My Movies 3 - Movie & TV List Reviews

This was the first app I ever purchased for my iPhone years ago and I’ve loved using it ever since. The developers do a great job of taking feedback from the community to update MyMovies3 .

The ability to scan barcodes (even in batches) makes it really easy to add titles to your collection. There tons of information on the movie titles. And, if you see something you know is missing, you can provide the info for the database to be updated.

It’s a great app for any movie collector (or if you just want to keep track of movies you have seen). A new version comes out every couple of years or so and I’ve upgraded each time (and will continue to do so).

I really really like MyMovies3. Been trying to organize our collection for years strictly for when we’re at movie sales and can’t remember if we own it or not. I would have given it 5 if sometimes it would let you enter everything. I have all the seasons to one series but it only lets me enter the first two. I know I have the complete series but I wish it would let me put our collection in. Other than that though, awesome app and as we scan our collection in (up to over 1600 and still adding) it’s awesome.

This is a great app. I’ve used basically every other system, and besides dvdprofiler (which doesn’t have a desktop version for Mac, which was my dealbreaker), this runs the best.

Very easy to use, good layout and nice online collection view. However, and this may sound silly to some, but you cannot add adult titles to the database with their Mac software, be it ios or os.

They told me on their forum that Apple does not allow for adult content to be used. However, basically all other apps do this. I was told to get the windows version (which would require me to get a new computer). So I basically paid money for something that I cannot fully use.

That aside, and I’m sure that won’t be a problem for some, this is a very good sorting app. If it were free, I would rate it 5 stars, because I could have walked away with no commitment. However, after buying both the iPhone and desktop software, and not seeing anything about not being able to catalogue adult titles, I can’t give it the full rating that it should deserve.

I don’t often write reviews. But, the functionality of MyMovies3, combined with the exceptional customer service finally prompted me to write this one.

I have a modest collection of movies - about 2,000. Most of them are physical copies, but I am also developing a sizable digital only collection. MyMovies3 made it exceptionally easy to add all my movies into it. And, now that I’ve been working with it for about 6 months, I’ve come to rely on it.

I know that my one wish is ridiculous, but I use MyMovies3 so frequently (I love to collect and watch movies) that I use it almost daily to decide what I’m going to watch. I wish I could just select it and have it play instantly on my big-screen (for those that I own digitally). LOL! Yes, I know. I’m way lazy.

Anyway, I’ve never been happier about buying an app than I was with this one. I had long used CollectorZ, but this is so much more useful!

I found myself buying movies i had already owned. My collection got so big it was fuzzy on some titles if i had or not. Not only does this help you organize your movies, it keeps you up to date when you are out buying movies. Highly recommend MyMovies3 for anyone who has a collection they are proud of, and need some assistance keeping track of what you already got. Also helps you decide what movie you want to watch by scrolling through MyMovies3

I am a My Movies 2 user and bought MyMovies3 from the original developer to catalog and archive all my movies that are in boxed storage. Once the new developers bought MyMovies3 they have essentially voided my pervious purchase with constant pop ups that they may not support version 2 in the future. And now, when I open MyMovies3 my collection is blank until it populates from a server. I bought version 2 to keep a database of my movies on my phone. I don’t need new features or to have my collection uploaded to a cloud to be deleted if I don’t an update I don’t want. This is a good app with a garbage business model. If it was still owned by the original developer I would update and support them, but not like this.

I absolutely would be lost without this service! Before My Movies I was continually buying duplicates of movies that I already owned. With this easy to use app I’m able to verify that I do/don’t already have a particular movie in my collection. Also when I lend a movie out I can keep up with who has what! The only thing I would change is maybe add additional ways to organize my catalog. Whether that be by genre or media type. All in all great job!

I had an excel spread sheet of all my movies before but this is much easier. Just scan to add most of mine are own for keeps but I like that you could us it to keep track of movies to lend out or on your wish list. I think the best thing is that it is on my while browsing the deals at the store I can check and see if I have it already or need to replace that one because our six year old ruined the movie.

MyMovies3 itself has great features. There is plenty of information about each film. My only problem is with the multi-scan feature. Every time I scan multiple movies they disappear when I go back to scan more. So I’m scanning each movie individually which is time consuming up front. Once movies are scanned in it won’t be hard to add additional films as you go. This may be something I just need to figure out but I won’t upgrade to the Pro version unless I can find out how to get the multi-scan feature to work.

The basic logistics of MyMovies3 are fine and work well with my collection. However, every time they decide to make a new version of this apps no make the previous one obsolete, you will be charged yet again for the “unlimited” service they provide. I just upgraded my phone which means the previous version I was using is no longer valid but I can get the next step in MyMovies3 for a 50% discount... even though this has already happened twice before. How many times is my “unlimited” purchase going to be replaced by something gin else I have to pay for?

I love MyMovies3 I can now look threw my app to see what movies we have especially when we’re are not home I have bought multiple copy’s of movies because I didn’t know what we had. I was about to type out all our movies we owned then saw MyMovies3 and save me so much time I just scanned the barcodes and it put them all in alphabetical order I love MyMovies3 I tell everyone to get it haha

The only thing I do not like is when I update my phone to a different phone, after paying for MyMovies3, it makes me pay again. I’ve paid for MyMovies3 three times. I like it for the convenience of it keeping my movies in alphabetical order and helps me keep track of what I have, compared to writing them down in a notebook. But as far as paying anymore I will not. The next time I update I will just figure out a way to keep my movies in my computer or just write them down again.

I really just have a question I downloaded MyMovies3 on my iPad and so for its good I want to know if I purchase the full version can I use it also on my iPhone I have another movie Database that I purchased on my IPad but I can only use the full versions on the IPAD not on my phone please help let me know before I waste my money again thanks

At first I thought it was another lame app, but after paying the $10 bucks, I fell in love with MyMovies3. It’s the easiest to keep track of all my 200+ movies at home. Now I don’t have to ask myself if I have a certain movie, before I spend more money buying it again. At its super easy to use and organize.

I taught film for over fifty years. If only this had been available! A great, comple program with every feature I could think of. It had a couple of problems but the creator of the program responded almost immediately to my several messages. A great program that’s worth much more.
