I originally started using the free version of MyMovies6 several years ago. At first I loved it, because it was a great way to keep track of my large collection of DVDs/BluRays. It took me hours to scan them all in, but I didn’t mind since it created a library I could reference right on my phone.

Now, however, they’ve migrated to a new version of MyMovies6 , and my entire collection of over 900 titles has vanished. I see no way to recover it, and on top of that, they’re limiting the free version to less than 50 titles. Otherwise you have to pay. So, all that time and effort I invested is down the toilet. Why would I pay them just to have to do all that work all over again? Plus, there’s clearly no guarantee that they would bother to retain my data? No thanks!

I love MyMovies6 and everything about it, but instead of it just being called My Movies Pro… They have made several versions, My Movies Pro 1,2,3 and now 4 And instead of keeping their customer base happy, they want to squeeze yet another dollar out of you… I’m sure it takes an extreme amount of work to actually put all this info into an app. I really couldn’t tell you all the details about that because I’m not a programmer… however, I really appreciate the hard work that these people do. However if they’re going to just be greedy like they are… Then just charge us .99 a month like everyone else… or .02 cents for every movie when add a new one… And call the the new app My Movies Pro Max .99 a month (OR) .02 Cents for every movie you add… My point is stop trying to reinvent the wheel when the wheel you have is already amazing!

I was part of the original buyers of MyMovies6 and it has put limitations on for every update.
When I decided to put money into MyMovies6 for my movie collection, all I wanted was a place to keep a list of my movies. I figured the original cost was fair for what I needed MyMovies6 for, a list.
Now with all the updates made to MyMovies6 MyMovies6 owners want to keep charging for all the momentous and grand evolutions to an app for a movie list. Where I was once able to keep a list for a few hundred movies, now I’m limited to 50.
For those who are looking for a program that just keeps a list, this one sure looks like a subscription based service.

The customer service for this company is horrible. I had an issue with a movie box set and used MyMovies6 to report wrong information and the response was that I should download a desktop app to fix it myself with a rude tone. I downloaded the desktop app but I can’t fix the problem myself apparently but I don’t want to try contacting them again just to get talked down to and have them act like there isn’t a problem even though I know EXACTLY what the problem is. Not only that but the desktop app installed SQL without warning and that version was broken so when I rebooted some of my startup programs could no longer start because of it. I of course uninstalled it but this is just ridiculous. I’m glad I waited to pay for the year subscription, I’ll keep looking for a good app.

I loved MyMovies6 before . I scanned my movies , was able to see them … blah blah blah . But they keep updating MyMovies6 and you have to “upgrade” which means pay if you have more than a set amount so they came out with my movies 3 pro and I paid for that and boom it was the perfect version in my opinion . It was a one and done payment and I have only 1400 something titles and I have it on my iPhone and iPad and it looks amazing . I haven’t deleted it because if I do , I’ll lose everything . They do not have access to MyMovies6 at all anymore . You’re now forced to pay monthly. Yeah no … sorry . My movies …. What are you doing ?

I’ve used My Movies for a very long time and have upgraded each time a new version came out. Well, I just upgraded to 5, and I was more than disappointed. I still have 4 on my iPad and will be using it instead, since 5 is completely worthless. First, I have always gotten the pro version since it was offered. I’ve never had any problems with MyMovies6 during the time I’ve used it, other than getting a movie that wasn’t completely in the system and having to go through the adding - not bad at all. But I upgraded today when I received a notice saying I could upgrade for half price. I was charged full price, despite using the link in the email. Then after I downloaded the new app, went into MyMovies6 , I found out that I have to subscribe if I want all my movies downloaded, otherwise it will only show 50 movies. That’s NEVER been the case before. Every prior download gave me full access to my entire movie collection and subscription service was never an option to be able to see all your movies. Bad move developers, you’ve lost a loyal customer and I’ll be asking MyMovies6 Store for a refund.

I had this program on my iPhone 12 for two years with 600 movies in the database. I paid for the pro version and was happy with it now I have a new phone and it will not load the movies unless I start paying for a subscription. Here’s the point developers don’t offer a pro lifetime plan and sucker people into paying for it, and then change it to subscription, the fair thing to do would be to offer MyMovies6 version that we purchased at the lifetime price and leave us have our database there. If we already have an account just honor that account at the last version where you honored your initial offer for me that was my movies pro 4. That version is no longer available in MyMovies6 Store. So if you buy a new phone you can’t continue with the version you had like you suggest in your comments.

MyMovies6 was great a few years ago. They have a desktop app that is used to maintain your collection. This main desktop app has not been updated in over 2 years.. there are issues that they have not fixed and now they throw a couple of updates on a mobile app and want to charge everybody to rebuy MyMovies6 or charge $10 a year for MyMovies6.

The other big issue is that physical discs are disappearing from society.. everything has been going to streaming where nobody owns the media and you basically just rent it…. It would be one thing is MyMovies6 could stream movies, but it does not do that.. the last time streaming from my movies worked was ba k when Windows Media Center was big on Windows 7.

Not sure if MyMovies6 is really worth upgrading.. the previous version does its job to track my physical media inventory.

Personally, I love MyMovies6 . It’s easy to use, it keeps track of everything I own and who I lend my movies to. The barcode scan option is a great addition as well. However, every 1-2 years, instead of MyMovies6 getting an update like most apps, it gets a new app. You log in one day and you get a message basically saying to download the new app in order to keep an up-to-date app that runs smoothly. There’s usually a fee included as well. This year, not only was there a new app to download to replace the old one, but now the fee has rocketed and it becomes an annual fee instead of just a quick one time thing to update and transfer info from MyMovies6 you had before updating. So in short, MyMovies6 itself is awesome. The updated new apps you have to download annually and the fee you have to constantly pay (and now an annual fee) is getting to be a bit much.

I love it and have had several versions. The only thing I’m not happy with is many covers donor show images in my collection. This has never happened until this latest version. I add the titles by scanning the barcode, the title is where it should be and the description and the cover art is viewable when I click the title, but shows a blue screen with no images on the main collection page. If that was fixed I would rate 5 stars.

This is a really nice app I have been using it for years, it works really smoothly and has one of the if not the fastest most accurate barcodes scanning engines I have ever used, it is so quick and accurate that the second it even sees a part of the barcode in focus it’s already been read and the movie loaded and ready to be added to your collection this makes adding titles a breeze.

Another extremely important thing to note and is seldom seen in the greed driven app selection today is the fact they offer both full lic and subscription, so you do have a choice and this is as it should be. Plus the customer service is outstanding. I own the pro version and have contacted them without issue and they always get back to me.

I highly recommend MyMovies6 and it’s extremely reliable service.
It is truly a top notch app and company as of my writing this in 2024 a must have for any avid collector.

I have purchased both ver 3 and 4. Each met my expectations. MyMovies6 interface is easy to track my videos and is visually appealing. When I have had instances where thumbnail images weren’t available, it was easy to contact MyMovies6 creator to add my images. Tech support is great although I haven’t used it much as MyMovies6 has worked flawlessly. I would recommend this to anyone with many videos. It has kept me from purchasing videos we already had. Tracks downloaded videos as well.

I purchased this movie app with the hopes that it would be a great way to catalog my movies. It was even better than I expected. I have close to 2000 movies and I was constantly buying duplicates without realizing it until I got home. I love the simplicity of adding movies, especially being able to scan the barcodes. I did purchase the upgraded versions for all the extras that you can get because they are absolutely wonderful to have. I love that I can print out a list of my movies, sort, my movies, add movies that I have only seen and don’t have a copy of, and you even Mark borrowed movies as went out. I’ve never had a problem with MyMovies6 that always upgrading it and doing a fantastic job. I have purchased all the updates because it’s just a wonderful app to use. If I could only have five apps on my phone. This is definitely one I would keep.

I started with the free version of MyMovies6 and was able to enjoy its clean and easy layout. They have a massive database of all the titles you would expect and also you can add a custom title and artwork for anything that might be obscure or unheard of. I have since upgraded to the pro version as my collection of films grew to be a couple thousand and have never had any issues. It is reliable and worth it if you have a growing collection try it out at least the free one!

Great app and idea and I hope MyMovies6 will last long for us movie lovers and viewers. The only concern is that I wish MyMovies6 was very simple and accessible to use in the “categories column” such as being able to add a movie to more than 1 categories as the same time and without duplicating it too. Categories like: favorites, watch later, wish list, action, comedy, drama etc… and also being able to create a new category or folder. I’m saying all this because that is the issue I’m having with MyMovies6 other than that it’s a fantastic app.

I’m still finding my way about MyMovies6. Each day is a new discovery. By far, this is the best title database I have found, and I have looked! It’s pretty easy to get a title entered that may not be there, which may happen with the proliferation of boutique labels. Some more and easier personalization would be nice. I’ve submitted a few suggestions and once I’ve finished entering my movies I will start adding more info to incomplete titles. Works well. Recommended!

MyMovies6 is incredible. It tracks videos in all available formats and downloads from a barcode scan all the data you could want. The database is remarkably thorough and located all the videos that I have bought in other countries while on travel. TV series provides broken down data by disk and episodes. I wish I could find a book app this thorough to catalogue my library.

Love the ease of using MyMovies6 . There is no way I could keep track of which movies I have when I’m out shopping without the help of MyMovies6 ! It’s a quick reference, also, when I’m looking for movies to watch in the evenings. if I don’t remember what the movie is about, I can always watch the trailer that’s available. It’s just nice to have a library of movies that I can refer to on my PC or on my phone. Well done!

I’ve had every version of MyMovies6. I have a 3000+ title library of movies. MyMovies6 handles it all.
My only disappointments to date is how cluttered it’s become. We don’t need to view trailers on here.
People are adding inaccurate information. The company has started to rely too much on purchasers additions and doesn’t check them for accuracy.
But, I’m keeping tract of what I have, so I’m not going to sweat that stuff.
Well worth $10.

I used to type out a list of all my Movies, but It was very hard to keep updated considering I have over 1000 DVDs. MyMovies6 has made it very easy for me to be able to just look up what movies I own and don’t know before buying. It has saved me money by not buying double copies more times than I can count so far. I’m very thankful that MyMovies6 is around.
