Update: developer got back to me and said... “Scenes are built into the hardware of the string lights and are restricted to what is built.”

Seems the only customization is the two colors used in the 2-color scene. So, no future updates will be able to provide scene customization.

Wish we had known first. We will be taking these back to the store.

Early days , I hope. AtomiSmart works great, always a good sign, but has limited features.

There are many scenes that define color(s) and behavior (flashing, racing, dimming) but none of those can be customized or duplicated.

It has ONE scene you can customize. A single simple two-color scene that you can set the colors for. You can’t save it. Or duplicate it to have other color schemes defined.

They have a three color red/white/blue - can’t customize.
A holiday of red/green - can’t customize.
Why is this a problem? Marci Gras, Purple/Green/Gold - cant do it.
Etc.

Plus, you can’t create ANY new scenes.

So needs...

Ability to duplicate and customize any of the included scenes. This is needed really bad. Without, I would not recommend anyone buy their products.

App layout takes too many steps to get to the controls I want. Check out Gosund for a better example. Light turns on at unexpected, unplanned times on its own. Light stays on at a very dim level while the fan is running, so it’s almost like having a night light on over my head all night. Remote seems to require 2-3 button pushes for it to operate each function… maybe a software response issue? Lots of bugs, but good price for a descent set up. Hope they fix AtomiSmart and improve performance!

Worked great for about three weeks; long enough to purchase and use a second device for a week or two. Suddenly, neither works with AtomiSmart anymore/AtomiSmart is unresponsive. I can make selections in AtomiSmart , but nothing happens. I can adjust settings on the tower heaters, physically, and see it change in AtomiSmart . However, when I try to use AtomiSmart to turn on/off, or any other function, it no longer works! I’ve just deleted and reinstalled AtomiSmart ... not hopeful, based on what I’m seeing from others.

We just bought these from Costco. I’m not impressed!! My router combines both 2,ghz and 5 ghz bands, just to get the bridge to join my network, I had to decouple my bands, join the bridge, and then re-couple, what a PITA! Secondly, the screws that hold the light to the stakes, are garage! The screws easily strip themselves when tightening, this is a design flaw. Lastly, AtomiSmart , there is no intelligible way to control all the lights at once. I don’t want to set each light color one at a time, allow the user to group these and set one color for all lights. Also, give me a color index numerical value so I can just exactly the color I’m choosing so I can set all the lights to the same color and not guess. C’mon guys, I’ve spent alimony $600 for 12 lights, this product is in in infancy and hasn’t matured. I’m not a fan and not impressed. We will be returning these.

This is a great idea for your smart home! The bad is it’s limited depending on your AC unit. I have a AC unit that uses four buttons for different modes. That way you go straight to the mode you want. The bad on AtomiSmart is it uses one mode button. This way it just toggles through the different modes of your AC is set up that way. Even with that you don’t know what mode your in. You could be in fan only when you were thinking you were in cool mode. And come home to a warmer room. Also my fan speed uses up and down buttons. And the Auto fan button is completely a separate button itself. So this is very limited. The Sears Kenmore unit has 11 buttons on a non-LCD remote. It would be great if it had more customization for different units. If this is addressed. It could definitely pick up on the rating.

The smart heater is the worse to connect to AtomiSmart . I would have to literally remove and repair the smart heater in order to just change the temperature control. After that it just reads “offline” even while the heater is on standby or even completely on.
Defeats the whole purpose of “smart” when I have to manually turn on and off.
Worse part. There is no “DOWN” temperature button on the physical device so you can only select a hotter option. So I’m forced to get out of bed in the middle of the night to turn completely off when it gets too hot. My $40 fan turned off when it got too hot and turned on when it got too cold. This was a waste of my time and money.

Bought the outdoor smart plug as an easy way to control my Christmas lights last year. Worked great until the last couple of days when the lights wouldn’t go on or off at the scheduled time. I was still able to use AtomiSmart to manually turn on or off. This year, pulled out the cord and it doesn’t connect. Same wifi and password. Tried to set it up as a new device and it doesn’t sync at all. I can connect the phone to the Atomi wifi, but then the wifi indicator turns off and nothing happens. So now it’s just a dumb outdoor plug.

Found these lights at Costco and they worked great for a couple months. A storm came in and I believe got water in one of the lights. Now if they are on or plugged in, I can’t control the lights from where the damaged light is onward (the lights just alternate in color as when you are setting them up) the other half of the lights are fully controllable. Had this not happened so soon after I bought them, I would have rated higher but at the price point I paid, was not worth my money for such little use I got out of them.

Update: the developer contacted me after I posted my original review. They put me in touch with tech support, who showed me how to set up automation in AtomiSmart for my Atomi devices. It’s not as nice as having a Siri shortcut, but it’ll work for now. Changing to 3 stars for good support.

I know they don’t advertise or claim to work with either, but they do claim to be able to control all your devices. What they mean is, if all your devices are made by Atomi. Since AtomiSmart does not work with HomeKit or Siri, you are limited to the automation option they build in to AtomiSmart , which are fairly limited. If you have devices by any other manufacturer, then you have to manage separate sets of shortcuts for Atomi and everything else. I hope they decide to at least add Siri Shortcuts in the future.

Everything about AtomiSmart is great except the setup which is not very user friendly.
The hotspot connection need to be more user friendly. It is very difficult to add anything even though AtomiSmart is already working and controlling other devices. It would be welcoming if WiFi is automatically identified and consumers don’t have to go through the whole process of typing the WiFi I’d and password. Then, still have to move to a next step hoping the Atomi hotspot would show up. That’s where everything go ballistic. Hope you fix this overwhelming problem in your next update.

There are many many great things about this space heater. The ONLY thing that would make it five stars (and it’s not a big deal but is slightly annoying) is that I wish there was a setting to permanently turn off the LCD screen. There is a toggle to turn it off, but you have to turn it off every time you turn the heater on. Hopefully a firmware update will fix this in the future. Otherwise, awesome heater…and we tried about 5 of them before ending up with this one.

I bought a pair of outlets on clearance last year. One was for indoor and one was for outdoor. I will say that sometimes they go off line and it’s been a little challenging to get them back. But I am happy to say that I have been using them for a year and have not had to turn to my kids to help me figure them out!

I have tried many Wi-Fi switches but his was the first one that worked. Either they didn’t work with Apple devices or just couldn’t be configured with my device. In addition I have linked it to my google nest and can simple tell google to turn on or off my light. I will be adding more of these switches though out my house.

Using 3- Atomi Smart WiFi heaters. They work nicely with AtomiSmart and are great. While on vacation, I place one in my kitchen area and leave the bottom cabinet doors open. My kitchen is on an exterior wall, so the extra heat under sink is great on those nights with freezing temperatures. I have WiFi cameras and temperature sensors, so I can visually monitor my units.

Now, my only issue, and a small one is that the Atomis operate at 2.4 GHz. So, you’ll probably need to login to your router and turn off the 5 GHz band if you operate and broadcast the two bands, then after connecting to the 2.4 GHz turn the 5Ghz on again. Many new WiFi products for the smart home can connect via the two bands. The above is noted in the Smart heater manual.

I’ve tested the tip over function and a notification was immediately sent to my smart phone.

In summary, excellent product, easy and well thought out app, and good value. I own 3 and have not had an operation issue or any problem in two years.

Bought 2 strings of these lights and put them around our patio. Perfect length to cover the inside and outside lengths of our patio! A little trouble setting up AtomiSmart to sync the 2 strings at first, but just had to reset my router. The different scenes are so fun to watch!! Told my cousin about the lights and she was so interested in them from only seeing AtomiSmart , she went ahead and bought a set for her patio. The following weekend she had a pool party and made she she showed them off to everyone that was there. When we have a party we can’t wait till it gets dark enough to turn them on and impress all of our friends!!! Heavy duty construction and expensive looking. Very happy with our purchase!!!!!!

I found these fairly easy to setup as long as you read the instructions carefully and do not miss a word. I was able to set up my phone and another family member’s phone to both control the lights and there’s an endless series of options to customize however you want. Very slick.

I love these lights and all my neighbors compliment them!
However, I wish I could choose three different colors instead for just two (I know these lights can do it because of the Fourth of July setting)
Also, I wish when picking the “pick two” colors that I would be able to choose white as one of the colors.
Buy these lights you won’t regret it.

I love starting my coffee from the bedroom so its ready when I get downstairs! My son and husband are happy with it too because they don’t have to start my coffee when I send them a text from upstairs. Be careful if you need to move the coffee maker because it’s easy to tap the icon to change the strength. But it makes a little beep so you know something has been adjusted. It’s been great so far and I’ve had the product for about three months.

Love these lights. The only changes that i would make is to AtomiSmart . It would nice to be able to have the option of three light colors and to also have the space to save custom settings. Example. Halloween orange green purple and to be able to save that setting. It is obvious that it’s an option since the America one has red white and blue. Just is not available on AtomiSmart ! It would also be nice to be able to chose what colors are included in the other options for example fade. If i only want green and red faded combination.

Worked flawlessly until the most recent update. Now my tabletop heater won’t connect to my wifi network. Kept trying for a couple days and it finally reconnected. Not sure what the issue was, but as long it connects to wifi the heater is awesome! It pumps out plenty of heat for its smaller size, but the wireless control it key for me.

First off it took 6 times to get it to connect to WiFi even though router and phone and device were right next to each other. Secondly and worst is that I then spend 2 hours trying to get it to be able to turn my ac on and off like the whole point of the device is but it does not work, only will turn ac off. Added 10 different remote setups and presets having my ac remote at varying distances away from device and still nothing. Will be bringing back to store and getting money back.

If I could give this a zero I would. To set up you need to connect to your houses WiFi. Then you have to hook the device via WiFi. Then “connect” the device and get an error that says it is no longer hooked to WiFi. I went through all the troubleshooting techniques and after an hour of my life wasted I feel as though this company deserves to be wiped off the face of the earth. With the technological advances we have a device like this should just be an plug and play. This is the furthest from that.

I’ve tried contacting support, but have gotten no response. For some reason, only one of us can be logged in to our device at a time. If someone else tries to log in, it bounces the other out of AtomiSmart . We’ve deleted and reinstalled AtomiSmart ., etc. AtomiSmart works just fine for whoever is on in it, but it’s really frustrating having to text the other to have the coffee maker started for when you get home. Pretty much defeats the whole point of having a WiFi connected coffee maker in the first place.

So I bought this like a month ago and I love it! One problem though, when I try and use the schedule and try and set the days, but when I leave out it doesn’t save and continues to say only once. Overall everything else is alright, but just a problem with that.

Found 3 of these lights at TJMaxx/Marshall’s. Bought them so we can turn lights on and off when we are out of town. An additional perk, is being able to turn a light off downstairs from my bedroom upstairs. The one sucky part is that sometimes between the router and the bulb a connection is lost and the bulb becomes unresponsive. To that end our vestibule light and the light in our bedroom stopped working and it wasn’t until a power outage where when the power came back the lights went into AP mode and i was able to get the bulbs back online and working perfect. All in all i got the lights for basically 1/2 off and I’m happy with them. One thing to note, once you’ve got everything working, don’t touch the switches. Also, Alexa noticed the devices when they came online and were able to control the device using both Alexa and the Alexa App.

The bulb came first. Very simple to set up. The only hitch was resetting it, but with a little patience my wife had it working in 5 minutes. I then bought an open box socket adapter. It didn't work after 5 attempts. The last try, I realized they only work on the 2.4ghz side. My phone was on the 5ghz WiFi. Switched it and all is well.

Worked great until I updated to iOS 14 now the plugs won’t connect to WiFi, tried everything to reconnect! Atomi plugs don’t work anyone know of a plug that supports iOS 14.5? Looking for some! Local network access is on! Still doesn’t work! Got it working I guess time heals

I'm done with the "smart features". We have 3 strings. One seems to have dropped its connection to the Wi-fi controls. The other 2 turn off and on at will. When they are "on" the last 4 or 5 lights do whatever they want. My husband won't let me keep them plugged in since they are out of control. It there any way to remove the 'smart features' and simply be able to turn them off and on as simple white lights?

Lights worked at first then one went out (short in wiring). Atomi Smart was great in replacing the defective light but since receiving the new one I've had nothing but issues. I uninstalled everything and now can get the lights to work but no automation. I simply can't get the "smart" bridge to reinstall and can't get anyone to call me back. A bit frustrated here. I've delayed repaving my driveway until this either works or doesn't since the wires will go under the pavement but can't get help in troubleshooting.

Extremely intrusive operating system. Read the user agreement carefully, this company "MAY" share your personnel information with anyone, including foreign governments. The list of what they can do with your personal info is a long as your arm. If you already downloaded the app, delete it ASAP because even if you return the product you're still connected to thru the app. Just a heads up before it corrupts your WiFi systems.
