This is the stupidest rework you could’ve ever done.

This is the most terribly designed app rework you all could possibly do. The way the accounts show left-to-right is terrible compared to how they used to show top-to-bottom, the credit card payments no longer show the full amount of the bill and only show the minimum payment (could you make it any more obvious you want to trick people into debt by making them think the minimum payment is all they need?), loan accounts no longer show the payment and when it’s due on the main screen, and the password requirement prevents passwords over 20 characters (as a cyber security professional, that really annoys me as there’s no reason to cap password length unless you’re gonna cap it at 50 or above to keep it from becoming overly complex). That’s just to name a few issues I’ve had within the first 30 minutes of using TinkerFCU. I would really like to see this fixed. I’m all for updating how an app looks and updating to multi-factor authentication, but you also took a perfectly functioning system and updated it to function very poorly when all you had to do was take the same look and make it more modern without changing the layout and functionality of everything. I’d give this 0 stars if I could.

Bill Pay

The Bill pay that I used to use all the time on the previous app work fine until I couldn’t use it on my iPad but now it wants me to put everything in all over again and with the address & phone company of each credit card or other item. It takes an hour to get through on the phone and I’ve sent 3 conversations and can’t get a response. What is the problem? Where is my previous history to just pay my bill? This is such a crazy!

Seriously TFCU

This is at least your third attempt at an app that I know of. The first one I used I thought was fine, but no you had to fix something that was not broke! The second one had lots of issues, but you guys finally got it where it was functional and I got used to it. Now I download TinkerFCU because I have to, and I can’t even sign in! I just get the error message oops something went wrong with the server! I love this credit union I’ve been with them almost 27 years, but this is extremely frustrating!!!

Negative impact on customers

I finally found the mobile app and downloaded it to my iPhone. When I attempted to access it the first time I was denied saying too many attempts had been made to access app. It was my first attempt. I called and waited approximately 30 minutes only to get zero assistance to solve my problem. I was told to wait 24 hours before attempting again with no guarantee it will work. I need to pay bills and make transfers. I am completely disillusioned with this whole process. I understand the need for security; however, I am thinking TFCU is not using the best IT people to accomplish this mission. It should not be this difficult. Thanks for letting me vent . Old Dashboard Please

The new “dashboard” is useless. I need to know at a glance the balance of each account. I do not want to scroll side to side it is a waste of time.

There was nothing wrong with the old app. Now, it continuously denies my credentials and won’t let me register and use the new app.

Error loading every time

Every time I open it it says “oops something went wrong” and it won’t load my accounts

Worst update ever.

We’ve banked with TFCU for nearly 20 years keeping them as our primary bank even though we now live out of state. This update is by far the worst thing they’ve done. They’ve taken everything that was easy to do before and made it more difficult. The previous app and website were simple and effective. Sometimes the old saying makes sense people! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” We may finally move on to another bank…

Who signed off on this interface?

The last iteration of TinkerFCU —which I was forced to abandon—was easy to navigate. Intuitive even. It wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t a nightmare to use. This new app is just… it’s awful. It so bad.
Why do I have to navigate so much to see a good breakdown of my transactions. Why is there no differentiation between pending transactions that reflect my available balance and pending transaction that don’t?
I wish this new app. Didn’t exist. It would almost be better with no app at all.

Complaint

I’ve had such a difficult time trying to get enrolled with the new system. You should’ve made this much easier for all is us. I tried, yesterday, & had too many attempts so it locked me out for 24 hours. I put in my information correctly every time. Now, I’m having problems getting TinkerFCU downloaded. Seriously? Your software developers need to be fired.

Poorly designed

The old app worked just fine. There was zero reason to change it. The running balance feature no longer works so you see the debit entries but have no clue how much money you have remaining. I have several phone numbers attached to my account but it won’t let my cell number be one used to validate the account. I sent a message in TinkerFCU over two weeks ago with no response. I’ve called TFCU Twice and have Been put on hold only to hear that my wait time was over 45 minutes. Writing a bad review was the Only way to be heard. If the issues can’t be resolved I will have to leave TFCU after 17 years bc I rely too much on TinkerFCU working and having accurate information. I hope the powers that be are willing to do something about this soon. It’s ridiculous. Seriously. Just turn the old app back on. It was perfect. PLEASE.

Awful

This new app is the most awful app I’ve ever used. It absolutely should be an embarrassment to such a large Credit Union. It’s not an improvement, the old app was fine. It’s not user friendly. I have to go through many screens to transfer to my other account. I can’t see the balances all on one screen. It made me change my password. It wouldn’t let me use my phone number as the verification, I had to use my husbands. I’m not next to him 24/7 so if I have to reverify it will be an issue. I HATE that it does not show a running balance with the transaction page. I mean they took a basic but usable app and made it so complex it’s near impossible to use. It also will not let me enroll for my other account. Can’t get anyone to answer me. TFCU should be ashamed with their level of customer service lately. Now considering switching banks.

Password is Suddenly “Illegal”

Can’t even use TinkerFCU since my password (that works on old app and in a browser) has an “illegal special character”. This is obviously a major oversight on the part of someone. I do not want to change my password just so I can use TinkerFCU, however, TinkerFCU was how I deposited checks electronically. TFCU is generally great as a bank but this has created a problem that has now wasted my time and left me in a bind. Sunsetting the old app was premature, as this new one is obviously still in beta testing.

Also, “illegal” is a bit dramatic don't you think?

Would be great if it didn’t have so many issues

Unfortunately, the data associated with my accounts is not accessible in this “updated” app. I routinely make transfers to and from both of my TFCU accounts. TinkerFCU does not have the accounts linked as they were in the past. I spent a lot of time searching for the way to fix this error and then filling out the required information. Then I received the message that my accounts are now locked in TinkerFCU , and I’ll need to contact TFCU. So I tried accessing the info online, and this is no longer an option… all transactions must now be completed in TinkerFCU… which isn’t working properly. Tried contacting TFCU directly and received the message that they are experiencing “larger call volumes than usual”. Please reactivate the former app until this one works correctly.

Can not see my transaction on my credit card

Since I updated TinkerFCU . My can’t not see my credit card transactions. It doesn’t load and it’s very frustrating to use. If TinkerFCU was not ready to come out it shouldn’t have been lunched. The older version was just find where you could see your pending transactions among others!

Update on this post: I just got off the phone with a customer service personnel after waiting 45mins. It only solution to this is to log on to TinkerFCU and TinkerFCU logs you into the website then you can look at your CC transactions. Which is ridiculous. TinkerFCU is not ready and it’s frustrating!!!!

This is Not Even Funny!

Ok so sometimes a service will rewrite their apps and the new app is screwed up in some way that’s too weird to be believed it ever came out of beta. I can still access Tinker through the old app(for now), but plug in the same “credentials” into this new app and I’m told to check them! Old app ok, seconds later new app, nope! Dunno if anyone else is having this issue, and calling Tinker is giving me the busy signal. I’m 72 years old and in an assisted living facility. It’s pouring rain so I’m not going to even try to go to my branch. I’m worried they’ll be suspending the old app and I’ll be left guessing. Not even funny!

Issues with new app and mobile deposit

TFCU is constantly changing the mobile deposit app so the most recent change results in nobody being able to deposit employment checks using TinkerFCU . I’ve spent hours waiting on hold trying to activate the mobile deposit feature to no avail, because thousands of people are calling in with the same issue. This is absolutely ridiculous. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, and if it is broke fix it while not creating new problems that can only be fixed by waiting on hold for customer service assistance for hours!! The only use I have for TinkerFCU is checking my balance.

App change disaster

Lost half of my payees. Not only this but now you have to confirm with your password a second time to add a payee. Have tried to contact them by phone, by e-mail, and by chat and never once have I been answered. Very disappointed that they would have to change apps again after two years. That time they deleted auto payments I had. Incurred late fees, but of course you know they didn’t reimburse me. Seems like they are more interested in patting themselves on the back for community programs funded by the members than being a dependable financial institution

Big fail on new app

There are numerous things that need improvement. And being that you can’t comment on TinkerFCU from within TinkerFCU , I come to here.
Mobile deposit is one. To snap a pic of a check, fitting it in the box is hard enough. But you then have to tap the screen to shoot the pic. That may be fine if your hands are perfectly still. Why not use the buttons that are meant to take pictures? And the transactions used to show a running balance after each transaction. Makes it real easy to balance the checkbook (yes, we still balance the checkbook). Now only the transaction shows up and you have to navigate through a couple of different screens to finally see a running total.
Not thrilled with the ‘upgrade’.

Can’t see credit card transactions

All the other reviews complaining about the inability to see credit card transactions are absolutely accurate. I’ve experienced everything they mention. Additionally the complaint conversion part apparently doesn’t work. No response. What good does a modern looking app do if it doesn’t work. How can there be “no transactions to show” if the “balance was just updated 5 minutes ago”? TinkerFCU shouldn’t have been released if it hadn’t been completely debugged. Reactivate the old app until this one is fixed. If it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it.

No Forgot password option???

I was super excited for this, and I’m happy with the layout and functionality. But I have one problem so far.

You can log in on TinkerFCU using only bio or passcode, and there’s no option for “forgot password” I only see forgot passcode. However, you need your password to add a payee for bill pay. Want to change your password? Sorry, need the old password… you have literally 5 other methods of verification. WHY CANT I USE THEM.

It works but…

I’d give more stars if they had responsive customer service.
I was “locked out” because I tried to send a check to myself at a different bank. But I was able to decrease the payment and do it incrementally over 3 days. When I was first locked out, I sent them a message on TinkerFCU . Its been well over a week and no response. Also had a problem with account numbers, but apparently that’s common with credit unions.

Previous Home Branch had better features

While the technical glitches that was prevalent in the previous Home Branch seem to be taken care of, I’m disappointed that some of the previous features are no more.

Specifically, I liked getting the daily text alert with the current account balance. Made it so simple to keep track of my daily finances.

Also, on the Bill Pay, why remove the scheduled payment feature? I loved being able to plan out the timing of paying my bills all in one sitting. Now, the payment is immediate without an option to schedule it out.

Finally, the chat support on TinkerFCU is terrible. I’ve submitted three different questions at different times that were pretty straightforward. But, nobody ever replied.

Difficult to understand

I was finally able to get two of my checking accounts back online but I’m still unable to get my 3rd account online. Every time I put answers in it shows OOPS something went wrong. Then it pops up call now. I’ve called several times and no one ever answers. I’ve sent a message so now I’ll wait and see how much luck I have getting an answer to that. I’ve been a member of TFCU for a long time and this really disappoints me

You use to pay your bills on the due date as long as scheduled 2 days ahead either I’m not using TinkerFCU right or now you send them the day ahead of the due date to get them paid on time without a late fee from the creditors???

Especially like the toggle between user names. Much more friendly to navigate accounts of minor kids!

They finally fixed it!

Now I can finally refresh my balance and check it. It’s still really difficult to find TinkerFCU in TinkerFCU store.

Crazy fast, great experience!

Wow is TinkerFCU fast! Compared to my other financial apps, I get logged in within about 1 second versus 8! And it’s a beautiful experience within… easy to use, everything where I’d expect and how I’d expect it to flow. Amazing job!! THANK YOU!

A marked improvement

This new app is a marked improvement over the previous version, which was itself a gigantic leap forward from the prior version. I’m glad to see this. Tinker has not always had the best banking app, but now they are catching up.

Credit Card

Intensely dislike the new Credit Card portion. I don’t like the fact that the stupid software does not recognize my one and only credit card. I have to select credit cards, then pick my only credit card. Then I can’t see my transactions.

Since Covid started the majority of my money transactions are via credit card. Now I have to go thru extra steps to see my transactions. Then I have to set exact settings between Pending/Posted/View All…. to see what I want to see.

I do like the Date Range & Category option. Hoping it will make my Charitable giving for taxes easier to do, although I could do that before with the hard copy credit card summary provided.

Seriously!!!!! Have you even heard of security? Accessing my financial data with just a passcode. You encourage strong password on website, but don't secure a mobile device that could be picked by almost anyone. Boooooooooooooo. Lousy out of the gate.
