Has promise, but falls short

The old app had much to be wanted for. While the new one has a better aesthetic and decent new features like in app automation, I find the UI somehow worse, or at least no more intuitive. At least I got used to the old one and it’s quirks. The quick actions is also nice.
One major nuisance is every time I open WiZConnected with Bluetooth turned off (which is most of the time) it has some prompt telling me to turn it on to connect to accessories. They’re wifi enabled lights, no reason that should come up every time. Additionally, Siri shortcut capability no longer exists which I really liked using. I was hoping maybe for some new light modes too.
There wasn’t enough new and better with this update for me to like it more than WiZConnected I got used to using. Especially end of Shortcuts.

Better than the old one, but still very buggy

I randomly discovered this version of WiZConnected had no clue this was even out to replace the old one. Good thing cause I was able to actually pair lights this time, although the process kept crashing. Need to just wait for the lights to pop up on Bluetooth to pair and that worked.

Other thing that is really frustrating is that the widget is just a link that opens WiZConnected . Literally no point to it. Just takes up more space and once you’re in WiZConnected you still have to select the action.

Just started using this version but guessing I’ll find more bugs.

Happy to see development, needs improvement

This is a great concept, however the UI got less intuitive/ more convoluted since the last iteration. Also please for the love of God add a homekit integration. Also the scrolling physics are nauseatingly frustrating when they don’t work.

By

Nice improvement

Looks wise I’m liking it. First off I gotta say switching through the categories is terrible, the animations look so stuttery and laggy. Next thing would be a little bit easier to get to changing the color temperature. I do like the quick actions but just those things I hope get improved

Nice new app.

It’s definitely a more modern app than the old Wiz app. It’s more tuned to control an entire home rather than a few devices. Some things are harder or slower to do, but that will be fixed over time. Wiz are the only Wi-Fi bulbs worth owning.

By

Definitely an improvement over the old app!

Am able to pair my lights where as before they would not simply work with the old app! Good job Wiz!

By

Not a great app

This version is way more confusing than v1. A lot of clicking just to turn on a light. And I can’t turn on the circadian rhythm. I can adjust the times but no way to turn it on. I would recommend staying with v1 app for now. Also spacesense motion sensing isn’t even in WiZConnected

By

No SpaceSense yet

WiZConnected is an improvement, but here’s the response from support about SpaceSense: “Space sense part feature is not yet launched officially on App V2.” 🤷‍♂️

By

Never managed to connect. Same as previous app

Just another worthless app. Never managed to connect it to the Philips bulb. How much has the brand fallen from grace.
Previous app I managed to connect once or twice but that was it. Wasted money. Stay away from these bulbs and apps.

Nice app revision; bit buggy and needs a little adjustment

!DARK MODE! Really though, I think this will be largely subjective depending on your preferences (or even accessibility requirements) regarding OS and and app navigation. WiZConnected is designed with much more emphasis on ‘intuitive’ gesture-based menu navigation. I personally prefer this, but I don’t doubt others don’t and that’s just a matter of preference. •The new Quick Actions menu is a great addition and allows you to make adjustments or lighting selections very quickly from a button on the (app) home screen, located bottom-center. - Configuring the actions allows for set up of up to three folders, with six(?) individual, or multi-light/room settings. This has been a nice feature for me (once I’d discovered it) and I find myself using it often. *It’s worth noting: this feature corresponds to one of three widget types and is probably the most useful. I find navigation mostly intuitive, with maybe a few exceptions. I suspect others may find some changes frustrating and may have a harder time growing accustomed to it. •There seems to be some more customization options for a handful of actions, but some of this (and the new app design in general) feels like it needs a little more tuning. •Color picker is a nice improvement over the last and allows for input of HEX code. •Brightness adjustment has seen a notable change with a more modern slider design. Probably one of my favorite updates. This area also happens to be one my biggest complaints: The touch-slider is a bit, well.. touchy. - More importantly, it will jump directly to the position of your initial touch before you make your adjustment. I find myself frequently (and unintentionally) blasting my bedroom lights in the middle of the night when trying to make a downward brightness correction. - This might be remedied by functioning more similarly to the iOS brightness slider that only begins the adjustment , regardless of finger placement, once you begin moving your finger up or down (in WiZConnected ’s case, left or right). - Allowing for fine-tuning brightness by tapping the dim/bright icons on each end of the slider to make incremental adjustments would also be useful. - Lastly, please enable brightness values to display as you’re making the adjustment. It can be frustrating to swipe back and forth between menus just to see what brightness percentage you have set. • Widgets are certainly an improvement over v1, but have some formatting issues (i.e. cutting off text or icons as they don’t fit to the widget shape and size at times). - I’ve also noticed some issues in getting the widget to update/sync to changes made in-app. This may be on Apple’s end (like any bug). - Like others have mentioned, actions performed on the widget open WiZConnected regardless of function. The actions themselves seem to execute their function fine in my experience, but it would be nice to not have WiZConnected load each time I press one. - Like other app widgets, maybe limit running WiZConnected to a press of a specific button, logo, or border of the widget. There are other points I’m missing and surely some I’ve yet to discover, but this already ended up much longer than intended. I will update accordingly and try to trim down the bulk of the write-up when I’m more awake and have time. Thanks!

Not working.

I had no problems with the old app and now all of a sudden I can’t pair my lights in WiZConnected or the old one. Now I’m unable to use my lights with WiZConnected since they won’t pair.

By

Weird!

I have a number of WIZ lights and I think it was a mistake to purchase them because WiZConnected to support the lights is among the worst I’ve ever seen.

By

No sunset/sunrise schedule

Unlike every other smart light app, this one has no ability to create an automatic sunset/sunrise schedule.

By

No SpaceSense

SpaceSense nowhere to be found. UI is confusing and much more difficult to use than the prior app.

By

No Spacesense

No Spacesense option. Bought new bulbs for this feature.

By

No HomeKit

1 star until they figure out HomeKit as promised.

By

Not simple!

WiZConnected is trash

By

Needs Improvements

Bugs everywhere!

Buttons that don’t work. Schedules that go off at the wrong time. No apple home integration.

Fix it please.

Bulb won’t stay connected

I bought this Philips bulb few days ago and had nothing but issues having it stayed connected I have no clue what’s going on I have great wifi and everything…..someone tried to help but worked 1 day and then back to being unconnected. They need to fix WiZConnected. It needs to be more stable.

I’ll rate higher once this issue is fixed however I don’t expect it, they like staying at a low rating if they don’t care to fix it.

Tired of the owner lockout

After switching from the original WiZ app to V2, we have had nothing but issues. Most annoyingly is that I am the primary Owner. I then go through the steps to create a profile for my wife, share it with her and then everything is good for 2-4 days. Then when I go into WiZConnected to turn on or off lights, all my rooms I have setup(which the setup process is impossible at time) then grey out and it tells me that the owner has changed my accessibility or whatever. Go to my wife’s phone to access WiZConnected (who is set to owner as well) and then it does the same thing to her. Have to delete both setups on the phones, start the process all over and sometimes when trying to setup the bulbs, it will fail on finding the bulbs for 4-6 hours. I have to wait a day or 2 before WiZ v2 will FINALLY find the bulbs and let me add them back into my rooms. And yes, rooms. I have multiple rooms setup with WiZConnected and I have to go through the whole process each time this happens. And why are you guys limiting what settings I am able to set to the 4 quick buttons? I like having Night Light, Day Light and TV Time as easy access and I can only choose 2 of those for the easy access buttons. There is just so much wrong with WiZConnected. Please bring back the old app. This one is horrid. Oh and to boot, if you download the old app, that’s still able to be downloaded from WiZConnected Store, it just crashes out so you can’t use it.

Rough diamond

This system always had potential and idk what the roadblocks or bottle necks are… I think you could hand pick any of your users though and pay them for some UX feedback and testing and learn some really important things. The system is unpolished. I could tell you specific bugs I’ve seen but anyone writing these reviews is going to have their own frustrations so you’re better off seeing what you can do to seek our advice directly. We all believe in it! Super cool; excited for Matter integration, SpaceSense is a cool concept, I just wish WiZConnected could learn more about my habits and give me more flexibility without me having to program it extensively. If you want to know about my issues, take a look at your quick actions tab. I’m fine waiting for you to fix widgets and postpone Matter (although atp I’d rather use apple’s remote than wiz) and even wait on pushing an apple watch app. just please fix your infrastructure and talk to some users

By

New App is harder to use.

The Wiz system is great, when it works. The system is still worth buying. However the new app makes the system questionable. I think with a major overhaul(needed) this system would be a top recommendation again.

Issues with WiZConnected /system:

1. Connecting lights. The process is clunky and frustrating. I have issues connecting to my router because it doesn’t separate the signal bands like the older routers would to 2.4 GHz and 5GHz.

2. The new app is constantly glitching and difficult to use off of wifi. The old app would allow me to control my lights from outside of my house. Let’s say you pull into the driveway at 11pm and you want mood lights on to set a vibe or for basic safety. It’s hit or miss.

3. Deleting/creating a new home/room. Need I say more. The front end and back end is messy. Not sure how much QA was done from the development side with this.

4. Allow me to create a home with multiple wifi networks / connections. It’s common for homes to have multiple WiFi access points. Routers or range extenders. Maybe this wouldn’t be a problem for mesh networks.

I believe in this system. To circumvent many of these issues I’ve used the remotes but the preprogrammed lighting options are limited so for the most part I’m stuck with those 4.

I recommend every user of this system to pick up a remote. It’s worth it!

Way to ruin a perfectly app

Adding a new lightbulb went from being a seamless process that my grandmother could do to a pile of nonsensical process. The new app does not even identify what wifi the cell is connected to so I need to type the name of my router by hand along with the password.

I don’t know you guys but you had something that work well and was a easy as connecting AirPods to my iPhone to something that resembles trying to come out with a workaround inside a Linux distro from the 90’s. I’m a big time geek and seeing other fellow programmers ruining an app for the sake of giving a refresh just makes me really frustrating. Older people could not figure something like this out. I wouldn’t buy it for my parents and then have to deal with all the connectivity issues for them.

A good product works seamlessly and effortlessly. The process of adding a new lightbulb is neither of them in WiZConnected.

By

months in, I still am sticking to original app. it still works better lol

months in, I still am sticking to original app. it still works better lol

I was going to give the new one a try at some point if WiZConnected devs got their act together but I can see from the recent reviews they are still ignoring the elephant in the room and gaslighting their own customers pretending all is well. so, I can continue using the original version 1 app. why? because it STILL works better after a year observing the lack of improvement on this what appears to be train wreck new version. devs. take it personal. i mean it. you should. i cant tell you how many reviews ive read saying this simple request: DO BETTER! until you do, stop insulting our intelligence and at least admit this version needs drastic improvements before telling people to leave the original app which still works far better technically.

By

Horrible App

Constantly getting “Unable To Control” message when trying to adjust a light. Randomly lights show Off but are in fact On. If you lose internet connection or restart your router you have to manually add each bulb again to be able to control them. Sometimes when adding a new bulb, it is instantly detected but you get stuck on pairing the bulb to wifi until the bulb is no longer in pairing mode and have to start over. Every update to WiZConnected never fixes a single issue. Read your reviews! So many customers have problems yet nothing gets fixed. The first app had almost zero issues. Updating to V2 was the worst choice I’ve made. There’s definitely a lot of great results but unfortunately WiZConnected rarely works when you need it to.

By

So bad I had to reinstall the old app.

I’ve tried getting used to the new controls and set up, but my area often experiences power outages which basically resets my lights and loses connection. The set up is infuriating and inconsistent. And it hurts my eyes when the process takes over 5 minutes to set up, while the lights are blinking repeatedly.

So I decide to reinstall the old version, which fortunately still exists. Within a MINUTE, my lights are set up perfectly. No issues, no long wait times, just a simple click and done.

Don’t bother with this new app. It’s not worth the trouble and becomes a waste of time. I don’t know what it is these days about companies ruining perfectly fine features for the sake of “customer experience” when they just make it worse! If it isn’t broken, it doesn’t need fixing or improvement.

Poor migration experience - lost my saved settings

I tried the migration option but all my quick settings (the one touch stuff under Simple in v1) are missing in V2. My remote seems to be missing as well. The rooms and scheduled changes seem to be there but unclear if they will continue to work as I have not really tested WiZConnected . Once I saw settings were missing I decided to remain with v1 as I do not want to recreate my settings and have zero interest in contacting support for something that still works in v1. Please improve your migration experience to move EVERYTHING. I also use Hue extensively and this same company does a FAR better job moving versions in Hue. (Hue bulbs in general are far superior but I have a mix as Hue does not support some sizes found on Wiz bulbs.)

Worse the V1

After the release of V2 I can no longer use my virtual assistant (Google Home) to turn on my lights. I have other lights, (using Geeni) and they work fine 100% of the time. My Wiz V2 lights turn on about 1/10 times. The other times I’m met with the response “Sorry it looks like your light isn’t available right now” (3x). I’m able to open the Wiz V2 app and after about 30 seconds the light finally connects and will allow me to turn it on or off. But my virtual assistant can’t contact the all to do it at all so it has became worthless to me. I would recommend smart lights that all use the same “hub” app and finding bulbs that use Geeni or Phillips Hue rather than Wiz. I will not purchase another Wiz product.

By

Big downgrade in V2

I concur with the negative reviews of V2. I used V1 for years without issue, but migrating to new app is a major time waster for no effect. Don’t tell me I can’t add a light because I’m “not authorized as the home owner”!! Lights that have worked fine for years now are irretrievably “offline”. And please don’t ask me like you ask other upset reviewers to engage with your tech support to help you figure out your software issues and waste more of my/our time. You created a cool product in V1 and I think you’re probably capable to clean up V3 to make it usable. But please, maybe a bit more field testing before foisting it on the world? K-I-S-S!! See if your mom can program HER lights, then you’ll have something.

So many bugs and a challenging interface

I don’t know what prompted them to change the versions but they’ve made huge changes in the interface and with a millions of bugs in WiZConnected . My app keeps loading and I have to disconnect and repair my devices with WiZConnected . I am regretting buying these devices and now I am tied up with WiZConnected. The settings lag and the scenes take a while to load. You can use it with Apple home kit with matter integration but good luck doing that the devices don’t respond. I’ve connected to Alexa and this still doesn’t work well. Long way to go for the developers / testers. Atleast should’ve tested before launching this bug!

By

Upgrade is a Downgrade

The old app was quick and responsive. Maybe the layout was not fresh but it never failed to quickly open and show me what I needed to see to control my lights. The new upgraded app has a more modern look but is EXTREMELY laggy and sluggish. It opens but takes almost a minute to refresh and show what lights are in and what’s off. It’s so painfully slow that I have to sit staring at my phone for WiZConnected to refresh so I can turn a light off that I could have just walked over and turned it off by hand. Wiz makes the foray into “smart home” a foolish effort.

By

Terrible Change

The old app was far more intuitive and it was way quicker to access different lighting options. I find this version very cumbersome. This version also constantly tells me there are bulbs that are not connected but when I ask Alexa to turn off a light it does it. So clearly it was connected but WiZConnected isn’t seeing it. With 32 of these Philips WiZ bulbs I expect these to work flawlessly as they did before and WiZConnected is not doing it any favors. Rehash this whole thing and make it quicker to access all the different lighting options.

By

Affordable .+ easy to set up...

I personally loves the led strip as well as the light bulbs I recently purchased. They have been very pretty, great ambience, very easy to get up and running...... I'm attempting to build a " wonderland " of sorts if you will... for myself and my muse ,my best friend, my surprise lil son Brooklyn. He is just very very much an soul, much like his estranged older sister.z keel¥. . and loves eclectic stuff and eclectic stuff and those two things are price

By

It takes work to make an all so useless

I normally don’t write reviews. But as a software developer who is constantly interactive with app. I just had to write this one. Half of the stuff in WiZConnected does not work. For example. I get a message on my home page saying new device found click here to paid (Bluetooth) but when you click nothing happens. Same ja true for the plus sign on the top right corner.

Deleting bulbs to re add them was a mission and a half. And when the bulbs are connected WiZConnected fails and you can’t really manage them… WiZConnected needs a lot of work…

By

The worst switch I’ve ever experienced

I used to love the old version of WiZConnected the integration was sketchy at times but when it worked it was great but this new it it’s the most frustrating app I’ve ever encountered can’t see my devices had to import from the old app my group not all devices came over tried adding it to the new group now I can’t delete light or the group forever stuck I just deleted and will be moving on to some other lights with hopefully better app integration which makes me sad because I used to love WiZConnected. All things come to an end I guess

By

The original app was much more functional.

I feel that this new app has potential, but the original one worker great and was very intuitive.
I use them in almost every room in my home.
I am having to constantly restart WiZConnected to gain connectivity to lights.
I would like to remind the developers that people use this to control their lights, if I have to screw around for 5 minutes to dim a light, the whole thing is pointless.
Over all the lights and the original app have really improved our quality of life and our autistic sons.
It is very valuable to be able to set a bulb to almost any color imaginable with the swipe of the finger.
When it works of course.

By

MUST READ

Now I NEVER…EVER write reviews but I’m so upset and disappointed about this update. Some things should just be left alone and it was nothing wrong with the other app. This is app is hard to use, confusing and just a bunch of extra stuff for no reason I can connect my Alexa to my lights anymore it took so long to connect my lights to it. And majority of the time my lights disconnect from WiZConnected all the time I HATE THIS NEW APP. And I’m very much tech savvy so I have done every troubleshooting I can do just bring back the old app or fix this one and it’s definitely a NEGATIVE 5 stars for me

By

good lights, bad app

when i first got the lights about two months ago they worked great, but for the past month maybe anytime i try to do something on WiZConnected it says “unknown issue occurred”. it still completes the action and changes the lights but it’s constantly popping up. i tried just deleting the room and re-adding the lights thinking maybe it would go away, but when i tried to do so, it said i had to delete each bulb individually before deleting the group so when i went to delete the bulbs i couldn’t find any way to even remove them, so now i’m just stuck with “unknown issue occurred” anytime i try to do anything on WiZConnected . i really like these lights and i wish they’d do something to fix it considering it’s been this long already.

By

Please Add Apple Watch Support

I have no incentive to keep purchasing new lamps if they are not as convenient as other brands. Please add an Apple Watch app so that I can use the watch to conveniently control the lights rather than having to open my phone and opening WiZConnected .

Other than that, WiZConnected works great, I love how many settings there are for the color of the lamps.

By

Did not think we needed the V2 but it is great

Honestly the V1 of WiZConnected was already very good so I was skeptical why it is needed to build a V2.
But V2 is even easier to use and program the light bulbs. It shows which light bulbs are connect (sometimes I turn them off from the switch), so it is now very clear which light is a hard off what is a soft off.
Additionally, it is easier to program on/off schedule.
Thirdly there is now a widget for simply turning on/off, which comes in handy. The widget could be slightly improved, because now it opens up WiZConnected when you pressed onitand the widget itself cannot change light color.

By

Recent disappointment

UPDATE: my app started working again for maybe a week and then all of my lightbulbs say they are unreachable and any attempts to re pair them have been unsuccessful, when i tried to use the chatbot "help service" it told me to use self help and considered its job done if i could change my rating to a zero or a negative number at this point i would

When i first started using WiZConnected and these bulbs i was super excited and they worked with almost no problems, but recently my app lags or doesnt work at all and tells me some "unknown problem ocurred". Its making the bulbs and app almost unusable and ive had to go through my alexa app just to keep using them in any capacity. Im super disappointed about this and hope they can fix it soon so i dont have to switch out the brand of bulbs for my whole home just to use them

By

Needs some work

Been using wiz lights for about 2 years now and just moved into a new place and saw that they have a new app version so decided to give it a go. Many bugs seem to be present, app is super glitchy, says my lights aren’t on when they most definitely are, simple turning off and on again seems to fix the issue. App is a big more confusing that v1, and also does not seem as user friendly, lights turning on in the middle of the night, just seems a bit messy. Hoping they fix a lot of the bugs soon. Lights are great and we’re great on the old app, just needs some fine tuning.

By

Need to restart app every time I want to control my lights

Every time I use WiZConnected to control my lights, it shows my lights as off-line. I have to restart WiZConnected EVERY time I need to use it, so it can find my lights. EVERY SINGLE TIME! Restarting WiZConnected works, but I shouldn’t have to do that every time I try to turn on or off my lights. Very frustrating! My son used to use WiZConnected with these lights and he was so frustrated. He switched to Philips Hue. I have not made the switch yet but most likely will because this is ridiculous. If anyone has any ideas on why this is doing this, please let me know so I can fix settings or something? I want to like WiZConnected. I like the idea and the lights.

By

Get these lights and this app if you hate yourself.

Idk how signify/Philips are avoiding lawsuits by putting out faulty products like WiZConnected. Clearly they’re pulling enough profits off the additional data harvesting WiZConnected has that they don’t care about quality or customer experience.

I highly recommend WiZConnected to anyone who likes to waste time connecting smart lights over and over and over and over again only to be told they’re offline.

Was WiZConnected developed in an after school coding program for Jr High kids in the valley? This is actually a joke right? Like, at some point do I receive a push notification saying, “the devs were just having a laugh, here’s a link to the real app, that actually works” or no?

UI issues

Have 3 bulbs connected no problem. There was a weird issue with owner rights but I got those resolved. Just purchased Philips LED strip lights and WiZConnected recognizes the device but when I tap “tap here to pair” there is no response. The animation of tapping occurs so it’s not frozen but there is nothing happening. The plus sign on top of my screen also does nothing. Did ALL the things to troubleshoot with customer support and nothing is making it work - UPDATE: we ended up figuring out I had to add re-download the V1 app (and uninstall V2), add the strip lights to the V1 app first, then reinstall V2 to get them over. Seems support for strip lights in V2 wasn’t done!

The old app was much better.

The old app had a much cleaner look to it and functioned when I need it.

I use Wiz for lighting and this new app generally works, but sometimes it doesn’t. I get errors saying there was a connection issue (connection is fine) and I need to restart WiZConnected to get it to work, and it is very inconvenient. Other times the interface will respond and show a difference in lighting or color, but the light does not. I’m not a big fan of the new looks either.

With the old app I never had any of these issues. It was simple, clean and it worked when I needed it to.

By

Bring Back the Old App!

I love my wiz lights, but the new app isn’t so unnecessary and has actively made the user experience worse. I never had any problems quickly switching between the different color options and intensities on the old app, which was perfectly streamlined and easy to use. The new app seems to have tons of new functionality, but this functionality is useless behind a rather difficult and counter-intuitive UI. The response time between choosing a light option and it activating the lights is worse as well.

I have never written a review before, but I am compelled to now because this is one of if not the worse declines in UI functionality I have ever seen. The old app worked perfectly fine, was intuitive, and fulfilled all the wants I had for the service. Maybe the new UI will just take more getting used to, but the old UI was seamless and easy to use immediately. More bells and whistles is not necessarily a good thing.

Keeps losing my house

STAY AWAY FROM WiZConnected— updated July ‘23. There are not enough awful things I can say about WiZConnected. Suggesting every negative reviewer message with tech support to fix an app that is clearly beyond help at this point has lost me as a customer. I’m replacing the entire house. Never again. I will actively go out of my way to keep people away from this product since it’s clear you don’t care about rolling a defective app back.

New version consistently forgets my house, prompts me to do a whole new setup and has no prompt to log in again—to find my existing house. I have gone back to the old version that actually works. If you ever stop supporting it, I will stop buying these bulbs. I have already stopped recommending to friends. This so called upgrade is an epic failure. Harder to use. Buggy. Just bad. Update in May 23–still awful.

V2 ruined my light bulbs

Bulbs worked great with Wiz v1 - setup was a little clunky but didn’t have issues for years.

Now, after being told to install v2, I have endless issues.

- Almost impossible to pair more than one bulb. Have literally spent hour trying to get my two bulbs in the same room to pair, and even after being getting a success message, only one turns off when I turn the room off.

- When I did actually get both to pair (after literal hours spent troubleshooting), automation doesn’t work. Want lights to turn off at 11? Too bad, they turn off at 10:24 for some reason. I honestly was going to live with this, but then only one turned off tonight, and it set me back down the pairing/unpairing wormhole.

- Pointless features. SpaceSense, WizClick, rhythms, etc. seem to have been dreamt up by a product owner looking to prove themselves. At best, these are unnecessary fluff for a product/platform that works - for one that doesn’t, it’s an embarrassment. Get the little things right (like knowing the time) first.

By

Sad to say the old app was better

I’ve had a hard time getting the version 2 app to work. I went through the process of manually migrating the setup from the old app to the new v2 and I wish I had more constructive feedback to give, but it just doesn’t really work that well. I only have a single WIZ lightbulb in my home office so I can imagine how frustrating it would be to try to figure this out with an entire home setup. It looks like some attention has been paid to the aesthetic of the UI in the new version, but it doesn’t work as well as the prior version. If you have an elaborate home setup linked to the prior app version, I wouldn’t recommend the v2 app.

Bad bulbs bad app

Lights constantly lose connection, and I have to restart WiZConnected (sometimes multiple times) to regain the connection. You have to ensure a 2.4ghz wireless connection to pair bulbs, but many modern isps don’t offer that distinction or control over which bandwidth you can select. Right now, one bulb won’t pair so I’m having to contact support AGAIN (last time all my bulbs wouldn’t work because they were trying to do a firmware update that took weeks to finish and one of their suggestions was to just buy new bulbs lol), the chatbot asks for the error description, but WiZConnected won’t show that information to me, it just gives me a red exclamation mark and the option to contact support. I’m getting very tired of sitting in the dark, spending an hour or more troubleshooting my dang lightbulbs. I’m about to just light a candle. Avoid WiZ!! Get Phillips hue or something else that’ll just work without the headache

By

Bad software. Schedules and Rhythms fight one another.

I installed WiZConnected about five days ago and so far, I haven’t been able to figure it out. Well, the idea of the Circardian cycle seems appealing. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the option to turn off the lights completely at night one possible solution to this I thought it would be to create a schedule on top of it. However, the way schedules are set up. It’s not intuitive. One would think that there would be an easier way to turn lights off. However, the way scheduling is set up toggles lights off at the end of the schedule. So you need to overlay the schedule with the cicardian rhythm. Anyway. Same exact setup for 3 different rooms and I get different results in each one of them.

WiZConnected turns something as easy as turning ON and OFF a light into something impossible.

Weird glitches in app makes it hard to use

I have it set to be on “daylight” every time I turn it on for a reason, well all of a sudden it hs been changing to this light yellow/warm light. I haven’t changed the settings and I’m unable to fix this problem, it’s really irritating. I try to change it back to daylight but a few seconds later - back to dingy warm yellow. Whatsup with that :( and sometimes when I go on WiZConnected , I can’t go into any other tab, it always forces me to go back to “automation”. I literally don’t want to do anything in automation at the moment, why is it forcing me to stay on that tab??

All these problems are recent, maybe a week. I haven’t changed anything in WiZConnected so I’m not sure why I’m having these issues all of a sudden :(

Unimpressed

I was actually surprised at the high review this got. Has to be the manufacture reviewing itself… thing is super under engineered.. bought one of the wifi A19 bulbs and paired it up with their motion sensor which is bluetooth, very disappointing. What will happen is that all the system is completely useless if you turn the lights off via a switch.. these seem to be only designed if there isnt any wall switch in the room… the general rule of thumb is that even with a light switch turned off there is still some kind of voltage leak. Had they make it where that can power the wifi module in the light consistently then that wouldve made for too much sense, but if you turn the switch off you turn WiZConnected off which in turn turns the motion sensor off… not very well thought out.

Easy to use

WiZConnected is so easy to use. So far not a single glitch or problem so that’s already 5 to me, but for people who need more than that WiZConnected makes it very easy to access everything you need because of how organized it is, and this is coming from a neat freak. Although of course every app has it flaws WiZConnected’s only flaw is that it takes a while to connect to the lights. Other than that I totally recommend these lights and WiZConnected . Thank You!

New app doesn’t know itself

I had the legacy app, and it worked. But now I’ve been forced to upgrade. WiZConnected only recognizes one light. So I search help to “add a light” and it tells me to choose the room and the choose the “group”. Well, there is no group. I only have one light signed on for this room, and that’s not reading as a group. Can we only have one light per room? I’ve tried again and again to follow the instructions to add my bedside lamp, but the directions are clearly not up to date. They tell me to hit choices that aren’t there. This is my BEDROOM and I can’t turn this light on. Well, I can using the old-fashioned switch, but it only comes on big and bright. There’s no way to control it.

My advice: don’t buy Wiz lights. It’s just a waste. Life is too short. Go buy a normal lightbulb off the light quality you plan to use the most and leave tech out of it.

New wiz app does not work with alexia

I will now have to go out and spend more money on bulbs that do not have to be set up with the wiz app. The original wiz app was great I hooked up my lights and connected it to my Alexa so all I had to do was say alexia turn on lights we have a lamp in our living room you can not reach as it’s in a corner behind sectional couch and it was great being able to turn light on and off and now I can no longer do this as WiZConnected is not working with alexa. I would put the old wiz app back onto my phone but it no longer will work for me. Why did you change apps or why jot leave old app up for those of us who already were happy with how it worked. Now like I said I have to go spend more money on all new lights that use a different app.

Awful. New App Ruins User Experience

I can’t believe this is “2.0”… the old app was so easy to use. This new version is significantly less user friendly— basically a downgrade of the whole product line (which is crazy considering that the bulbs have only gotten more expensive). Fewer customization options, fewer accessible colors, and most annoyingly, when I automate a room there’s no way to choose which lights will participate or to what degree. What’s the point of having scenes if I can’t schedule them (outside of Circadian Rhythm, which is a useless feature for anyone who doesn’t have the exact same schedule every day).

I have had hue and wiz bulbs in every room in my home for years. I use them to assist with my adhd time blindness which has been an enormous help. WiZConnected is so clunky that I actually find it eating up my time rather than helping me best utilize it. I have now redownloaded the “legacy” app to find that all of my schedules and other information have been deleted, so I will now have to re-do all of my automation by hand. Worth it to be able to delete this terrible new version.

Ex: In the past I was able to have just my bedside lamps participate in the wake up phase, but with the new version every light in the room has to do the same thing. Cue horrifying bright light jarring me awake from my overhead light… so now I can’t use these lights as an alarm clock/time cue. That was the whole point of buying them in the first place.

Horrible app

I’ve been using these bulbs for well over a year now. We had some issues with the old app and they just created the V2 app but I decided to go with the original app based on all the reviews. It wasn’t smooth on the old app like everyone else says. I was having so many issue that I decided at the beginning of this year to switch. It was pretty spotty to start but then after complaining a couple times, it worked all the time with no issues for a few months. I was enjoying it and was surprised. Well, over the last month or two, WiZConnected has been complete garbage. It just randomly stops working and will only connect to one room and only one or two of the three bulbs all linked together. And it stays like that for a day or two. I have to start using the lights the way I used to with the light switch. Which defeats the reason for having these bulbs. I even spent four or five hours with customer support in WiZConnected and they never got it working. I’m with everyone else and done with these things. They would have to pay me to use these bulbs from here on out and even then I wouldn’t use WiZConnected, I would just treat them like a regular light bulb.

It’s fine but annoying

I never write reviews, so I really hope feedback is taken seriously. WiZConnected is fine, though not user friendly - you have to go through a bunch of unnecessary steps just to set one light setting. It’s not as easy to use as the original version. Also too, it would be nice to go back to the settings/lighting options without having to go “back” through a ton of pages. However, it does turn my lights on and off, so I guess it does the job. The reason for my review is due to a bug of WiZConnected that no matter what section of WiZConnected I navigate to (home, library, etc) it automatically brings me back to the automation “tab”. Sometimes I can’t even set the light mode I want because of this. It’s annoying and counters the whole purpose of WiZConnected .

Junk

I filled my house with ceiling lights and attached them all to the original Wiz app. I saw there was an “upgrade” to WiZConnected. When installing and migrating, it deleted everything I had setup from the first app. Yes, I have an account and I was signed in. I tried to reinstall everything using this new app and there were so many issues, I’m not going waste my time trying to explain them here. I, therefore, had to re-install everything, on the original app. The developers did not test WiZConnected before launch and want the customer to solve their problems. I’m regretting buying these products for fear that in another couple years they’ll be abandoned and I’ll be left having to buy all new fixtures again. 👍 I can’t wait. Typical of today’s apps and businesses. The original app no longer works with the current IOS update 17.0.3 Genius 👍

Errors preventing setup

An in app error is preventing me from even connecting my light. The old app was better.

Update: tried again a week later, still the same network error at the same point in the process (listing the rooms in my house). The developer says to use the in-app support tool... but there is no option for it! Yes I see the developer response telling me to use it but at this stage in the process there is no means of accessing it. I even made an account (they require you to sync with either facebook, apple, or Google account, they don't even offer an email option) and I still had the same problem at the same stage! I even tried using their instructions to migrate my house from the old app. They instruct the user to download the old app again if they deleted it, but once you download it the main screen only shows for a couple seconds then shuts down. I really wish I could return my light as their ASININE app has made it useless. 🤬

Don’t waste your $$$

UPDATE: Not only does WiZConnected not work, but support is nonexistent. You can’t just tell every individual person who is having issues with WiZConnected - which appears to be everyone who has used it - to contact support individually. It is completely apparent that WiZConnected is total crappola and these problems are not cases of user error or faulty home WiFi setups. When I asked who whom I could contact about reimbursement for my now unusable bulbs, I was completely ignored. Someone should start a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer for this.

The original wiz app had its problems, but it worked well enough that I was satisfied with my purchase of the accompanying smart bulb. Satisfied enough that I replaced numerous bulbs throughout my home with them. Slowly but surely the apps glitches got worse. Then they come out with a new app that not only didn’t fix the glitches, but was even less user-friendly than the original. 90 percent of the time the lights are marked as “offline” in WiZConnected . 10 percent of the time I’m randomly able to control a random assortment (but never all) of the lights. I feel completely swindled, but Philips clearly has no interest in customer satisfaction, so I’ll just toss these now useless bulbs and take the L.

Genuinely bad after they moved to version 2

Almost every time I will go into WiZConnected and the room/main screen is greyed out. Not even able to interact with my light. I’ll try to change the light and the buttons don’t even work. Every time I try to turn it on or change the light I get an “error” message. Sometimes I get no message, just fully greyed out and non-functional.

I’ll close my app and open it multiple times and sometimes that works but most times it’s pure chance that I’m able to change my light. Very frustrating and just pointless to switch to a different app only for it to not work.

I will probably just be switching back to a regular light bulb. I thought the colors were super cool and awesome for when you don’t want it super bright or pitch black but having to deal with this everyday multiple times a day just makes it not worth it.

Broken app- v1 worked perfectly, v2 a mess

It’s been over a year since this v2 of the Wiz app came out. Though it did have a nicer looking UI at first glance, the UX has struggled since installing v2. Example: I often have to tap a light multiple times, or close WiZConnected and reopen just to turn on a light, when this used to work without a hitch in the original app. Unfortunately, things have only gotten worse over time. This last two weeks, my automations have just fully stopped working. I tried to reinstall the original Wiz app out of desperation, but it crashes upon opening, so seems I’m stuck with this now.

If you still are using the original app, DON’T upgrade to this one! It is 100% a downgrade from a original app and things will no longer be working the way they once were.

Worked well, now getting an error message

I bought a Philips light bulb because with WiZConnected, I could set a time along with a brightness. This means, I can bring up the light slowly in the morning. It worked well until recently. Now, I get: Unknown issue occurred Something went wrong please try again later. The bulb still works according to the schedule I set up. I restarted WiZConnected and my iPhone. Same problem. I tried the help through WiZConnected . After getting past the chat bot, I waited more than 10 minutes without a reply. When I got a response, I was asked to provide info, that gave me the unknown issue error. After waiting again, I gave up. I thought about deleting WiZConnected and starting all over, but decided not to. I have something that works somewhat (I cannot turn the light on or off from my phone or change the schedule , but the schedule still works). I don’t want to reinstall only to find out it it is totally useless. I have the latest version. I will look for another product. Based on my experience, don’t use WiZConnected.

Junk - nothing but issues - always!!

Honestly, the lights are great - when they work. WiZConnected is horrible. My lights always magically aren’t connected, and the only way to control them is to completely reinstall the lights like I’ve never owned them. I don’t know what happened in the past few months - but it’s been a complete nightmare whatever was done behind the scenes. I would suggest any other brand where people have no issues controlling their smart lights from their app - the lights are a dime a dozen - nothing special from others. If you can’t get your lights to consistently work with WiZConnected , WiZConnected is probably more important to customer satisfaction. I’ve gotten to the point where I just let them only work with the schedule I have set up - cause magically that works just fine, but controlling them manually now is just a gigantic hassle. I will never buy this brand again due to the horrible app - it’s that simple.

Do more research

So my issue started a couple weeks ago when one of my lightbulb stopped working and I assumed it was the original app trying to force me to migrate over to the new one so I did and I still had issues with the lightbulb. I’ve been dealing with customer support now for three days and they are zero help. first day kept questioning me about did something change is there a extension cord or a thick wall or a dimmer switch but literally nothing changed so then They keep trying to say that there’s something wrong with my network but we tested a whole bunch of stuff (nothing wrong with my network)now they want me to try a hotspot and it’s just getting a bit ridiculous so if you’re thinking about purchasing these lights for your house, do a bit more research and think about getting another brand. I would honestly give them a zero if I could.

Useless

Where do you want the review to begin-first of all your going to force people onto an app that is nothing but problems. It’s a pain to link multiple phones to WiZConnected to control a house. Let’s now move on to the biggest issues-WiZConnected is telling me lights are on that are off and has us constantly checking those rooms. Or it won’t connect to lights that are on to turn off. I should have to worry if the light in my toddler’s bedroom is on yet I do because WiZConnected is faulty. Other issues is it won’t turn off our lights or connect to the lights in my bedroom. I have to keep resetting WiZConnected to get it to connect. As I read reviews I see I am not the only one with these issues yet you act like it’s user error when it’s clearly not.

Why release an app and give people to use it when it isn’t even working half the time. FIX IT then have people use it. It’s obvious it NEVER got tested before it was rolled out onto users. And the biggest questions-why fix something that’s NOT broken and working great?

Both non intuitive and unstable

Want to create a group and add lights to it? Good luck finding it - you have to be in a room - and then you can only select lights in that room for the group. Do you need to remove a light from a group or room? Good luck. Extremely non-intuitive. Add to this the entire system when paired with Philip’s lights is unstable. Lights go off line and it’s near impossible to reset them, many times lights are unresponsive and cannot be controlled and frequently a light shows up as ready to pair that I’ve already paired and errors out during the process creating a zombie. I’d say if you have two or three lights at most WiZConnected and lights are probably ok. But if you need to do a whole house lighting system, invest in a better quality system that uses a hub.

Really needs toggle on/off option for quick actions and shortcuts

The quick actions and shortcuts don’t allow you to toggle a light on if it is off or off if it is on. This means tediously having to creative on and off versions and running out of space for quick actions on the widgets, or shortcuts on home screens. In short time using v2 app have hit some stability issues, e.g. Widget is failing to launch app when I select to add a quick action from the widget (although it can be done if you launch app yourself and can find quick actions).

Update: shortcuts/quick actions are not controlling all the selected bulbs (maybe only newer generation ones?) and cause them to gray out until app restart? On off from room control?

Since only the few newer bulbs have the SpaceSense (which wasn’t mentioned in the constant nagging to upgrade to app v2) this new app doesn’t seem to have been appropriately tested and appears to be a downgrade from the v1 app.

Worse than previous Version

I have been using WIZ for a couple of years now for our bedroom lights. Our bedroom doesn’t have any overhead lights so we have to use lamps, making this the most convenient options. I have them connected to my google hub for quick voice commands and I have WiZConnected. I used the previous version with virtually no issues. It rarely displayed that there wasn’t a connection or glitched out. I cannot say the same about this new app. Nearly every time I open it my lights aren’t displaying as registered and I get the error that my lights aren’t on when they clearly are. For example, I just opened and closed WiZConnected 5 times before it displayed my lights were on-before I could adjust. I don’t like the new setup either, it feels way more difficult to navigate than in the previous version. I was excited to try this new version and it’s been a big let down. There’s no point in having these lights if I can’t actually use them with WiZConnected , or even through my google hub. I just receive error after error that there was an issue and lack a connection (even sometimes when I am in the middle of adjusting brightness and color). Please fix these issues with WiZConnected so it’s actually functional.

Looks terrible on ipad

I've got over 50 wiz devices, been using them for several years now and I love the hardware and the v1 app was a little basic, but simple to use.

This version is terrible. It's far less intuitive and more difficult to navigate. Making all that worse - it's designed for a phone size screen and doesn't scale correctly on the ipad.

I get what the devs were going for, but this is a big fail. The GUI is not fun to use in any way. Urge you to keep the v1 app alive until you work things out.

Take a suggestion from the devices you're running on. It'd be really nice to be able too set up my room layout like icons on my phone or tablet. Give me a 10x15 grid that I can move my lights and devices around in and setup my own custom layout.

The tabs in v1 weren't perfect, but they're leaps better than the list menus in v2. I seriously don't know how you could use v1, then believe v2 is an upgraded experience in comparison. I mean come on... List menus? Really!?!!?

I do like that you added some new features, looks like there's native support for motion sense now. I've not checked it out yet because I just can't bring myself to spend more that 5 min in v2.

If this were a hardware alone review, it'd be 10 stars. Really really great lights and smart plugs. Wiz (Phillips) keeps adding new bulb sizes, which I really hope they keep up.

Not so great

I worked hard to understand and set up my original version 1 app and was doing pretty well with it so when they said I had to use the new app and they would migrate everything for me I thought I would be ok. But no turns out they had 3 different accounts on my list and I chose the wrong one and could not pair some bulbs even manually Finally I deleted a bunch of lights in one account and chose another which I have gotten to work after 3 HOURS of concentrated effort. If the bulbs were not so $&@#% expensive I would have smashed them. The new app is horribly counterintuitive to use and it is maddening to be forced to update and mess up something that works. You need to do some naive user testing before releasing When theses bulbs go I will not be buying Phillips again. And for the record I have used multiple brands of computers, software and handheld devices successfully for 30 years.

This app is so bad.

I mean this when I say, I’m a very, very patient person. I’ve never left a bad review for anything ever. I truly believe everyone is trying their best at all times, and it isn’t up to me to judge if they’re best is or isn’t good enough. That said, WiZConnected is honestly dogsh*t. The lights constantly drop connection for days at a time. If you have lights grouped pretty frequently one or two of them won’t respond while one will, throwing off any attempt to have a unified color scheme or even working in sync. Thank God as soon as Matter integration was released I connected all the lights to Apple Home. It isn’t great but I can turn the lights on when I need to, and they actually link. On that note, the dev’s built a “reset devices” button into WiZConnected that’s said “Stay tuned for our coming update” for 6 months and multiple updates. All of which seemingly have broke this even worse.

V2 needs help

Takes forever for WiZConnected to recognize that the bulbs are on/receiving power. & if I turn the light off via WiZConnected & wake up for work I find myself unable to turn the light on in a reasonable time to get ready for work in the morning. & it’s impossible to bypass WiZConnected if I turn the light off via WiZConnected no matter how many times I turn the switch on/ off. Getting dressed & brushing my teeth in the dark gets old. I’d prefer to use the original app it was more responsive & had the ability to recognize that the switch is on. It’s NOT a security system so I don’t see why there’s not a way to flip the switch in a way to just have a basic lighting function take effect without having to wait for WiZConnected to respond/establish a connection? Such as the functionality of (when the in WiZConnected the light is “on” & WiZConnected recognizes that, you flip the switch On/Off/On you can set it to change two different light settings) maybe throw in some kind of bypass for that in the next update as well as establish a better & quicker response time for WiZConnected to recognize that the bulb is receiving power.

New App is garbage, I gave them a chance

I gave it a chance, I gave the development team a couple months to screw this thing together properly, but it hasn’t happened.
The timer system doesn’t seem to work, or rather it follows some hidden clock rather than the times I enter for my time zone.
WiZConnected doesn’t connect to my network constantly. It’s basically random as to whether WiZConnected will let me operate the lights. It’s infuriating. My idea of how WiZConnected should work is that EVERY TIME I open it while standing in the room I want to control, I should be able to open WiZConnected and control the lights. This is true about 50% of the time. The switches are on because well, the lights are on. I can’t turn them off because, WiZConnected won’t connect. If it works sometimes, it should work all the time. To be very clear, this is not a problem with how it’s set up. It is not a problem with my modem or home network. I will be contacting support about this. The old app worked, every time, I never had issues like this. How about copying the programming and making it look a little cleaner. Instead you built a new app with a crappy networking process. It might look “newer” but I’d rather something work than look good.

Glitchy broken mess

I got two WiZ lightbulbs at the clearance isle of my local store at $0.99. Now I think I know how they got there. The setup was tedious and took almost an hour as the lightbulbs refused to enter pairing mode. WiZConnected itself has some nice features, but they only work 10% of the time, with the bulbs randomly going offline way too often. Every time I try to do something with the light I see the “unknown issue occurred, try again later” message. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. No matter if I want to change light color, mode, turn light on/off, go into settings, anything - there’s always an error message. WiZConnected is EXTREMELY poorly built. A lot of the buttons, instructions, graphics, menu items, etc. do not fit onto the screen and are not clickable. I can see a button that I want to press, but I only see the top few pixels of it and can’t click it. Most of the instructions (especially in pairing mode) only showed the first few words, the rest was off-screen, making the already painful pairing process even worse. A lot of the elements that are meant to be centered are all over the place. There are a lot of typos in WiZConnected interface. For reference, I’m using an iPhone 13mini, my WiFi is provided by the latest Spectrum modem.
A note to the dev team: if I don’t see significant improvement to WiZConnected within the next few months, I’ll be returning the lightbulbs to the clearance isle of my local store - where they belong - and advising everyone else on here to do the same.

Should be called DUMBLIGHTS

Because they’re the opposite of smart. Idk what Philips was doing when they created the Wiz but they clearly can’t CARE less. Don’t dare think for a second “oh look another Wiz app, V2, must mean improvement!” WRONG the original app kept closing out. The v2 app won’t even let me set up a light to the room. It won’t let me click on “start set up” the prompt literally follows 0 command. Its not frozen, because when I press the “start set up” I can see the color get highlighted but when I release the button / remove my finger from clicking or pressing it does absolutely NOTHING. Terrible. I’m so very disappointed in WIZ a year ago I thought I would just update to HUE if Wiz didn’t improve but TODAY, I wouldn’t DARE touch the hue system simply because it’s made by Philips and they’ve managed to royally mess the Wiz V2 app up. Such a small issue should not snowball but with Wiz it SOMEHOW always does. Looking into other brands especially those that allow multiple rooms to be connected to one remote control without the constant use of an app!

New App renders the lights useless

This new updated app is awful. I never had any issues controlling the lights from my phone with the old app. When i was finally forced to upgrade to the new one, half the lights that use this program no longer want to work or occasionally will show they are working in the all. It has turned into an expensive bulb I have to manually turn on and off. I haven’t changed my wifi, location, or set up in any way besides WiZConnected and always have issues now.

Update: No response from developer help. They leave a comment on everyone saying to contact them for troubleshooting. WiZConnected has only gotten worse where it now says there is an unknown error and to try again later. If I use wifi or cellular I get the same message. The worst part it is always random. Sometimes it will work after a few tries and other times I just give up and manually control the light. I’m not sure how WiZConnected has a 3.9 rating…

This is the worst lighting app I’ve ever worked with

At this point it Hass to just be laziness. In 2024 I have never worked with a lighting app that can’t even remember the last setting it was on. If you have it set in your bedroom and you turn them off when you turn them back on it, all defaults back horrible white if you have four lights and say you have two of them off and you go to change the color, it turns them all back on and changes the color of all of them! This is the worst intuitive app ever and this company does nothing about it! App developers… You know what would be nice… That when I turn the lights off and I turn them on, they turn on with the same setting I had last time! It’s no fun to reset your lights every single time you use them! Especially because you have to have WiZConnected to do it. Literally the lights are fine. WiZConnected is nothing more than an inconvenience, and a big annoyance! Fix WiZConnected.

Disappointed

I was initially captivated by Wiz Lights, drawn in by the promise of a harmonious, connected home. Eagerly, I invested in a full suite of bulbs, anticipating a seamless integration. However, my experience has been tarnished by persistent crashes that necessitate a full system reset far too often. For a product positioned at a premium, the expectation is reliability, which, regrettably, has not been met.
The Wi-Fi connection, a critical component for smart lights, has proven to be disappointingly unstable. While I acknowledge that no technology is perfect, the challenges in rectifying these issues are disproportionate to the premium price tag these lights command. When operational, the brilliance of Wiz Lights is undeniable, yet the shadow of unreliability looms large, casting doubt on the product’s completeness.
Moreover, the color modes offered lack the dynamism and innovation one would expect. The current selection feels uninspired, with many modes appearing indistinguishable from one another. This is particularly disheartening given the potential for such a feature to elevate the ambiance of any space.
In conclusion, while Wiz Lights shine bright when they function as intended, the overall user experience is dimmed by technical difficulties and a lack of creative features. It is my hope that future updates will address these shortcomings, fulfilling the promise of a premium smart lighting experience.

Complete Trash…just throw your lights away

WiZConnected has completely destroyed my bulbs. This is now my 10th ish time (over 2 weeks)trying to connect these bulbs to this pathetic excuse for an app and i keep getting the same issues. Automatic pairing is useless. It will sit there and find all your bulbs but will continue to search for more disallowing you to finish connecting the bulbs you have. And thats if it works. Half of the time i cant even get WiZConnected to accept my wifi password or even load into the next section of the connection process. Manual pairing is even more useless bc it will have you sitting in a loading screen for an undisclosed amount of time. I got so frustrated i just clicked manual pair and let it sit while i was chilling an i came back over 30min later for there to still be a loading screen. The gui is awful. Like navigating WiZConnected is completely ridiculous. I think everybody would be happy if you scrapped this and allowed us to stay on the og app. This is nonsense. I got prolly 200$ in wiz lights that are completely useless due to this god awful app. We being patient but this is crazy. Somebody please fix WiZConnected.

Not user-friendly

I have never used any product in my life that was so un user friendly why is the set up process so difficult for a lightbulb? it refuses to connect every single time and it needs so much user information The smart app seems like a nice user feature, but they should also include a remote in the box if they know that their app is not going to work and why does it have to connect to 2.4 GHz this is not 2014 the nationwide standard is 5 GHz now please even a 14-year-old can design a better app wiz do better and actually put in effort I don’t even have a high school education and I know how to design a better app it looks as if there was only about an hour put into WiZConnected until they consider is complete for the public WiZConnected feels like it was designed by a 10-year-old with down syndrome just let us use our expensive lightbulbs with the advertise features without requiring a significant amount of user data and a tedious, set up process. It’s so basic and easy to let us do that this company is in serious need of a new design team

They fixed the glitch but I still miss version 1

Had issues with version 2 when it first came out and people lost their minds me included. Left a bad review. They listened and they fixed it so I’m back here changing my review so I can sleep at night credit where credit due. Haven’t had issues in a while. I still like the first version interface better. Things feel hidden in version 2. Like I have to be on the look out for an Easter egg to change what color white I want. Layout of the controls the first version was simple. You didn’t have to think. It was faster to make a change especially to a different color but what eves. Im griping. As long as this new one don’t glitch I guess we are copasetic.

I am the Wiz!

I’ve owned WiZ products for the last several years. That has built a track record for me of trust and reliability for their service within my home. I’ve found WiZ product compatibility with multiple home automation standards a desired trait that more of these types of products should be required to maintain.

The WiZ application in one of multiple venues to interact with the products. Within WiZConnected all WiZ devices can be controlled to a precise art. I find the application straightforward and has only improved of previous iterations. Setup has always been incredibly efficient and one of the quickest I’ve ever dealt with in smarthome environment.

I’ve recently taken on a renovation project for my elderly mothers home. Safety is a big factor for her current needs. The WiZ product line has all that I need for me and her to be happy with. I will be installing WiZ cameras, exterior and interior lighting and make sure she has the available mobile switches and remote for additional ease of use. She is no longer afraid of this technology. She now finds like I do that it makes life a little easier.

Thank You WiZ!

Keep making a great app and countless great products!

STICK WITH ORIGINAL WiZ app. The first app/version is WAY better.

DONT GET THIS ONE. STAY WITH ORIGNIAL WiZ app. I don’t write reviews but WiZConnected (WIZ V2) kept annoying me enough for me to write one. It is very buggy. 80% I can’t get my light to turn off properly. I always run into trouble where it says that it’s not turned on and it shows as off on WiZConnected . Having a widget won’t allow you to turn it off or on, if you click on the widget buttons it will open WiZConnected . Original WiZ app allows you to turn on/off your light without opening WiZConnected . Sometimes it TAKES FOREVER to have it pick up your light bulb. I once spent 2 minutes waiting and nothing so I had to get up and manually turn off my light. It does not have a timer. The original WiZ app had a timer I had just in case I fell asleep it would turn it off at a certain time. This one does not. Does it work? Sometimes. But if you don’t want to end up annoyed and want an app that runs smooth with your light bulb STICK WITH THE ORIGINAL WiZ app.

Hard to set up and easy to get frustrated

I have three bulbs. The set up seemed easy enough. That’s why I bought these after doing some research. I had one bulb get set up in less than a few minutes. Next bulb even easier. I was very excited because I did my research and for once it paid off. Not so fast! The third bulb… same bulb as the other two, refused to connect. WiZConnected kept asked my about the 2.4 ghz but the first two set up so that wasn’t the issue. Here is what really frustrated me beyond the fact that I could not get this last one to connect. I went to the manual set up in WiZConnected … white screen! I tried to go to customer service in WiZConnected …. White screen! Nothing drives me more insane than to need troubleshooting and WiZConnected itself is as much the problem as the device. Worst part is that nothing will change and I am stuck with a bulb that doesn’t work and an app/company that seems as dysfunctional as the device. I gave it two stars because I want to be fair. Two devices did set up easily.

Update:
The developer left me a nice message which seems like a form letter. Obviously they did not read my message because they asked me to go into WiZConnected and hit chat support. Did that several times…. White screen! That should tell you something about this company. Buyer beware.

We have Philips bulbs and never had an issue connecting (or reconnecting after power outage) with the first Wiz ap. With the Wiz2 app we were unable to migrate data over and had to reset up everything. Then we tried to connect to our Google home and have been unsuccessful. Now our data on Wiz 2 is gone again and we have to reset up again. We have done everything support suggests. Some of the troubleshooting isn't possible because you can't get the six digit code you need. We called Google home and they told us that the Wiz app 2 is not currently integrated into their Google home so advised we call Wiz. We sent 2 emails (cannot find a telephone support number) and no response. We have spent a lot of money in bulbs and a tremendous amount of time trying to resolve this issue. POOR rating. Lack of due diligence. They should not launch an app when they haven't completed the necessary integration for all devices that claim it supports.
