Fresco - Smart, Guided Cooking Reviews

I love Fresco so much. It makes choosing a recipe hard (they all look so good, I'm drooling just thinking about it) but once you're able to choose it's so easy to make anything, they walk you through step by step and even the timer are built in. I've really enjoyed using Fresco to broaden my cooking!! I don't have any of the appliances.. yet, but I hope to add the drop scale to my kitchen collection soon!

I’ve been using my scale for years without an account. Suddenly the latest software update requires me to create an account and login! To use a scale! Absolutely ridiculous.

Worse, no matter what email address I input when trying to create an account it says “user already exists!” No fallback mode to use your own hardware. Ugh! No login with Google or some other identity provider. Ugh ugh!

I’m so infuriated that I’m tempted to hack this myself and create my own app for weighing things. Probably not worth the effort when I could just buy a new scale with a digital readout. But tempting. Because of the fury.

We bought the Drop scale for bread making, where weight of ingredients can be crucial. We thought phone/tablet integration would be a nice feature since our old digital scale readout went wonky.

BUT Fresco IS BLOATED AND IRRELEVANT.

We don't need your recipes (far better recipe apps exist). We don't want to create an account just to measure out ingredients. We just want to use the expensive Drop scale that we purchased!!! Please bring back a scale-only app so we can do that. Or publish an API so someone else can do it.

I am constantly searching for new recipes and hate the frustration of scrolling through pages of text just to get to instructions. Drop makes this all super easy, and the simple extras like a built in timer all make for a solid UX.

Awesome connected kitchen device. Great fun way to cook with the kids. Minimal mess and cleanup with one pot is so innovative and smart. Love the offerings being added for pressure cooker recipes seems like it was made for this!! Been a drop owner for 5+ years and would recommend to everyone!!

I bought a scale. To use as a scale. They discontinued Fresco I used to use the scale and force you to use a different app with unwanted features. To weigh something it takes a good twenty seconds to actually click through to get to the scale and actually have it connect. Now they are forcing you to create an account and give them your email. To use a scale. I need to create an account and give them my email to use my scale.

Love the whole idea of Drop. Being able to weight my food without the need to at the scales display. Application is also very useful, especially the step by step cooking with the use of Drop. Great product overall.

No more getting lost in the middle of a recipe! The step-by-step recipes guide you through from start to finish. The scale itself is brilliant, and Fresco is very easy to use. It's a perfect tool for baking because of the accuracy.

Drop is always great bc they have a selection of difficulty of recipes. Also they offer a variation that the whole family or just one person can enjoy. Virginia

Received my Drop as a Christmas gift and love everything about it-especially the ability to adjust number of servings!! The only improvement I could suggest would bethe ability to upload my own recipes.

I purchased this scale, which is very good 4-stars, when all that was needed was the provided app to do everything a scale does.

NOW that it is required to have a login and get spammed with email to weigh anything it makes it 1-star. This makes it a DON’T buy the scale. Buy a cheaper digital readout scale than this product.

The recipes are great, results are consistent, and it's fun to use. I'm a pretty experienced home cook and Drop had encouraged me to try new foods, recipes and methods. All with delicious results!

Fresco shows the red drop scale icon next to the ingredient, but clicking on it does nothing. The grey drop scale button is also missing from the bottom of the recipe. This only happens with some recipes, and it is frustrating. Also, why can’t I use the drop scale for all measurements, like I can with Perfect Bake? ...

The selections don’t include choices I can use. I only use a GE Cafe oven, so all the other devices are irrelevant. And I cannot omit them.
Plug in “halibut” and see what comes up .... soup and stew and mushed together stuff.
Be nice if there were recipes for my convection, air fry, and roast capabilities.

Most recent update moved back to a requires account to use scale, after a few months where this was not the case. Signed up, but not happy about it. This is a bloated model to use for software. Looking to weigh things? Get a regular kitchen scale.

I bought a Panasonic broiling mic. Looking for basic but complete recipes to learn to use to use the unit but the under 100 recipes are almost all cutsey frou frou dishes with odd ingredients and combinations. Very few basics and an almost useless app written by a weak chef.

Love the variety and the fact that it connects to my appliances!

Best beef stew I’ve ever eaten! Instead of thyme, or bay leaves, I used Italian seasoning. The tomato paste is an absolute must. Enjoy!

Great app but there is no scale as to my reason for downloading it

The Drop app works great but, recently it kicks me off every time I try to use my scale.

I get it, you have other functions and pretend that the GDPA has somehow forced your hand towards forced account creation. This is bogus. There are plenty of other ways to comply without forcing current users to give you MORE data. Nothing is as frustrating as trying to make Thanksgiving dinner and bot being able to use your scale until you go through the process of signing up for something you were once easily able to use.

I’m just going to buy a digital scale and drop Drop.

Exceptional application and a great value for the money. The developer is constantly making improvements and perfecting the application. They are great people to deal with and are very responsive!

It is a really cool scale. Who ever thought of this must have kids because mine love to bake now. It's so easy. The only reason I gave it four stars is, seems some of the recipes are disappearing. Not sure what is going on but it was a little inconvenient. I bought all the ingredients for a healthy bread and by the time I got home to make it, it had vanished. No matter, I still love my drop kitchen. I'm sure once they get the kinks out, it will be just fine.

So easy to use. I love the ingredient substitution suggestions as we have several food allergies in our house. The vegan GF coconut lime tart will be on my Thanksgiving table!!

Make it so you can use the scale without an account but require one for all the other features. This will satisfy all parties.
