Reminders broken

I’ve been a Sideline customer for 3+ years and I have to tell you that the update to this app is less than ideal. What was once an easy to use and relatively fluid user experience, the new system for booking appointments is cumbersome and inefficient, specifically in regards to the reminder system.
The ability for Sideline to communicate with my iCloud calendar and propagate customer appointments and phone numbers from the calendar and into Sideline made reminders straightforward and easy. Furthermore, the control and customization of the reminders made this feature vital for customer communication.
The new system which forces you to book appointments *only* through this app makes scheduling frustrating and laborious. There is no indication through this app’s calendar which times/slots are available until you attempt to book and then it only tells you if a spot is unavailable after attempting to confirm a booking. To solidify the frustration there is no indication within this app, unlike in Sideline, whether or not a text reminder has been sent to clients.
Please improve upon or reinstate the previous reminder functionality.

Will the REAL PHONE APP.. PLEASE STAND UP?!

I am so confused. When I first bought Index, it was transferred over from Sideline. Another words I was told that it was a merger between Sideline and your app ““ this app. However, upon having it for at least two to actually four years now you guys have circumvent changed the apparatus in there in which I am being charged way more than previously entertained or contracted. you guys up the pay on the contract or up the payment requirement on the contract without any notice on your behalf, or towards mine. Subsequently I had to let Index go which I’ve had for four years the same phone number because you guys decided to raise the price $10 from 1499 to 2499. Now, the fact remains that I did not sign up for 2499. In fact, I originally signed up for 999. I want to know why it is you guys want to charge 2499 and I have no access to my old line anymore will I get access to my old phone number if I continue my subscription I do not want to pay 2499 because that’s not what the agreement was. I will contact my lawyer if this issue is not Resolved within 24 hours and 99 seconds.

It’s ok WHEN it works - inconsistent at best

I was also a former user of Sideline. I was terribly disappointed when the update, not only changed to this app, but charged more for services I received at a reasonable rate through Sideline. I was given a credit for the inconvenience, but I doubt I will keep the service.

I never know if my customers get my texts because a lot of times they don’t. It is completely unprofessional and embarrassing as a business owner. Also the auto-reply is hit or miss. This is not a cell service issue. I can have 5G and still have customers I follow up with who never received my text or who contact me again because they think I never responded to their inquiries. Completely unreliable.

The scheduling aspect is rudimentary and only works if you have one person on the schedule because it only links to one calendar. I hope they improve by leaps and bounds because I will jump ship as soon as something better comes along.

Missing text messages from clients

I don’t know what’s going on lately but I have had multiple clients of mine saying they sent me text messages but I don’t have them. This is very frustrating as a small business owner who relies heavily on being able to send and receive text messages seamlessly. It really makes me wonder how many potential new clients have texted me but I haven’t received their messages.

I had none of these issues with Sideline so it’s extremely frustrating that it’s happening now. And it’s also very inconvenient to be forced to keep the sideline app to keep the pricing sideline had us at. Phone storage is precious and it’s way weird to be told to keep a old app to keep your price the same.

At this point I will probably keep using Index for a little bit but I am saving some money to just buy a business cell phone because I can’t afford to lose thousands of dollars due to clients not receiving my texts or me not receiving theirs.

Avoid at all costs

When they were Sideline this company was reliable. Since the transition, this has become the worst service on the market. They transferred my number and it immediately stopped working. I reached out to customer service and they told me that I wouldn’t be able to get in touch with me again until after the weekend. There were still two hours of service time on the clock when I reached out and they informed me to “just wait until Monday.” I run my business on the weekend and informed them of that, and they had no interest in helping me until a later date even while continuing to text me. They charged me for services that were never provided and continued to be unhelpful all throughout my contact process. They charge more than Sideline, have non-functional features, the worst customer service, and no discernible interest in improving. Avoid at all cost!

Five stars

I heard about Index from my hair stylist and decided to give it a try for my own business. I like that I can save the phone numbers in Index but not on my phone, so it doesn’t mix my customers in my personal address book. It also has this window pop up at the end of a call asking if I want to take notes which I find very handy. The Appointments feature is fantastic once it’s set up. I am paying a lot more for a similar tool right now. Definitely will not renew that! There are still a lot of features I haven’t had a chance to set up yet, but I’m liking it so far!

Caller ID doesn’t work

I’ve had Index for years… it used to be call sideline… Index was the best option at one time, then something happened and stopped displaying caller ID for incoming and outgoing calls… I’ve reached out to customer support numerous times and they tell me the same thing every time… delete Index and reinstall, maybe it’s you service provider etc. This is my tenth time deleting Index and reinstalling even though that never works… I hope they are seeing this comment and will help me solve this caller ID issue once and for all. If they fix the problem I’ll delete this review and rewrite another one.

Sideline was better

Like many other reviews, I’ve been a long time client of Sideline for my business to get a custom phone number and to be able to send mass texts. Back when it was Sideline, I haven’t had any issues.

However, since switching to this app, the biggest issue I have is with Broadcasts. I use Broadcasts to send mass texts to all my clients, and maybe 1 out of 20ish people will get the text, or sometimes not even 1 at all. If I try to add someone onto a Broadcast, numbers get removed. So I add them back on, and just removes them.

Then with incoming, some clients said they texted me, showed me on their phone, only to show them back that I never received it. It’s embarrassing.

For a business tool, those two issues are crippling enough. What kind of communication tool can call itself that when it can’t do the simple things I need?! And I’m paying a years worth subscription at a time for this. If I’m able to keep my business number, I’d switch out of Index and leave this app permanently.

Would like to know

I Would like to know how did I get transferred to Index I had sideline and it was working fine then I got switch to this company and Index has bugs. I was told to update the sideline app and it updated me to Index. Then I was told that sideline was being bought out by this company, but my husband still has sideline. This app will get stuck and I would have to shut Index down and restart it to get it unstuck. Once I finish a call it will stay stuck with the last contact called and I can’t make another call unless I restart Index . I miss sideline. 😞

Sideline was better

I had Sideline for 3 years before it switched to this app. Since then the quality has gone downhill. I often don’t get new text message alerts, calls drop after 1 ring, or sometimes the call never rings me at all and I see much later on that I missed call.

As of lately, I couldn’t pull down the complete text message to read it. It makes you click on the typing text message field and then it will move down. Ugh. It’s disappointing and disruptive to my business phone line.

I also don’t see very many updates from Index to the glitches several people have mentioned.

Good for Business

I have been using the this app app for several years. Overall, it has a lot of good features for business with the templates and auto responses. Very rare. I have had issues with being able to make phone calls or receive text via for Wi-Fi. Overall, it’s been a great side number to keep business and personal calls text separate.

Perfect for texting customers

Index let’s me respond to customer calls with texts. Saves the hassle of having to pick up the phone, especially when it’s spammers. My real customers get a text with my logo and we continue the conversation over text. All my customer communications are stored and I can put customers in categories so things are organized

Don’t Bother

I started using this service years ago when it was Sideline. Since being migrated to this app from Sideline I’ve had several issues - calls are silenced and now cannot make outgoing calls. I use this application for business, and these problems certainly have prevented clients from reaching me. Contacted support several times over the last several weeks, and nobody seems to be able to correct the problems. And support is only available via e-mail and chat. Consider another application. Just do not purchase this one. Once you need help, it will not be the best.

Great business number

This is a great app. I have two lines from them when I ported out and the other one I still have. Use it as a 24 hour on-call number for our business. Cheaper than buying a second cell phone and I like the fact that it shows you that it’s a call from Index .

I HATE THIS APP!!!!

I had Index since it was Sideline. It was good at the beginning, then they did the switch, no caller ID working, lagging all the time have to turn it off and on multiple times for it to work. I use Index for business and needed a reliable source of communication and so far nothing but just issues every day with Index . Not to mention the issue I have with my contact list that it’s all saved on Index . Contacted customer service several time seems like they can’t really get it fixed.

Appointment Reminders feature!!!

Fix the appointment reminders feature ASAP. My entire business runs through outlook and for some reason now I can only send appointment reminders to clients if I use google calendar…. This makes no sense, just a short time ago it didn’t matter what platform you used. Not only that but even to use the feature with google calendar it’s annoying since you can only book appointments through the this app app. Very disappointed with the changes and am considering other apps if this doesn’t get fixed soon.

Horrible comms. Horrible dev. Horrible app (mostly)

Only use them because they seems to be the least of the worst. That said, Index is junk. One example: customers that pay for Index don’t get some of the features that are in the free version. Like, the ability to have one sideline number on two phones. This would allow coworkers to share responsibility instead of defeating the purpose and having to share the phone. After 2+ years of battling they finally just created a new app and didn’t tell any of the paid customers…

Love the business features!

this app has some great features to help run my small business. I really like using Appointments as it makes it easy to enable my clients to schedule an appointment with me automatically. Also, I’m able to request a business review and a payment by sending a link. So easy!

It’s like having a personal assistant

I’m blown away. The auto response feature helps me a lot because it lets me reach customers that I would’ve lost because I missed their call when I was busy. It’s really nice to schedule appointments through texting once it’s all set up too.

Makes life easier

this app is great, especially the auto reply feature which sends a text to my missed calls. Now, instead of “missing” conversations they’re sinply moved to text and I can get back to the person in a couple minutes when I’m free.

Compared to other #1

I’ve tried several competitors and this has won. Sending out blast, text payment links, special text sound and keeping my personal number private was my 1st, goals. I’ve been around several years and it keeps getting g better. When I’ve had a problem, the response time is quick! Thanks for features I’ve not used yet too. Plus when you send group text, the response is directly to you, so others don’t see it! Another great feature and list goes on!!!!!😊

Needs CRM Integration

This is the only reliable non-VIOP based 2nd number I can find with an independent contact book, however it NEEDS integration with 3rd party services. As of now I have to change my contacts information in multiple places.

Team share does not work.

If you like when people steal your time. Enjoy. Tech-support is slow and horrible. Worst experience I’ve ever had with any software. And I work with tons of software. I installed Index last night. Tried to get team share to work. The invitees never received the invite text. tech-support deleted the person I invited from the system while trying to figure out what was going on. Now I can’t get them back in the system no matter what I do. Tech-support now claims after 24 hours too many people have been invited. And that’s why it’s not working. They want me to wait 24 hours and try again. Why the heck can’t they just reset it. They can see who I have invited. I’ve only invited three people total. Some of them multiple times because they never received their text. Invite. However, for the first 12 hours, I only invited two people. No one has ever received an invite text. There seems to be a workaround however tech-support can’t tell me how it works from the other end. Or whether any of my invites are still in the system.

Cumbersome to use

I’ve had Index one day and I’m already ready to move onto something else. My biggest problem is if you are connected as a team you get maybe 10 seconds to answer a call before it gets forwarded to voicemail automatically with their announcement system that you cannot turn off when connected as a team. By the time you answer the call, you barely have enough time to find the keypad to press one to connect the call., 98% of the time it goes right to voicemail. The announcement feature is incredibly useless when not connected to Wi-Fi and again you can’t turn it off.
There’s too many steps to make when answering a call within 10 seconds or less so I miss half of the calls during the day.

I use Apple calendar and trying to get the bookings figured out, but my phone uses my personal calendar and for the life of me couldn’t figure out how to get a booking for a client sending an alert. The booking section is now useless to me.

Overall, I’m ready to start seeking another provider. my biggest reason is the delayed connections on incoming calls and having to press one to connect a call.
