Should have kept the old Global.

GlobalCU has less and is more difficult to navigate through. Can no longer do transfers to banks not in the global family through app, can’t instantly transfer to pay a credit card that’s even from global and both accounts are set up. Nothing but error messages when trying to pay anything or transfer anything. Don’t worry it shows your money disappear instantly just not making a payment or going to a different account, just a nice anxiety filled error message saying it failed and try again before your money disappears. Would give zero stars if I could for the fact that the previous app was way better. If this is any indication of how global will be now that it’s combined with Alaska my money will definitely be going elsewhere soon.

It’s good, needs some work to be great

The new app is a refreshing take and a stepping stone, however this much needed update is proving to be more inconvenient the more I use it. Some recommendations for GlobalCU : any deductions from the account should be shown as a minus sign with red font color. Although, I know I took funds from my account, it could be confusing for others. The syncing process to show real time balances after deposits or transfers take forever. It’s quicker for me to log in and check balances, rather than wait for it to be finished syncing. Even after it’s done syncing it doesn’t represent your real time balance. Lastly, the transfer section shouldn’t require you to choose an option to have the ability to transfer to someone’s account or within your own account.

No Pending Transactions

As a young individual who thrives on mobile banking I was hopeful that GlobalCU would be a great as the previous AKUSA app. It’s cute and crips and looks user friendly. It is not truly user friend because we can’t see our pending transactions and when you go to transfer money to your credit card for payment you have to remember the amount due. The old app provided you with the amount when you went to transfer and I thrive off of my pending transactions are. I moved out of state long ago but kept my account with AKUSA because of the ease of features in GlobalCU . I will be switching to something that better meet my needs if this is not corrected timely.

Not user friendly at all

The new app is definitely more updated and has a sleeker look to it but does not accurately show what’s actually in your account. System errors quite a bit during syncing and when logging in online to my acct it shows completely different information than what GlobalCU is reflecting. The worst part is you can’t see any pending transactions. I even called customer service to find out the differences in my balance and what GlobalCU was reflecting they couldn’t even find. I went back to the old app and will continuing using that from here on out.

Blown away!

I cannot believe the incredible additional functionality of GlobalCU! They’ve thought of things I didn’t even know I wanted. I’m able to see my budget at a glance and it works flawlessly to merge my accounts to a single view. Knowing where my money has gone has helped me see I can even move some of my freed up funds into a CD where I can earn better interest. This is how my money can work for ME!

Missing pending transactions tab

GlobalCU is overall an improvement over the old version. The only thing missing that I used regularly is the “pending transactions” tab. This let me see in advance when planned transactions were going to go through as well as when my paycheck and other deposits would be available. As of now, still using the old alaskausa app (now the global business app) as it retains this feature.

Nice app

Started using GlobalCU a few weeks ago. I like that I can connect all my accounts and see them without having to log in and out multiple times. The one issue I’ve run across is GlobalCU not automatically syncing when transferring money between accounts. I’ve had to manually sync them and sometimes it doesn’t show up for a few hours. Overall though a nice user interface and seems more streamlined.

Love love love it

I absolutely love GlobalCU! It’s user friendly and eye catching!! Love that I can sync my all my Accounts and credit cards in one place. Makes it easy to stay on top of my budget and make payments with out having to switch funds around by check or cash.

Many perks and looking forward to taking advantage of how other features will benefit me! As time goes on.

Horrible name

After months of talk about changing the name to Global, the day has finally come. What’s in a name? A name shows to other what you value. When do many people have expressed their disappointment at this change it shows a deep disrespect and contempt for the members. They claim they will remain “Alaskan to the cor but we’ve all seen this movie before. For the sake of globalism and commercialism they are abandoning what makes them unique. I encourage all members seriously consider their future relationship with this brand which clearly demonstrates a lack of value and respect for their members.

No pending transactions?

3 stars until an important feature is added. I almost exclusively use the website with a browser instead of GlobalCU as GlobalCU is missing an important feature, that important feature is pending transactions, as far as I can tell if it is a feature in GlobalCU it’s buried so far I can’t find it. Please developers this needs to be added before I’ll use it consistently, I’m sure others feel the same.

Problems with “Credit” tags

The primary problem I have with the new app is how it treats credit transactions.
Instead of having the Memo Field tell it where the charge came from, it calls all of them Credit, as it it was one source, and then when I go to change the spending type, it asks if I want to change all other Credit transactions, which I obviously don’t want to do.

Visually, GlobalCU feels like a mess, with every transaction taking up WAY too much space. I’m on a Smartphone, not a desktop computer. It has that MODERN problem of being too helpful and annoying.

Yes, tell me when you think I might have a theft on my hands, fine. But any other notification type I should be able to easily opt out of in the settings of GlobalCU .

Overall loving the new app

Absolutely loving the new features in GlobalCU . Being able to connect everything is great! Im only rating this 2 stars because of the below bug. Otherwise its 4 stars.

However about 2-3 times a day I receive a push notification saying my checking account balance is 0.00 - havent been able to sort it out or recreate it consistently yet.

It obviously makes me panic every time but every time I log in to double check- none of my accounts are at 0.00.

Login feedback

I like GlobalCU , however one and one only reason made me give it one star - login. It wants to send me a text message EVERY single time I need to login. Also my wife can't even login to the new app at all. Get the "Call the call center" message. We do have 2 logins for two accounts and they work fine on old app or online. If these are supposedly security features - dev teams please look into them to allow two logins for same accounts and to allow face unlock WITHOUT having to receive a verification text message. Also I'm an employee.

Terrible App

The Alaska USA app was a million times better. GlobalCU is awful. I used to be able to see a running balance of my accounts so that I could see the effect of each transaction on the balance. But not GlobalCU. It just shows the transaction and the balances at the time you open GlobalCU . And I used to be able to look up current interest rates on GlobalCU , but that feature is gone. So now if I want the information I need, I can’t use GlobalCU . GlobalCU is worthless.

Loving the new App!!

Alaskausa has come a long way from the previous app with all the new features like budgeting tools and spending categories. This will help me keep track of my spending at a easy glance and can help me stay on track. I love how easy it is to link my external accounts and see the balances. Keep up the good work!

Great updated app with so many different features to make managing finances a breeze! Fun and interactive budgeting tool and the ability to link all your different bank accounts and other credit cards for a simple one stop financial glance! Overall, fantastic app with a great financial institution!

New Alaska App

I used the previous app for a short period and did not love it. It was antiquated and not user friendly like the other banking apps I have. This new app is a lot more user friendly and more up to date. I love the fact that it shows the logo of the companies we used the card at.

Enjoy the visibility into my finances

I am a 10+ year member of Alaska USA and more recently an employee. The biggest benefit of the new app to me is the ability to add all my accounts. I use the new app more because I can get a quick snapshot of the balances on my credit cards with other banks and my accounts with Alaska USA in one place. There do seem to be some glitches but overall I’m happy.

Awesome update!

Having been an Alaska USA member for 20+ years, this update brings mobile banking to a whole new level! From budgeting tools, the ability to rename and categorize transactions, link accounts from my other financial institutions… so many features it’s almost overwhelming! Great job Alaska USA, GlobalCU is on point.

To much junk

GlobalCU works. Personally I don’t like the look. In settings you can turn off most of the extra junk on the dashboard.
I wish you could put an option for the classic view. I don’t need the fancy icons on my transaction because that added more confusion as to what my purchase was as the label didn’t match what it actually was.
Just want a banking app don’t need all the budget stuff it’s just to much clutter to sort through.

Major Issues: Security of personal information and underhandedly tacked on services

I like everything GlobalCU can do. It is just as user friendly as the website and has fun things for all of us trying to stick to a budget or see how much we actually spent broken down by day, week, year, and month or by category. My qualms are: 1. What happened to two-factor verification like on the website. Where is our privacy and security? 2. No notification for a check you are waiting to deposit in your account being rejected and the five days starting over. 3. All of my credit accounts have mysteriously had a life insurance tagged on to them without my agreement or knowledge. 4. I can group everything into a category, but have struggled with selecting just that category for totals between specific dates. That could be operator error or lack of knowledge. Fix these issue and I will gladly update my rating and review

Very laggy for a new app

Payments transferred to the visa take like three days to post, which doesn’t make any sense since the card is with global federal credit union. The overall feel and operation of this new application is mediocre at best. It’s very laggy when you’re using it and it doesn’t even show pending payments correctly. It will deduct cash advance from your available balance on the checking but it won’t show it in the pending column? Why? it’s really disappointing that GlobalCU doesn’t work better because global is now a 10+ billion dollar credit union and I think people expect the absolute best from their mobile banking experience. The functionality is actually worse than the old app. When the old one was working, you could get a lot more things done on it than this one. This one is constantly plagued by that sync issue that pops up every time you use it. Balances also don’t update, right away with transfers, and deposits

Pretty good in most areas.

This does MOST of what I need it to do. I sure wish I could read my messages/notifications inside GlobalCU . I have to deliberately go into a browser and through the login process to do that.

Also would like a clear explanation on the difference between the two apps offered. I’ve had global reps say the one with the gold arrow is more full featured but it won’t let me log in. I was then told they’re working on it but it’s been over a year and apparently some people are using it. I noticed it’s labeled for “business” now. Can you folks clearly state what the differences are and who should use which?

Has bugs

I have multiple GFCU accounts and the linking feature has not synced correctly even after deleting multiple times, rebooting my phone and redownloading. Using the live chat feature is unhelpful when it ‘looses connection’ even when I’m not moving and I have a good internet connection. Otherwise it has a good UX and is easy to use.

Problems with app login, iPhone 14.

I had no problem with logging in manually or with Face ID until AFCU switched to Global app. The GCU app worked OK for a month then didn't work for 3 months. Miraculously it started working in October, but only for 3 weeks then stopped allowing me to log in by Face ID or manually, again. I can only get to my accounts through my browser / GCU website. I've contacted GCU support several times. Frustrating! I have uninstalled and re-installed several times, deleted all cookies and history, upgraded Apple IOS 2-3 times since the beginning of the trouble. I still get an Error: "Forbidden" "The request is understood, but it has been refused or access is not allowed." Hopefully someone in the IT section can help.

Great App, one major issue

Love the new Global CU app, and it looks great compared to previous AKUSA versions — however when scrolling thru transactions to review them, the interface is too sensitive & tries to open the transaction detail page for each individual transaction. If this happens once it’s not a big deal, but it’s multiple times every time I try to scroll thru transaction history. Distracting at best, and borderline unusable at worst. Overall I like GlobalCU & hope the devs can improve this annoying feature.

App needs work

Since moving from the Alaska USA app to this new Global FCU app I have been disappointed. The aesthetics are nice, but there are features with the old app I liked and used.

I want to be able to see what the account balance is after every transaction goes through.

When making a transfer to another account than my own I shouldn’t have to go back to the dashboard. The option for transferring to another account should be available on the dashboard and also when in the checking or savings pages.

Not to mention I constantly get the pop-ups at the bottom that there is no connection, or attempting connection, or slow connection. It has nothing to do with my phone’s connection. Happens regardless of wifi or cellular connection. GlobalCU moves so slow. I never had these problems with the previous one. There is also a slow delay once GlobalCU does open for all my balances to update.

Global Credit Union New App

I find GlobalCU to be tremendously informative and helpful on managing finances. I love the visual aid that present all the over budget and each category has a recommended goal to be within the budget. I often over-spend, so GlobalCU is simply amazing and easy to operate when uploading and opening the new app.

I have been an Alaska USA Credit Union member since 1990. I had reservations when Global acquired Alaska USA. I’m pleased with Global’s app. It is very easy to read & navigate. I can find the information I need quickly. I also appreciate the Global employees who staff the Edmonds WA Safeway location. They are always helpful & very efficient. Thank you.

Convenient and easy

GlobalCU is so convenient, and everything I need to manage my bank account is found very easily, and I’m able to navigate through all my banking options with ease. I absolutely love how easy it is and all the options offered!!

Banking on my phone

I have been with AlaskaUSA FCU and then Global CU for a lot of years. There aren’t many brick and mortar branches and I got used to using their website. But that involves a computer or tablet and a password etc etc etc. Love GlobalCU : it makes my uncomplicated banking so easy.

Can’t Log In and Account Nicknames Don’t Show

I can log in just fine on the computer and on the old business app, but on this one it says I need to call member services. Frustrating. Also, when I could log in (and when my husband does on his), none of our account nicknames show up on GlobalCU so we can’t tell which account is which.

I was apprehensive about the new Global app because I was so used to the other one, but I’m glad I did. Very fast face recognition login and I LOVE that it now shows the merchant you’re paying out to. Great App!

I love how I can open GlobalCU and have any activity in my checking at my fingertips. The updates posted to my phone when they happen is amazing.

Can view accounts but can’t pay bills

I'm disappointed with the banking app's limited functionality. While it allows me to view my accounts and loans, it falls short by not offering basic features like paying bills or transferring money. It's essentially just a glorified transaction history and balance checker, which is not practical for managing finances on the go. It's frustrating to have such a restricted app in today's digital banking landscape where convenience and efficiency are paramount.

I like Global it’s easy to use and I can check my account and transfer when I need to, and the customer service is very friendly and make you feel comfortable and they understand your needs and help with all my questions I have asked. I like there customers service they are friendly.
