannot find a way to import more than the pre supplied icons for cards . Nor is it simple to re-arrange the displayed data . You cannot move entries up or down in order as you can with certain other apps there appears to be no way to delete unwanted fields from the expanded views
I’m sorry but there are better apps for passwords than this and seriously the developers should look at iAccounts and incorporate some of the simplicity of that app in this app.
The whole point of a password keeper is simplicity and intuitive ease of use . When trying to find out how to do a simple task requires research there is an inherent flaw with the design of eWallet
I strongly urge the developers of eWallet to look at iAccounts for simplicity of use

Overall I really like eWallet. However from time to time, various url links do NOT work when going to them thru eWallet. The url works fine when I follow it from directly within a safari tab, but when I follow it thru here, I get an error that I need to update my safari browser. I was on the latest iOS version for my iPad when this was happening. Today, applied the latest update and the issue it still happening. I don’t see any way to contact the this app support people thru eWallet either.
I wish they would fix this! I know it’s not an issue with the url location I am accessing because, again, I do NOT get this error when I type in the url address directly into a safari browser tab.

I love the product and would like to see the following enhancements to make it even better. Here are some things that I think will make this app even better:

1. Ability to have a setting to search by just Card name instead of everything in the card info or at the very least, put entries that have the search criterai in their title at the top of the search list.

2. Have preferrences and defaults for card types in the Desktop software carry over to the iPhone software (like Default card type and color of card). When I create cards on the iPhone they are a different color than those created in the desktop app. Also it is not easy to find the correct color to change it to when you try to make it consistent.

3. Ability to Change the type of card and have the common fields move over to the new card type.

4 Default colors for card types on the desktop should also be used on the iPhone, when cards are created there.

5. How do you pick the same color for one card that was used for another card?

6. How can you sort by the newest cards that were just added? Sometime I like to check that the cards that were recently entered are complete and consistent with the existing cards.

7. Support for Dark Mode would be nice.

I look forward to your next version of this app. It is an indispensable application for all of us, which is why we look forward to quick imporvements to these items. Thank you for listening.

I feel like it could be a bit more user friendly but overall I am grateful for eWallet. I have had it for many years. Have never had any issues or security breaches.

Suggestion: The ability to select multiple cards to be moved to a folder all at once. Or maybe an “edit” mode where cards and folders can be moved around/organized? I have so many cards, quite a few that have old info, but I don’t want to delete them just yet. I find myself needing to reorganize cards and folders often as I enter new info. Right now it’s a pain to do this. Especially since after a card is moved out of a folder (A) into a different one (B) you are now in folder B and have to find your way back to folder A to continue organizing it.

Hope this makes sense because I’m confusing myself :0P

Been using it since 2010! They keep working on it so that is great! Seriously guys/gals thank you SO much for continuing to improve this great app and not leaving us. Because of this and because of its great utility, ease of use, simplicity, etc etc, I recommend it to everyone. You've gotten at least a 100 additional downloads because of my high praises for this wonderful lil app! Keep up the great work!

Update: If you read all the negative reviews, they’re all user error (like the one guy who forgot his password and blamed eWallet , or the few that don’t know how to activate faceID or make a new wallet or sync or contact the developers, etc etc) ALL things that are VERY simple to do! They’re all right there!!!

Still worth it 100% after 10 years. NEVER any issues through 6 phones, 3 iPads, and 4 computers (apple AND windows). Flawless syncing. Great developer support. GREAT PRIVACY!! And never cash-grabbing by offering other “pro” features or changing to subscription model - I paid once, almost 10 yrs ago and they have honored that to this day.

I’ve used it since the beginning, when I had to manually sync from work computer to phone and then phone to home computer, through all the versions. Now it syncs all together automatically, if you get it set up correctly through the cloud. And, if you screw it up, because each version has a little different setup and the cloud didn’t exist in the dark ages when I started, their technical staff are very patient, and walk me through it.

I track credit cards, magazine subscriptions, website passwords, lock combinations, you name it, I can track it! I highly recommend it.

My previous password manager no longer updated with successive iOS versions, so I was forced to look for a new password manager. I was impressed by what current owners said about it, so I decided to give it a try. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now, and I’m just as impressed as all the other reviewers. There are so many features that make it stand out over my previous password manager: syncing with other devices, fingerprint unlocking, customizable, ease of use, longstanding history of great service, and the list goes on. Looking forward to using eWallet for a long time.

Have been an this app user for over 7 years. Transitioned from WM platform and was extreemly happy to see Illium making the same program for the iPhone. This program just plain works and does what it says. Easy to use once you understand how it communicates with your PC / MAC. You DON'T want the secure information on iTunes! At least I don't. Cards are easy to file, create and access. Customize them to your hearts content. Being organized is invaluable these days. This program will make you look like and function as a pro!

Have used for years. I really like the program. A few things needed for that extra star. Sync works well. Organization is nice and simple. When creating a new card you have to go to the field to rename it otherwise it is named “new card”. It should automatically take you there as that is the first field that gets input so you can find the card again.

Ok I upped the stars from 4 to 5. These folks responded to my recent review and pointed out how to use my browser of choice. It is really nice that they care about their product. Most useful app I have.

I would definitely recommend this program as it isn’t totally integrated into system software. I’ve tried those programs and the more integrated programs seem to be less secure to me, maybe that is wrong but that is feeling when I use them. Really cool thing is it is also cross platform iOS, Mac, Windows and I use this feature and it works flawlessly.

I've been using eWallet even before smartphones were available. Remember the pocket pc's and Windows Mobile. Back in 2004 I purchased this app Professional for my PC and Axim X30, since then this program has helped me to save and retrieved all kinds of passwords, ID's, 💳, memberships, financial accounts, insurances policies, 🚘 information, travel cards, passports and many more.
It is so good, that when I got my smartphone l looked for its app. I got the same functionality that of the PC version and they synchronize between them very easily. It is very close to having a helper telling you the password at your 👂. You only need to remember☝️ password.

I had forgotten all about this fantastic app. I believe my first experience with it was during my Palm Treo and Blackberry days. Yet, back in those days I didn’t have as many passwords or other digital items as I do now and because of this, I regrettably forgot about this wonderful app.

I’m so glad to have found it again, and to also find it a great, safe way to secure my digital information which has greatly expanded since those earlier days. Anyone would be hard pressed to find a better product than this especially without a subscription!

I rarely write reviews. This is on an impulse: I dislike subscriptions. It seems that every little software company tries these days to add itself to your monthly bills. One can not avoid them all, but a password manager should definitely not come as a monthly service subscription. I have been using this app since the good old blackberry days, on iPhone, Windows, Mac. It delivers to its promise, its trouble free, has decent customer service (rarely needed), no subscription and changes only for main upgrades. Decent, honest, straightforward deal. Keep up the good work.

Another year gone. It just keeps getting better. The syncing is a perfect feature. I went through 3 phones in one month. I was able to move eWallet from from to phone with no loss of info. I wrote the following last year. Still stands true.

"This is the first app you buy when you open up a fresh phone. I'm that guy that won't rate something until I've tinkered w everything in it. E-wallet is the only app to date that's getting all 5 stars from me. I've been using eWallet for about 4 years. Interface and navigation is simple and eWallet just gets better every year. Syncing just got better for Apple with both i-cloud and drop box sync."

I have used this app for several years now. It is truly one of my most important apps. I store all sorts of information within eWallet. Everything from my family’s personal info, to car registration and insurance info to loads of website links and passwords. The info is not stored in the “cloud” but on my device. I can still keep info updated between multiple devices that I have the this app app on by simply syncing them. I can’t tell you how many times I needed a password that I have not used for years and voile, it’s at my fingertips ready to copy and paste. I totally trust this app to keep my info secure and THERE IS NO SUBSCRIPTION FEES!

this app does everything I need a password database to do. It's probably my most used app. I use it multiple times a day on my phone, home PC, and work PC. They make regular incremental changes that improve the software while not requiring relearning.

Another thing is that I trust this software. I've never had a database get corrupted or lost information in any other way. And with all the cybersecurity horror stories in the news, I trust the makers to not steal my data or do anything else to compromise my security.

Lastly, compare “App Security” of this app to other password manager apps. I’m very pleased to see that this app doesn’t collect any of my data.

I have been using this app for over 15+ years and it has come along way. The one main benefit is that you have the capability to save not only website password information but information such as membership numbers. I have tried others but they seem to only allow data into their tool via a website login and if you save it captures everything on the website page that was typed in. this app you can put in the information that is necessary such as password history or pin information. This being secure and available on multiple platforms gives the user flexibility to use it

I have used this program for 10+ years.I have seen many other password apps. This is by far the simplest app I have used. I have looked and tried other apps, but I need some thing that is user-friendly and a program where I can access information quickly. I also love the security features. If someone tries to get into your app, and enters the wrong password, It will automatically lock for however long you choose. So if you lose your phone, someone may try to access your sensitive login information, but it will give you time to delete all the information on your iPhone remotely. I truly do love eWallet, and I do very few reviews!

Been using for yrs. Started using on an HP PDA. Have thousands of cards. I use everyday for so much. Always finding more and more uses for eWallet. Please do not sell to Microsoft. I wish you would bring back or upgrade List Pro, another fantastic app especially now that Wunderlist is no more. As usual, Microsoft buys, and it immediately goes downhill fast. That complaint on MS was free.

My only recommendation is continue to add card templates. Examples, firearms, jewelry, home inventory items like electronics, appliances, etc. I've ask three times in the past 10 yrs to be a beta tester or just to help make better with recommendations but no response, which is fine. I could help make eWallet move up the list with additional mods and additions.

I rarely (okay, make that never) give a 5 star rating to anything, because, let’s face it, nothing is perfect. However I will make an exception in this case. I’ve been using this app since the old days of the Palm Pilot… yes I’m that old… and after trying numerous other password managers for my iOS devices, I keep coming back to this app.

Not only does this app integrate seamlessly with all of my apps, websites and accounts that require passwords, but all data is held locally so I don’t have to worry about a data breach. It can generate passwords up to 100 digits in any combination of numbers, letters and/or special characters you want.

It’s so nice knowing I can keep, and pass, a different password for each item requiring one and I don’t have to remember any of them.

The active link to your target website and filling in your id and password automatically are brilliant. In addition to the cloud based synchronization of all of your devices is great way to keep all of devices updated with new passwords, which has multiple level complexity for this app generated Passwords from total gibberish, to almost pronounceable.

One of the easiest ways to navigate to and enter application is through the this app app. I keep it handy at all times.

This company has been around since the palm pilot days and the over the years I have used my original Purchase-Key to upgrade all of my devices spanning Apple and Microsoft machines with no extra costs for upgrades. No Subscriptions! How do they do it?

This performance is unmatched and the values keeps getting better. You don’t have to remember any passwords, as the complexity and variable length of the generated passwords makes that almost impossible, for a person, which is the whole purpose of having an unguessable password in the first place. Tap your link in this app, it fills in the data for you! Your’e done.

At some point in the last 25 years I lost my upgrade key. It was retrieved with a simple email to this app! So they have great customer service to go with their great product.

this app is, by far, the best password app I’ve used, and I’ve used a lot of them. It’s easy to use and doesn’t force you to store your password file online. You have the option of storing it locally (on your phone, computer or both) or, if you elect, you can store it in the cloud. eWallet is very versatile with a a variety of card types and the ability to use hypertext to link directly to websites. Also, it deserves to be said that every time I’ve reached out to Ilium for support, they’ve responded quickly and have been very helpful! I would highly recommend eWallet!
