I was at Dave’s Hot Chicken once while hanging out with a friend and I absolutely loved their food that I knew I had to come back again one day. So today, I tried to order my meal through DavesHotChicken, which when I do, it first gave me an error that the request timed out. I then went to try and order again on DavesHotChicken when this time, I get another error, which was when both attempts of trying to pay on DavesHotChicken appeared into my bank account as a pending charge. So I then tried to call the restaurant location that I was trying to pick up my order from when the employee on the phone says that they don’t even see both orders have went through to their systems! This was when as soon as I have arrived to the restaurant, I would have to show the employee proof that the Dave’s Hot Chicken app had tried to charge me for two orders that didn’t even go through to the restaurant. Since the employees were not able to receive my order, there was nothing they could do and I had to order my meal again and wait longer than planned since it was a walk-in. I could never imagine having a restaurant app that can’t even send orders to the restaurant, but will try to charge your card for the meal anyway. Dave, if you are reading this review, please fix your restaurant app. I love the food at Dave’s, but it would feel disappointing to not have a well-functional app to place orders ahead of time

As of right now the promotion for the “free slider if you download the new app” is just a scam.
There is absolutely no way to redeem this “offer”, there is nothing emailed to you after creating an account, and there is no pop-up in DavesHotChicken itself telling you that you have a promo to apply.
Scam promotion.
I will change the review if this “bug” is fixed, but right now don’t download DavesHotChicken .

I love Dave’s. Great halal food. DavesHotChicken, on the other hand, is terrible and barely functions. The account creation process doesn’t work for me. There’s a sign in option with Apple ID, but no sign up with Apple ID. It doesn’t allow auto fill for your phone number, password, creation, or your credit card details and throws up errors constantly. It would be cool to get the reward points, but I don’t think it’s ever going to happen. I’d order from their website instead, but that’s broken in strangely unique ways too.

I just placed my first order for a later time at 1:15 PM and I even double checked it was for that time and after I placed the order it said it was for 12:15 PM. I’ll accept possibly my fault but then I tried redeeming the free milkshake for downloading DavesHotChicken and when I went to drinks for my order there were no shakes there so at the checkout I pressed the rewards button and clicked on the free shake and was told the reward isn’t applicable to my order. I tried cancelling my order to change the time to the 1:15 PM I wanted and there is no way to adjust or cancel orders so I tried calling the store and explained to the worker on the phone and he said they will hold it for until later, this is extremely annoying and inconvenient. DavesHotChicken needs a lot of updating and work on to be good and this was so annoying I had to write a review and I’ve never given a review for an app before.

Went to the store for the first time and loved it. So I decided to download DavesHotChicken . However, I have not been able to open DavesHotChicken . Keep getting a "something went wrong" error message. I've deleted and downloaded DavesHotChicken a few different times now and still unable to get DavesHotChicken to work. Until then, it's a single star for me. Too bad.

Used app once since installing it worked fine . Now all I get is error message credentials not correct!! I have tried multiple times to change password . It reset my password and still get same message. Removed and re installed DavesHotChicken with no change to the problem!!!! Trying to find a way to contact customer other than to review restaurant is a pain. Hopefully they read this and the email I was finally able to get an address for.😡😡😡😡

I’ve been a loyal Dave’s hot chicken customer for years ever since they opened there first location in mass. I’ve finally accumulated enough points for a free Dave’s meal only to encounter an error when I try to order on DavesHotChicken and for the location near me to “not have a scanner for the coupon”. As far as I can tell there is no customer service option for DavesHotChicken only individual locations. Overall very disappointed.

Somebody hacked my account through DavesHotChicken and used it to buy $90 worth of food at another location not near me. There is no 2 step authentication or way to protect your cards on file though DavesHotChicken so your information could be compromised like mine was. Also there is no help or support section where I could ask for help when I discovered that somebody ordered using my information at a foreign location

What happened? Vegans everywhere are angry. The NotChicken is all I want or need. The NotChicken is wonderful.

Also - password saving in DavesHotChicken and website doesn’t save to “Dave’s” but to “pushinc” or something, which seems sketchy. Also makes it hard to find saved password in Apple App and Chrome site.

Is Dave’s Sauce vegan? Please make sure to add details to nutrition info on your app & site. Is the NotChicken fried in the same oil as actual chicken? I sure hope there’s a discrete fryer for vegan food. Is the potato bun vegan? Are the fries 100% vegan (discrete fryer)? If I add spice to my NotChicken, is that spice vegan?

Please add vegan cheese sauce to the menu!!!

Thanks for the good music is your Seattle store. It makes waiting for a pickup order a fun experience. Employees in Seattle store are excellent. Give them a raise, please.

The Dave’s Hot Chicken app was easy and pleasant to use just a few weeks ago. Then some terribly misguided executive or some utterly psychopathic developer decided to update it and turn it into the current monstrosity. I cannot think of the last time I’ve encountered an app redesign has been so horrifically unpleasant, that has impacted usability so negatively, that has so drastically reduced my desire to give my money to a particular company.

The menu layout now requires endless lateral scrolling. The sliders to select spiciness levels take up far too much of the screen and are simply unpleasant to look at. I won’t even bother complaining about my inability to see and repeat recent orders without a login as I’m sure it’s part of some data mining scheme but in general the new app is awful. Please DO LESS.

Ever since I made an Account I got logged out of it and I can’t log back in. I tried logging back in to only be told my email is incorrect or the maximum of logins has been reached even tho I tried once. It’s actually been 2 years since this happened and now I can’t get anything which is sad since my older brother and I go when we can

You will NOT get the free shake, it doesnt show up til 2 HOURS AFTER signing up, and their shake machines are just like McDonald’s, NEVER WORKING. (Or so they say) and then when you decide to delete your account off DavesHotChicken .. it will tell you error etc.. but want to order something? OH DavesHotChicken WORKS JUST FINE NO ERRORS!! Surely not a company doing shady things to take advantage!!

i’ll take my sweet time placing an order, ordering my daves number 2 double sliders. no slaw, no pickles. add cheese… ummmm, medium heat. then… i add extra stuff, it varies on the different days. today i’m getting cheese fries and a 10 piece order of daves chicken bites. dr pepper (also i gotta clarify its not all for me, i share with my lovely girlfriend of 3 years) now i go through this tedious process every. single. time. and of course, thats not exactly what i’m complaining about… my problem is the payment system. i put my dang ol payment information in and when i click “place order” it says “ERROR!! YOU ARE STINKY AND YOU DO NOT DESERVE DAVES CHICKEN RIGHT NOW! TRY AGAIN!!” and then i have to do it all over again. daves number 2 double sliders, medium spice, no slaw, no pickles, add cheese. daves 10 piece medium spice bites. and SOMETIMES cheese fries. add to my bag, dr pepper. then add payment, place order.. and HOPEFULLY. JUST HOPEFULLY. my daves order will actually go through. thank you daves hot chicken APP!

I had to resign in to DavesHotChicken , although it did not send me a “forgot password” email. It recognizes my phone number but wouldn’t let me sign in. Had to make a new account, which meant I lost all my points I had accumulated! Now using my husbands creds on my phone… ridiculous!

Vegetarian and huge fan of Dave’s NOT Chicken sliders. Had read in an article that Dave’s normally fries the Cauliflower in the same oil as the Chicken tenders, but that you can request that it be fried in the French Fry oil (vegetarian). Right now, there’s no way to make this request in DavesHotChicken , or online, which makes DavesHotChicken and website useless for me.

DavesHotChicken does what it needs to do. It’s a little difficult to tell which item you’ve selected on each screen. For accessibility purposes, I think it’d be helpful to make the border around the selected item be thicker/bolder and have a color with a higher contrast than the current dark-red/black.

The food here is delicious - best fast food chicken out there! But DavesHotChicken is pretty lame.

The barcode scanner just plain doesn’t work. One needs to enter the 13-digit barcode by hand.

There is also no way to order fountain drinks in DavesHotChicken .

I normally order from Dave’s, which is fantastic food, on the web. I downloaded DavesHotChicken because of the free shake offer, and, of course, like many others here there’s no way to redeem that. That’s frustration #1.
Frustration #2 is that when you select a heat level from the menu the red line around the box is so thin it’s difficult to see that you actually selected something (just make the red line bolder guys).
Frustration #3 and this is probably the worst was I made my order and submitted it via Apple Pay and it gave me an oops error and did not show the transaction completed. Fortunately the transaction did go through but I only knew it because I saw the charge in my email.
Navigation is clunky, but mimic the website.
If you like hot chicken, Dave’s is definitely a 5 Star fast food place, but DavesHotChicken needs a lot of work and screw that beaten click

I like DavesHotChicken for the points system but I’m not allowed to mobile order any food because apparently my phone number is in use already?

I have never used my number to order food and I’ve only made one account, so I’m not sure what’s going on here.

If the developer can assist, I’d be happy to change the rating to 5 stars!

App works greats but creating and account is a really hard process. You can’t create an account using Sign in with Apple. Meaning that you have to create an account by entering all your information and then linking it with Sign in with Apple. However that doesn’t work either on their app or website.

Looking forward to an update so that the sign in process is a lot smoother.

Overall app and ordering process was smooth. Easy applying of rewards.
Navigation could use some work, sometimes it loops back and forth to select an order location after already selected

Love Dave’s hot chicken and am so excited they opened one in Burbank. My only complaint is that DavesHotChicken doesn’t clearly highlight your selections when ordering. I almost didn’t think it was working. When you make your selections it highlights the item in the faintest, thinnest line.

First time using DavesHotChicken . Nothing special but I was expecting something to happen when I choose a spice level. Took me a minute to see that there’s a very slight highlight around the selection. Need to make that more prominent with a thicker line.

DavesHotChicken is great overall. I would suggest they make the red border for menu selections bolder. The thin red line is so small it’s easy to miss an accidental selection/omission in a long order.

I had my doubts, comparing it to my other favorite chicken sandwich spots. The chicken is so good on its own. I was surprised I love the kale coleslaw. The pickles are top notch as well!! 10/10

I ordered pick up and had my baby with me, so my hands were really full. One of the fabulous employees offered to open the door for me. Excellent Customer Service! I wish I would’ve gotten her name but I really appreciated her kindness and going above and beyond! The food is always hot and fresh and super delicious!

When choosing the spice level, the whole box should highlight red instead of just the borders, you can’t even tell when you’re trying to customize your order if you clicked is actually what you’re choosing

Cant stop going here, The sliders are sooo delecious and best part is they are Halal. How I wish there were more places like this. But I love this place and love the fact that you can order via an app so by the time you get there its ready for you to pick up😋and the rewards are just cherry on top.

Lonnie is the best manger that Dave’s hot chicken that ever had. He is on a roll. The food was fresh and very delicious. He made our visit an experience that we never forget I enjoyed the customer service and the respectfulness that he was. Lonnie is one in a million and hopefully that Dave’s hot chicken give him a raise and take care of the gentleman. Last but not least Lonnie is the manager that all Dave’s hot chicken needs.

The rewards system isn’t gimmicky. DavesHotChicken never has issues loading or placing my order. Everything is easily customizable. There isn’t an obnoxious amount of upselling after I add an item to my cart. The tip suggestions aren’t skewed or pressuring in any way. Love everything about DavesHotChicken - and food. Thank you!

(The cauliflower bites don’t have the option to ask for no bread and I’m gluten intolerant. That’s my one gripe, but I still love you xoxoxoox)

I am red green color blind and DavesHotChicken doesn’t show a distinction for people with color blindness when you select a box choice. Please fix this.

I frickin’ love this place, cooked fresh , so you have to wait, and my only complaint about this place, it’s a big one, when I first came here about a in June 2024 , they were serving large pieces of chicken in the sliders, and after eating here every week with the same order, they have reduced the size every time I order… That’s a huge deterrent, they need to fix immediately or the value drops dramatically.. :)

I’ve been waiting for Dave’s to open up in Greenville, SC. I’ve always made the drive to Charlotte just to eat this delicious chicken. I’ve never had a bad experience from here. Even when it was packed for its first week I went twice and it was on point both times. A must try for foodies
