REALtirement is clunky and horrible and half the time you can’t even access your information. You would think that a company like nationwide could actually hire a developer to get this right.

It just loads and loads and nothing ever shows. Only had it work once and never again. Needs major work to be up and running.

No clue why they had to transfer all the info to REALtirement. The other app worked

REALtirement doesn’t work. Interesting that I get the circle of confusion and no data loads. I go to my desk top and it shows my last log in was while I was attempting to log in on REALtirement .

Can’t even log in. You enter credentials and then it spins with a loading animation. Now I can’t view any account info on REALtirement or the old app.

Writing my first app review ever to say how terrible REALtirement is, assuming you count an app that doesn’t load anything as an app at all.

For REALtirement to work, you must first login successfully which is not possible. Whoever approved REALtirement for use needs to be let go.

I would give this zero stars if I could. Like everyone I am annoyed by the lack of Face ID. REALtirement never loads. It’s honestly embarrassing a company as large as Nationwide would launch this piece of garbage.

This new app is terrible
I keep having to remove REALtirement and re-install it to get it to open every time I want to look at my account balance

The old app was at least reliable

I don’t usually reach out to do reviews but I’m really frustrated

My troubles are on an iOS device

I appreciate the features the new app has when it works. However, log in is difficult and some features are not functional 100% of the time.

App doesn’t work, and when it did I found it doesn’t even have MultiFactor login option considering it’s a financial “application”. Wish I could give it minus 5 star review 🤷🏻‍♂️. Bad, bad, bad. -5 ⭐️ 🤢

What a terrible app. Never had an issue with the old one and now I can rarely access this one. How does this happen? Fix your app, it’s trash.

REALtirement is worse than the last one. You have to login to the website to actually see anything with your retirement account. Face ID is not an option for logging in. You can’t move REALtirement from the Home Screen or it will never work. With as many employees as Nationwide has they should be able to roll out a functioning app. Incredibly disappointed.

It has never worked. It takes me to login screen, I enter my information, and it spins and spins and spins. Never successfully taking me to the information I opened REALtirement to get. It’s worse than useless, it wastes my time while in the process of failing to do what needs to be done. I’ve moved back to just using the website from my phone.

Nationwide has been forcing people to download REALtirement for a month or two, and it hasn’t worked at all. Whoever is leaving comments, save your breath. You contact your phone number and you tell them what’s going on because the exact same issue is happening to everyone.

REALtirement is not good. The old one wasn’t great either but it was better than this. It never loads. Won’t save your login information so you have to enter it every time and then you can’t even get into REALtirement because it just keeps spinning and spinning. Super frustrating.

This is a financial app so it’s important that it works and is secure. As you can see from the comments and ratings it does not work and is not secure. Move your money to a company that takes security seriously. REALtirement has not worked for a long time.

The old nationwide app worked fine. The new doesn’t know if it wants to open or not. They tried to add biometrics but that isn’t functioning properly. Hopefully they will work out the bugs or go back to the old app.

Why can’t it all be under the same umbrella as the website. Been with this same account for 20 years and the technology has gone backwards! How is that possible when it’s Nationwide!

Nationwide as a whole has provided a terrible investment tracking experience. Just absolutely horrid and REALtirement has only made it worse… the biggest fault being that IT NEVER LOADS. Flat out unacceptable & irresponsible for REALtirement to even be released to the public.

App worked once. Updated on App Store 3 weeks ago? Still doesn’t work. They should pull REALtirement. There are 7 year old creating games submitted to REALtirement Store and the actually open and work. Glad my company trusts Nationwide with my 403B because I don’t.

All does not load. I’ve reinstalled multiple times and still no luck. Reading other reviews and it sounds like I’m not alone. It’s been weeks and there’s still no fix. Should have kept the old app running.

The old app was barely functional but it at least worked. Now it directs you to this new app which does not function at all. Seriously, get it together. And don’t leave one of those stupid developer messages that says I should call you for help. REALtirement is trash and the user is not the problem. Log in and it spins and spins and never actually loads REALtirement .

Do yourself a favor and never download REALtirement.

First of all, you don’t need to double verify me for a retirement app when Fortune 500 apps with more sensitive information - and easier to transfer funds - don’t require it.

Second, figure out how to load the page. (Period). And if it does actually load, figure out how to get it to load faster. Just terrible!!!

App worked for about a month and stopped working. Stating it wasn’t found. I deleted and replaced it with the original app that doesn’t give anything other than tell to download REALtirement that still doesn’t work. Either fix it or remove it.

It pretends like it’s going to work and allows youto login only to get the spinning loading wheel of death. REALtirement in it’s current state is an embarrassment and a major insurance company should have fixed it already. My guess is they paid Payton Manning too much money and can’t afford competent developers.

Even with all the terrible reviews over the past few months, you still haven't fixed the issue for iOS users where we login and REALtirement literally spins until we close it after minutes of waiting. I will not be calling your support number to log my complaint because all you need to do is try to use this piece of trash app on your own iOS device and see for yourself. Just fix it already!!! Or remove it entirely from REALtirement store because in its current state is it actually worthless.

This is the most worthless app I use. I have to delete it and reinstall it just about every time I just simply want to check my balance. Nationwide has had several months to get this fixed, but it’s no better than when they first rolled it out. Extremely frustrating.

I really miss when my retirement value was updated in Nationwide app? Why fix what isn’t broken? this app app doesn’t remember login and password. No Face ID on iPhone. And now every time I run it I can log in once and then second time I try I log in on a different day I get an error that requires me to reinstall REALtirement .

I frequently receive error messages. Nationwide requested that I delete and reinstall REALtirement . Worked for 1 day. I use the web-based browser to access instead. The old app was good and I don’t see the need to create this split off from the main Nationwide app.

Amazing that at the time of this review it still has a 3.8/5. Old app had face id and remembered your user name. This is basically the online website downloaded. If you log in its just as good as googling the website from your phone. At least there chrome remembers your user and password. App needs quality of life improvements. Badly.

The worst app. The old app asked me to switch and download REALtirement. I am not even able to login in the new app and the old app doesn’t show the retirement info anymore.

Once you login REALtirement gets stuck loading and never shows your account info. Tried reinstalling and it still doesn’t work. Absolutely useless.

If you’re going to release a new app, order of business #1 is it should work. Nope. It should have biometrics. Nope. It should have improved features over previous version. Nope. Peyton- we love you but hate Nationwide retirement website platform and mobile app. Hold them accountable and have business ties with a better company that shares your commitment to excellence. Nationwide and REALtirement specifically is a total fail!!!

Crap

REALtirement gets stuck in a loading screen after attempting to log no. Tried deleting and reinstalling and same issue persists.

Downloaded the new app to view and keep an eye on my 457 plan. The new app never opens and the old app no longer works. So now I can’t see what’s going on.

Unable to log in despite using the exact same credentials as previous app.

Email was sent to wrong email for two factor authentication. Very concerning

Forced switch to the new app, so you can’t do anything about it, but the “brand new app” they hyped up lacks basic authentication features like faceid, remembering your credentials, etc. It doesn’t even have its own interface it seems like it’s a website/frame within REALtirement .

Terrible app. Won’t even log me in and the old app no longer works. Desktop interface is some of the worst I’ve ever seen. These people need to get their act together

Just a crappy web site wrapper. No more biometric login, must enter a username and password.

Don’t bother with this “app”. Just use the website.

After signing in and receiving a code, REALtirement simply loads forever.

Unable to receive the SMS MFA code. When I attempted to request a new code, REALtirement displayed email and phone info for a DIFFERENT Nationwide user. This result may indicate that the application is not correctly configured for authentication with Nationwide systems, and could lead to information disclosure about Nationwide customer accounts.

I log in, get sms code and then it just says loading to circle going round and round. I’ve tried about every day since new app launched and have never been able to access my account.

Old app no longer working and ask user to download this new app which worked for couple days and then no longer working since last week.

Idk who approved REALtirement but I couldn’t log in, now I can log in but I get a Java error. It was FINE before under the Nationwide app why did you change it?? The name is even weird..nothing real about it. Just let me see my money!

It took them years to create this new app and it worked for a few days. Now it just says REALtirement is currently unavailable. What kind of developers is Nationwide hiring? Horrible.

Since being forced to switch to REALtirement I can’t login to my account to check on 401k. Gets to the screen after authentication and then just spins and spins.

Very hard to log in. No facial recognition, hard to retrieve password. Have to type in all the time and today that did not work on first try and app is locked up now. You’ve done a terrible fix on something that wasn’t broken. Old app won’t show retirement info anymore either

Once REALtirement begins processing login credentials, it remains in the loading phase. Unable to use app at all. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still have the same problem.

Trying to login to REALtirement this morning and this pops up “Access Denied”. It has been working for the past few weeks then this happens….what is going on?

By the way, I just updated REALtirement !

How does a newly designed app released in 2024 not include FaceID!

REALtirement has had issue since its launch, I’ve only signed in 3 times successfully any other time is had a loading symbol forever. When REALtirement works it is a good app.

Having to log in every time with a username and password without the option to use Face ID is odd for 2024

Terrible app design. No facial recognition login. What was so wrong with the old 401k app? At least I could access my info easily and view more details on my ROI. Hope there are more changes coming soon, this isn’t a good start.

How are you going to go from an app that uses face recognition to log in to a new app(this one) that you have to type you’re entire email address and password every single time.

REALtirement is horrible give us the old one back this thing won’t even load!!!

The old app quit working but REALtirement works fine. Only thing I would change is fingerprint log-in capabilities.

Great improvement as now you can process transactions and fund changes through REALtirement .
