Horrible investment, Go with Ring Security Instead!
2022-05-22
by Coral L. Whisler
We purchased two this app Cams after hearing great recommendations for these security cameras. We had been wanting to add a sense of security after having our first child, we did plenty of research and got great feedback, so we invested into this app. Everything was great for awhile but then our cameras began to have trouble connecting to our server. After many headaches trying to get our cameras to connect and run again we had our internet provider send out a technician to see if our WiFi was the issue, the technician couldn’t find any issues with our router, we even got all new equipment in hopes to resolve the issue. However, the cameras still would not connect, so after weeks of dealing with this horrible headache we packed up our this app cameras, and invested into a ring security camera bundle and it has been the best decision we made. We’ve never had issues with our Ring cameras the way this app cameras caused issues, even with updates and all. Seriously, save yourself the sanity and headache of these low quality cameras and invest your time and money into better quality security system such as Ring. Everyone has different experiences and I’m glad others seem to be having better luck but unfortunately that wasn’t the case for us. this app has been a huge disappointment and waste of money in our experience.

Creating more junk, but haven’t fixed their old junk. Maybe focus on making things work properly before creating more stuff. App support just talks in a circle IF you actually get them to respond.
Been with since day one. Everything work when it feels like. Today it works. Tomorrow it won’t
100’s of false events Every day. No happy medium. Set sensitivity down a tiny bit and people walk right past with No alerts. Set it up a bit. Every shadow or leaf movement etc hammers you all day long. Maybe focus on the software instead of making dozens of new products I would never use. Back to your ROOTS!!! Data killer. I rarely watch a video outside of WiFi. Wyze uses more data than any other app I have. And I’m not even using it. Facebook was the data monster. I use it lots. Not anymore. Waze is over the top now. And again I’m not even using it. Slowly worked up to the greed. Got you hooked. Now it’s gonna cost you. After an eternity of selling me cameras that I don’t really need... Then also making products nobody asked for or wanted....... You Finally do what people have been asking for since day 1. Then I can’t even buy it. Thanks for dragging your feet. Thanks for more waiting. Best of all. Thanks for the huge price. I could have bought that home system with DVR’s and came out Waaaaaaay further ahead.

Your products are in my house. You should not be monitoring my webpages or selling my data. I like the product, but don’t need a company to monitor my internet usage/cookies, etc when I use Wyze . Why is there a need to collect data to “Personalize your online experience and the advertisements you see when you use our Devices or Services or third-party platforms based on your preferences, interests, and browsing and purchasing behavior;”??? How does allowing a 3rd party the ability to monitor web pages viewed and the time spent on each page make a better camera? I prefer a company that makes money on a great product and not by selling my information.
Furthermore, to set up a camera I’m FORCED to accept additional disclosures for a 2-week trial of a paid subscription. I can’t get by the camera setup screen unless I hit Continue, which means I HAVE to accept all ADDITIONAL terms for a service I DON’T want. I do not accept the terms. I do not want the trial, but the only option provided is to accept IF I am to use the camera.
I’e has these cameras and set them up when my WiFi changed. Now I’m stuck with being FORCED to accept additional terms, because they’re cheap cameras that have to be set up from scratch to change the WiFi. I’ll be looking for cameras and services that respect my privacy and choices better.
No way to report bugs or actually contact support

by Phoenix2000
Why they ask me for a ticket number I have no idea, because there is no way to open one! There’s no way to report bugs or get support, either through Wyze or on their website. All their support site does is show canned answers for common questions, there appears to be no way to report, or track issues, and they have loads of bugs, some serious! And a developer response that points me to your support website that is completely inadequate does not resolve the issues, “Solvvy” is useless and doesn’t resolve bugs. Your bug tracker should be public and searchable, not non-existent! Prior: I’m disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be a way to transfer recorded video from the camera’s local SD card to my phone or computer, or any way to mark video segments that were recorded on the local SD card to be saved. The only way I can get video off seems to be to have to remove the SD card and read it in a computer, and I have to do that before the video gets wiped out by the continuous recording, which is very inconvenient, sometimes even impossible, so the cameras are a lot less useful than they could be. These wifi devices should have a built in web interface so they can be used and controlled directly from a computer. Right now you can only use them using their proprietary app.
*edit* In response to the developer, I decided to go back to Home Depot and purchase another outdoor camera (after I took the original back) to see if it just happened to be an issue from that day. Get home and go to set it up - same exact issue. I connect to the this app network and get back into Wyze and it gets stuck on “please wait” for an indefinite amount of time. Just an absolute junk combination of software and hardware. Very disappointed. I guess that’s why these cameras are so much less expensive than the competitors. You get what you pay for. I’m not going to spend hours troubleshooting this when it literally should be plug and play. Uninstalling and returning again tomorrow. I gave this newer company a chance and will never try another one of their products again.
Have read pretty decent things regarding the this app cameras. Purchased one and was excited to try it out. I’m a tech savvy person. Wyze is hot garbage. I could not get the base station to setup. Tried quite a few troubleshooting steps - which btw are very limited through this app. No fix. Reset everything and tried again. No fix. Deleted app and tried again. No fix. Tried setting up from a different device. No fix. Pretty obvious why Wyze is related terribly. Will be returning the outdoor cam and base station tomorrow and will just spend the extra money on a Eufy camera.
Horrible App Issues!!

by TerriBeachBerry
UPDATE: I unplugged my cameras and uninstalled Wyze from my phone and had no ‘crashing’ issues on my phone at all. After a few months, I was hoping that there was some kind of an update that had eliminated this terrible situation. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I set everything up and it works/looks perfectly, but with each notification it reboots my phone! HORRIBLE!
I gave 3 stars overall (rather than 1), because I think that, that this is a truly excellent product for the cost. I currently have 2 cameras that work great. I read reviews prior to buying and decided to invest in SD cards, which was a great bit of advise. The problem that I have is Wyze . Previously it was completely shutting off the WiFi on my phone every time I received a notification. I would literally be in the middle of a phone call - receive a notification - and it drops my call! Repeatedly over and over and over for months. Now, with this newest update, almost every notification reboots my phone - basically like my phone is just crashing. Some times it will just completely shut it down and not reboot. I will not complain about personal preferences and things that I think that this product should/shouldn’t have - for the money, I think it’s great. BUT these app glitches are completely unacceptable!! I am missing phone calls because it has shut my phone off!!
It only gets worse

by Kat_types2k
With each update, there is a new problem that arises. After this update, Wyze has been a mess. When I open the events tab to check out the alerts, it says that I’ve viewed some that I haven’t and vice versa. And when I do check an alert, it does not mark it as viewed like it normally would. It’s always glitching from viewed to not viewed. Also, when I click on an alert from a few hours ago and try to check the playback, it will not run the playback from a few hours ago. Instead it will run the playback only 5 minutes back from the current time. Then I have to scroll through to get back to three hours ago and find the time the alert was sent out. This was never the case, playback would actually play back the time (to the seconds) of the alert. I also have nasty feedback when I watch the cameras live and there is no sound besides the static feedback. The events also record the feedback so it’s hard to hear what’s really being detected as “sound” when the static is constantly in the way. I have the most up to date firmware and app, both don’t get better, they get worse after each update. When they need us to pay for a service, even a $1, they won’t hesitate to email and notify us. I’ve had a ticket number with the issue open for a month now and no response.
Good for still images and not much else

by Fager132
There’s no point to having a camera that pans if it doesn’t follow the object it’s detecting. You get an “event” notice that something or someone is moving around a room and it’ll show you that person or animal briefly, but then the camera starts jerking spastically left or right like it’s blindly seeking the subject. I get video after video where the camera just goes the other way and stops following the subject completely while they (or it) wanders off. Even when the camera does stay on the subject it whips left and right so many times that the video’s unwatchable. One of my cameras, which are identical, does well in low light and the other doesn’t seem to have any IR function at all. I usually don’t have trouble connecting to each camera when I try to watch its images, but it’s not a very fast response time, either, before you can watch live video. About 5 seconds. You can remotely aim the cameras, kind of, but they’re susceptible to the same off-center jerking around when you do. Overall these are good for still images but essentially worthless for getting video clips because they don’t stay on subject and won’t stop “seeking” when they detect something. And by the way, there are not multiple people or animals in the room to confuse it. It’s got one subject to follow indoors, and it can’t even do that.
These cameras and app USED TO be great….

I purchased these security cameras around the summer of 2020 and they were phenomenal until just a couple of months ago they only started to record 12-second videos or pay the subscription which isn't the most expensive for one camera but adding up all of the several cameras that I own it adds up to a good amount of cash annually. That’s not my biggest issue tho, The problems begin when I started the free trial for the more “PREMIUM” subscription to see if it was worth it and start paying for all of my cameras, but turns out that I can't even see the recordings from all of my cameras that have free trial added to them… on top of everything the notifications have a big delay and by the time it lets me know someone entered my driveway they’re already knocking on my door. So it kind of takes away the SECURITY part of it because by the time Wyze lets me know, someone more than likely already entered my house…. Also when viewing the cameras live there is a delay. We even checked with our wifi provider to make sure that all of these delays and issues didn’t have anything to do with the wifi. Our wifi provider replied and said that our wifi is running smoothly with no problems at all. All these things and several other issues are taken into consideration it makes me want to switch to another security camera company. One major thing that I will mention is the affordability of the cameras which is definitely a pro.
I’ve cleared everything with internet provider that it isn’t my WiFi, let’s start there. Now, not saying that this app isn’t great because when I initially got it, it was. However lately it has been very slow in monitoring. For example there’s about a 10 second delay when watching live streaming. When going back to view playback, it’s always freezing or doesn’t complete the video and stays stuck on 3 seconds of the playback. The quality of the video is grainy and not clear at all. Also sound is all ways off as well and I assume because of the delay, hut when watching live or playback, the sound itself goes in and out even when I know there was sound there. Also when trying to access live stream, it takes more than me having to try three times before I can actually get anything to show up. After failing the three attempts , I have to at least exit out of Wyze twice in order to get back in and finally have a picture up reflecting the live feed. It wasn’t like this until updates started happening. Could we please get a camera that both shows clearly and is able to have clear sound. I purchased this product to make sure there was safety in my home and now, I don’t feel that my family & I are safe. This is a major issue and this app have to make some major improvements. I’m trying to convince my partner not to switch, but other options are looking better and better due to the continuous trouble we’re having with this app.

Agree that wyze is going downhill fast

Like so many other reviews I am reading here today, I have to agree that the past couple of updates seem to have broken features that I had set up without issue last summer and enjoyed for months without an issue. Now, there is always at least one out the three cameras that I own that cannot connect to the network. There is a terrible lag when trying to watch any event notification anymore and I routinely just stop bothering to watch it. I am not all that tech savvy to guess what the issues are, but I can say that it used to work and now it doesn’t. I frankly do not have the time to research all the issues I have to try to fix them or to contact the help desk and all that. I expect I’m like a lot of busy Middle Aged customers who just want something they can plug in and will work, and I’m not sure this app is the answer for that need anymore. I was looking into Expanding my this app product usage and, in particular, I wanted some of the smart bulbs for my house. But I think I better wait on them and see if the service improves. Also I have hated the inability to fast forward or rewind from day one. What kind of service is that? I mean imagine having to watch 8 or more hours if video to find out when your teenaged daughter snuck out the prior night. No one has that kind of time
Notifications need help

I use the this app cam as a baby monitor. It works great - has a really good picture quality night and day. Wyze frequently loses communication with the camera and I have to restart Wyze to get it back up. The sound goes out A LOT. When my baby is sleeping I like to keep Wyze up and running on my phone for constant monitoring. Sound loss is extremely frustrating at night when I’m relying on Wyze to be my ears while I sleep. I also think there should be an option to change the way it notifies you of sound/motion. Instead of just one quick sound that goes away after a second, it should be a constant noise, similar to the way a phone rings, until you turn off the notification. This way, it’d actually wake you up at night, and you won’t miss a notification during the day while you’re cleaning or busy with another child or whatever, while the baby is sleeping. I have missed so many notifications at night due to this, and I am a light sleeper. There have been several nights where I check the sound log and my baby had been crying for over five minutes before I woke up due to sound loss within Wyze and poor notification style. For these reasons I’m going to have to buy a true baby monitor for piece of mind and safety.
Problems With Recording People Through The Cameras
2023-07-05
by Maanolthe
Hello, good afternoon. We just wanted to report the following: This problem has been going on for quite some time, at least over a month. Whenever we go out, the cameras record us, but the moment we make it back inside home, the cameras don’t record us the same anymore. We do not show up, as if the cameras itself were to be malfunctioning, or maybe it’s Wyze . The day of yesterday, we went out twice, but when we came back, the cameras didn’t record us anymore. The cameras don’t sense our presence and it’s beginning to become a problem. They sometimes only record the light movement of leaves or the sound of a car passing by. Something that urges us are the recordings of people, but the cameras don’t do that. We apologize for rating Wyze 3 out of 5 stars. With all honesty, this is surely a 5/5 stars, but with this problem approaching us, we would give it 3 stars. This is honestly one of the best apps we have come across though! For your attention, thank you very much and we hope you guys can help us very soon. Within all the time we’ve had Wyze with its cameras, this feature of recording people has stopped from a month prior. Please help us reconnect these cameras or figure out what to do.
In theory, the this app app allows users to easily control a variety of programmable home devices (think light bulbs, cameras, locks, and more). In practice, the experience is mixed. Wyze allows “scheduled” events (such as lights turning on and off on schedules or with sunset-sunrise timing). But the user interface for managing those schedules is unintuitive and requires much more user attention than it should. Especially after power/internet failures (glitches which are common in the real world), Wyze and devices often fail to recover themselves, and require users to set up again. Control of cameras has gotten better, but the interface is likewise challenging. In addition to the unintuitive interface, Wyze ’s visual design is built on a very “modern,” but impractically thin text font in a tiny size (to allow squeezing lots of controls onto few screens). Moreover, the text is colored “light gray” against a white background. And Wyze uses only a single color (a milquetoast green) for buttons, icons, etc. The overall effect creates a difficult-to-navigate interface with lots of tiny text and controls. So, the concept is very good, but the execution still needs a significant overhaul with the user experience at its center.

There is just no better value on the market to compare with what these folks are doing and at prices within everyones reach. I saw a short news story about this app cameras and how they were Amazons top selling wifi camera and have wanted them since. Started with the Pan Cam. Love the pan, zoom, up and down options. The motor noise is slightly audible very much so through Wyze with volume up. The connection point for the power cord could be more secure and slightly water resistant maybe? Neither of these are even near deal breakers.
I’m supposed to review Wyze , myybadd. Find me on twitch. I added the this app home starter bundle I scored for $50 on sale at Home Depot. $100 worth for $50. The this app sense starter kit is in as well. So far Wyze is really good I know it will be in constant growth. These people at this app are on top of it. I do worry they’re putting out too many products too quickly at times. But if you guys keep the user friendliness there and quality rock on. 5 Stars for all of the cool products they have alone! I do want Wyze on my fire tv and smart TVs though.
Very grateful for this product

I love having the Wyler products; they work extremely well, the picture is clear, and it makes me feel secure in my home. When I first moved into my home, a couple months in and someone had broken in while my boyfriend and I were at work. It was a worrying situation, and even more so when him and I split up and he had to move out, leaving me here alone. I’m very petite so it would be difficult to fight off an intruder. I felt unsafe, and I couldn’t afford a lot of the security systems that were on the market, but then I came across these cameras. I started trying out they’re other products as well and I really like them a lot! I have two of their cameras, one is outside and the other in my living area, and then I use the doorbell as well.
The product itself I don’t have any issues with, but in Wyze , when watching any of the event clips, I wish there was a “next clip” and “previous clip” options so you don’t have to try and remember which one you were just watching cuz you have to scroll all the way back to wherever the video was. I’ve accidentally rewatched the same clip so many times cuz I forgot which one it was. That’s my only complaint so far and I’ve been using them for 5 months now.

I have been using this app products for awhile now. True, there are always pros and cons to every camera/scale/lock/etc. BUT, I believe this app is comprised of legitimately good people who are looking to always improve their products and software and options. One of my FAVORITE functions of the cameras is that you can set it to pick up SOUND, not only trigger recording by motion. Which is important to me for my dogs, which is the main reason I got the 360 pan cam to start with. aaand I mean: FREE CLOUD Y’ALL!!! NO ONE else does this. Or you can choose to pay for full motion capture for another super inexpensive fee. Their customer support has been phenomenal so far, but my this app band is malfunctioning so I will soon find out how they handle it! Lol but I TOTALLY recommend this app over competitors. I have a mix of this app, Ring, and Cove products at the moment, but plan to fully switch over to this app only as they release products that allow me to replace those by Ring and Cove. Only thing is I haven’t figured out how to use the SD card exactly. But I haven’t had time to hit up their customer service so they can walk me through it. 🤟🏼🤙🏼🔥🔥 ** edit: I scrolled through the “least favorable reviews” and I honestly haven’t experienced a single issue mentioned. I didn’t go through ALL of them but like the top 20 were foreign to me. So maybe it has to do w the kind of phone and or internet you have?? I have an iPhoneX and everything works perfectly for me.
Great lil camera, best I found

I love my this app cameras and app. I now have 3 cameras and two plugs. I ordered the doorbell camera but it never came. I think it’s back ordered. Anyway I too was frustrated with it at first but if you just call their wonderful support team, they will guide you and help you set it up or fix any problems u may have. It’s not fair leaving a bad review just because u don’t know how to set up your camera, plug, etc. Please call them and give them a chance to help you. I too had problems setting up my plugs and one of my cameras but then I called up and they helped me set them both up and they now work perfectly. I am gonna buy many more cameras, and even the lightbulbs and anything else they have. I’m gonna smarten up my home the best I can. I have cameras in my yard too which work great in pitch black conditions, and that’s how I found out what critters were coming by and even that a big rat was living under my shed. I quickly got rid of him before an infestation happened. But if not for the wonderful this app cameras, I’d never have known I had a rat 🐀 and possums and raccoons 🦝. I knew about the rabbits and chipmunks and squirrels. They all steal from my bird feeder. Ah, what can u do. I don’t care anymore. I guess they gotta eat too. But I now know to take in the bird feeder at nite and clean up any mess they made. If you don’t leave any food out, critters and rats will move on to find food elsewhere.
I can’t say enough good about this app, I simply can’t wait until a new product comes out to try it out and I always hope that the product is a product it will be something that I am going to be buying! And most of the time it is, I have their cameras, headphones, the watch, their scale, the new lightbulbs, light strips, just to name a few. Their products never disappoint! I would give a five star rating on every product I’ve tried and the price point is never disappointing. I also have there cordless vacuum and handheld vacuum and I love them both. Like I said I have other products as well but all of these are outstanding in my opinion and this review probably doesn’t do them justice but I think they were just a Great Brand all the way around through and through. That’s my recommendation, and I would give it as many stars is possible for the rating!!!! Thank you this app!! If this company ever goes public, I believe in them so much I would be anxious and proud investor because I believe they have so much potential and will look forward to being somebody that would back them financially and look forward to hopefully sharing some profits with them in the future.

Disconnects Daily no PC app

by Red Shed Girl
I bought three cameras to use at my office for a little extra security. They were easy to set up and the video quality is pretty good. Unfortunately all of them disconnect almost daily. Since they all do it at the same time, it may be a network issue, but I have verified that the internet is working (by logging in remotely to my office computer if I am not there). They must each be unplugged to reboot, and reconnect easily, but then they have to be readjusted because they moved, or I have to move furniture to unplug at the wall. A PAIN! When they disconnect at night or on the weekend, I am SOL. It took me over a week to get an email response from the help desk who wants me to download and separate app to use as a diagnostic tool (in all my free time). It’s a shame, because if the worked properly, I would be thrilled. I also wish there was a PC/Windows app as I use my phone to TALK on during the day, but would like to have one of the cameras up at the same time. PS. I did upgrade to the new firmware a couple of days ago and still lost them yesterday.
Gee, It Used to Work Better.

Just because they can, why do app developers have the insatiable need to constantly add complexity to their products? 1. Choose a camera 2. Adjust its viewing rotation 3. Adjust its sensitivity 4. Adjust its area of detection 5. Adjust the recording length 6. Want to see a recorded video? Pick one from the list.
How difficult is that? Unfortunately it appears Wyze has fallen into a black hole of multiple programmers with specific tasks having their work thrown together into a rat’s nest of knotted interfacing.
Want to choose a camera? That and number 6 are the only simple acts Wyze offers.
Everything else on my list requires a rabbit hole adventure through multiple levels of programming that involve non-intuitive screen taps (completed in the proper order, no less) and judgment calls about word and icon meaning. I feel I’ve fallen into a Microsoft 1980s time warp... I’m still trying to discover how to adjust number 5, if that’s even an option.
Everything on the list could easily be located on one screen. Every other feature the programmers want to add could be put on another.
Please, please, please clean up the interface to the point where those who didn’t write Wyze and are unfamiliar with all of its intricate pathways, have a shot at getting what they need the camera to do... which is a beautifully designed device, btw.
The camera gets 5 stars, Wyze gets less than zero. this app ends up with the average from me.
So close, but not yet worth the hassle

The picture is crystal clear, and the features that it’s SUPPOSED to come with sound amazing. Eventually, it could be a great product! However, there is a laundry list of flaws, and the forums will attest to that. For me personally, the flaws I encountered were: dropped streams CONSTANTLY (reliable WiFi, promise), screen timeout after 10 mins on google home or a few hours on iPhone (take note those wanting constant streaming like for baby monitor or constant security monitoring- there is no way to lengthen the time the screen is active, I confirmed this with their own tech support), camera would move randomly for no apparent reason, motion detection alerts never- not once- actually alerted anyone (2 people on account, one google pixel 3 and one iPhone XS MAX) even though I confirmed several times with several people that all push and notifications were active both within the wise app and on the phones themselves, and customer service seems either burnt out or just not all there. When I asked about the 10 minute screen timeout time on the google hub they said I could simply ask google to bring up the camera every 10 mins for hours on end..... um..... what? How is that even a logical response?
TL;DR this app has great potential. Too many kinks to work out for now.
this app makes a great camera and the value is way beyond their competitors. Wyze itself is decent but I wish there were a few more customization options.
For instance, I wish you could customize the notification sounds so a person alert is different than a contact sensor or a text message. I also wish the software didn’t have a cooling off period after a vehicle pulls into my yard. I only have notifications setup for people alerts and if a car pulls up and a motion is detected, I miss the person alert when the person gets out. I also wish you could easily mute notifications for a time. When I’m working in my garage and I know I’m going to be in and out, I don’t want it alerting me every time I come back to cut a piece of wood but I do want the camera recording in case someone decides to wander in a steal my tools. A “mute notifications for an hour” button would help me.
What they have works and it’s a great little system all together. Just wish they could add a few of these features.
Close but needs work

UPDATED REVIEW The setup is easy, the product looks and feels nice, and the video quality is great. The problem: it consistently doesn’t work. The video just doesn’t load and you have to unplug it in order to get it to work again. I’m rooting for this product, it’s early days and I’m sure the tram will figure it out, but until they do I have to leave this review at 3 stars. We’re using it as a baby monitor so if it doesn’t work any percent of the time it basically doesn’t work.
ORIGINAL REVIEW I’d be happy with this product if it had cost be $100. It’s comparable to top of the line camera products, it’s clear that the team has put a lot of thought into how people would use it. The setup was incredibly easy, the camera looks and feels sturdier than I expected due to the price point, and Wyze has been flawless for us thus far. Even the audio works well enough. We’ll be buying a few more of the cameras now that we’ve had a chance to test this, and are excited to see what other products the team comes out with in the future.
Almost perfect (Update)

Update - Wyze fails to stay logged in over Marriott (Autograph Collection) Hotel’s WiFi. I have to authenticate over LTE and switch to hotel wifi to view feed. If I continue using wifi only, it logs me out. Amazon’s cloud cam doesn’t have this issue. Deducing one additional star.
Everything from the setup, control, settings, operation is very polished. They clearly thought through each design and tested their stuff. The device and app is much better than ones produced by multi billion dollar companies.
I have a feature request however -
1. Shorter cool down period for cloud recording. I’d pay a few bucks a month for this feature. 2. Clarification on how sd card recording is surfaced when it’s configured to record motion only. For example. Does it show up in notification timeline if there’s recording during cool down period for cloud recording? Or is it only surfaced in playback view? 3. More intuitive controls for playback UI when it’s configured to record events only. 4. Ability to weight time spent at each way point. 5. People detection to reduce detection noise 6. Ability to mute the camera from talking. Not sure how often it talks like it did during setup. Does it talk when WiFi losss internet connection? Useful when I’m out of town and don’t want the camera asking for something over and over scaring our neighbors. 7. Ability to invert touch / swipe control to move camera.
Mostly a great set up

About Wyze , I set the notification alert to low sensitivity for both motion and sound. Yet I still got plenty of notifications even if there was very little motion or very little sound. Also, I wish that since play back is recorded continuously on an SD card in the camera, that time lapse shouldn’t be something that needs to be set up every time one is desired. It should be something that could be loaded in real time SINCE all the video has already been recorded onto the camera’s memory card. About the camera... $20 for a Wi-Fi enabled HD camera? Who wouldn’t get this! I didn’t have any issues setting it up or using it BUT I did start experiencing issues with connecting to it a month or so after starting to use it (it would say that it’s “getting video data” and stay there then restart the connection and do it repeatedly); I eventually got used to the issues and just tried to connect later each time.
Awesome but one major flaw

I found out about this through some research and took the chance and got 4 for my house. Keep in mind you’re paying roughly $25 for each one if you buy them in twos. That being said, you get A LOT for what you’re paying for. Good quality but small and lightweight, and easy to use and setup. My only issue is that the camera gets set off every time it detects any kind of motion. I get notifications pretty often and a lot of times it’s because a bug or a bird flew into the view of the camera. I know you can set how sensitive you want the camera to be but I wish it could distinguish an animal or a tree branch from a human body or face. If there was an update for that feature then I’d give it 5 stars. Still, with that setback these little cameras are amazing. I bought 4 of them and one of my old neighbors saw me setting them up and I told her about them. Now she bought 2. I showed my sister and she’s going to get a few as well. My girlfriend works at a shelter and they need cameras so I also recommended them to her because of the price and ease of use.
If you’re on the fence about this app, trust me when I say it’s worth it! It works well enough with Alexa, though not great. Still, it's fantastic with IFTTT! The quality and auto-night vision are also better than you’d expect.
I can only give Wyze 4 stars because, while it is good for watching a live stream, it’s missing a few features. You can change the quality from 720p to 360p but even the lowest setting the video is still very watchable if you don’t need to zoom in too much. There are several automations to play with; more than enough for any smart homes. The camera load time is adequate at 3-4 seconds, just a tad bit slower than my Nest (which is a lot more expensive).
All this being said, watching a playback of previously recorded video is so difficult to use. The way you have to FF and RW is not even close to being helpful in finding a certain event. It would be great if the developers added a “Skip 15 seconds” feature or whatever period of time. It would make life so much easier than trying to use only the little slider in the current app.
Good enough, but can definitely be better

I was in the market for a indoor camera because I get very paranoid when I don’t have an eye on my belongings. I didn’t want to spend a lot since I was going to be moving at least 3 times before actually settling in one location. In comes this app.
This is great for its price, actually better than I thought it would be and with the free storage! Super easy to set up, app is super easy to use.
The reason I give it a 4 stars is because of the audio delay it has. When I watch it live, it does have some audio delay (about 1-2 seconds). At first I thought it could have been my WiFi connection, but I have one in my living room (right by the router) and it still has the lag. But the biggest reason from the audio delay is when you play it back and need to record it and save it. The audio delay is about 1-2 minutes delay. Or actually not a delay but it’s 1-2 minutes ahead of the video play. This makes me have to record a minute or two extra (if I need to show it to someone and takes up more memory than I need to.
Please take a look and see if there is any update to the firmware that can fix this issue. I know there are many people experiencing this as well.
Overall, I still recommend this to many people because it’s great for its price. But I do have friends that would rather use other services even if they have to pay more to make sure it’s all smooth
Great cameras!

I am impressed with the video quality and ease of use for a device at this price point! Even the packaging was thoughtful, concise and well done! I bought a second one because of the first one’s performance plus the 25’ power cords - I have them 180-upside down facing out windows to monitor outdoor movement. Both have SD cards in them and setup was quick and easy.
I’ve been trying various settings and determined that the Notifications are the most useful - except they are too short to see what’s really going on. Since I’m using these as security cameras, when motion is detected is what I want to see and not try to hunt down in a recording from a timeline that’s not easy to read on an iPhone and replays at “real time” pace.
Longer “clips” captured with Notifications is needed. Ideally, setting my own time length of these clips would be preferable! Then I might not even need hours of recorded video of “nothing happening”.
Newly purchased and pretty happy so far

So I bought these cameras and I must admit the picture quality is great and I love the sound notifications which is different than a previous system I used. The set up was simple and took only a few moments. I love that the cameras can tilt which makes it easier to find the best view. The only flaw is within Wyze itself. I wish it had a feature like my previous brand did, which was when I leave my house the cameras auto arm based on my cell phone location and a radius that I got to determine. I work crazy hours that change daily so it's hard to do the scheduled time period for notifications. Or another option would be to have something on the home screen of Wyze where you could arm all the cameras at once (or individually if the owner wants). If one of those two options became available, I would be extremely happy! I am happy though so far and look forward to future app updates which hopefully provide more options like these.
Best Purchase Ever

I am a mom of 3 girls all under 5. I have bought 6 other monitors trying to find something that worked. I got an echo show and decided to try this product because of reviews and price. I couldn’t believe all this product could do and how everything worked with my phone. I can check in on all three, I get alerts for noise and motion and with one touch I can see them it saves recordings of events. I can watch all my kids in one place. It has amazing night vision and you can control everything. It has both smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. I don’t think you can buy a carbon monoxide detector this cheap. I can also see them when I am not at home and I can see them on my echo show and any other devices I want. This product does so much but the best part is there are NO OTHER FEES. I tell everyone about this product. Thank you to whoever made this product please don’t change a thing, please don’t add all the extra monthly charges. This is the best product I ever bought for my kids. If I could give 10 stars I would!!!!!
I purchased 3 cameras and mounted one facing my driveway, one on a covered back porch and one in a shed. The setup was straight forward and all 3 cameras connected immediately. Thus far I have had no connection issues. For the price point, the image quality is well worth it. I like being able to set the detection zone and to only get notifications when people are detected. I installed SD cards which record full videos during motion detection. The only issue I’ve had so far was when I tried to connect my shed camera to a WiFi extender to strengthen my signal, I was unable to. Even though my signal is not as strong as I’d like in my shed, I’ve never lost connectivity. (I’m still looking for a solution to the WiFi extender issue). Great product!! Keep up the good work! I’ve already recommended them to several of my friends.
