Weird new glitch

The “schedule an appointment” button is pinned to the shortcuts area, and is not able to be removed, even when you go to customize shortcuts. This is frustrating because it then only allows 3 shortcuts, eliminating quick access to everything I need. The “schedule” button is pretty useless anyway because VCU doesn’t even use this feature for most of their providers. So the fact that a useless button is forced and taking up space? Oops.

Also, appreciate that refill requests can go through the meds list now, however in the rx details, there is no information on how many refills a doctor has written for (even under the heading “refill details”… only shows “quantity” and “days supply”)

Could use some improvement.

MyChart is good for seeing future appointments and great that they can be added easily to my calendar and seeing the test results is nice.
The problem is the messaging part. There have been numerous times when VCU Doctors have said to leave them a message but I can NOT find a way to use MyChart to message a doctor if they have never messaged me first and trying to call and leave a message is almost impossible.
If you want patients to use MyChart it needs to be tweaked to be more patient friendly.

My chart review

I suffer from extreme chronic pain & sleep is a precious refuge for me & often hard to come by. I don’t see why you have to send messages at 6am. They steal 2-3 hours of my sleep! Once awakened I cannot go back to sleep. I detest this feature!

I like the ability to see my test results. However I think there must be a way to inform me with some plain interpretation. I have no medical education & do not have any way to know what they mean. To me they are in a foreign language.

I do like the ability to sign in for appointments on line! It saves time & stress.

The appointment reminders are great as it’s easy to forget & they give all the information I need to get there. I do not live in Richmond so it’s nice to get the when, why & where & contact info all together! Much more efficient than having to call!

I like the ability to contact my Doctors by messaging and their teams! Much more efficient than playing tag on telephones. It’s good
To have everything in writing for future reference. It’s easy to forget or get mixed up about what a Doctor told me and what I told them!

When notified by email there is a new message in MY CHART and the link is followed, the option to use Touch ID to sign in is non existent making this very inconvenient.

Touch ID is nice when going directly to VCUHealthMyChart

Notified by phone today about an upcoming surgery. The date was given however times etc will be sent later, thus nothing in messages and no way to easily add to calendars other than manual.

MyChart is Awesome

This system is so easy to use! I can keep track of all of my doctors and appointments in this one huge health system. I can email medical questions, prescription questions, and ask for assistance with insurance questions for each individual doctor that I see. I can see the doctor’s notes about my most recent visit, I can see test results from my most recent procedures, and I can see my lab results. This allows me to understand what I need to ask when I go for my follow up visit. MyChart is a game changer for communication with your doctors and staff. I wish all doctors were using MyChart!

The easiest medical chart to use

It is extremely useful, and ready to use all times. Great addition to VCU medical care. It is a piece of mind. My medical history, old and recent, medications, past and future visits, vaccination history, and an easy way to communicate with my doctors are always in my pocket.
Thank you!!!!

Key Communication Tool

Love VCUHealthMyChart . I can easily communicate with my medical providers, review test results, request appointments, etc. Much easier using VCUHealthMyChart than trying to communicate through phone calls/messages. VCUHealthMyChart is logically organized and easy to use.

Very helpful app

Since most of my docs are part of VCU Health, VCUHealthMyChart contains most of my medical information together in one spot. The site is easy to understand and navigate. I particularly like being able to immediately access my test results and to message my doctors as needed.

VCU Hospital

What a great hospital, i have being going to VCU since late 2015, always have had a positive welcome from the doctors, nurses and the rest of the staff. The Doctor that I see is in my opinion one of the best, always on the ball and up to date on all my scans, his nursing staff are equally great too. I would recommend VCU to anyone. A big thank you to Dr Paul and all his staff.

Super helpful

Not only can I keep track of all my appointments and test results, the messaging system is much more efficient than trying to do anything by phone. In addition, I am my sister’s caregiver. Because she gave me permission I am able to keep track of her appointments and exchange messages with her providers.

Was looking forward to the new platform…not impressed

Update: The new platform had a lot of glitches but now it’s back to normal. I can actively communicate with doctors and nurses and get answers to questions I have same day for the most part. But that may be more specific to my particular doctors. Not all staff are as attentive.

My Chart

I LOVE the new MyChart app. It was informative when I was in the hospital. I was blown away by its use during an admission. I had no idea that it worked in hospital. I felt less anxious that I could look up my test results and healthcare staff without having to track down someone each time. Additionally, it helps me keep in contact with my healthcare providers outside of the hospital and within different healthcare organizations.

Great app but one flaw

VCUHealthMyChart is fantastic for managing my family’s health care needs. It provides an easy was to interact with doctors, nurse and staff, making appointment and being able to refer to notes, test results and history. The one annoying thing is that they turned off the ability to manage the photo that’s associated with the patient. Only the attending doctor can change it. With all they have to do that’s a weird level to have administering photos in VCUHealthMyChart when as a parent I should be able to do it myself. But definitely recommend using VCUHealthMyChart.

Multiple provider options in different networks

I love that I can go to different providers that are in a different network and I can link my providers altogether in my chart, it’s very convenient and also too I like that I can share my sensitive health information and not have to literally go sign a release form I can just simply hit the button in VCUHealthMyChart and it’s granted. No running around like a chicken to get a signed ok.

Great Patient Portal

The MyChart leaves access to my physician and visits notes easy and fast. I love that I can send a message to my physician and even request medication refills thru my chart. The patient Portal also is great for reminding you of upcoming appointments and messages you may have received from your physician. I also enjoy the family share feature, giving me access to my child’s portal right in the same welcome screen. Overall great tool.

My chart app

I love the my chart app I do everything with it involving my medical needs I can order my meds talk to my primary doctor or talk to another doctor if my primary is not available at the moment I schedule all my appointments even the ones at VCU main hospital. I get all the medical information I need with my chart it is so helpful to me I don’t know what I’d do with out it. I did not think I’d like it at first but once I used it I love it. Thank you all for VCUHealthMyChart.

Family of Patient

I love the access VCUHealthMyChart gives. I got it to keep up with the many visits needed for a family member’s illness. Once the family member gave me permission, I can see all the scheduled visits, visit notes, medications, bills, test results, and messages between the doctors, nurses, and patient. The details of the numerous bills allowed me to see what was billed, what insurance payed, and what we owed.

I also decided to link several of my MyChart accounts so my COVID vaccines are all documented in one place.

Managing My Medical Care and Treatment

My Chart is much improved from the old VCU Health. The ability to view appointments, lab results, after visit summaries, medications, and enter insurance information has made using My Chart a pleasure.

If any improvement that would benefit me, would be streamlining the appointment check in process since I am retired. Many of the questions are appropriate, but not applicable to a retiree with no change in status or insurance coverage.

But I understand that VCU may desire to verify this information for each visit.

Great Communication with Providers

Love MyChart.. I have other providers with my chart so makes it so easy for all my providers know what is going on across the board.. Everyone can see labs so I don’t have to print them off and take them with my next visit.. Reduces mix ups on appts since I can verify my appt date and time compared to my calendar.. I use the messaging section for almost all my communications with my physicians when there is an issue.. No phone tag and I can see the exact instructions.. Best thing VCU has done in my mind..

Nice portal love it

This is a very nice site its hard for me to remember things said to me and sometimes medicines change so much its nice to be able to kick them up and see them . Sometimes things change that i dont hear about we are human and its documented so i know a change.
