PLEASE ADD TO THE MOLESKINE STUDIO

Let me start off by saying I struggle with severe mental health issues as well as ADHD. I’ve struggled for years trying to organise my life and better myself. Recently I went on a binge of downloading just about every organisation app in the AppStore. I tried several but everything fell through. I started using the Moleskein studio and I love it. I don’t need flow, it’s not for me, but i was looking for apps more habit based and came across this. I downloaded both this and journey and oh man. This has made an INSANE difference to my life. I’m able to balance my work, school, personal life and create new habits and goals. Actions, Timepage, Journey and Balance have been a huge change to my life and Ive only just started using them.

The only reason I won’t give it 4 stars is the sync and compatibility. Please add balance and journey to the moleskein studio, it would make tracking payments easier. I wish that they would sync across all apps. When I look into actions, I wish there was a reminder about a habit or goal I have on balance. I wish they all connected, it would make everything so much easier.
Additionally I don’t use Mac, i will never use Mac. Please please please create some alternative form of Timepage or Actions available for PC. I work more on my computer and would love to have my main Callander (Timepage) sync to my computer too.

So far so good.

Daily items don’t repeat

I am hoping someone will respond to this, as no answer was available.
I had my my whole day set up and on daily repeat and most tasks don’t repeat as they should.
Also, my reminders app loaded at first but then the reminders are gone and not able to link even though they are set up right.
Any help would be great. I love MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner but it’s just not functioning properly

It just got better

I have loved MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner from the moment I found it. I love how it allows me to import my google calendar and then drag and drop activities and to-do lists into the open spaces between appointments. I love that I can clearly visualized how much time I have between tasks and how long I have left on my current task. MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner is the reason my adhd brain is surviving through college. I love it SO much. And now that they’ve updated the appearance to make it clearer which tasks are completed and added a widget, I am on cloud nine. It’s amazing I can sync to the iPad now. I’m still holding out hope we’ll sync to my Mac someday. So happy with this find!

Confused by Moleskine’s App Development Direction

First, Moleskine are killing the UI of their apps, no question. That said, I can’t quite figure out how they have three different calendar apps - Balance, Journey, and Timepage, each with a pretty hefty subscription fee, and they don’t work together. I would love to see more of a modular approach within one app with robust habit tracking, journalling, task manegement options, almost like a beautiful Notion build. I WANT to support their development team, but I’d need to have more confidence in the overall direction to fully buy in.

Another BANGER!!!

Wow Moleskin, you’ve done it again!
I am an avid user of Moleskin physical and digital products yet I thought this would either be gimmicky like MOST of the goal apps I’ve tried but this shocked me by how practical, clean, simple, and CHEAP (Price not Quality 😎) it is! As a recovering COVID-19 Longhauler with severe anxiety [Agonizing over; what am I missing?] and memory loss [Agonizing over; who am I failing?] so I say quite literally that this is life saver! ✌🏾

Would be great with Studio integration

MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner itself is a solid visual planner/habit tracker that combines things I like from other apps into a nice looking app. My main criticism is that it doesn't integrate with Moleskine's other apps. I don't know if that is planned yet, but I would resubscribe if this was added in a thoughtful way.

Bad app, bad company

UPDATE: MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner is so very sketchy. Somehow MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner starts running -- without user approval. Every time I invoke the Force Quit Applications menu, I see 'Balance' in the list. I force-quit MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner and, later, it's running again.

Yet another half-baked app by Moleskine. No keyboard control. Subscription-only pricing. Every row in the left panel looks the same -- so the user sees, at a glance, no indication of whether or not a date has events. Moleskine apps used to be great. Now it feels as if the company is slimy, spreading itself way too thin. Moleskine Balance is not a good buy, not a good app either. I recommend Perspectiva (iOS) instead.

Unable to edit

This would have been my magic for ADHD app however no matter what I’ve tried I can’t alter making the bed for a task 10 times. Everything else was set perfectly however my brains set to now be frustrated and give up which also wastes my trial period. Unfortunately apps like this don’t allow room for error as often us using them do so thanks to unique brains. It would have beaten out hundreds of other apps for me and nearly did until one single thing won’t allow me to edit.

I really want to love it

I really like the interface and find some of it even better than Productive, like syncing with my calendars, for example. However, there are some tasks that no matter how many times I add them to the flow and check “everyday” and no ending date, it still does not appear on my list. It was very buggy when I first started setting it up. I thought it was me! But nope. I have done it many times now. If this quirk is resolved, I may revisit my rating….

What gap does this fill?

Can’t seem to understand what gap does MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner try to fill in the moleskins studios suite. Been a devout user of Timepage, Actions, and Flow for over a year now, and this in comparison does not feel “moleskine”.

UI is a bit too childish IMO, but more than that I fail to understand what MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner will do for me that the studio doesn’t already to justify the subscription.

There’s also Moleskine Journey that I feel does the same things as this.

Let this Dev team Cook

This dev team is highly attentive responsive. Ultimately all issues seem minor because this team ships regularly.

Please

Can you please allow us to delete “your activities”
I decided to use one of the premade activities called eat breakfast and I added a sub task but now that is in my activities with no way to change it or remove the sub task.

Love but

All I want is some darker non gradient color options!! Please . Awesome besides that !

iPad App Needed

Quite functional and well-designed with solid features minus one glaring hole. In the entire Moleskine app lineup this is the single one without an iPad app, get ‘er done boys…please. You’ve set us up with an expectation and we would love it fulfilled. Thanks!

Considering it…

I would consider using MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner if it was available for Apple Watch. It reminds me of the Google Calendar Goals option of which they’re discontinuing soon.

Very pretty, but written by Yoda without his spell check…

Hopefully it will be corrected soon - but how hard is it to spell and grammar check and have the text reviewed?

Don’t charge for a beta release!!!!!

Kinda not digging the UI

I like the concept and I always love this studio’s products but the UI felt very childish to me in my opinion. It doesn’t really give me that Moleskine feel and look that I’m accustomed to. I hope they better the UI in the next update. It just felt like a disappointment to me no offense.

Availability

I wish it was available on google play. All of my stuff is through google other than my iPad for procreate. I would keep and use this if it was on google play.

By

Buggy

Tried it for 4 hours and suddenly it got confused on what day it was. Thought Monday was Sunday. Then started showing my calendar events on multiple days. Canceled my free trial and deleted MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner . Needs a lot of work.

It’s Okay

I really wanted to love MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner. The feature list is practically perfect. I’ve used “Fabulous” and really gotten into healthy routines and habits. I also use “Things” and the GTD system, and was looking forward to the time blocking and the analysis pie chart. The reflective features are useful, like rating energy etc.

But here’s my complaint: the user interface is not smooth enough. It takes way too many steps to do things. It gets in its own way, in the way of actually getting stuff done. With some remorse, I’ve decided to instead use “Structure” for time blocking. Even though it has fewer features, the features it does have are a bit smoother and easier, and when we are talking about habits and routines and planning, we want it all to be as easy and pleasant as humanly possible. Unfortunately, as of this writing, Balance is not quite there. But with a some good work on the UX, I sincerely hope they get it there, because it could be amazing.

Another subscription, hard pass 👎

Had high hopes for MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner … features looked great so I downloaded MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner .

Can’t see / use most of the features without opting into the 7-day trial + auto renewing subscription (and there is no option to purchase the product, SUBSCRIPTION ONLY)
…and I guess the 7-day trial is actually a 6 day trial as the subscription renews 24hours before the trial expires.

Additionally the company collects user data (some types which may be sold) and utilizes trackers…

Don’t collect /sell my data if you are charging me a subscription fee, and don’t offer a free trial that can only be accessed by agreeing to an auto-renewing subscription.

Just so tired of this behavior from companies 😒 Double-hard-pass

Getting there

Recent update fixes icloud reminder syncing issue. Now works as advertised.

Still missing some features to make it a viable replacement for similar apps like Structured. Such as: two-way syncing with icloud, progress indication (countdown or graphic progress during and between events), and color customization.

MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner also does not sync with the Moleskine ecosystem.

What I was looking for

Finally took my life under control! I am not over exaggerating. The balanced app has calendar events, health activities, habits, regular, scheduled and “inbox” tasks, sub tasks, goals, time and mood tracking all in one place. They managed to make all of this variety easy to manage with very cute and appealing interface. I LOVE that I can create an activity with the goal to do it certain number of minutes (hours) per week, start tracking it when I focus on it and then see how much is left. Also they have widgets. I can just turn on the phone and see my whole day in the widget without opening MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner . Now this is my only app that replaced 9 other apps, that were good on their own, but each has only one piece of the whole picture and without integration you don’t have sense of control of your time.

Unfortunately complicated and limited

The design is bulky and makes it hard for those with unusual schedules. Also, I don’t want to be asked how I feel about anything I have to do on my calendar. It’s weird and time consuming, which when you’re busy really defeats the purpose. I will be cancelling my trial.

Great app for organizing, but does not let me edit

I have just started using MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner. It’s great in many ways. I can feel myself relaxing into the idea that this is a real tool that can help. I made a mistake on one of my scheduled tasks. When I went to edit, MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner would not save. All the info was editable, the save button was lit and ready to go, but when I hit save, nothing happened. I tried this on each of my scheduled tasks. I could not move things around once set, which is necessary for true scheduling to occur and become routine. I had to reset MoleskineBalanceDayPlanner and lost all my information. I like it for its potential, but if editing my schedule doesn’t work, it’s useless to me.
