Can’t sign up/create account

Got my first Shelly device and was excited to set it up. Downloaded ShellySmartControl and tried to sign up. Gives a useless error each time I attempt to submit. “Error Please try again!”
I’ve tried several times and nothing I do has helped. Not off to a good start.

Thanks. I can’t access my pump because you turned off the old app for this piece of garbage. I can’t log in. Your reset link sends me to the same login page and does nothing. But reading the reviews about logging in, looks like nothing works. Great job guys. Gotta get people’s data any way possible.

slow, buggy, poor support, unreliable control

On strong wifi very unreliable, app for iPhone and iPad show devices as " offline" after a logn dely or many restarts of ShellySmartControl , finally connects.

Affects all Shelly One, 1PM devices ( have 15) and same on all phones, and web-based IP adresses.

Support takes days to inform me I have not configured Wi-Fi properly, reset router, etc

SUPPORT FAILS TO COMPREHEND THEY WORK BUT INTERMITTENTLY AND ONLY AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS.

Very angry, waste of my time.

Pity as would use these in many installations.

Constantly unable to use my lights

On top of marginally worse connection, ever since upgrading to ShellySmartControl my lights are constantly inaccessible. This may in part be due to newer firmware, but the issues definitely started when I got ShellySmartControl. My switches starting becoming dis functional at the panel, and would be off my network for half a day at a time.

I am unable to sign in or sign up for ShellySmartControl . When I try to login to ShellySmartControl it says wrong password. I reset my password and the same thing happened again. So I try to sign up with the same email address and it says email address is already registered. I used the old app for years and never had this problem.

Nothing but trouble

Bought 5 Shelly devices for home use as a trial. Latest iPhone and iOS. Nothing but trouble from the start. All will be returned. There are better options.

Update broke the app

Please fix this. It now takes like 30 seconds to turn my Shelly on. And the widgets don’t work at all

I bought shelly because its products and app did NOT require cloud anything. Now you replaced your old app with a "Shelly Experience". Well this "experience" of having to make an account with some online service is not what I bought your devices for. Shelly, you now get to "experience" this customer leaving... -10 stars if I could.

Please bring back the larger Shelly icons

Don’t get me wrong. I love the Shelly platform and hate to give it anything other than 5 stars. I have one major problem though with the updated app. We have always been able to upload our own photos to use as the icon for each of our Shelly devices. If a Shelly controls a gate i used a picture of a gate and so on. The old app placed those pictures in large square (which most pictures are) icons which were large enough to tell what the picture was. The new app crops any picture you upload into a small circle which makes the icon unrecognizable. Please consider bringing the square icons back. Maybe you could just radius the corners a bit for a more modern look if that is what you are after.
Update 02/16/24: I have been using the new app for a couple months now and it is so much slower to load than the old version. I’m sure Shelly had reasons for forcing users to use the new version but it was a step backwards in usability.

Deprecating the old app without fixing the new app was a horrible decision and bringing me closer and closer to replacing all of my Shelly devices.

Loading ShellySmartControl takes forever!
I lost connection to my old devices, tried to reset it and reconnect it; but I am unable to do that it shows that my devices are offline.
The team should bring back the old app! It was working fine for me..

Buggy and laggy

This „new“ app is even worse than the bad old app. Please hire a proper user inteface designer!!
The new app loads very slow. It is so annoying to look at the loading bar every time I want to use it. The old app didn‘t need a loading screen!!
The new app doesn’t even load on the ipod touch with disabled location services. Those are not needed! Fix ShellySmartControl so it at least loads without location services enabled!

App seems to fail to reach servers

I’ve migrated to the new app, all worked well so I deleted the old one (mistake!)

Now ShellySmartControl shows that all my devices are offline. Tried to logout and ShellySmartControl hangs. Deleted is and reinstalled it, and now I can’t login (spinning thingy goes on forever). Web app works fine, it is ShellySmartControl that is failing to pull data from the servers.

Now without ShellySmartControl I can’t install the new devices I just received 😡

Shelly devices have been quite reliable for me, but ShellySmartControl is really disappointing.

..daily - to get ShellySmartControl from worse to the worst. Icons are just a top of the huge iceberg. And as bonus - Premium version ! 🥴 Overpriced cr.p. Going to other more convenient, less buggy solution - which is more professional, better!! Ps : shame on you developers - and don’t bother to reply with B.S.

Reset password

“ Password request was sent” But Never received email from Shelly. Received reset password after an hour. RESET Password DID NOT let me login to my account with the message “Wrong email or password”. Reset password again and again BUT Not working. Shelly is JunK.

Unable to create account

Just purchased a blu button and us plug. Unable to connect the button to the plug as ShellySmartControl will not let me sign up for a new account. I enter my email address and password, then select ‘Sign Up’, then ShellySmartControl doesn’t do anything. I will have to return the devices.

Asks for password WiFi and uses BT at the same time

It’s very confusing, in the product description it says it has Bluetooth but then when you download and install ShellySmartControl it forces you to give them your WiFi password. If you change your router there is no option to re register the new router, at least not that I can find one in the confusing interface. You have to signe out and reinstall then register everything again.

ShellySmartControl also doesn’t update in your other devices when a switch has been turned off or on. I.e. you turn a switch off in your tablet and it still show as switch on in your other devices.

Old app forces me to install the newest version and unfortunately all my attempts to login are futile. I keep facing errors even when trying to submit a support ticket. Can I get some help?

Some UI bugs: create account button does nothing if you tried to login but you didn’t have an account. Had to force quit. Button to send notification code has some lag updating the UI so I accidentally sent myself 4 verification codes.

Have been using and loving Shelly for three years now but the new app has given me a few headaches. I believe there’s a bug where bulbs don’t recall power ON or OFF state in scenes, despite that box appearing checked in ShellySmartControl . I confirmed this by editing my scenes in the old, unsupported web editor where I found the power ON box was unchecked.

Big Improvement over previous version

I’ve been doing home automation since 2000. If a switch, sensor, relay, hub, voice assistant or program exists, I’ve used it. I was always missing the most important things - privacy, full local control, free Cloud if I am away from home, low price, and intelligence on the device. Shelly has this and so much more. ShellySmartControl is super easy and intuitive. I can’t believe how much they let a user do. It’s almost too good to be true, but everything we deserve.

Excellent Solution To Smarten Up Dumb LED’s

I’m using the led dimmers to smarten up some lights our builder used and they work well. The problem is ShellySmartControl. Adding devices isn’t very intuitive and most annoying ShellySmartControl keeps prompting me every screen change to verify my email. The problem is the email comes with a number but there is no place to actually enter it in ShellySmartControl or a link to click on the email. When I attempt to login on the website my credentials don’t work and resetting the password never sends an email. Guys, these are application 101 things, you need to sort your priorities! Update: developer has fixed the email verification issue. Other issue with adding devices has been sorted as it appears one of my 4 controllers was bad. Amazon sorted that and the Shelly 2’s are running smoothly with my Home Assistant install.
